A really interesting article. A lot of discussion about the Vatician these days in documentaries and news leading up to the release of The Da Vinci Code. Well the same thing can be said for Muslims, who think Christians are their enemies in the West, no it's secularism. It very strong in this country, but not as bad as, say France. I remember going through school and university where the idea of God was 'laughable' to many. They tell you the want a world free of forced religion and doctrines but don't realize they are forcing their own views on you. The more you force people to be Secular the more extreme they become, it's a simple fact. I mean look at Egypt right now. When the current oldies die out a new generation of 'radical' Muslims will take their place. The first mistake they make and they never get over is that they call Islam 'just a religion' so why can't it take back seat like other religions? Well we know what it is. Islam is in effect the last great religion standing. Christianity has long been walked all over.

This might be an 'calacal' letter but it's excellent. The Iranian president is not bombing anyone, he is not burning anything down or shooting at anyone, he is writing a diplomatic leter, he is being 'civalized'. This is nothing unique to Sland and Somali ppl in Somalia have the same problem all over the place. They use khat to forget their situtation. I don't like this whole Slanders vs The Others/ Non-Slanders/Original Somalis etc. It's a sophisticated form of qabilism since it sets several tribes from one region of Somalia against another set from another region. Look we are all free to direct our energy somewhere and do some good if we can. If a child is sick or hungry it is GOOD (for those of you who don't know the difference) to help out, same goes for Africa, Palastine, Latin America and anywhere else on this planet. Children are innocent, regardless of where they were born or into what faith. Not only Muslim children are worth helping. So if the sister wants to do something let her get on with it.

K, it's the same old problems and no one can change them or wants to change them. Poor housing, broken families, ghetto areas, drugs, violence, no hope etc. I understand where you are coming from but at the same time, think of those children who actually want to learn and whose classes are interrupted by (not being racist here, they are mainly black) rowdy children. I think any kind of 'help' will be useful. It will be hard for them to convince the American public or congress to go into Somalia after the failure of the previous attempt.
