Symbols in Changing Geopolitics and Coronavirus
Old_Observer replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
My friend, You have everything up side down. In the same web page you quoted, which is 5th column Soros Media, you could have read why Russia prefers lower oil prices. Its counter intiutive, that is probably why if you have bias or even hate, is impossible to accept facts. https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2017/11/16/six-reasons-why-russia-does-not-want-a-higher-oil-price-a59595 In case you do not read it there, here are the main points. "In 2013, Russia’s GDP grew by only 1.3 percent or one-third that of two years earlier. That was despite the price of oil remaining close to $110 per barrel all year." The above should tell you almost everything you want to know of the relationship. Unlike the Saudis Russia is not exporting just crude oil. Half of it is oil products. Processed. "Third, Russia is more focused on economic diversification. Russia saw that the oil-driven growth model, which created the boom that drove the value of Russian GDP from $199 billion in 1999 to almost $2.25 trillion in 2013, had already become much less effective after 2013. The economy had started to outgrow oil." It might not occur to you, since it is not obvious, but reason 5 and 6 as to why Russia does not want oil at 50-60 a barrel is: 1. Shale US and oilsands Canada would not be threat to market 2. If oil is expensive everyone else will invest in Windfarms, Solar, Hydro..etc and Russia will be left with so much oil sitting in the ground. This is midium and long term decisions. Oil and Gas is 20, so what they have the most of everything in natural resources, and they are the only country in the world that can defend it and exploit it themselves. America bought 70 TONs of Asbestos from Russia last year. Russia which was wheat importer until 5 years ago now has overtaken Canada and US. They are second only to US in weapons maeket share and also export. Don't buy the propaganda and worst yet, propaganda based on total lies. Better propaganda based on small truth. That is easy to correct, but out right lie based propaganda is worst into making people blinded. As for Coronavirus, the difference of culture alone makes up a lot: 1. Russians are more religious, more moralistic both Christians and Muslims, but not extremists. It helps to have calm and more orderly society 2. Russians can take a lot more pain than Americans can. It does not mean they do not fight, actually they are the best in it, but it means they can better understand for common good rather than the me me me where you are. 3. The government has taken so many proactive measures. Was first to close border than any country. They already built a hospital temporary one like the Chinese. They already produced masks, gloves, coveralls, suites..etc. They produced test kits and machines for themselves and 17 other countries. America was hoping Coronavirus will kill Chinese economy and go away, so they did nothing at all. -
I think Farmaajo will get something from Abiy. Rumour is that Abiy is interfering with Ethiopian Airlines. Ethiopian Airlines was given the task of transporting it from China and distributing it to all Africa by a Chinese charity. Its Millions of test kits, coveralls for Medical personnel, gloves...etc about 300 TONs. Abiy is interjecting where he does not belong. He has already told his propagandists to say that he was involved in the Project. Ay Africa. I am sure the Chinese charity has something in there for Djibouti, Somaliland separately and Somalia of course.

President Putin still plans to participate in an emergency G-20 leaders video conference on the coronavirus tomorrow, says the timeliness of this decision is due to the explosion of violence occurring in Afghanistan, where over the past few hours radical Islamic terrorists belonging to ISIS laid siege to a Sikh religious complex in Kabul killing dozens—an explosion of violence coming 48-hours after President Donald Trump ordered his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to secretly travel to Afghanistan and immediately obliterate $1 billion in aid to this war torn nation—a literal “throwing to the wolves” sacrifice of Afghanistan necessitated by “coronavirus wartime leader” President Trump having to turn his focus inwards towards his own nation as this global disease pandemic has exposed just how broken the American economy and society are—and most particularly is an American society living in a Western world populated with tens-of-millions of people having a pampered herd mentality demanding “zero risk” for everything facing them, none of whom are able to see true things any more—best exampled in the coronavirus panicked peoples living in the United States stripping their stores bare of bottled water, while at the same time they leave their store shelves full of water purifiers and jugs—but more ominously is exampled by these “pampered herd” peoples in America being forced to believe against all logic and reason the bogus coronavirus data sets created by radical socialist Democrat Party activists designed to scare local and State officials into making rash, economy-killing mandates—all of whose dire predictions have already been proven to be wildly wrong—and has led to it now being warned about these bogus coronavirus data sets: “How they became a ubiquitous resource across the country overnight, suggests something more sinister”. China & Russia come to the rescue as Europe turns its back on Italy
Old_Observer replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
Except for the dumbed down world of today that does not remember yesterday, Russia and Italy is nothing new. Berlusconi and Putin are personal friends Italy has recomended to EU to lift sanctions Look at the monument in Italy from 1908 when Russian sailors saved thousands of people after an Earthquake. From a historical viewpoint, there is a precedent. In Sicily, in the city of Messina, there is a monument to Russian sailors, who in 1908 were the first to help the inhabitants of this city, destroyed by a terrible earthquake. Click to see full-size image For several days the sailors raked the rubble, pulling the Italians buried under the ruins, evacuated women and children to their ships, deployed field kitchens. As a result of repeated earthquakes, Russian sailors suffered losses, but continued to save people. “In the history of Messina, there were thousands of pages of human kindness and generosity,” Italian journalist Matilda Serao wrote. “But they entered the most eternal and most imperishable page in this story – fair-haired Slavs, so restrained in appearance and so responsive in business …” Italians Were "Dumbstruck" By Russian Specialists' Speed SOUTHFRONT.ORG The participants in the Russian operation to assist Italy in the fight against COVID-19 said that the Italians were “dumbstruck... -
Some Americans want compensation from China. Guess the amount of money they are wanting lol the debt...21Trillion. I think there will be war one way or another. That is why everybody is borrowing and printing money, since war will erase everything and losers pay the rest. Germany has paid about 37 Trillion so far from WWII. The British just finished paying back their debt to America from WWII, and now they have to pay another trillions to banks for what they borrowed in 2008 and other times.

One Italian man replaced the EU flag with Russian flag. It was only a matter of time before this EU becomes useless. Germany is saying that the financial bonanza of Coronavirus should be limited. France, Spain and Italy are saying should be as big as American. 4-6 Trillion. Some money from what the west is holding (Iran's money) will be released and some American officials are proposing to lift sanctions on Iran even temporarily, before American image is destroyed and that of China is hoisted. USA Pentagon has issued no movement for 60 days for American forces abroad. Americans want to stay in Afghanistan, just like what they did in Iraq. ISIS is now the biggest threat in Afghanistan. Anti-ISIS coalition needs to be formed and stay in Afghanistan to prevent Chinese from taking over and completing their Road and Belt. Which is now functioning in all Euroasia and Russia. -
Mustafe Cagjar sold the Somalis to the coming Amhara hegemony.
Old_Observer replied to galbeedi's topic in Politics
I agree. The problem is folks here in SOL too much influenced by what they see on the internet. Suldaanka, I used to point out this fact to galbeedi, now he gets it. Don't go by what you see on the internet and diaspora. The Amxara/Gurage are the majority in diaspora and also internet, radio and TV that you may have looked at. Example: Amxara are at most 20 Million adding even some Ethnics that still feel intimidated and say they are Amxara. Somalis and Afar are half that number. Oromo are twice that number Southern and Tigray are equal to that number Gambella, Benishangul, Harreri and the non Amxara in Addis are quarter of that number. Abiy will be lucky if he wins 10% in Oromo and 10% in Kililka. He will be lucky if he wins 50% of Amxara kilil. and 5% of Addis Ababa. A different group of Amxara is majority in Addis. A group that is set against Abiy and his friends of Gurage/Amxara. But if you go by face book and internet, for example, you may have never seen an Afar site or even a Kililka site that has big following against Abiy, but the man in the street and even some Kililka officials are already actively working against Abiy's deception and lies ways. -

Che, You are raising a question that is the only one, and the most critical one, which Kyre does not want it mentioned let alone answered, that needs to be answered. If SFG does not make this public, the whole arrangement will fall apart and Kyere will be like the Kenya officials who received bribes and cannot return, so they have to start war. If Ethiopian officials are in the action, which is automatic considering they have to provide the security, then this is new chapter. -

I am not for Chinese or Americans. Just fairness and Truth. If there are countries with which I almost always side with here, its probably Turkish and definitely Djibouti. -
Norway, Oil between Kenya and Somalia, Oil company and the PM....etc of course never mentioned.. The world bank has guarantee...if you do not pay you do not get new money from any bank..that is the key. What is Norway's guarantee? The World Bank also would not have been able to do this in an election year, which they do not do with any country except those guaranteed by America or others like Ethiopia. But still is better than being locked out of new money to borrow. Now Mr. Khayre can borrow from WB or one of its banks or Norwegian Bank.

Is this Universal TV propagating fake news again , this time in Europe?
Old_Observer replied to galbeedi's topic in Politics
There is a lot of old people in Scandinavia. Imagine its 30 years now and any Somali that made it to Scandinavia in the 90s is now in their 70s. Plus unlike Scandinavians who live distanced culturally the Somali cannot live outside of group get togethers and family. But still 6 out of 23 is extremely high. -

Old_Observer replied to galbeedi's topic in Politics
My friend this is too little too late. The Somali people in Ethiopia fought for one hundred years, under this or that leadership, under this or that organization, sometimes just a village elder, sometimes clan or sub-clan elder Shiek..etc The one thing they all fought was self government all from Independence to smallest autonomy. Finally in 1995 they achieved it on paper. They got many peoples in Ethiopia to think like them and it looked like this time the people will have achieved the minimum condition for them to stay in Ethiopia. Of course it takes at least a generation to make a realty of what you have on paper. You live in Federal country that almost 200 years is still building and the bill of rights is not accepted by the French who are not included in it yet. You were so much in a hurry to get rid of Illey who was not resisting to stay in power, but orderly transition so the things that have been built do not get destroyed. You were supportive of the campaign regardless if the accusations were true or not. Now it has been proven that most of the things Illey was accused of on face book are not true. Your best friends at the time, Amxara also don't care what Illey did or not do to the Somali. They only cared that he was in control of too much power. What are building blocks of autonomy? 1. Economically in general and food security in particular is crucial. You cannot complain of Christian domination while your people rely on Red Cross and not even Red Crescent. Most are nomads. Therefore water, settling them, trying half of them into farming in about 15 years..etc was crucial. 2. Industry and commerce. Since commerce requires less capital that was chosen as priority. Roads, airports, ports...is crucial. Example Somaliland ports cover more of Kililka than Djibouti. Puntland ports cover even more. Pushing Ethiopia to use Somaliland was crucial for Kililka. You and likes were adamantly against it. The Amxara were against it. On the contrary the Oromo, Afar (even those who benefit most from Djibouti), Tigray and South were all for it just as solidarity with the Somali. Otherwise Tigray can even use Port sudan which is closer to them and infrastructure is there. 2. Culturally Language, traditions, history, identity..etc 3. Media and education For all his wrongs or "ills", Illey was the most successful in all these areas. Now that the Amxara have succeeded in sidelining him and have found Somalis to curse him everyday for being separatist, all those institutions and infrastructure are being destroyed. TV and Radio are now broadcasting more in Amxara than Somali, where Amxara was zero during Illey. The Airports that were built with Somali money for the purpose of not having Ethiopian control have now been taken under Ethiopian control and after some face book propaganda of "we will make it part of Ethiopian network" yada yada are almost not functioning. Slowly will be given to military and take them out of the system and not compensate the Somali people. Education now will be in Amxara from grade 2 or 3 if Abiy has his way. Illey had education completely in Somali and Amxara was only a subject one of many other subjects. I hate to accuse you or others who were thinking in either clan or political party. You all were warned that the objective in Ethiopia is to take away autonomy. I guess most of you were too eager to see the back or the head of Illey, mostly for clan reasons, but some for other reasons as well. The hate on Illey was never about Justice for the "victims". I put victims in quotes since most of what was attributed to him was fake and manufactured. "Oh ya Camel, you did not see the ditch when you were looking up to the tree leaves and stretching your neck" That is the situation with Kililka. You are continuing the same way. Example the Amxara are not majority in their own Kilil. They are more majority in Addis Ababa than their kilil. There is fighting every other day in that Kilil by the Ethnics. -

Iran is already on the downward trend both death and new infections. Recovery is upwards. You might manufacture them, but too late for COVID-19. And who are you sponsored by? Everyone does some propaganda for somebody, but even the propaganda can tell you what one side is hiding and what they are focusing. -
Where did the virus come from and how did it start infecting people? UNKNOWN Who provided information on the possible medicine used?CHINA Who did lock down of 11 million people and later 60 million people and saved a lot of time to the whole world? CHINA Who took advantage of this time? Eurasia including Russia and Turkey Who did not take advantage of the time to prepare? USA the most and almost all western countries except Germany If GM is now offering to change a plant to produce masks, what took so long when more than a month ago US knew they only had 30 million masks in a country of 330 million people. How many are infected in US..No body knows since for more than a month there was almost no testing. One week in February the US tested ONLY 33 people. Blame game has overwhelmed you already. The best in the world in everything..this should not be a problem at all.

This should have been time where HoA gets similar from: France, Italy and Britain at the very minimum. Now people have to wait for China, Russia, Turkey and maybe even Iran, since they seem to have success in dealing with Coronavirus, even with all the infected and dead its now slowing as well as hospital beds, emergency temporary hospitals, disenfecting cities...has been done by the armed forces. -
China and Serbia: The medical aid packages that came from China read, in Chinese language and in Cyrillic, "The friendship of steel, we share the good and the evil!", with a heart that had the flag of Serbia on one side, and the flag of China on the other. Russia and Italy: The Russian teams jackets and all Vehicles were with the sign of two hearts one with Russian and another with Italian. The writing was: From Russia with Love. Coincidence or some deep meaning at work?

Cheeseman collects 36 million dollar of tax from Khat/Qat
Old_Observer replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
So much for MMA and maakiri1 wish that the government would use this coronavirus for something good, like banning the Khat and winning the people out of it. Unfortunately where there is so much money involved, where there is so much gangs and crony lobbyists involved, nothing good happens. In Ethiopia, this was exposed during Meles days. The Oromo, Somali and Hareri are the producers and traders. Meles comes from an area which is least affected by Khat. Actually in Afar and Tigray at that time was banned so police can arrest you. Yet when Kenya tried to interfere with Khat markets in Somaliland, Djibouti and Yemen, Meles was first one to play games and threaten Kenya with total destruction/Khat. Hipocrisy has no bottom where money and power are involved. -
China & Russia come to the rescue as Europe turns its back on Italy
Old_Observer replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
EU is dead. It was known the British were not going to leave a functioning and live EU. They succeeded first by staying in and being obstacle by veto to any progress and now by leaving it and not wanting to negotiate with EU, but individual countries. Nigel Farage predicted Italy would be next one to leave.
