  1. Flowers & bold prints are everywhere and it’s Spring (well almost). I was thinking along the lines of a dress that can be worn again & again for summer evenings out, formal dresses are a once or twice type of dresses that sit at the back of your wardrobe. Anyway, Coast or Monsoon are your best bet. I love love this one. £200 monsoon £160 monsoon Gorgeous nude dress in Coast: £220 p.s. if you’re wearing a hijab cleavage should not really be a problem.

    Fitness Freaks

Ibti I'm suprised you're actually going along with this. Good luck! That list looks close enough to starvation. You need at least 1500 calories a day.
  3. Juxa, No just last friday. Is this supposed to be "revision". Go and log off!
  4. ^^Well they could spend their time writing songs for those with a voice but lacking imagination & getting their income from the royalties. Certainly they are past it.
  5. Hi all Juxa are you back at work? If not, when?
  6. All these pensioners should be eating digestive biscuits and reminiscing about the old days. They are all past it, it's embarrassing to watch them croak songs out…
  7. Sheh I know, I saw it, it’s very long too. A slim fitting nude, light cardigan and a skinny gold belt would look just as nice.
  8. Sheh, I was admiring that very dress this morning... Juxa & Malika, try Mango, they have smart maxi dresses that are not too formal & can be worn again and again. £80 £60
  9. Ok perhaps this culture thing needs another thread, how many times must I repeat myself. I am not arguing about reverts. I couldnt care less about how many men or women married foreigners, I doubt they even make up 1%, nor am I opposing them. But even you know it doesn’t make sense to compare a few thousand occupying forces in your native land to being a citizen in a country that is not yours (eg. UK).
  10. ^^^ Yes and they were seen as the 'enemy' and hardly everyone's cup of tea.
  11. Malika that sounds delicious. What's up LOZ?
  12. Afternoon ladies, Ms is mysterious. Mrs sounds very boring. you could start using Mrs when you're 50 maybe.
  13. Curly I agree. But even wilful neglect is different to planning the murder of your own child, which is pure evil and difficult to accept. Neglect on the other hand makes her/him an irresponsible, reckless parent who should not be allowed to look after children. As the saying goes, il ilkale ma alaliso. As in no one can watch and be everywhere all at once, so some counter measures should have been in place. Genuine horrific accidents do happen regardless though.
  14. I can’t imagine anyone sane killing their child. Poor baby. How exactly was the child killed? The BBC is saying it was neglect, so it may have been accidental. A man has also been arrested.
  15. Blessed, you know I don’t condone denying people the right to choose. If anything I find this attempt to control women's God-given right disturbing. Nor does it mean I support those who wish to ban or limit others. As for the culture thing, it is not so weak to some. In fact it's a first choice for many to go for someone who is from a similar background as them and to someone they don’t have to explain themselves to. It is part of the attraction. Some cultural differences can be a barriers, for example, in some south Asian cultures it is perfectly OK for the whole extended family including other in-laws to live in the same household. Unless there is an elderly parent or a young sibling with no home, tell me what Somali woman of our generation would stand for this invasion of privacy? What Somali woman would save for her daughters wedding dauri? The very idea is outrageous to Somali mothers. Anyway, to each his own. We should leave it at personal choice me thinks.
  16. Blessed, I do agree with you. I’ve never denied anyone their personal choice. Just as we accept that some Muslims prefer to marry white reverts or Nigerians or Jewish we must also accept that some Somalis can prefer to marry their own kind without being branded as prejudiced or unislamic. The reference to diluting culture was in response to Malika saying that there is nothing unique about being Somali. Of course there is, just as there is something unique about being Pakistani, Egyptian or Norwegian. It is too simplistic to say we are all Muslims and as such there are no cultural differences/ barriers between us. Even you have stated that one can maintain their culture/values despite the fact they married outside of their nationality.
  17. Malika, one can believe in one Ummah and still value their own culture and people (to be as important as everyone else). There is nothing wrong in appreciating my culture and wanting to continue and preserve it and choosing a life partner in line with this. It would be a boring world where everything was diluted and the only thing remaining was shared faith.
  18. SS, I thought perhaps the sister doesnt want her pic here. I dont know if she is a member or not...but that is beside the point.
  19. Well done to the kids, they just have to work harder than everyone else to beat ignorance.
  20. Duke, you need to separate the Arab world from being a Musilm, they make up only 18% of the world’s Muslims and to be honest they dont really represent the ideal anymore.

    Fastest Imam!

Why beat him though? I dont understand why violence is such an easy option to slip into.
  22. SS looool, choking on my tea. He sounds like someone that would be in a historic Somali romance novel, if there was such a thing, minus the lack of reading. Hi Cara, Ibti and Val.
