^^Yes and I think our genes probably have something to do with the type of hair we end up with. I guess it's all just improvement.

I am tempted to pop those pills Rahima. I prefer spray-on oil, it's lighter and dries much faster, really good for fine hair as it doesn’t weigh it down. If you want to splash out, at nearly £30 I find this a bit pricy but it has excellent reviews & my hair dresser recommended it. Kerastase Elixir Ultime http://www.kerastase.com.au/products/elixir/elixir-ultime.aspx#tab=productApplication Palmers Olive Oil Hair & Scalp Conditioner Spray at fraction of the cost does pretty much the same job (although Kerastane is much lighter) and I have used both. The best thing I have ever used by far has got to be for the scalp, for anyone with sensitive scalp it really puts the fire out, absolute heaven. FRAGRANCE FREE 100% organic coconut hair oil from Neils Yard Remedies, and NO it doesn’t smell like anything coconut at all, it’s totally fragrance free, dry and melts on fingers. It has to be stressed though it’s good for scalp not necessarily hair itself, I found Palmers oil spray to be more smoothing. You can also put it on your skin, like elbows and knees or any dry patches (not the face). http://www.nealsyardremedies.com/Coconut-Oil Wearing natural material hijabs that let your hair breathe helps as well. p.s. Blessed, you can find Sunsilk products on amazon.co.uk

From work its cosy Rahima, otherwise usual cold dull February day. Faheema hi, I was chastised for not having Mogadishu high on my holiday destination list yesterday when I was discussing holiday plans. On the plus side if I went I could do a detour to see Ibti. Ngonge you’re still on about your brother? I have come to the conclusion he is fictional, surely no one can have that much bad luck.

Hello SOL, Ngonge still going strong I see. Hi Rahima & Faheema :-)

Sophist thanks for that. We know from past experience no amount of education eradicates tribalism and corruption, so it will be their integrity, honesty, and fair dealings which will really matter, not that I am saying they don’t possess these qualities (Allah knows best) but we Somalis just love to over emphasise education like it’s the holy grail. Not to mention for a Somali man of their age education was by chance for the majority and not necessarily an opportunity that was extended to all. What I would really like to know is who these men ARE, but I guess we’ll know if and when one of them is appointed. How much time have they spent inside Somalia in the last 2 decades? I am a bit concerned about these exported diaspora politicians who have no real networks and insight on the ground which makes their jobs much harder afterwards as you need these networks and the know-how to work effectively. So I am asking you as you seem to be in the know how.

You win some, loose some MMA, hopefully they’ll get better with experience, continue to stay Deutschland for immer und immmer :-) On the other hand I don’t understand how any self-respecting Somali can support Italy…in anything.

Yes, restricted access and pay day payments not showing.

Morning folks. Does anyone else here bank with Natwest? They are such a joke!

I agree with Juxa Everyone should do what’s best for them and their family. I have issues with home schooling. You don’t just learn how to pass exams in school, but how to be part of a society, how to handle yourself etc. I think some Somali parents overestimate the role of education in a child’s life. Secondly, because we personally would not take our children to day-care does not mean we should judge all day-cares as bad. Some are decent, for example, some workplaces (eg. my sisters NHS hospital/High Schools) have enough children to have their own day-cares on site where parents can pop in for tea breaks and have lunch with their children or be on call for emergencies. Children catch illnesses from school all the time, it’s what develops their immune system. It's up to prents to form pressure groups and ensure workplaces have a family friendly culture, it won't just be handed to them. -
I think it would be annoying to get too many calls from someone during the day without reason. Better to save it for proper face to face catching up in the evening.

This is truly sad, Allah u naxariisto all those who lost their lives. They should bury the dead and plan a new show for tmwr. The dogs operate by fear. Clearly they were offended by this: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iQjIOHMjPK51-FCwG_rb8QFEGWLQ?docId=c06ff8580e4a427ca0e20fc037566c76 -
Ngonge, of this month? And you haven't got a tkt? That's calling it close. I'm dreading the olympics, the transport system is already overcrowded, I really dont know how they plan to ferry around an extra few 100 thousands or so.

There is something painful about doing the two-step while being crushed/crowded by 300 'close family and friends'. Good luck to the happy couple.

I couldn’t get passed the first minute. I feel very strongly against disciplining a child through violence, even a slap is damaging because it humiliates the child. When you hit a child all they remember is the pain and not what you tell them. The other day on my way home I overheard a Somali mother calling her 5 year old son an obscenity. At first I thought she was on the phone but whe I turned the child looked distraught. There are more ways to damage your child than hitting.

Somalina thanks for the pics, I haven't seen any recent pictures of the place. Let others argue about their preference for who does the raping & killing (Ethios or Alshabab). I would love to see more pics of the lands across Somalia itself, broken and colourful buildings are all over Somalia.

^^ Yeah right! lol

Why were you driving so fast? Didn't you see the signs warning of near-by wild life? Poor animal! I hope you feel suitably bad Zack...
-
There are still 6 DAYS left ppl, dont think about Eid, make the most of fasting. The best Eids are those that are not planned to death.

That is very sad, Ilahey ha so hanuuniyo.

Lol Juxa maybe she wasn’t planning to cook today... Val, that’s very normal in most of that country, especially the Turkish communities. They did the same when I was in Gothenburg for Ramadan a few years ago, Turkish and East European Muslims, everyone brought food and ate at the mosque, whole families, it was very nice. It must be a cultural thing. My local mosque which is run by Siri Lankans cook afur & sahur for everyone every night, but I doubt many Somalis eat there though. I think tea & toast will do today.
-
Yes it's a war zone, what's your point?
-
FB, I only tried the desert, can’t comment on the food. I have run out of inspiration for afur or for food all together even looking at it is blah...I think it might taste better if someone else prepared it for me for once.
-
Don believe in much of this hype of so called ‘carrot’ or ‘avacado’ conditioners, they probably have a tiny weeny bit of the actual food in it, more of a flavor. What I meant was cracking eggs on one’s head is definatley a waste of food. Aragan oil is Moroccan oil and has been used for thousands of years. Make sure it is pure aragan oil though because lots of products claim to be aragan oil and only have 5% of it. Real 100% should cost about £15 but you only need a little each time. Don’t get the much hyped Moroccan Oil brand, it is unethically processed by Israelis in Israel. And in any case, it is not pure & has a very low percentage of actual Aragan oil.

I liked the 27 types of Cheese cake at the Seattle branch of the Cheesecake Factory, sadly only managed one though. I have yet to have Sahuur this year... I feel so cheated.

It all sounds very silly trying to convince people why you cant be together anymore.
