  1. Germany won, the most excruciating two hours. We all know now who is going to win the cup, don't we? The 'experienced' team couldn't keep it together and had to get quiet physical. Some people should eat their words

One does wonder why Israel is told to 'show restraint' when it's using uneccessary force but if Hamas moves it's 'condemnation'. Best solution is for 2 states. Now Hamas need to do something. What have they done so far?
  3. ^^Unfortunately they know you are obliged to reply back if they say Salama Aleykum. I think you can be civil and decline politely without looking any less gracious on your part. You just have to be ressilient and have tough skin.
  4. They are the same age, how does that make her an old mama? the woman is stunning last I checked.
  5. Sorry dear never experienced that kind of heat, but ice cream is good anytime of the year.
  6. Germany will win the World Cup, they started strong and have not even drwan once, and they have the home advantage not to mention a very organised and strong team. Deutschland is on, and they CAN beat Argentinia. Every team in the Quarter Finals is 3 games away from the Cup if they win. It's not as impossible as it looks.
  7. He just scored, poor Spain, they held out and lost it towards the end. But both teams were equally talented, I guess the better team won.
  8. I'm not too shocked. But Brazil won't win the World Cup (I hope).
  9. Well if you haven't met the someone who captivates you 100% why bother dating others? Some people need to be always seen with someone, others are content as they are.
  10. Depending on the right event both dirac & guntiino have their good qualities I guess. Not everyone can wear guntiino, you would need a faboules figure. As for dirac it's for all, I can't stand the massive ones now. Might as well wrap a duvet arount myself. Not many people wear guntiino because its more revealing I think. But I do like guntiino.
  11. I do feel pity for the dad, but he should have known better.
  12. LoL Hizb I'm glad someone shares my sentiments. The two teams that I wanted most to go home were Holland and Italy, unfortunatley the latter made it through. Just because past players were great doesn't make you great now. If the Italians were so great they would have scored better & more goals. They are the masters of 1-0. I am glad Portugal won, Engaland will find it easier to defeat them. Holland would have been harder, even though Portugal beat Holland. I can also see Germany beating Argentina.
  13. That was a bad way to end the game, I'm no fan of penalties. The Aussies played much better than the Italians I thought. Oh well, not worry, I can't see the Italians winning it.
  14. I like the simple classical tones. I heard the Somali tunes ones but not impressed so far. I think it's bad taste when phones ring at inappropriate times, rather than the tunes themselves like Jamilah mentioned at the mosque or loud ring tones at a wedding or in a gathering or meeting.
  15. I am shocked they made it to second round, but it's nice to see some underdogs making it. We seem to have the same old boys club.
  16. You let them reach that far?
  17. First and foremost it's always convenient that men forget when Allah recomends one. Getting back to the topic, it's common that other men edge happlily married men on to start something. They always tease my dad because he is still married to one lady. It's disgusting, now they have the excuse that his children have grown up and he is free. I'm sure teenagers need their dad the most. Besides that, now is the time he should be relaxing with his Misses and getting weekly visits by grandkids not running after new children of his own. It's strange that there arent many Somali familes who are still married in old age. Luckily for us we don't have to say anything, my mum has an excellent way of making people want to eat their words. It's very bad taste when someone tries to plant problems for happily married people
  18. I feel for his family. The journalist was only covering their plight. Another senseless killing.
  19. ^^^looooooool Alle Ubahane, Sorry I cant continue arguing with you. Clearly you are of a bygone age. If it was filthy Allah wouldn't have created it and it serves a function. Get over it. It won't be long before we read about your jail sentence either
  20. You are all talking about education; time is running out for these girls, no amount of education will save them. Its here and now for them. I think the fact that so many Somali women have been mutilated and survived does not make it an excuse for others to continue doing it. When girls had FGM performed on them back home, it was a national thing; everyone else had either undergone it or would be. Now it's a completely different thing, the psychological damage must be unimaginable, where your parents take you from a safe place to have you mutilated all in the name of 'naqan'. I wonder how some would react if it was a child that was physically beaten every time, I'm sure that would get more sympathy rather than FGM which too many are too desensitized to. Alle Ubahane, culture has no use when it is harmful. Before you open your mouth next time perhaps you should do some research into the harm caused by FGM to the female health? I wonder if it is a mere coincidence that Somali women have the highest death rate in the world whilst giving birth. These kinds of 'cultures' as you call will be gone sooner than you can blink. And just because parents choose not to harm their children does not mean they have been 'westernized'. Valenteenah I completely agree with you. As for The Point and others, you are arguing over technicalities and terms, there is nothing ambiguous about the fact that removing God given body parts is not only immoral but also a punishable crime. To plead ignorance is pathetic. It's too bad for this Somali dad, perhaps his punishment will save countless other Somali girls.
  21. It's plain wrong and we all know it deep down, regardless of where we are from.
  22. I don't see what's so shocking about SB's comment, I thought the same thing but knew Amelia wouldn't post such a thing here and was just another attention grabbing title, very interesting article, skimmed through it, will be back with comments.
  23. The biggest problem that Somalia faces right now is people who hold on to old ideals and refuse dialogue and are hellbound om rocking the boat (eg,. Abdullahi Yusuf). I am doubtful of the ICs but at least no matter how dangerous they may be viewed they are willing to talk and thus show they are reasonable. The current TFG is an absolutle disgrace and had they done their job properly there would have been no need for the Islamic Courts.
  24. I blame the women in the family too for failing to protect the girl. They should know of the consequences if the father was too 'ignorant'.
