  1. Ngonge, melting? It's just picked up again. Hey Ibti lol@skied.
  2. Ngonge, at 10 30 actually . I waited out the rush hour and left at 9. There not many ppl in and there is talk of going home early because its supposed to get worse by this afternoon. Abu Diaby, before UK I used to go to school in knee high snow, that a city like London cannot cope with some snow is ridicules. It's not THAT bad.
  3. Yes its lovely out there but I can't believe kids are getting time off school & a lot of workers will use this as excuse too. Its very normal levels of snow. Getting to work will take some time this morning.
  4. Oh, I forgot my headphones and thought I was on the wrong station. All I can see is a guy with glasses going on and on. I cant help but feel a tiny winy bit of hope.
  5. ^^The sweeping generalization that most somali girls don't care about politics, but the rest seem fair.
  6. CL, that doesnt sound so out of this world. Just that ppl are so mean and grumpy in London that normal human behaviour like sharing an umbrella comes acorss as strange to some...Now the putting his arm around you bit and no objection, well well , that may not be normal.

  8. C&H, there are a lot of natural waifs in our community. However, skinny or fat, not eating for long periods is obviously very unhealthy. These girls are storing health problems for the future. Gastrico (I think Acid Influx in English?)is very common in Somalis too, I wonder why. Not to mention deficiencies like anaemia and so on. If you don’t eat of course you lose appetite and get too tired to eat, you NEED energy to be able to chew and eat. Sounds like eating disorder covered up with suuro. p.s. What a mean list Ibti, ha ha ha.
  9. I agree but that group has everything to do with the comment I made because they assume a religious authority nobody has assigned them. As we know it, Somalia is not an Islamic state (yet). Granted that doesn’t mean wrongs suddenly become OK but right now the correct apparatus (learned scholars, courts) to carry out Islamic justice are not in place. Therefore we can’t assume dressing inappropriately will result in a punishment (apart from Allah’s). I am more annoyed with AlShabab’s lack of credibility than the game itself.
  10. Rahima, I agree with you but then again there is no compulsion in religion. If these girls choose to play in shorts and tank tops & people wish to watch the game it’s between them & their Lord. Resistence, it is ridicules to assume a simple basketball game having an ulterior motive or intention. As if a girl basket ball game is the most serious issue facing Somalis
  11. Yes I've had them before. I have developed a new addiction to pears. I did have white chocolate in my raspberry muffin this morning though.
  12. ^They are 9 weeks early. Wlc back Rahima
  13. ^^^loool Aaliya, eight kids is unatural, results of fertility treatment. I don't think they have a choice but to get on with it.
  14. I suggest you all start wearing sunglasses. The nerve of some people.
  15. That would depend on the role you are playing Malika. The basics I would say are: Praying 5 times a day Modesty Kindness
  16. ^^Thats assuming the Taliban, I mean AlShabab don't get wiff of this.
  17. Those ignorant murderers calling themselves Al Shabaab have probably killed more innocent Somali civilians in the last year than the TFG.
  18. Of course you can forgive a person who cheats, doesn't mean you have to stay with them. Forgiveness is good for the soul.
  19. LoooL@Ngonge Talk about mega ears dropping. Sounds like a very boring convo too.
  20. Dhoocisha sounds very dismissive and rude lol. Sorry Bob, not helping your case here. I guess each province has its own meaning. I'm sure good KK will take your word for it. The other day I found out a perfectly normal innocent word means soemthing completely different to some people
  21. Bob, I cant guarantee that, let me go and watch it first
  22. The actor kid is from my town. A lot of Indians didnt like it because it depicted their country as poor, sometimes an outsider can see things objectively. I heard lots of good things about it, will try to watch it this wkend.
  23. My mum was in Muqdishu this past December. This image of it being a constant inferno is really overrated, sure there are No-Go areas & tense periods but it’s a big city. Wherever you are life continues, and I think during hard times distractions such as education, whether it be dugsi Qur’an or so called universities is very much welcomed. A lot of children whose parents can afford it still attended primary and even high school.
  24. ^^ typical I'll let you know if I think of some.
