Corrupt DF figures are clever enough to quit SOL before they 'soil' their hands with ill-gotten wealth a la Abwaan style. You on the other hand are still around and live a cush life in a sparawling house in Lavington. You also spend many a weekend in upmarket areas such as African Village. I'm on to you, buddy.

Either it's beaten out of them or it burns out eventually

  11. The guy has no clue about Somali politics. Let him give up for sake of his sanity. On another note, it's sad to see you guys are resorting to an unknown student to save your "aqoonsi" case. Forever in wilderness.

  13. They should work on trying to expand the forests in those areas by tree-planting. The more trees-->more evapotranspiration-->more rain. And when it does rain, the trees will keep the top-soil in place. Win-win all round.

Knowing the society we come from where rape victims are stigmatized, why would she ever consider doing that and risk ruining her social status?

  19. Another great one from Qamaan Bulxan. From what I can understand, the poet is advising against haughtiness (him saying if you think you are rich, there's always another man with one more camel than you). The quote ends with an advise saying that the affairs are not only up to you (I think he means Divine decree here). Overall, a very useful halqabsi which is relevant in many situations in life (memorising it and keeping it as ammunition would be useful ) - Hadii aad inaad taajir tahay, tuhunto uurkaaga - Toodowga[1] xoolaha ninbaa, tulud[2] ku sii dheere - Walee inna raggow talo aduun, taada uun ma aha [1] Tood - animal unused to being milked [2] Tulud - a single camel
  20. I'll start with one of Qamaan Bulxan's most well known stanzas (not the most famous though). I read it earlier and to me it seems like a knock-out blow to a qabiil - Waxaan heli waxaan haaban karo, iyo waxaan haysto - Hiyiguba wuxuu doonayaa, inaan hibeeyaaye - Iyagaa intay hilib qashaan, heesi dabataale - Oo ku hilbo qaybsada waxay, hor Alla gaysteene - Ma Hartaynu nahay soorta, maad hadal la'aan dhiibtid? Any ideas on this superb stanza?
  21. I shall post here some famous poetry quotes and try to make sense of them (some are straightforward though). I will appreciate any input from the nomads, especially those who know what they're talking about.

So I went from being a President to being the gacanyare of a mad feminist? I resign from the Caraweelo Government and seek asylum in the internationally unrecognised Women Republic. I shall raise an army and end the rule of the Caraweelo Regime. Prepare for war! Not Yet Kenyan

You're mixing things now awoowe. Of course our region is the least developed, no one denies that. What I'm denying is the notion that we're not demanding our rights. Kenya today is a changed place and the Somalis are making strides. This is why Mandera County received the biggest county budget I believe. From now on we will only blame ourselves for our underdevelopment as the central government is at last giving the area decent money.
