I was this Immigration related issues meeting and was to told to share this with you all. Please share this with fellow Somali Nationals living in the US who might be interested in this. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services Washington, D.C. 20536 Contact: Office of Public Affairs July 21, 2003 Phone: (202) 514-2648 BCIS Announces Extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nationals of Somalia WASHINGTON – The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration (BCIS) today announced a 12-month extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals of Somalia until September 17, 2004. The extension of TPS for Somalia is effective September 17, 2003, and will remain in effect until September 17, 2004. Nationals of Somalia who have been granted TPS must re-register for the 12-month extension during the 60-day re-registration period, which begins on July 21, 2003 and will remain in effect until September 19, 2003. Under the extension, those who have already been granted TPS are eligible to live and work in the United States for an additional year and continue to maintain their status. There are approximately 360 nationals of Somalia (or aliens having no nationality who last habitually resided in Somalia) who are eligible for re-registration. Section 244 of the Immigration and Nationality Act authorizes the Attorney General to grant TPS to aliens in the United States who are nationals of countries that are subject to ongoing armed conflict, environmental disaster, or other temporary and extraordinary conditions. On September 16, 1991, the Attorney General designated Somalia under the TPS program based on the ongoing armed conflict there. Since that time, the Attorney General, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State have continuously examined conditions in Somalia and recently found that “the extension is warranted due to the ongoing armed conflict within Somalia that would pose a serious threat to the personal safety of returning nationals of Somalia (or aliens having no nationality who last habitually resided in Somalia).” To re-register for the extension, a TPS applicant must submit Form I-821 (Application for Temporary Protected Status) and Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization), as well as two identification photographs (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") to the local BCIS district office. Both forms must be submitted for re-registration. If the applicant is only seeking to re-register for TPS and not seeking an extension of employment authorization, there is no filing fee. However, all applicants seeking an extension of employment authorization until September 17, 2004 must submit a $120 filing fee with Form I-765. Failure to submit the required photographs and filing fees will result in the rejection of the re-registration application. Applicants for an extension of TPS benefits do not need to submit new fingerprints and therefore do not need to submit a $50 fee. Children who are beneficiaries of TPS and who have reached the age of 14, but who were not previously fingerprinted, must pay the $50 fingerprint fee with their application for extension. Applicants may request a fee waiver in accordance with the regulations. More information can be obtained from the BCIS National Customer Service Center toll-free number: 1-800-375-5283. TPS forms are available from the toll-free BCIS Forms line, 1-800-870-3676, or from the BCIS Web site, www.bcis.gov. [ July 31, 2003, 10:05 AM: Message edited by: Mursal ]

Guraad, the rich pastoral land around Ceerigaabo belongs to Puntland. It is sad to hear that dispute is still going on after the 1993 agreement. Both goverments (Puntland/Somaliland) must take the necessary steps to protect the rights of these nomads na'mean? Peace among the clans is important.

Ohh Man. This is sickening. But somehow had to share with ya all. I know the Americans were bragging about how the US POW's and dead soldiers were shown by Aljazeera, is it payback time or they just so desperate to show these images...dang, I couldn't believe when I saw it all over the news. It’s really weird, I wonder what they will do with Sadam's Pic...show him piece by piece or what?... Whatcha ya all think...??

Ok..OK, for those of you replied, thanx for taking time and anticipate you didnt' mistunderstood me na'mean. I made it apparent that our women..are the most gorgeous queenz on earth...but we all come in different sizez and shapez. So my aim was to let you recognize that one can squander billionz to seek to appear better but will never thrive where on the other hand, one can do incredible to make him/herself bigger or smaller..or should I say thinner/skinnier LOl. Coming back to my request of suppliant to our sistaz..I'm also at the sametime heartening brotherz..do da same.and place some beef on their bonez na'mean. Doing basic exercise not only will it make you appear better but honestly…will help you mentally…and will be hale and hearty. Note: I recognize many of our sisters do the right thing and are taking care of their bodies however we need more and more.

Most Puntlanders, Somalilanders and Southerners I have talked to agree that RRA is the only credible Somali rebel group unaffected by the "murderers" label na'mean? Grinov, what is your say on the RRA? All I know is they kicked Caydiid's ass, they liberated their areas, and they don't have any separatist aspirations na'mean? The only mistake they made is that "in-fighting" between Shaatigaduud and the other dude.

who cares!!!!!! I haven't been to that place for almost a year and half na'mean. lol A friend was telling me that Somalia Online forum is actually the number one Somali forum on the net in terms of daily posts, quality articles, useful members, etc. It actually took over Somalinet as of March of 2003 na'mean. The nomad epedemic !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the wonderful pics.

It is getting sad nowadays na'mean. Many, and I say many Somali girls with beautiful faces are becoming too lazy to take care of themselves. They are becoming too fat. I think ya are all beautiful na'mean. Just take care of yourselves and start working out. Go on a diet, or do something. For your own good and for the brothers who want to make ya their queens. take this as an advice from a brother (Mobb_Deep) who cares na'mean. Halle Berry on a normal Day
-
SmithNwestern, There is a difference between your desires and the actual truth na'mean? you are mixing things up bro. Mobb_Deep
-
SmithWestern, As a Puntlander, first I have a problem with that phony map. It is actually manufactured by the USC. The line that divides USC and Puntland doesn't go though GARACAD. Garacad is in the heart of Puntland na'mean. That tells you this is a fake map. As for Somaliland, I agree with LibaaxSanka. It is not that easy for Somaliland to run after us all of a sudden na'mean?. somaliland would only consider coming back when these conditions are met. 1. Make Somalia two federal states. Somaliland and Southern Somalia. 2. Move the capital to Hargiesa 3. Change the name of the country to Somaliland 4. Acknowledge the suffering of the poeple of the north. 5. Make the first president of Somalia someone from Somaliland. After the first 5 years, if someone from the South is elected as the president, the priminister should always be from Somaliland. Then, the chances of seeing Somaliland back to the union is improved from 1% to 50% na'mean? ya all should understand it ain't easy to satisfy Somaliland at this time.

He must have been a horrible kisser..LOL I think she did cuz she thinkz it wasn't decent for him in the first..cuz of the location and on.

Football Tournament in Toronto Turned Into Somaliland V Somalia Battle....
Rokko replied to Quite -Storm's topic in General
What a desperate attampt to tell us about Somaliland. Quite-Storm, ya forgot 90% of people on the general forum don't give a damn about what country is what, who rules where, who killed how many in Somalia, Somaliland etc na'mean. you posted on the wrong forum dude. lol All polically motivated posts should go to politcs forum. lol -
Silent Sistah, I haven't seen any qabiil talk here except few confused ones here and there which are quickly dealt with by the staff na'mean. People here debate about nations, states, cities, etc. I don't know if you consider political debates about Somaliland, Puntland and Southern Somalia to be qabiil debates. If that is the case, then Somalia debates would also be qabiil debates then. But let us pray for peace. You are right we need peace for Somalis to prosper na'mean. peace
-
It can't be achieved. Lander, Somaliland will never be part of Somalia as I see it na'mean. Even though Somaliland people's desire is not 100% known to us (non-Somalilanders) because we don't trust Riyaale's 97% referundums, we still have to move on. There is no need to be advocating for a union that might be seen as an occupation by the people na'mean. It is all about greed for power, money and domination that is taking Somalia apart. Every tribe wants to rule the persidency, dominate the parliament, become all the ministers, etc. There is nothing called "Somali nationalism" na'mean?. Somaliweyn is dead.

Somalia: Is Federal Future Order Worth Defending?
Rokko replied to miles-militis's topic in Politics
So now Lander, Angel Dust and the rest think that USC wild-west country like Hobyo and Xarardheere is part of Puntland? The warring tribes are not part of Puntland. Period. USC and Caydiid's malitia are not part of Puntland. No single puntlander has ever claimed their land. We respected the wishes of the people of HOBYO, HARARDHEERE and SOUTH GALKACYO not to be part of Puntland. Talk of self-determination and peace. -
Dahabshiil HR apologises for the publishing blunder re: 1st of July

Lander, what about A.J's edited comment against samurai? Isn't that why he appologized?  -

But then again, that would be against the rules of this site na'mean. Che, how are we supposed to take ya seriously when ya make such statements as "majertenia". Are we supposed to be believe ya are a Somali nationalist? lol Ya are very funny dude. Saxib, in Somali politics, the minute ya make such statement as "majeertenia", yo deep rooted hate for that specific tribe ya hinted becomes very abvious to everyone. Ya just can't hide it na'mean?

I don't know why Admin didn't move this to the jokes section. I am dissapointed by some of ya nomads. This guy ain't serious so don't even respond to his posts na'mean. Ignore this fella na'mean.

waraa MMA, that baby lotion they have in the states and Canada is different in terms of ingredients na'mean. Or that is what my aunt (self-proclaimed Chemist) says atleast. lol The UK one is way better they say? lol No one will even look at Canada/USA baby lotion.

Laa Ilaaha Illalaah. So ina Cawaale Liibaan (his roots are from Maaneed iyo Mirafadle) is robbed of his accomplishments now by Angel Dust in the name of qabiil? lol. Now, let us hear what Gediid, Lander and AYOUB say about this na'mean. Angel love, do ya mind if we call this: the great flag blunder. lol

I know Islaan Maxamed, Garaad Saleebaan, Boqor Buurmadow and Suldaan Siciid are on their way to Kenya. Who will be next? I don't know. -
Originally posted by Qa'Qa': u should tell her. and not embarrasse her like this. asking question on nomad ppl here. it is between u and ur girl. Qa'Qa, how is he embarrasing his partner when we don't even know who this dude is. Look at his username. ONLY TWO POSTS. Shows he just registered to ask this question na'mean. The brother is just trying to find answers na'mean? Seeking answers ain't that bad. Again, this is a forum. Let nomads ask questions that concern them na'mean. Mindsate, it is better ya say "it sucks " to her and teach her that frankness about ya na'mean. Don't hold out yo. Tell the sis her ideas were terrible na'mean. She will get used to it na'mean.
