Zafir, already know but thanks anyway. You have to pay them a fee and if they don't find you a job within 6 months you get your money back. So far they seem promising because I have heard from them with a number of great vacancies. Are you looking for work in Dubai Zafir?

It's not a big deal, let them hold a thousand demonstrations. National Secular Society, do these people not realize they are a form of opression themselves? What happens when you enforce secular values on people, regardless of their faith? They become more extreme.

This is classic.

But she is still single as no plans appear to be afoot for marketing an Islamic equivalent of Ken, as giving her a boyfriend would be seen inappropriate in conservative Muslim cultures. That was just halrious.

No a child borne out of love, duh, regardless of tribe since the parents are of tribe X and Y.

Rahma, love the bag, looks like one that can be taken for stroll in Monaco. I saw a stunning one in Fenwicks and it's affordable too.

Young, successful, well paid: are they killing feminism?
-Lily- replied to -Serenity-'s topic in General
Women have to decide what is truly feminism, those who advocate that women need to behave like men to get respect/status are the most unfeminist of all. One, women do not become less alturistic just because they are career women. Secondly, if you look in schools, there are still more women teachers than men,is she not a female prof? Similarly, more female nurses than men. Thirdly, the fact is if you work in the 'city' and are SINGLE you are expected to do hours like 8 am to 9 pm, at least if you want to progress. That's why the first thing you sign is to opt out of a 48 hours working week. Fourthly, women who work like the 'elite women' she is talking about want to be in a position of success before (and IF at all) they decide to have children. If they reach a certain senior level in their jobs they would have more flexebility of being their own boss. For example, the senior partner at my sisters Law firm worked non stop for 10 years, now she comes in 2 days a week and gets paid a ridicules amount. She also has 5 days to look after her two children. Fifthly, having less children is not necesserily due to more women working. Life is expensive and the avarge family cannot afford to have more than two children. If you have noticed, at the risk of generalising, it's affluent families who tend to have 3-4 children. This working & being mothers debate will never quiet end, soley because it is incredibly difficul t to strike a balance. There is now more literature and awreness on job-sharing senior posts. So it might just be a matter of time. I'm still optimistic that you can still 'have it all'. -
Try baige/caramel trousers or black bottoms, with a similar coloured shirt. If you are wearing a pink/brown shirt, a brown trousers would look more neat because you don't want to wear too many colours or you will not be taken seriously.

loooooooool@trading standards, you should be arrested.

Very interesting article although it doesn't state anything new, apart from the fact that 'it's out there' now.

Xishood is more relevant when you are face to face with someone. I think he just likes a bunch of shy girls fainting at his feet.

Why am I not suprised.

No Danyer, I wasn't shocked by that, I was shocked by 'Give them to moryans. That will teach her.' comment.

Bisinka danyer, that's the worst thing I have heard so far. Partying does not equal whoring. You are all forgetting that this teen who has lost her way is still in many ways a child in transition. I think it's very bad parenting to let go of your child when they need you the most. A parent can relax when the child is fully grown up, not when they appear to look like adults. I would suggest the parent have more patience and if that doesn't work then perhaps she should be removed from her environment to reflect on what kind of life she has been leading. Most certainly not to Somalia, maybe another place. Kids who have been send back have access to guns, drugs and see worse kind of behaviours than they would here.

 ^^ excuse for everything.

Sheh, the skirt is hot, but I got the brown one, its even nicer than the black.

Whilst these problems can be appreciated, I refuse to accept that it's a condition that will paralyze your entire life. Any human being can help themselves regardless of their past experience.

Yes well you tend to think having an office job is great when you're a student but then you realize that anything that involves moving around and using your hands is better than becoming stooped and damaging your wrists.

I wish they would give Muslim writers or scholars or activists these kind of awards. Sad wallahi.

Ahura, I know ppl drink absurd gallons of tea per day laakin I'm not sure if it's exactly good or not? It's also a work-cluture, even if you are not a coffee addict the minute you start working you would find yourself just going along with them until you are a serious addict. I have 2 cups a day, sometimes one. One in the morning and one in the evening when I get back. So tea is still a treat for me.

Lord help us, now everyone is seeing the 'appealing' side of it.

Ok Rahima, Castro, now you're just trying to stir things up.

^^I second that Castro, shocking indeed.

Sheh, care to share the website? I think laptop, not for internet though but for writing, I missed it more than my family on my last holiday. I don't really care too much for my mobile, it's nice to get lost some days without being available for 24 hours. Yahoo, when you can spell it in the right order, I told you to work on your attention span. Ahura, Earl Grey is truly delicious, but it's not the same if it is not served in china, the whole thing is downplayed in paper cups. I hardly drink tea or coffe when I'm working, and it used to drive me mad when collegues ask every two seconds if I wanted one, 'No I really cannot make the 2 seconds journey to the tea room'. I think on the rare occasion I was to say yes to tea/coffee typing and telephone conversations would cease, so occasionally I like to shock them. Blessed, same can be said for our heating. lol@pick a partner and start crying, weird man.
