No one can survive as president of kilil now that has no support either from Iley or ONLF. That is the fact of life. It will take the Oromo couple of years to dismantle this situation. Shide is now taking Iley place as chairman of party.

Faisal Rooble on Abiye's plans to nullify Article 39...
Old_Observer replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
Article 39 is in the constitution and cannot be made any amendment by Parliament. Jawar just told the Amhara its better not to touch anything in the constitution until somebody wins an election with those changes campaigned. "If you are complaining that the TPLF did this constitution by force and not democratically, why do you want to do the same now that you are in power as an Oromo ally" Tongue in chick about alliance, but the point is practical. -
RRA's funny war song that defeated the invading warlord Caydiid
Old_Observer replied to Holac's topic in Politics
Never heard it before. For second time during ICU as well. -
Its fake news. Jawar wants the federal government to settle people Oromos in selected cities. This is well orchestrated. Create some news that so many Oromos have been evicted and say the government is helping them re-settle in other places. They cannot go back. In the mean time demonize the Somali everywhere and when UAE tells you to take action against them will be all ready to go.
-
This is exaggerated. Actually some of the victims are saying the Somalis did not do this. One shop owner said, Jigjiga is not a big metropolitan I should have recognized some of them. I have never seen a single person from the looters or destroyer hooligans before this date in Jigjiga.
-
Its fake news The Oromo just want to settle 30,000 with government assistance and change the demographics irreversibly. Everywhere in Dirdawa Addis Ababa and some cities in Oromia where Amhara is majority the Oromo are settling people and changing demographics. I think kililka can kiss Dirdawa goodbye no chance it will be Somali city again. That is why the election has been postponed indefnitely until the Oromo are sure to win outright.

Now you are in conflict with Saudis. lol Threatening with Quebec separation Accusing Canada of crime against humanity on aboriginals native indians Canada has most women prisoners It would be really funny if it wasn't for the holy sites, these people do not even deserve a country. The main reason BTW is not what is on twitter, its because Saudis bought about 15 Billion dollar military equipment and was agreed to remain secret, but Canadian government made it public.

RRA's funny war song that defeated the invading warlord Caydiid

Not only that, but in Ethiopia all the significant rebels were in contact and there was already a common menu prepared. OLF and TPLF had agreed on framework of kililkas. WSLF, ONLF and SDL had all agreed minimum requirement autonomy self government..etc. The forces were also really lopsided. Example TPLF and the Afar had about 130,000 strong fighters/army while others had maybe 20,000 and 5,000 to 3,000...etc. TPLF had allies already in almost all regions. But still 1000 people died in Addis Ababa in looting bullets factory that was not secured. -
Most likely. Eritrea and Ethiopia are working to draw Djibouti and Sudan into some trouble, but both countries so far are successful in ignoring the temptations. Can you imagine an Ethiopian regime ignoring Djibouti and trying to get Eritrea off sanctions. Djibouti has succeeded and the Ethiopian regime was humiliated more in front of suspicious Ethiopians.

Its psychological warfare To make investors hesitant To Generals and ministers doubt themselves and their country To make the people kneel down to west and avoid their government Now comes the test of people, nation and their will. The Russians had more risk but they made it. The Turkish had the character in the past, but 60 years under western influence can change. after all its more than 2 generations.

Money fell on people without conscience or brains. They have africans like Eritrea and Ethiopia who can say or do anything for small part of that money. Djibouti refused UAE/Saudis base for using it on Yemen. Eritrea went and begged them. Somalia refused the Egyptians base, Eritrea asked for money which Rgypt doesn't have and UAE was not prepared to pay for Egypt. Ethiopia in just 4 months has gone from close friend to Djibouti to now complete mistrust and almost hateful

You know how things get a small twist and take a life of its own. What Iley said was that the intelligence folks had an office and operations in kililka that no body was allowed to. In 10 years of its operation I entered for the first time the other day and now we are releasing the information to public" Listen to the video again. What most people do not know was that the intelligence and the military generals are different cattle of fish and actually at each others throats. The generals who were friends with Iley have 2 retired including Chief of staff. The chief of intelligence has been replaced but is still around PM Abiy. Many people say he is intelligence advisor but cannot be appointed officially it would be politically costly. The spot is officially empty. When you get bad name in the media this days anything goes. Iley never said I did all this ordered. He said all this was done (behind my back) out of my control prevented by the intelligence chief. Rumour is big in Addis Ababa that Getachew Asefa tried to humiliate Iley as pay back, but failed. The military would have none of it.

RRA's funny war song that defeated the invading warlord Caydiid
Old_Observer replied to Holac's topic in Politics
Actually that Shenanigan he tried cost him a lot of points in Mogadishu, some points in Eritrea and did not gain him anything in Addis Ababa since some of the same commanders were folks who knew him what he did in Bay and Bakool and some would not have wanted to see him at all since some of the things was outside bounds of war. Yet later when he got to his home base and together with ICU folks they tried to make look it was A. Yusuf that was trying with exaggerated offers to Ethiopia. -
Its quite common in northern Ethiopia to celebrate kings as well as famous and courageous rebels. If you look at Afar they celebrate a Sultan that was captured by Menelik from behind while he was fighting the Italians. In Amhara region one of the most celebrated person Belay Zeleke is one who was rebel and hanged by Haileslassie. There is some similarity between the cultures. You respect a man for standing up for something and show his courage.

But you know it was not Bay and Bakool that asked the Xabeshi for help in the first place. It was General Morgan. By the time they arrived a lot have changed fast and the two Gobols were victimized by those who had supplies armaments and outside contacts. Its only then the Xabeshi and Bay and Bakool co-operation and working together and training and arming to some extent started. -
Soomaali Galbeed's naming convention
Old_Observer replied to Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar's topic in Politics
You think that? No. In this case its almost universal truth but little noticed issue that you raised. Most of it is not even by plan. The colonizers cannot pronounce right and the locals then change their name to accommodate foreigners. In the cases you raised its planned, I have no doubt. -
Dalmar1, If every Somali is a stooge of somebody, one for UAE, Ethiopia, Qatar, Oromo, Tigray, Kikuyu....Then whose stooge do you want for kililka? There is no Somali enclave including the republic that can be now a leader of other stooges. Farmaajo is not going to make Abiy a stooge as late Barre did a lot of Oromo and Habeshis. That attitude will have to change. A stooge is 100 percent serving interest of others. If a stooge can set up institutions that do not serve interest of others, is not a stooge. You may not like his alliances, like our galbeedi here says Iley must have allied with Oromo and not Tigray, but one thing is afact neither the Oromo or Amhara know their limits and risk from the Somali.

That is an excellent point. Some are doing the changes by long term plan, but the worst part is the victims are the ones who implement it. These things become facts on ground in just one or two generations. The sad part of it is that even teachers and government officials accept and use it faster than ordinary citizens. -
Ethiopian government signs deal with Oromo rebels to end hostilities
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
That is why one wonders when people accuse or blame kililka alliance with Tgray when no Somali organization has ever worked in alliance or co-operation with any Oromo organization through the decades. TPLF is only 44 years since started and it was only in the 80s it started contact and co-operation with Somali organizations, be those armed or not armed underground organizations in kililka. OLF of course would not want ONLF to be in influence in kililka. That is for sure. And since Abiy base is OLF on the ground then he will also delay as much as possible ONLF role in Ethiopia. -
There is no confusion. Every one of those ideas, dreams, flags, monuments have support among the people. The problem is the force of the Somali is that much divided and weakened. It would have been more productive and useful to just focus on kililka at this time and keep on file everything else. If there is no strong, self governing and united to the best possible unity kililka, none of those ideas or dreams can be accomplished.
-
He probably wants to try and reconcile the Somalis among each other. Some power hungry among the Somalis have crossed the line in last week activities.
-
I fully agree. But you have to give up beyond a certain point. Right now there is no benefit in being a Somali if you can easily be somebody else and your Somalinimo was weak to start with. There is no Somali passport that is respected and accepted anywhere as before, there is no political or economic future on the rise. It has been like this for more than a generation. Consider the Oromized Somali a lost cause and move on with those Somali that will stick through thick and thin. The Amharized Oromo are now already in trouble. They cannot keep accommodating both demands. They are favoring the Oromo, because they think the Amhara is weak and Eritrea is not so enthusiastic of Amhara.
-
My friend don't kid yourself. The Oromo and Somali have geography, economy, environment that puts each side interest in conflict with the other. It does not matter who is in power. The only difference power comes to play is the tactics and strategies one uses to win. Peaceful regulated cometition, semi peaceful sporadic violence, violent even war.... Talking about Christian Oromo is splitting hair. The Christian Oromo is Pente. The only solution for the Somali is to decide for a decade do nothing else but build economy, culture, health, security as autonomously as possible. Forget all other directions of independence, joining Somali enclaves...put that in a box. You can't drive in both directions at the same time. One simple clear purpose and mission.
