  1. Oba, forget about politics and enjoy the stories. But you have to give it to the guy, his Somali is amazing.
  2. God bless this guy. I remember listening to the stories every evening in my Aunties cariish. Those were the days.
  3. Those swimming lessons were useless man. What can you learn in 30 mins where you only get to go in the water 4 times to reach the other end?
  4. All that you have said we have seen and are continuing to seen. Sure, Xamar isn't perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than 2 years ago. Nation-wide tax collection is the next step. Baby steps.

You can't collect money and expect untrained soldier to do it's duities. Wht goverment needs to do is work on the fundementals before they can exercises their power. How they going to collect taxes, we don't even have system built for such huge task ? How you going to collect taxes from unhappy folks north, south , east ,west from reer habal. We have to work on issues that matter This government is different from the former incompetent ones. It is filled with skilled technicians who are capable of handling the finances of the country. As for the not having built the systems for this, you know why the Central Bank doesn't operate from the other thread: lack of finances and no one else is going to pay. We have to help ourselves before we can ask others for help. The people you claim are unhappy all want dawladnimo and all are ready to pay as long as they are guaranteed security.
  6. All I know is that when Assad is toppled (not if but when), the Shia minority will cease to exist. The amount of hatred the Syrian Sunnis have for them is unimaginable and I can see why.
  7. I don't like the coast so much. Too windy The interior is much better. Plus I can't swim, xeebta maxaan ka dooni? I think I'll only visit Soomaali Galbeed when it's truly free, whether it's proper autonomy or independence it doesn't matter.
  8. Che, tax collections should be able to save the government from collapse for the short-term if it's collected from every major town in the south. As for the local issues, Al Hamdulilah that is being solved now.
  9. walaalkis;903421 wrote: Haatu, We still got fragment of alshabab and moryaans threating people everywhere in somalia. Don't you think is too early to ask for taxes and such ? Oba anything comes out of this goverment you always clap about it. Lets go step by step. Security is concern in Somalia. If you going to collect taxes you better make sure no missiles are landing in my property . Walaahi somalidaan waxaan kala yaabay , ayagoo gurigooda iska dhisin ayey marka hore waxey bilawayaan iney diriska wax ka shagaan You complain about security and how you don't want missiles landing on your house, but who do you expect to do this? I hope you don't mean the ugandans or kenyans because they frankly don't care and are there for their own benefit. That only leaves the SNA. And how do you expect the SNA to improve security without adequate funding? If you read Che's new post in this section you'll see the problems the Federal Government is having with securing funding from donors, so what is the only avenue left? Taxes. If the government starts to collect taxes, it will be able to pay the SNA wages and thei supplies. This will mean less soldiers will leave their posts or rob the civilians. This will improve the relations between the SNA and the public, meaning Al Shabaab has less places to hide. Only by helping ourselves can we get out of this hole. Gacan hoororsi waa laga fiican yahey.
  10. This news is a sad reality which we all already know. The internal issues seem to be sorting themselves out now but the donor issue is a sticking point. I guess this explains why the government is keen on expanding the tax collection.
  11. Walaalkiis if feeling a little disillusionment as of late. I don't know why?
