The SNM - The most independent self funded guerrilla organisation

Mass migration is different from individual or small scale regular migration. And it’s caused by different factors but the overall main pull factor is political and economic conditions that are not favourable and appear to be further deteriorating. -
Your getting sidetracked, the topic is the Presidential candidates and where they stand on issues and it’s only natural for anyone, weather a community, clan, city, region or country to ask themselves where candidates stand on issues, and point made here is that Kheyre hasn’t achieved much on the issue of Somaliland even though he is now making promises. I think that judging candidates on their track records and where they stand on issues is quite healthy, and maybe something one should discuss more often.

For Farmaajo to get to-elected he needs to show a bit more modesty, showcase achievements but also issues that haven’t been tackled, admit some of his fault, promise changes to do better; reconcile with some of the more constructive opponents and attack other opponents who are spoilers, or on the bandwagons of foreign countries, war business profiteers, etc. p.s. miskiinka is exhausted, his been at this for last years day and night and needs a holiday to get some well deserved rest. @MMA, Mombasa geeya Farmaajo hasoo Nastee.

This is wrong! he should be meeting his MP colleagues to discuss their expectations, procedures and other issues concerning the agenda for the newly elected Parliament, not foreign signatories, he clearly doesn’t understand his role and responsibility. seminar ayuu u baahanyahay.

Irish Nationalists Win Historic Vote in Northern Ireland

Irrelevant of the UKs future, US and global competition is shifting more from the European continent to the Indo-Asian and Pacific regions and towards regional alliances such as with India. Europe and UK need to re-align and further integrate, if they want to play a role in the new competition for global dominance. look at the Ukraine crisis, which shows that Uk and EU still need each other and share even more challenges than before. -
Irish Nationalists Win Historic Vote in Northern Ireland

this is an adverse effect of Brexit which is becoming quite a disaster on the British islands. Northern Ireland might see a referendum on joining in 5 years, and rejoining the , which would mean the end of the United Kingdom and only Great Britain would be left, and if the Scottish Nationalist push through with their referendum on independence it could well mean the end , with only little England left. There is a lesson in here for those rejecting globalisation and rejoicing social, political and economic disintegration in the 21st century. -
And hopefully when it gets that kind of a President to achieve things he would need to appoint a PM who is modest, well educated, intellectual, strategic, structured, technical, critical, hard worker, good manager, team player, empowers, delegates, efficient &effective, targeted, result oriented, thinks outside the box, doesn’t copy paste others (read western governance) but adapts systems and structures to make them work in the Somali context. I am sure there many people who fit this profile, I know many Professors in Somalia who lead Universities, institutes, organisations and fit this profile but don’t think they are now running around as candidates but have to be properly scouted and recruited.

I hope Somalia finally elects a President who is a Servant leader not a Master, a Peace maker not an agitator, a mediator not an alianator, a seeker of compromise & consensus and not a seeker of conflict and clashes, someone who believes in harmony rather then discord, someone who is full of imagination and inventiveness and dares to dream and provide direction.

Not sure if Kheyre fully realizes the exact duty and priorities Somalia's leadership at this moment requires. As PM he was focussing too much on the wrong priorities such as exploration of natural resources, oil and gas production, attracting investors, debt relief, etc. And his resignation speech was quite off putting and dispiriting celebration of his own overinflated ego, referring to himself more than 40 times in 6 minutes. Aniga, Aniga this, and aniga that.

Egal aun was not the kind of leader to sell out the interest, will and aspirations of the people who elected for greed and blind ambitions for power. His history and track record attest to that. Having said that, you might have missed some other part and comments he makes y which is even more relevant today. you might want to listen to the parts in which he warns for Somaliland (government) not to behave in the same ways as the former Somalia did which Somaliland wants to separate from, otherwise it would defeat the purpose. And also the parts in which he states that recognition is not simply given as gift because of good behaviour or because you happen to want it, but it’s based purely on interest. And you might also want do some further homework on Egal’s effort towards end of 90’s to reconcile parties in Somalia and was instrumental in conceiving the Arteh Conference and TNG government, as he understood that civil war in Somalia was not in the interest of Somaliland, whereas some narrow minded folks might belief the contrary, as if Somaliland is an peninsula in a ocean only neighbouring Djibouti but unconnected and unaffected by the perils of Somalia.

Happened couple of times in the US. List of former United States presidents who ran for office - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG Also very common in many Parliamentary Constitutional monarchies for the Head of Government to remain MP after their executive term ends as Prime-minister, UK, Belgium come to mind. The Prime Ministers who went back to being backbenchers INEWS.CO.UK David Cameron has announced his resignation as MP for Witney, but other PMs have stuck around as a backbencher, from... In Belgium it’s even quite common to see a former State leaders to become Mayors of their home towns or even members of Parliament or the Senate. And there are some countries where it’s quite usual for the upper house or Senate to be populated by former state leaders, so it’s not that uncommon for a former state leader to have modest political after life as back bencher, however it’s quite rare in Africa, where ‘big’ man state leaders rarely seek a humble political career after their term ends.

Despite all that u are saying, Somalia’s Parliament is still more active, forms a counter power to the government, and MPs have actually proper power and bigger weight compared to the Somaliland MPs. And did you forget SL last Parliament that was in office for 16 years (2005-2021), which was a complete farce that never even questioned the government and passed everything without a a debate and received payments through Zaad for every vote, weren’t they also sworn in with a Kitaab. What you say sir?

The irony is that Somaliland companies donated a lot of money to the people deported. And exactly 6 months later when the Hargeisa market burned down the biggest donation and support came from Somalia. xaaji xunjufoow, irrelevant of the political directions, xidhiidhka umada Somaliyeed ma kala goyn kartid. So, inclusivity and making many feel part of the government even those who previously did not feel part or felt they were excluded because of their clan lineage, hence the fierce support and loyalty from many different sections.
