somali is one tribe=oromo ,kikuyu, amhara, fulani etc.Only problem is we r the only nation comprised of one tribe. We don't have any otha competing ones & so we compensated that with sub-clans! We need more oromos, afar, amhara in somalia ..that will stabilise. Then it will be somali & others like kenya & ethiopia; and maybe some dhaqan celis with their own unique westernized "hotdog" clan.

Everyone knows they refugees when urban somalis cross to ethiopia. They usually settle in camps(i.e. xashin) or go to big urban centers if they have money; a lot of us moved to Addis & otha towns deep inside Ethiopia; outside the somali region & they don't intend to come back atleast in the near future.Colonial politics aside, it's a fact we r in ethiopia; so wat you saying is it's o.k. for us & not for thm ,plus isn't it conceivable there could be some kind retribution...and what about the humanity side & the sensitivity of it all, specially us as a people who suffered so much & been refugees in otha countries for so long.Imagine somalis in Addis "only" told to leave tomorrow!!!! It seems we r neva going to learn! It's good for people to interact, intermarry, trade & feel at ease with each otha.....that will bring the collapse of these artificial borders & toward peace & prosperity.I see it the greatest achievement in the horn. And what have these so called leaders done for the people?Everything is built by ordinary folks..schools,universities,electricity,water,t.v,telephone cos, money exchange, roads, bridges, hospitals, etc.Let anyone tell me what they accomplished...they couldn't even make roads for the capital(Hargeisa). This is a cynical move to busy ordinary citizens so they won't be able to travel to ethiopia by road! for wat eva reason.....and certainly to rejuvenate hostilities.

NGONGE;744450 wrote: And you really believe that getting rid of a hundred thousand people (as the SL government claims) within one month gives everyone ample time to state their case or those genuine enough to be allowed to stay? You believe that a government that threatens its own citizens with "consequences" for helping such people is going to be fair to said people? This is correct in your eyes, is it? There are many acceptable ways that the government can deal with this. First of all, they can break these immigrants into different categories and give them different deadlines (for their cases to be looked out and heard). For example, a man that arrives today should not be treated in the same way to one that lived in SL for ten/fifteen years. A family with young children should not be pushed out unprepared, etc. But, most of all, the government should watch the way it speaks and deals with such issues. I believe they have failed on every count. WELL SAID....It's an earth scourging policy. For a somali who been/still there (in same situation)around 4 corners of the world to even contemplate such an idea is down right disgusting...Are we in some kind of suspense mood here!! Most somalis north of Mogadishu ran to Ethiopia when civil war broke out (and yes among oromos),and there r still 100,000s in addis. Are you people blind to ur surroundings & the ugly backlash that can come out of this.Yeeee far right groups in the west r right then..everyone go back to ur back yard.

OdaySomali;744313 wrote: Large parts of Ethiopia and Kenya are Ethnically Somali and the SOmalis liveing there are home and don't have to answer to some kikuyu or tigray about being on Somali soil. No, I'm talking about refugees from somalia proper who r 100,000s.It makes me sick as someone who lived in otha countries & know quite well the dislocation, disruption of poor families who r also ur kin! Such actions will haunt us...as a people we r not in a position to undertake such idiotic steps. After all we are africans...not caring, killing, maiming & creating all kind needless crisis is wat we know best. That is why dark continent always remain laughstock of the world!!!!!! Nothing amazes me anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine the impact it will have on us when the world hears ,of all people somalis are deporting others.

@Alderman: some women started dressing this way from late 80s on...brain washed !! Mogadishu was a classic city....this is when I find out ur not somali(not that I care, but you have little information when things get into nitty gritty). Why they fighting??!! same as in Afganistan & Pakistan; these nuts believe keeping fighting will ultimately lead to their victory! Turtles! They are nite gangsters.

Social debate:The real roots of the Somali conflict

Positive;743439 wrote: Thanks for your input Burahadeer. Although the traditional elders excell in peacemaking still their way of thinking is divisive in national level and it lends itself poorly to preserve or emancipate a nation state; theirs in a way is a form of lethargy which the majority of us who share their mindsett have a hard time shaking off. Even so it is the traditional elders who are best qualified to a peacemaking role now but then they should be willing to share the responsibility of the affairs of the nation with the other two elites. The best interest of the people can be served in that way otherwise without compromise it would be about conflict of interest and possibly continuation of the war with all it entails. The Awakener2 Traditional elders don't lead, they work behind the scenes in mostly consultation & peace making. They don't understand int'l relations. What I meant is they stabilise & then mostly educated ones, business people jump to the wagon. It's sharing...look at silaanyo & his cabinet ...they all highly educated. His chief of staff represent the religious elite as well very close to Dahabshiil. -

I remember growing up in Xamar in the late 80s and my mom and aunts used to wear gaarbosaar and that was sufficient. that's what shabab came up with; act this way & do your dirty jihad.Need to be thrown away.Garbasaar was beautiful.

God bless any one know if hunger eased off since so many shipments arrived lately & how many people died approximately?

adoption is fine if they find good family but who guarantees they don't fall into the hands of criminals/abusers/pedophiles etc.I think the best could be done is open orphanage boarding schools which is not really expensive. For 10,000 kids X $ 100= $ 1,000,000 a month( 1 million for 10,000 kids) and actually be less when they have same kitchen like most schools. That could be paid easy....and I doubt there r that many kids. For 10 yrs=120 million.....and hopefully won't be needed much longer. Any of those countries like gulf states , turkey or others will be eager to pay.It will be a pandora's box if we start adoption now---very soon you will see children stolen & sold in black market. There r cases I heard, don't know true. The psycological scars r worse in later life when children early on know they adopted..which is ofc obvious to them by difference of color of skin.
