I heard the government will most likely officially create a petroleum portfolio with a Minister, most likely the current Director will be promoted. Lets hope it works out. Alot of negotiations will be happening very soon(Stage 2), in term of percentages, what will the government take and extraction firms and so on, should be very interesting. Let's hope 80-20 in our favor and then we can eventually join OPEC and self manage (state owned etc).

There is nothing that can be done to stop where Somaliland is heading to, It's wishful thinking to be honest. We only need to look back many years and see the work of the Islamic courts and how their progression was stopped so forcefully by the powers in the West > Eithopia. There is no hope for a united Somalia under one flag. We may as well just go our separate ways.

I doubt any mercs are coming to Puntland anytime soon..., nevertheless Puntland forces can use any advantages/training/equipment they can get. Don't forget Al Shabab isnt too far away, and lets be honest they are a serious threat to Puntland as well.
