  1. supuu you can have veggie sambuus. patato filled ones and all type of ones, we have fish in ours, haven't eaten a minced meat one for years. im glad im not in turkey. but let them go on and on, now that there are talks to join the Eu they will be more desparate to appeare more european and thus less islamic. but i think its exactly this kind of course, when it runs its course, that will lead to an islamic revival. when ppl have had enough of empty success and promises. at least i hope so.
  2. We have sambus on weekedends. I like to eat light food such as brown bread, cheese, fruits, salad. Sambus is fun but you will miss out on lots of nutrition if you stuff yourself with burr the whole month. I like to eat once, after afur I'm done till the next day. I hate praying tarawiix on a full stomach.
  3. north, you stole my destination, i read about that just yesterday and thought it would be grand.
  4. I understand now why God has created eternal hell for some ppl. I'm so sick of these ppl absolving the blame of pure evilness. Everything nowerdays is a mental condition or problem, why can't they just accept evil exists in ppl and it is a very present reality? I pray for the family, I hope somali parents talk to their children about these things so that they can have an open relationship.

    Got Milk?

lol i remember one night i was at a wedding, and this woman was walking home because she lived close by, and my aunt was like, wait up, you don't want to get raped or attcked. the lady is like 55 and she replies, oh no worries, 'abal aan ugo qaba' even if i does happen. it reminded me of the granny.
  7. It's lack of education & lack of will as far as I can see. I remember one Islamic lecture I attended whilst at uni, and the speaker, a convert black professor, stated that half of the spirit of Islam is dead, because its women are dead. I think cultural barriers will be more difficult to break. Muslims value the rules of their culture even more so than religion. Men have their identity defined against what a 'woman' should be, and thus if her role were to change it would throw his into a limbo. I think women in Islam will not go forward unless they experience a kind of 'sufferage' within the bounds of Islam to bring their religion alive.

    Breast Cancer

Lexus you twisted girl, who would want to watch that? That's like setting yourself up to throw up. Yuck! Yes its good to know as much as you can about breast cancer, I think family history is important, eating healthy & excersizing helps too.
  9. Oh so that's what all the drama is about? Move on, love is given freely it doesn't need a bodyguard. Better a cheating boyfriend than a cheating hubby.
  10. All talk, talk and more talk, yet no one is willing to undertake the slightest change in their everyday life. We enjoy our conveniences, so deal with the consequences. The way I see it its pure selfishness, 'I won't be alive what does it matter?' attitude won't get us far.
  11. Whatever happened to treat others as you wish to be treated? Especially your loved one. Seems like that's aksing too much these days.
  12. I think most Muslims do use Islamic law regarding inheritance/family affairs and such as it is already, it is not as if they need permission to do these things. I don't see how this will help Muslims in Canada? As for Muslim countries, I cannot think of any one individual who could be trusted to administer Sharia law fairly, the issue of abuse will always be there.
  13. Yes it has been raining for most of last week, looking a little up, still clowdy. You might need a jumper or a light jkt. Do whatever the police ask you to and you ll be fine, you dont want to get shot. As to what is there to do in london, pleanty to sum up, go to www.thisislondon.co.uk. Hope that helps.
  14. Well, I really loved the gypsy skirt and all the metalic craze, the big belts, but now, everywhere I turn around someone is wearing them. I hate looking like everyone else. In a few weeks they will all be out of fashion, what happened to 50's style? 40s elegenace? (although I'm told its making a big come back for autumn). I prefer the classic pieces that look elegant and wont date too quick. I do like the sophisticated safari look. Bags are just a delight, in crocodile textures in every colour really brighten up my work suits, and nice heels to match.
  15. I'm reading Harry Potter , I also just finished reading 'Across the Nightingale Floor' set in 10th century Japan, It's one of the best books I have read so far. The culture, rigid rules, class, life and death and love is so fascinating. I'm writing children's lit so no deep adult stuff for me just yet. THe DA Vinci Code was good, I read it before all the hype, it tells us nothing new? We all knew Jesus married and had kids? Its as good as a thriller, but thats about it.
  16. I thought it was a joke. Came back from lunch and people's sandwich bags were being searched again and there was a big que for ID checks, I knew something was up. Then they made an announcment about 'several incidents' (I'm beginning to hate that word)and we had further updates till home time. No one was hurt, relax people. Although it was rather funny how a man was 'chased' and he could have been 'asian or black'. Get your story right. I thought it was just a copy cat. And the police skanning the UCL hospital like they were in a rambo movie...
  17. Lexus you deserve to be slapped...
  18. I first got hooked when we studied it for a Children Lit class. I have a copy, I am reading it as you are typing away ppl. It's so exciting I don't want to finsih it. Harry does not die, otheriwse there would be no book 7. I heard there will be a sad death, better not be Ron or Herm. How much more death can a kid take? XU, Voldermort is as strong as ever now that the DeathEaters have re-grouped and he once again at large. In this book muggle and magic world will interwined, get ready for it ...
  19. We heard the loud clapping of the director, 'That's it for today!' he bellowed. We started walking slowly towards the crew, stepping carfully over equipment, drained by the intense emotions we had to display. I followed my nostrils to the garden where a table of coffee mugs were laid out with danish butter cookies. My mind drifted away to what I would do this evening... OF dreams of fame and whom I would take to our premier... ------------------------------------------------- You sickos, had to get voilent didn't you? It could have been something beautiful...
  20. Ok boys, the tit for tat arguments are not getting you far. Make it simple, very simple: 1) We don't have to agree with Irag/Afghan war 2) We don't have to agree with Bush/Blair foreign policies. 3) We all know that these unjust policies opress the islamic world, specifically Iraq/Palastine. 4) We know a lot of Muslims feel frustrated that their culture, religion and way of life is being attacked BUT Under no circumstances can any of the above (or any other frustrations) even be justified for the killings of the innocent people of London, most who were against the war and Bush to begin with. I think the Muslim community should do more to isolate criminals who seek glory for themsleves, and make life difficult for millions of Muslims in Europe. They are the true enemy of Islam.
  21. All the child will get from this is money, and a lifetime of humiliation, what a cruel mother he has!

    London Nomads

I got on the tube this morning and it wasn't as full as it usually is. I think a lot of ppl stayed at home. It was difficult reading the papers, didnt help much. Sue, you have nothing to apologise for or fear. Rahima, there was an old man in a khamis and hat and beared, ppl kept staring at him, it made me so mad, he wasnt even carrying anything? Justa piece of paper, I swear I was about to shout at the man sitting opposite me who moved away from him as if he was a disease. Keep your heads up, the last thing you need to do is hide like you are guilty of something. Having said that, stay safe, pleanty of ignorant people out there who will take advanatge of this.
  23. All I can say is God protect us from the enemy within, the ones who claim to be Muslims in their desparate attempts to search for some kind of life-transcending sick glory. I missed one of those trains by mins, had I gone the other way I would have most certainly been on the King's Cross train. Im glad I was late.
  24. We not all lazy, this is how mine went & im in london: 6 30 am wake up 7 watch news drink tea 7 30 leave the house 9 get to work 1 pm lunch, yea buy some shoes 2 back to work 5 wkend begins 6 30 arrive home eat and be merry, chill out...
  25. Doing something thoughtful that has a lot of meaning to you, even when others think its nonesense . All these red roses and choclates are so cliche, they have no meaning.
