This reminds me of what I saw the other day. I was on the bus staring out of the window when I saw two school kids, an asian guy and a black girl obviously a couple. They were hugging goodbye, then the girl turned around. Wallahi waan sasay when I saw he face. Waxaan is dhehey "tallow taa muxuu ku arkay?". Illeen love is blind.

I know a person that married a kenyan bantu or something and their children were called caruurtii adoomada and the family as a whole ostracized. Would you allow that to happen to your daughter? For goodnesss sake a relative was ostracized coz she married a Garre, forget bantu.

The reer Xamar have been marrying foreigners for centuries. No biggie.

Somalis don't just mistrust each other, they hate each other. Until that hate is confronted and resolved, Somalia will never come back.

I can tell you their kids will end up looking like my cousins. Have you guys ever seen 100% Somalis with squarish faces and small eyes? Well some of my uncles kids are like that I even have a cousin (two times removed) who you would think is a black chinese women. I always wondered where on earth they get the genes. As for this marriage, they seem happy with each other so all the best to them. I just hope the man is a Muslim for Farxiya's sake.

Dubriiyow, marka hore a belated ciid wanaagsan. I'm sure you had a good time. As for parent child combos, bal check this one out: Cabdi Baadil and probably his son. The son's singing is ok and cabdi baadil is amazing as usual

Whereas in Kenya it's around 85%...

He only said the truth. If that is a tirade and leaves you speechless, what does that say about you?

SP, sometimes when we overthink things we create problems for ourselves. Many things we just accept at face value because it just isn't worth the hassle and you never know where it can lead you. This is one of those cases. Ciid wanaagsan dhammaan. I was volunteering at the mosque today and my xaqqul ciid from them was a bowl of suqaar with moofo. Couldn't get any better

Those prices are the ones I saw being paid first hand so iska aamus sxb (although I hear the market is down nowadays). The governor plans to do much more, and with his team I believe he will greatly improve the county but crippling bureaucracy which blunts development is ubiquitous in this country. Last Eid, the Governor promised a playground for children so they will not go across the bridge to seek entertainment etc, I saw yesterday they were about to finish it the new playground ( a first for the region). It'll be ready by tomorrow I believe. Well why don't you take some pictures maraxyahow?

SomaliPhilosopher;981343 wrote: So full A levels are two years? And is it the same to apply for American universities? Thanks Cool. What r u planning to study btw It's two full years. The application process is all online and takes place through UCAS. You apply Sep-Jan the year BEFORE you want to start e.g. apply now for Sep 2014 start. I'm planning to study something health related inshallah. Exactly what depends on what offers I get.

SomaliPhilosopher;981327 wrote: Hey Alpha or Haatu, do you need two years of A-levels to begin uni? or is one years, the As levels sufficient? You need full A levels but there are other routes e.g. BTECs, access courses etc. As for your question from the other thread, the British identity is a tool I use to further my goals, nothing more. I feel little affinity to this country although I am grateful for what it has given me. After getting my degree and some experience, I plan to leave inshallah.

SomaliPhilosopher;981332 wrote: Do you consider yourself 'Kenyan'? War I'm Muslim first then Somali. Kenya just happens to be where I was born and Kenyan my nationality. Kenya was an entity created by the British so every one of the 43 or so ethnicities that live there have an equal claim to it, including the Somalis.

Oday, well that bridge is a "border" in a sense anyway. The border to "Down Kenya" that is. What's even worse is beyond Gsa they have check points at every little village asking for bribes. I wonder how the bus companies stay profitable.

If the LAPPSET project is built and the town's infrastructure is improved, £15K will seem like a bargain in 10 yrs time. As for what it can buy today, it depends on what neighbourhood. In most it will buy you both a house and land, in the more desirable neighbourhoods, you might have to fork out double that.

Abbass, I know I've posted this in another thread, but the message of the song is more suited here. It starts at 50s. Soomaalay is aamina

Real estate is very cheap compared to Xamar or Nbo. £15,000 should get a very nice property with good space in Gsa. In other towns it's even cheaper around £6000 but it's not worth investing in atm (unless you're going for long term). House prices are currently falling because all the speculators are rushing to Kismaayo/Xamar and prices are at their lowest in 5 years.

Saalax;981258 wrote: They have been part of Kenya for decades and they are only getting roads now Lol? That explains the sad state of affairs in NFD. Yes, the NFD has been marginalized for decades but alhamdulilah things are beginning to pick up now. YoniZ;981259 wrote: Good stuff, however, someone must take pinch of salt with these white elephant projects. Mr Nadif needs to put extra energy on how to get local investments. If he can attract just quarter of the yearly Eastleigh money inflow, that will make a huge difference. The road project is most certainly not a white elephant. For years the central kikuyu lead government has been taking money from the Arabs in our name to "build" this road only for them to eat every penny of it. Now, we're building our roads ourselves and Nadiif will be held accountable if it doesn't get built. As for the investment, Gsa has been abandoned by it's successful sons/daughters. Every one of them prefers to invest anywhere but Gsa but IA if the county government implements the projects its planning the investors will follow. SomaliPhilosopher;981263 wrote: Interesting. You know developing the long neglected north eastern parts of Kenya is part of Kenya's 2030 plan. I am guessing the discovery of oil is playing a role in this.. The dry arid lands are not so dry after all appears to be the mantra going around the new kenyan government.... Haatu are you familiar with the real estate prices in garissa and other cities in the NFD? Now that Somalia has been neutralized, they are no longer scared of spending money here because the threat of secession is nonexistent. Hence, the sudden focus (also noteworthy is that the state of emergency was only lifted in 91/92 after the civil war began). Oil when discovered in commercial quantities will definitely be a game changer. Gas was also found in Masalani in southern Gsa county as well.
