  1. Apophis, you use you Jilib which is the sub-sub branch I think. Chimera, qabiil is the elephant in the room. It's about time we embraced it, normalised it and made it our own. That way Somalia might have a chance.

And if you add that with what PM Saacid could bring on board from his constituency, don't you see the federal government has still a political card or two to nullify this whole thing? Particularly if you consider the large amount of Qatari funds that soon will be delivered to the government in order to facilitate the stabilisation of the country behind the federal government. His own family will disown him if he even dares entertain the idea sxb. I assure you, from Masalani in southern NFD, to Bu'aale in the East and up to Jigjiga in the North, J/land is a project tolka cares deeply about, yar iyo weyn (almost akin to your S/land mashruuc). It has our full support and we're ready to compromise (as shown by the inclusion of the big tent) but we will not back down.
  3. Wadani, it's nice innit. I would have made the example of myself but unfortunately I don't know which one my jilib is

  5. Apo, it is indeed a good idea. Somalis have a tendency to BS with themselves. Oba, I too have thought of it before and was going to make a thread but didn't want to be too radical (I got the idea when reading on the Meiji restoration of Japan and how part of the reforms was the adoption of surnames).

  7. lol Alpha, I knew my gimmick would work you little i.door scum Minister of education eh? not bad. Apophis, a little misunderstanding, no more.
  8. damn man this is some nice talk. I wish I could listen to all of it.
  9. Before you shoot me down give me a second. Earlier today I watched a Youtube video by a Somali professor who touched upon this point. As Somalis, in public and outside our homes qabiil is largely taboo (even SOL is a good example), however in our homes it is anything but. Whenever we hear of a prominent Somali, the first question that pops into most of our heads is Yuu yahey? (you know it is so don't try to deny it). All this covering up has made us all terrible hypocrites and totally destroyed the Somali state. What the good professor recommends is that we make our qabiil (our Jilibs to be precise) our surnames like the Arabs and even the west (names such as Ferguson for example). An obvious benefit is that the Qabiil becomes normalised like the rest of the world and people's passion for it hopefully dies down. Another benefit is that identification becomes much easier without the need for vulgar nicknames which we've resorted to due to our lack of surnames. Granted the good professor conveys his argument in a more clinical way than my humble attempt, nontheless I for one think it's a brilliant idea. What say you? Wouldn't Wadani Ciidagale sound nice? (towards the end but I would recommend listening to the whole video). N.B.: I would like to than Oba Hilowlow for bringing this video to our attention.
  10. Oba, fadlan can you find the full video?
  11. Xaaji, it's all politics and survival for an elite few who are looking after their OWN interests which doesn't necessarily correlate with the wishes of the silent majority.

  13. Those clans only share one thing, subjugation by the British. Besides, a few mercenaries do not represent the wishes of the majority (and truth be told, the majority abhors sharing anything with your clan); hence why there's no hope.
  14. well what did you expect
  15. Xaaji, don't start believing the lies you've been feeding your kids for 20 yrs now. The SSC regions (minus the bits you lot live in) belong to the SSC people and you have no right over it. Oba, I'm talking about the 'Xamar Unuka leh' sort of entitlement.
  16. Gaandhi is a clever man with great ideas but from what I've heard he's not a strong leader (which is what is needed). (Also, I can only think of one reason why F Macalin wouldn't support Gaandhi )

The Xamar clan doesn't want to share a country and have a deep sense of entitlement. Tolka wants federalism as a safeguard and to get back its lawful wealth but Xaad's clan doesn't want any of that. The only solution is in la kala taga. You waqooyians can have your S/land minus SSC, tolka aayaheeda ha ka tashato and Xamar can do whatever they want on their own. Ma been baa la isku sheegi?
  18. After all these years, some still don't know the meaning of genocide. AUN to the deceased.
  19. Somalia will never recover with people like this. It's better in la kala tago. Been yaan la'isku sheegin.
  20. I am a mystery shrouded in darkness.
