  1. ^^ LOL Zafir, don't blind the poor woman. This had me laughing Islam does recognize happy occasions that bring people closer to one another, and add spice to their lives
  2. Ibti, if you get any free time, plant trees! They make everything look more prettier. I have this project in mind maybe you could help out once you are settled, and you'd be good at it because its relvant to your field. As for literacy, thats crap, maybe not in Somali, but kids as young as 5 all over Somalia/Somaliland know arabic alphabet because of dugsi quran, and they must be able to read that.
  3. ^^ Eeew CC, I havn't laughed so hard in ages. Since everyone is giving advice, buy the hottest basbees (hot chilli) you can find, blend it till it becomes puree and put it on your whole body, that should work
  4. LoL@more older broke women. Where do you find these articles? You see this article teaches you that your lone neighbour may be a millionaire, so go over and have a cuppa with them, you should anyway.
  5. ^^^Thats because he was convinced xamari must be sugery or lies. He wouldnt be the first.
  6. Well hodman, it was only my 3rd week at this job, must make good impression. Besides, I had 2 hr meeting, couldnt just not show up. This time next year maybe...
  7. I can't believe ppl missed work for a few inches. If I managed to get three trains instead of my usual two and battle with my umbrella surely you could have as well. What an excuse to miss work!
  8. As Cambaro pointed out, why do you have to take the 'wrong' behaviour at all?
  9. How about importing medicine? As for NGOs, sorry but not all of them provide desparately needed services (unless its health). Most of them are part of the problem. Good luck ibti and keep us updated.
  10. Oh, you guys were serious? Wow, brave ppl! I recognise two ppl on the Facebook
  11. So what if women talk? I don't see how that is negative at all, not that I personally believe in unecessary speech.
  12. I agree with Val, but not just when you're sick or stressed is 'not doing anthing' valuable. There never is such a thing as 'not doing anythig'. You're always doing something, its just how much that 'thing' is valued by yourself or others. Who says time is valuable only when we sell it? I mean that's the case with working, you are selling your time. Or if you're a student you're exchaning your time in hope of better work prospects and so on, thus your time is still regarded as 'valuably spent'. And if I am bored and 'not doing anything' it's very expensive? I beg to differ. It all comes down to what is actally perceived as 'valuable time spending'. Now, does that make sense?
  13. Lily, that's a white lie, I say ! Xiin not really, I already know what they look like, the ones I was curious about that is Besides, apart from the newbies, most Lonodn nomads have at one point or the other met at get togethers and gatherings or know of one another. Anyway, it would be rather boring if we knew what everyone looked like, a little mystery never hurt anyone.
  14. LoL@ calool fuusto, hey I think it's an American thing if it's true, so don't blame the old man. Paragon looks very benevolent and wise, wheather that is true or not is debateble. I'm not really curious about how ppl look

    SOL Nomads

My macawis off to you ladies.lol LoL, do keep it on...your hat will do just fine. SOL is a place that reminds me that normal Somalis exist. It keeps me entertained for a while, then I have periods where I can't be bothered with it. I have made some friends through here and also found some old ones. So all in all, thumps up.
  16. It's an ongoing effort Jonny B, no? There are a lot of little things you can do on a daily basis, if you do that continuously you might not save the world, but at least you'll die with a clear conscience.
  17. Cambaro, Have you seen the movie Green Street? I would love to go to a football match, Arsenal playing of course, although ppl use it as the perfect excuse to swear and be violent. MMA, nice pic. All this time I imagined you to be a skinny blick guy with glasses, well I was right about the glasses.
  18. The Mysterious guy/Arrogant B*stard This is probably the guy a lot of women will be fascinated by, purely because he happens to come across as a challenge. Nonetheless, once Xalimo figures out there really is no mystery behind Mr. Mysterious and he is all talk...an empty shell, she'll swiftly move on to Mr. Straight Up & Right. Leaving Mr. Mysterious still in an endless state of a perceived, not actual, coolness.
  19. MKA Younis, Firstly, I haven't even read your post, rather skimmed through it. Secondly, I refuse to be dragged into a 'regionalised' superiority of dialects, which will only lead to 'how wonderful & mighty my clan is'. Pathetic.
  20. Somali is Somali, will you get over yourselves? As for 'gabi', it's the new 'in' word to throw around, most of you only found out what the word meant last year or so
  21. ^^^qarxis.com Should have bribed them all to keep their mouth shut.
