  1. Serenity, fudeed ann kaga dhigo, af Soomali wan aqanaa, wiliba nooca ugu fiican, mana ubahni in aan ku faano (taasi idiga bas aan kugo hor lahay) marka warka meeshas ku xir, ok? Aawy tii lahayste, aniga Xanthus mi ihi. Vernacular= luqad ama hadal ku kooban xaafad ama dad kooban
  2. It would be a waste on you since you think its Vernacular
  3. Serenity My Somali is so superb, poetic and well versed that the ordinary fish and chips of this thread can only dream of ever understanding it. I do NOT have these ‘fashionable’ new dialects that border on pretence, I speak good standard Somali that nowadays people claim not to ‘understand’. Anyway, as for you and Xanthus, people in the same jail cell should not tell on one another, don’t you think? JB, Vernacular = localized dilect
  4. I can see a lot of abused Somali left right and centre...not mentioning names
  5. A note for future tourists: don’t trample people on the tube just because you think the train doors will close before you get off, the other 10 people in front of you are also getting off and NO the train doors do not shut on passengers getting off (just those getting on). And, by the way, the left hand side of the escalators is NOT for standing or resting your lazy behind on! Some people need to get on the train that will depart in the next 30 seconds and your huge behind is blocking the way. Thank you.
  6. I have only read the first article for now. I’ve realized nothing comes out of these heated, often emotional and sensationalized debates. Someone will say something and many will agree, does that make a difference? Will those behind the policy making stop and think & change as a result of what’s happening? Will those ‘Muslims’ who think that it’s perfectly all right to maim and kill innocent people on their way to work or holiday as a ‘revenge’ for the other innocent people who have been killed elsewhere change? I doubt it. All I hear is a lot of noise and just more death and little progress.
  7. 17/20 it's not how they smile it's the eyes that give it away.
  8. I wasn't, but I hardly knew the woman.
  9. Yes an English wedding. I though it strange too, they've probably moved on to the reception by now. Apparently it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day, not sure if there is any truth to that.
  10. Hmm, classic calacal song Aaliya, even though I like the beat and she has amazing voice. Actually what I find weird in Somali songs is how women are praised for being shy, demure, quiet, and disciplined, not that there is anything wrong with these qualities but there has to be more? And more cynically, they sing about her looks, each one will claim she is the most amazing beauty that ever walked the earth, yawn yawn. So what if she has a hot oil accident tmwr? Or becomes disabled? It’s all over? It’s not often you hear about anything else, say intelligence or kindness or personality. How utterly superficial. I am not convinced!
  11. Who suffers from hay-fever? I was only saying let it rain because half the office has gone to a wedding of a co-worker, and I wanted it to rain on them
  12. ^^Good let it rain. Cara that is one horrific creature you posted.
  13. Yes JB, never thought Somalis were such cowards, using suicide bombs, so unoriginal as well.
  14. Yes, I thought so, sweating and dodging bullets would really ruin your look.
  15. ^^ have fun & shake that Jamac behind.
  16. Ngonge I would like to see if you last a day in Mogadishu you comfortable fluff.
  17. Praise the Lord the end is nigh... Xanthus just has way too much energy for her own good. You can tell by the number of o's in her lols.
  18. To keep me strong: Allah does not burden a soul with more than it can bear. To inspire/motivate: To discover new oceans you need the courage to lose sight of the shore I don’t know by whom but stuck with me.
  19. I should be at home in bed. lol@half showers, interesting.
  20. King Koya, I can understand why you would say God is Love, one of the many attributes of GOD is love. I’ve come across the Hadiths that say God is 99 percent mercy and compassion. As we know the 99 names of Allah also represent his attributes, one of those names being Al-Wadood (The Loving) similar ones such as The Source of All Goodness, The Forgiving, The Pardoner, The Patient, The Protecting Friend, indeed many of Allah’s name are attributes of Love (goodness, friendship, patience, forgiveness etc), but He is also many other things. So, is The Loving the same as Love? I would say God is the source of love. p.s I find the Hadiths & Quran to be more trustworthy than the Bible
  21. LOZ, the verdict is still out, no releasing of any fish. Zafir, what a declaration. God bless the Nemos of this world. Serenity & Xanthus, Yes, it doesn’t have to be sunny, but we shouldn’t be freesing at work either, 4 days shy of July for goodness sake, despite the fact that you’re wearing half winter wear. I feel sorry for the crazy ones who are in open shoes and short dresses. What do they eat? As for whats good for you, that is so dull and boring.
  22. In that case I would be the owner of a Japaneese fishermans boat, you would all end up in less than desirable places Xanthus, someone should have warned us this year...'summer is not coming' dress sensibly.
  23. loooooool Zafir, I guess you can never knock the Libax mentality out of some ppl. Give us a roar then...
  24. lol, well it has to not just be brillaint but beam so brightly that it simply outshines the rest, duh, how else will you know if it doesn't call to you? As fo size, thats just really show off isn't it? Xanthus, brilliance & light are not the same as colour are they now? Even though I did describe it as colour for lack of better word. A warning for you all, I hear fish have very short memory span p.s in respectable mode
