  1. That time again when guilt sets in about the lack of exercise…
  2. Night Xiin, just doing some reading...
  3. Serenity, hot chocolate and a duvet is the answer
  4. LoL@CL @much needed app. I hate ppl who have work from home status  . I'm off in half an hour. Hello Maklika & Che.
  5. Is Lambeth SE? I think it takes me the same amount of time to go from my side of London to Paris & Lambeth, and you know which one I would choose. The Point, we shall see about that.
  6. As long as the sun shines it doesnt have to be Dubai p.s. I take it as a sign of a youthful mind when things like house prices are the last thing on my mind
  7. ^^Not for long mate, if only just for change.
  8. Doesn’t sound too bad to me, who isn’t touched by the current financial climate? A lot of ppl still move for the tax free sunshine and lifestyle. You don’t have to be loaded & if anything working abroad for a while will look good on your CV.
  9. LoL@Cara, just be mean, or start talking of cancer patience and thrid world hunger, that will make them feel suitably ashamed. Cl, what can I say, you had to be there...overtly good looks usually tend to be compensating for something.
  10. LoL Sheh, very funny. I just usually look to busy to be approached. The last guy I had to walk away from was actually very amazingly good looking, up there with the top three drop dead gorgeous Faraxs of all time, classical universal good looks, well dressed and fairly young etc. you know there is a BUT coming, he had a very strong accent, I understand most Somali dialects but this guy must have descended from some mountain and hopped on a plane to my area. All I got was ‘dee’ and ‘iminka’ and more ‘dee’s and while he tried to be friendly it all came across as slightly aggressive & hurried. I’m sure even JB wouldn’t have understood this guy. I tried to coax him to speak English but he kept slipping back into his impossible dilect in the end I had to just walk off and say my goodbyes politely because it was getting ridicules. I’m sure he thought I was deaf.
  11. Pervy old men are the worst, they should know better, but like Ibti said, I would have just walked off. Old age does not give you immunity from bad behaviour. Hello Cabdiyo
  12. When approached by strange men you would rather not talk to you just have to perfect the confused, dazed, indifferent & slightly too busy look. The last Farax who was worth talking to couldn't be coaxed to speak English, he had too much of a strong accent. Oh well. p.s. hi folks.
  13. This man makes me sick, allow ya dharbaaxo...
  14. This is why Islam encourages people to leave wills. His soul is no longer in the body, it is unfortunate. The boming sounds fantastically far fetched.
  15. Ibti, that is why she should have married a specialized engineer who can hire a nanny while she goes back to work at least part time. she worked hard she doesnt deserve to live a difficult life. Anyway, my dream job is not a 9-5 nor does it require me to work for anyone so I guess this doesn’t really apply to me. As for Aaliyah and CL, no point debating personal choices. There is no point having a child if you cannot at least try to raise him/her to be the best human being they can be (eg. kind, compassionate, conscious of the world and others, an asset to society & humanity at large), regardless if you choose to stay at home or drop them off at daycare.
  16. I was just surprised at the level of shock & slight disgust. Oh well, to each his own. Ngonge, maxa ii geynayo arooskooda? She did say I should come and we exchanged contact details laakin meeshooda ha joogano! Good luck to them. It's not like we're best friends, haven't spoken for 8 years.
  17. This guy John, is down the pub regularly and he not a Muslim (not to mention butt ugly). I had to recover quickly not to show my shock at the whole affair. I saw his pub pics on face book afterwards. The shock is twofold, firstly that he is not a Muslim (they have a daughter together) and secondly that she would find him attractive enough to marry.
  18. You realize you're not as 'modern' as you thought when your high school Somali friend marrying a guy called John still manages to shock you.
  19. DD, let me know if you bought back any lovely scarfs, I'm always on the hunt for those. Ibti, I'A next Eid will be better. How's your charity thing coming along?
  20. Family affair, overall good, didn't leave the house except to pray. How was yours Ibti?
  21. To be fair, I thought Americans were quiet nice but Canada (at least Vancouver) was way more beautiful than the bit of the US I saw. Ngonge, I'm having even more cake, of sticky chocolate variety, someone's leaving do. Val, I can't be sick this wkend, so it better clear up by biri! If I had to live anywhere in Europe I would probably choose Switzerland. p.s. is anyone else as sick of hearing 'credit crunch' and 'financial crisis'. Goodness, people are dying of cancer and wars are going on, put it into perspective.
  22. ^^ , if we were kids, you would probably have been beaten up in the playground.
  23. I don't mean cold as in feeling cold but flu like symptoms. Never mind, a day off work in bed should fix it...but it probably looks bad to call in sick on a Friday? Hey Ibti, don't risk it, you might have eggs thrown at you !
  24. That is a lot of food. How to beat the cold?
