  1. Ngonge, it’s not “good” when they are passing so well you’re team cant get the ball, duh JB, stop being so sexist, I haven't said anything about men & their egos, you only need visit the sports section
  2. lol@Juxa, thank you dear. Of course I am sad for Germany but my disappointment is cushioned by how well they played in the WC & that I was still impressed by them. Oh well. Now you started supporting Holland, good on you. Not that I care but I hope Holland wins against the 1-goal-Spain who bore everyone with their pass-the-ball games. Almost went home due to power cut, unfortunately it's back on now
  3. LSK, can I just say serious qarar aa ku hayo, this is probably the only time some spiteful SOLers smiled during the whole tournament, which is sad in itself. Yes Spain played better tonight, yes Germany lost but for a team that was underestimated, they had a wonderful tournament, sent home some big footballing nations, upheld their country’s record and played some great football, and unlike their former opponents, they were not humiliated. 1-0 loss is hardly humiliation. They can only get better from here. Now there is only one thing worse than a Dutch win, which is a Spanish win…
  4. Norf, I thought that’s what you wanted? Cant wait for tonight’s game, see this is why I don’t follow league football, my heart is already beating a little faster today.
  5. Ngonge, if you HAVE the ingredients and the recipe and you apparently love it so much, why can you not make it yourself? That’s selective retardation.
  6. I find it more shocking among kids too, I am always horrified to see parents giving their children can after can of fizzy drinks, Ribena, apple juice…so much sugar for delicate teeth! It’s not always about being over-weight, by all means enjoy your bombalo-buttacnimo, which has its own sets of problems. It’s about nutrional value and health. A skinny person's arteries will clog up with junk food just like a fat persons, their teeth will get destroyed by sugar just as much as a fat persons. To deny that many chronic diseases are linked to dietary and lifestyle choices is to lie to yourself. The same can be said about exercise and health. I find health is often a bigger motivator than weight loss. Yes you will die one day but you might as well live in quality while you’re around. That's why you see a tacbaan 70 year old who is a burden on their family and a fit 70 year old, travelling, working and living quality. I always lecture my extended family. It's the least I can do.
  7. Argentina, Messi & fat Maradonna are sent home. Two more wins to the cup.
  8. Juxa especially when you have kids, there are even sicker people in this world. Better to be slightly paranoid than too trusting. In this age of social housing it is difficult to be homeless. Most of these so called relatives are just lazy because they want a hot meal and someone to do their bed and wash their clothes. I say kick them out or suffer financially and house them in a B&B. M, she works in a law firm. Hello Ibtisam , what do you do walaaley? It seems you push yourself beyond your limit all the time.
  9. ^^Ngone yeah I know. But at least Juxa hears this becuase of the profession she is in. There is something about Somali communities and horror stories spreading like wild fire, it's kind of grotesque really, this fetish for bad news. Juxa, the only family member that stays with you IN AN EMERGENCY should be someone you do not have to cover your hair from, end of. No more kindness beyond that. I know its our culture but I dislike this whole village share a house thing.
  10. Acudibillahi, sounds really bad, where they living in the same house?
  11. there are sick ppl in every nationality, never assumme they are better simply because they share so much with you. very sad.
  12. maybe... this has been a looooooooooong week.
  13. Finally Friday, yaa soo jeedo?
  14. C&H, I know this is troll, but here is something to ponder on! Biological clock strikes for men too - at age 35 By Mark Henderson and Patrick Barkham MEN who put their career before having a family should beware: the ticking of the biological clock is as important for fertility in men as it is in women. American scientists have discovered that genetic damage to sperm routinely starts to cause infertility in men as young as 35. The strongest biological evidence yet for a significant drop in male fertility in the late thirties is a warning to the increasing number of grey-haired fathers who are leaving it later to have children. The popular worry that career women risk losing the chance to have children has long been supported by infertility research focusing on how the quality of women’s eggs deteriorates with age. Researchers from the University of Washington in Seattle have now provided the first firm molecular explanation for why childless career men should worry too. The chances of having a baby are reduced if the man is in his late thirties or forties. The study, led by Narendra Singh and unveiled at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine conference in Seattle today, examined the sperm of 60 volunteers aged between 22 and 60. All the men had healthy sperm counts. Dr Singh’s team found that, whatever the sperm count, its genetic quality was closely related to age, with a cut-off point for serious damage of about 35. Men in the older group had higher concentrations of sperm with broken strands of DNA, more acute levels of such genetic damage and their immune systems were much less efficient at weeding out faulty sperm by programmed cell suicide, or apoptosis. The sperm of the older men were also less vigorous swimmers. Clare Brown, of the British infertility charity Child, said the findings cast new light on the often overlooked problem of male infertility. “About a third of all infertility is male factor,” she said. “Male-factor infertility is more prevalent than people think. It’s not generally in the public’s mind that male sperm quality does indeed go down with age, from, as we now see, the age of 35.” William Keye, president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, said that men concerned about their fertility should avoid activities such as smoking that may damage the DNA of their sperm. He added: “While there’s nothing anyone can do about getting older, men who want to retain their own best capacity to father children should try to minimise contact with toxic agents and maintain a healthy lifestyle.” The proportion of British men aged over 40 becoming fathers increased by half in the 1990s. In 1999 one in ten children was born to a father aged over 40. The number of children born to fathers over 40 has risen by nearly a third to 42,000 a year in the past 20 years. Older fathers include David Jason, who had his first child at 61, Tony Blair, John Humphrys, David Bowie and Mick Jagger. James Doohan — Scotty from Star Trek — was an 80-year-old great-grandfather when his wife gave birth to his seventh child. The findings do not suggest that most men who wait until after 35 to try for children will have problems, particularly if the man’s partner is in her twenties or early thirties. But the study does alert fertility doctors to another potential problem when older couples have difficulty in conceiving. Source: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1171134.ece
  15. Er, I never said love is a sacrifice, once or ever. I just said love exists Jurnee, good luck.
  16. ^^ I am shocked that this comment is coming from you!
  17. Afternoon all, Nuune, What about the male version of that?
  18. It should do. It's a nice breeze up here. You should demand fan on your desk.
  19. It's not even that hot? lol
  20. And all the black players on the England team are descendants of Queen Victoria? A German team without Turks/Polish or any of the former members of Yuguslavia would be unrepresentative. I am surprised that there are not more players of Russian origin since lots of Germans are also half-Russian. Hales, you failed to add that “Sami Khedira, Mario Gomez, Jerome Boateng, and Dennis Aogo are all the sons of German mothers and immigrant fathers” Ozil and Serdar Tasci are both born in Germany to 3rd & 2nd generation Turks. Of course talented players with German citizenship would find their way into the national team, otherwise the “Nazi” nation comments would have been all over the place.
  21. Norf Bitte sei nicht enteuscht! I have supported England & wish them no harm but when they face my main team of the competition it will have to be Germany. I’ve been following some of the German press and I think the rivalry is more on the UK side, they hate the Dutch much much more. Some are taunting the English team by hoping it will go to penalties lol. Germany doesn’t have to win the competition, but at least they always go home at a respectable stage. p.s. personally if Germany doesn't do it, I wouldn’t mind seeing Argentina win, apparently Maradonna promised to run through Buenos Areas naked if they win?
  22. FB, I will not speculate, leave that to the English press, will wait till the game.
