They are uniting every Oromo even the ones that never considered to be part of Ethiopia and the others that consider themselves more Ethiopian than Amhara. Its amazing when people know America is in it. Everyone is overnight democrat. That will be first cruck in Abiy now seeming united. The Amhara want Oromia dismantled and the Oromo would not even contemplate. Somali and Afar are only ones who have least problems except few opportunits which natural any time. Ethiopia is really changed. People are scared when they don't hear anything about Iley for a week. They thing that, here we go the Somali is going and nobody can stop him...seriously people talk in those terms.

The last thing the Oromo want is Somali issue. The last thing Americans want is also Somali issue in Ethiopia.Kililka is actually the one unit that has the capacity to bring the tent down even with UAE/SAUDI..pillars and posts. Ghelleh needs to tell his folks in Ethiopia to be careful and not be tools for the Oromo. The Oromo do things for themselves first so you are only a spectator and when they know you don't have unity, you are even lower spectator.

I think Iley or not any society cannot keep at war for more than hundred years without doing major damage to his environment. Mountains that were covered green trees are now barren. The Tribes also need to unite. Kililka has all tribes clans of the Somali that is on planet earth. The situation is dire, even ONLF unless the irridentist type are convinced need a break to do some survival and economic development work. Next generation can follow different dream, not now. Most people are single minded on this. It can be said for first time Kililka people follow news in Addis Ababa seriously and see Mugadishu news as if its from neighbour country.

Too many wishes piled up brother. UAE/SAUDI are in a hurry for the Yemen War. They need Eritrea to be free of diplomatic and security problems from Ethiopia. America UAE want to disruppt the road of China, and what better way to disrupt it than punishing Djibouti. No body knows how far they can go with this internally in Ethiopia. Not even in the news now Tigray, Afar, Djibouti, Sudan, Kililka..everyone is ducking the wind storm looks like. And is wisest to do. Believe it or not Somaliland also will be loser in this Berbera. If the Yemen war is done one way or the other then expect another shifting of the sand. The America UAE economic war with China will not change that is long term.

Are sidelined and have to stay low key. ONLF has been in trouble for some time, but every body including America needs them to stay operational. At home in kililka they really don't have an agenda now. A lot of them are in Kismayu. Eritrea really has never taken to heart ONLF. Eritrea is interested on Amhara and Oromo. Especially Afar and Somali are rarely mentioned and Eritrea has never shown any interest except to assure the Amhara and Oromo that Eritrea does not want split of Ethiopia. Nothing will happen to personnel. They will stay dormant and if there comes an issue agenda then will show up.

Now people are questioning how come a blast that injured more than 80 not killed anyone in packed people. Only one person in hospital or way to hosspital is official death toll. People around it when interviewd say weird things. One says people caught a suspect and took him to palace and handed him to PM. He is the only one we trust. lol No we did not get chance to check ID lol America is there with commerce about 30 companies and something was sighned with Airline managaer (Tigray) maybe arm twisted to probably deny Djibouti. Djibouti would have been perfect fit, because planes cannot fly from Addis to America since cannot load fuel because of Altitude, but can fly direct America canada to Ethiopia.

lol Is he skipping Sudan? I think you are aware Sudan is making good money from EU and doing little to stop migrants for show and tell.

Abyssinia Tigray had big Jewish population and they still do have some even in high places. The Amhara kilil also had some. but those were converted and are going back to Jewish.
-
The number of suspects has reached 30 Only one person said to have died later and 150 injured (some by chaotic falls and trumpling) Not a single name has been realsed or video shown Suspects are rumoured from rebel groups to paid mercenaries who do not know who sent them Getting weird, now even most loyal are questioning.

Israel gives go-ahead to railway link with Saudi Arabia: Report Mon Jun 25, 2018 06:09AM Israeli officials are taking part in a test ride on a new train route near the northern city of Carmiel on March 21, 2017. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Israel Katz have agreed to promote a rail link with Saudi Arabia, Israeli media reports say. Katz and Netanyahu agreed in a meeting this week on the details of the project which would link Haifa’s seaport to Jordan’s rail network and that of Saudi Arabia and other Arab states, the Times of Israel quoted Hadashot news as saying. Netanyahu then instructed his office to begin advancing the plan in consultations with the US, European Union, and various countries in the Middle East and Asia, the report said. The line will also include a stop in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, connecting Palestinians to the network. According to a new PR video from Netanyahu and Katz’s offices, the project is expected to take a relatively short time due to the existing transportation infrastructure in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf Arab states. “Beyond its contribution to Israel’s economy … the initiative will connect Israel economically and politically to the region and will consolidate the pragmatic camp in the region,” Katz explained when discussing the plan back in April. Israel's Transportation Minister Israel Katz in front of a map of the proposed rail network on April 5, 2017. Dennis Weiss, a political pundit on Israel's channel 2, said the administration of US President Donald Trump supports the project which comes amid reports of warming ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Katz has said that he has spoken with the leaders of the relevant countries regarding the initiative, but there is no indication that any of them have agreed to its application. In March, Saudi Arabia opened its airspace to Air India flights to and from the Israeli-occupied territories. Saudi Arabia and Israel have no official diplomatic relations, but their relations have been rapidly growing over the past months, according to reports. The regime in Riyadh has even drawn up a roadmap to normalize ties with Israel and go public about their long secret cooperation. Netanyahu recently described Israel's relations with the Arab world as at their “best ever.” On Friday, Israel's Maariv newspaper reported that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Netanyahu had held secret meetings in Amman. Jacky Hugi, the political analyst of the newspaper, said, “A close friend told me about the incident, claiming that there were direct contacts between the two parties, both Saudi and Israeli, under the auspices of King Abdullah of Jordan.”

Since there is already most of the infrastructure what needs to be done is complete some of the parts. From Haifa will go to Jordan then Saudi Arabia then other Gulf states. In addition to Trade within those friendly countries, according to Netenyahu Pragmatic countries, this also have the potential of connecting Gulf to Medeteranean bypassing Suez.

Old_Observer replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Does that mean a Somali to just discuss once and the next thing is go for the gun? The man seems to have mastered the facebook age to a tee. That way I am happy to see him make success out of it, but not bloodshed of the poor nomad. -
Erdogan is leading election after 76% of ballots count

He has good control of his country, he contributed to economic development, technological advancement. He also just like Putin restored or worked hard to restore culture. Even those who hate him have to respect the man. -
Somaliland's biggest army base to be established in Tukaraq
Old_Observer replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
My hope is that the Somali in any enclave except Djibouti stay away from OIL. Its so destructive. All oil companies have kind of armies, tribes, clans, government lobby, coup detats...you name it. Unless one has either strong government, disciplined miltary..Oil is still bad. The Somali people missed oil long before Saudis even knew they had oil. Kililka oil was contract signed in 1914/15 with Standard oil of new Jersey Exxon. and the king at the time (British fake news that he is secretly Moslem) was overthrown by British and Haileslassie came to power gave it to British Petroleum then British were declining and Americans went with Saudis.. -

Old_Observer replied to Saalax's topic in Politics

Somaliland's biggest army base to be established in Tukaraq

Some bloody customs outpost has now become a symbol of something. It would be funny if in the future this becomes city and some cities or towns die and people move to it. That is history everywhere in the world. Everyone needs an incident to go up or down. Some towns from Adal kingdom/empire are now piles of stones, yet towns that never existed then have now become cities. Why is that Somaliland and Puntland are hiping this place? Is there some gold black or yellow under that the rest of us don't know. If that is the case Kililka will come as peacekeeper and take the place. -
The worst part is you spend money that could have built a good school or clinic everytime and since you don't control your home, everybody knows and no body respects you. Either you are dictator like Isayas, or democrat like Kenyan or mixed bag like Al Bashir or "dictator" like Iley if everybody knows you are leader of your home, people will respect you. I wish Farmaajo was like A. Yusuf where he can have coffee with nomads under tree shed and and sit in a palace Jowhar or Baidoa. With all his power Meles used to do that from time to time, goes to some district sits among the farmers and let them tell him even their daily lives..those are militia for life. Iley has mastered this even working on micro dams, needling goats with some American special forces volunteers. Mugadishu is government killer.

I am sticking my neck as small internet citizen. Ethiopia should be one of 3 or 4 first countries he visits in this new term. An afternoon in Somalia maybe from Qatar or Sudan is also in order. That is my schedule for president of Turkey, Mr. Erdogan -

Mooge, There is a saying which goes like "Call it a bird if you want to eat a crow". Not that I have anything against the man, but in my opinion, this is too low for Puntland. Doesn't look good at all. Should have been private and Mr. Martin should have been told that if you want to meet Gaas should leave phone outside. -
President of Puntland and President of United Somaliland Front meet
Old_Observer replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Hit while iron is hot, why not. So many people in the world are making it from facebook to their country's palaces. He might make it to President of United States of Somaliland for real. Unless this is photoshoped or secretly leaked, which should not have been public, Puntland President should not have done this. Its childish. Somali tripping each other. That is my opinion. This takes the game to a different level, lower, much lower. He should not complain if Bixi finds war lord and does the same and even worst. Who is bank rolling this man? That is how I look at it. If Puntland president did something like that to kililka, I can assure you he would be invaded and brought to Jigjiga for remedial classes. -
Maybe President Farmaajo should not have gone to IGAD meeting. The whole thing was South Sudan Only Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Sudan have direct economic and security interest. Even Djibouti has interest. Pipeline was to be bilt to Djibouti one time. Somalia has least interest.

History, the killing of 80 Somali officers 1978 by @harummaruf.
Old_Observer replied to cadnaan1's topic in Politics
That is all Academic. When you have failure there has to be somebody or something to blame. That is natural in life as is in military. The WSLF folks that were expelled, arrested, killed...because they wanted the war to be liberation and not Somalia occupation of Ethiopia was first and crucial mistake. It not only weakened the operation and so much loss of life and wealth, but divided the kililka people. That is the hard lesson learned and you see now every kililka politician is afraid anything that remotely seems to divide kililka. There are kililka politicans who may want Iley 6 feet under or in jail, but they do not want the Oromo or anybody else other than Somali to get window or door inside kililka. -
Believe it or not one of the criticism on Tigray was they have too many Moslem high officials and Mosques have mushroomed since they came to power. People are so ignorant to realize that Moslems achieved their part by participating in the struggle. Many in Ethiopia are ignorant to realize that its the Moslems who protect the country from Extremism and Wahabism. Except in some Oromo areas, the Saudis don't support anything in Somali and Afar areas. Turkey has done more in Afar areas than any other that can be called Islamic country.
