  2. Also, I found out that there's an ancient Somali script that hasn't been deciphered yet. Anyone know anything about it?
  3. What I want to know is, is the Maay dialect going to be used in schools?

  5. Chimera, come on and be realistic. Those degenerates were stealing any bit of metal to sell off. Imagine if they had come across hundreds of miles of it lying on the ground?
  6. Aaaaand he's back Alpha, I told you you'd come running back
  7. As for those who support suicide bombings, what does Islam say about it:
  8. Maaddeey, from what I've read, Abu Muscab was an evil Khawaarij who went against the teachings of Allah and his messenger. He killed and lied upon Allah's religion and spread corruption on the earth. And what was that xadiith about the death of the faasiqiin? Arlada ayaa ka nasataa?

It's one of my dreams to perform such an investigation. It's also my belief that Somalis may benefit from a successful silencing of some specific genes (read positive eugenics). And are you any better?
  10. What did they do? Innocent people were blasted to pieces in a packed courtroom. I don't call that a victory.

There's this guy I sit next to in class who always tells me these interesting facts. I guess I'll finally be able to tell him a few things soon Blue, that's a shame. There's nothing more interesting than the sciences and nothing more rewarding than having a eureka moment when you solve a puzzle.

  16. I work in a call centre where we have to do telephone surveys and I can honestly say that respondents are somewhat more willing to take part if you have an "English" name/sounding name.

A tiny water boatman is the loudest animal on Earth relative to its body size, a study has revealed. Scientists from France and Scotland recorded the aquatic animal "singing" at up to 99.2 decibels, the equivalent of listening to a loud orchestra play while sitting in the front row. The insect makes the sound by rubbing its penis against its abdomen in a process known as "stridulation". Researchers say the song is a courtship display performed to attract a mate. http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/13958630 This insect is around 2mm in size and makes a noise equivalent to a freight train.

    Dolbear's Law

Dolbear's law states the relationship between the air temperature and the rate at which crickets chirp.[1][2] It was formulated by Amos Dolbear and published in 1897 in an article called "The Cricket as a Thermometer." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolbear's_Law So if ever you can't sleep and you've grown tired of counting sheep, pretend its 1876 and count the number of cricket chirps in 15 seconds. Add 40 to that number. The result will be the current Fahrenheit temperature. http://www.gothamcityinsider.com/2007/09/dolbears-law.html
