Don't worry, just make sure you have good relations with your kids so that when they come home you can de-programme everything they've been told that isnt to your liking. There are gay parents at my brothers school, I think kids are aware of this already so its just a bit of extra unecessary bulls*it.

I cannot believe how beautiful its out there today, feel like skipping instead of walking.

Allah unaxariisto, did the killers get a long jail term? Can you please remove the picture of the deceased. It's very inapropriate and graphic.

What amazing pictures, thanks for sharing. I like the last one, the Faraxs look so warrior-like. Nice

You find a way to disassociate the idea of being Somali from all these horrid things and, at a click of a finger Erm, doesn't being Proud in essence mean focusing on the good things? I have yet to see anyone from any nation being 'proud' of anything negative.

Serenity, would have been lovely to see you but your wallet will do just as nicely... enjoy your Indian do.

They all wear Japanese mirco skirts and the (female) school inspectors land in helicopters with an armed squad on their surprise attacks. Ooh yeah, and there are bike sheds .... looooool I don't think its clear if they are really Lesbos or just lack male attention. Still, its clearly wrong?

Not really Cara, I've just realized I've never owned a Somali passport. I need to have one made. Even if its just to look at.

 I find that very disturbing. I agree with Che, I wonder how boys are coping.

dont think of like that .. look closely and its beef with garlic and coriander Nope, it still looks nasty, too brownish to be healthy meat. Now don't make us gag...I have stared at it longer than necessary.
-
Do any of you own Somali/Slander passports? Exactly my point
-
Dog meat looks nasty, I don't approve of eating 'exotic' meats. "Everybody is eating dog meat openly now, that is why dogs are scarce," he says. That had me laughing.

Cambarro, Advice your boss to re-arrange his face and then he can find some good use for his surgery vouchers. That's the crulest thing I've ever heard!

I think female bosses by nature have to ‘prove’ they’re as tough as their male counterparts hence the reason they might be more inclined to be less friendly and have a more cold/professional outlook. There are more male bosses simply because women take time out of work to raise children and will not be promoted as soon as men. My last boss was female, she was cool and had a fabulous dress sense, and we always ended up talking about clothes when not working. Before that I always had males, I don’t mind them. What kind of ‘female’ issues could you possibly discuss with your boss? I thought work was work and that’s that?

My Dear Taliban, Your suspicious are well founded. Who are we to just take ppl’s money? How can I guarantee my money won’t be used to fund yet another militia? Or more sinister, who lives in that region and why should I give them money? This mistrust is one that has stopped many from wanting to donate. We have contacted one major Islamic Relief agency that actually works inside Somalia. Their response was they are more than happy to accept our donation but we cannot decide where and how it is spend. Unfortunately because of the extensive violence in the Mogadishu area most relief agencies willing to work in Somalia are based elsewhere. The truth is ONE of the ppl who are most in need at the moment are those who are stuck in Mogadishu and have been affected by the recent violence. We could have organised something huge, something that would take more time, and more money to organise, to advertise and so on. But then we thought why spend money on organising an event whose sole purpose is to RAISE money. Not to mention how much Baraka will come out of a rave or other such events that have in the past been used as an excuse to raise money. The point of a fundraiser is to raise money, not to spend it. We are not professional organisers nor do we have the time to organise such an event as help is needed NOW not in a couple of weeks. Secondly, ppl in London unfortunately have not been very forthcoming with help. The same question of ‘How do I know how my money is spent?’ is used to slam doors in your face. Surely £20 is something you can part with? We spend more than that on one dinner. There is no limit or level of money that you can donate. Like North said, it’s just a bunch of friends who decided to help out in a small way. Even if we raise £100-200 that will be a job well done as it can help someone in need. We leave the big Dos to the pros. We are hoping ppl will donate with good intention, a chance to increase your sadaqa and do it for the sake of Allah. And if, God forbid, the money is mislaid Allah will still award you for your good deeds. As far as I know, the money is being sent via a major Xawalad, to be collected by an esteemed wadaad who will in turn inform as how pence by pence of it was spent(on things like blankets, painkillers etc). There may even be photographic evidence. The truth is you will never know 100% unless you trust, I know it’s a difficult thing but we are not asking for 100s of pounds. Dijib , there is an account where ppl can donate...I ‘ll get the details. Legend, thanks mate

A friend of mine is organizing a mini fundraiser, an afternoon of tea & refreshments to donate money for the recently displaced victims of Mogadishu, the money will be used to aid overflowing hospitals. This is not a super Do and the emphasis is based on collecting money not spending it. See you all there then! Here is the e mail: ------------------------------------------------- Dear all, We have planned a get-together to lend our support to the victims of recent shelling in the capital and help those less fortunate Insha Allah. It will be a fun, informal afternoon of seeing friends and catching up, and more importantly giving a little of the blessings you have received. The meeting will be on: When: 10th March 2007 Time: 4:30pm to 7pm Where: Iman restaurant 175 Seven Sisters Rd London, UK N4 3NS TEL: 0207-2634122 Closest Tube Station: Finsbury park (2 min walk) Please be there on time, and bring your friends with you, and should they refuse, their wallets will suffice. If you live outside of London, you can still get involved and donate money. Please do get in touch as we are counting on you. We would let you know where you can send your contribution. -------------------------------------------------

I was about to say the same thing^^^. Humans back then were not any less smarter. Word of mouth was and is still a powerful tool.

I'm still waiting for mine. Really excited about now.

Ibtisam, I think sometimes the path is blurred or in Somalia's case totally obstructed, and if you can't help yourself then may GOd help you to find the strength and will to help yourself. Either way, you'll always need God's help .
-
Don't worry Paragon, it still feeds into your black and white theory then, that its all about power and Isreal was just being true to its realist ambition. Ibitisam, while I agree with you, human loss is equally bad.
-
Paragon, Putting all feelings aside, granted the response was disproportionate but didn't Lebanon violate Israel's right to sovereignty by shooting rockets into its territory to begin with? Regardless if a building was smashed or people died? Unless that is we are to believe that Israeli troops were inside Lebanese borders to begin with. So it’s really a case of tit for a very huge tat.

Taliban, Allah knows best, how can you be so certain? I thought we were not just referring to a select group of women but the idea that women can contribute to the teachings of Islam? And do you deny that they can?
