CL, don't get too frustrated. The media has its own agenda, go do some research on who runs it and who owns it in this country . Some muslims need to realize that the world wasnt build just for them. It's easy to to advocate violence but a lot harder to convince & encourage a pious and peaceful life. Val, I agree laakin you also have a responsibilty to defend your faith by correcting misinformation. We shouldn't have to apologise for the Qur'an, no matter whom it offends.

What on earth? I think this must be a joke or the women he married are just freaky by nature.

Libax, it might be clean but I doubt its the most beautiful. There are many more squares with character and histroy, cobbled lined and surrounded by less so obvious new developments. More like what you associate with it makes it beautiful. I'm anti-modern crap.

I don't drink coffee, I have one cup of tea (preferebly Ear Grey) in the morning and maybe one in the evening, if I am working. Otherwise one in the morning will do. I like the smell of coffee but cannot handle the cafine in them! It's a mild drug, I don't know how some ppl can have so much. Legend, it's good to know you got there in one piece

Whatever the benifits, I am disturbed she had to undergo unecessary surgeries. So if you are disabled/mentally handicapped you haven't got the right to grow up? I find that very sinister. They chose to have the child, now they should see it through. I find this worse than those parents who choose to abort a severely disabled child.

Women are not commodities  don't waste your time on lists, once you meet Mr Charming or Miss Charming it all goes out of the window and something else takes charge that you can't quiet put your finger on.

^^ It is only too typical.

Lazy wallahi you made me laugh. It wouldnt hurt if he added please. A strong man doesn't necessarily mean a violent or 'hardcore' man. SB, we don't need anyone to compete with us for make up.

funny. A doctor actually said that to me once, but my reaction will stay with him for some time. Yes happy b'day.

lol@you are all beasts. I think this discussion is pointless. If you want to wear hijab wear it, if you don't spare us. Lets leave the sisters who do wear full hijab in peace, regardless of how scary, unfashionable or pointless it may seem to you  . There are many more reasons besides avoiding male attention women wear hijab, for example to remind themselves that the body is temporary and the soul eternal, and that the emphasis should be on your soul not how 'hot' you look. Most of all, men should get past their arrogance, women wear it for the sake of Allah. I mean if a man asked you to cover up and it wasn't decreed by Allah (SWT)just how many women would? It takes a lot of courage & self discipline to wear such a full-on hijab.

The second red is amazing. All a bit over the top for graduation no?

Oh, bloody hell, whatever the equivilant to grammer school is out there then!

Congrats Baashi, I think maybe you should consider a grammer school, take the entrance tests at 7+ and he might find school work more stimulating with children of his own level. I don't think all private schools are necessarily great schools. My younger sister, who is very much gifted (she's 15 now) used to be very bored in school, uninterested in homework and so on. Her teachers often said she was above her age group academicaly. So she got a scholarship for a private school and is now doing 'A' level Maths, (has 3 GCSEs already) and is pridicted to get 7 A*. The point is, she goes to school where everyone in her class is an A or an A* student, so she works harder and is challenged more. Basically, your kid needs to be challenged to feed his mind and to make it grow. Like Ngonge said, education is outside school too. So libraries, museums, galleries, science camps, anything like that will help.

Ibtisam, don't you know most adults are scared of teenagers and kids in this country? People don't want to be confronted with a knife. The most annoying thing is when people smoke at a bus stop and it's raining. Why must everyone else breathe in the cancer smell?
-
I guess it helps if there are no secret skeletons that will haunt you later on. How can you take a leap of faith without trusting and knowing your partners past? I expect all the details, told voluntarily of course.

^^ I hate that phrase, it's the most annoying phrase in the Swedish langauage. Layze I'm quiet tired about Muslim news in the press.

Femme, I read somewhere that the prophet adviced men not to get married if they could not afford to because it was unislamic to beg. Im not sure how absolutely true this is. By the way Femme, what made you think God hasn't provided for them? Corruption and misery are man made. Most developing countries could really feed their people if the wealth/resources were equally distributed? I know it is difficult but I trust in the greater wisdom of Allah, He knows what we don't.

Cynical Lady whilst I agree with you, it is not having a baby that is a challenge it is raising a child and working. No one said it was impossible . As for Iron Lady, most women and men get seriously responsible jobs in politics at 40+ .
