They asked Yemen (who was good friend with Sudan) and Djibouti had also agreed. The plan fell through since the disagreement among different forces in Somalia. Very generous people in deed. Another character to copy from them. They know both Arabs and Africans inside out. Can deal with both effectively.

The Russian State Corporation for Atomic Energy (Rosatom) Friday said it has signed an agreement to build the first nuclear power plant to produce electricity in Sudan. Last month, Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity minister Muataz Musa said the construction of the nuclear plant will take a year and a half after the signing of the contract, pointing the project is part of a government plan to generate more than 5000 megawatts by 2020. America is running out of time to get Sudan out of the Terrorist sponsor country. Turkey, China, Russia are all invested in Sudan. It is amazing how Sudan survived American and European sanctions for this long. That is an experience to learn as well.

Sudan is among the Arab states that refused to take part in the ongoing crisis between several Gulf and Arab countries and Qatar and declared its support for the Kuwaiti efforts to settle the rift. Meanwhile, Adawi has praised Russia’s roles to achieve international security and peace. During his meeting with the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Navy Admiral Alexander Alexovich, Adawi pointed to the steady development of the Sudanese-Russian relations in all fields. He added “the recent visit of President Omer al-Bashir to Russia has opened prospects for joint cooperation”, saying “we are keen to enhance and develop those ties”. For his part, Alexovich expressed his country’s appreciation for the current level of cooperation with Sudan, stressing readiness to exert joint efforts to promote relations especially regarding training and exchange of experience. Sudanese were surprised to hear al-Bashir on his first visit to Russia last month asks President Vladimir Putin to support his country against American plans against Sudan. He noted that Sudan is concerned about the situation in the Red Sea and sees the U.S. as a problem there, adding that “we would like to discuss the issue from the point of view of the use of bases in the Red Sea.” Al-Bashir further requested Russian fighter jets for the Sudanese army saying SAF may buy S-300 air defence system to replace the old Soviet surface-to-air missiles. Last October, Washington lifted economic sanctions on Sudan and the two countries engaged discussion on the removal of the east African country from the list of states sponsor of terrorism. (ST)

A few things I know: Agriculture: There are countries like Kwait that totally rely on Sudan for food production. Kwait can never wish ill or do bad to Sudan. The Ethiopians copied this. The Saudis are partly dependant on Ethiopia. Foreign Policy: The Sudanese can stand on principles even in some cases dollars does not sway them. After the massacre in Lebanon they offered to ressettle the whole camp in good agricultural lands, give citizenship and all. Respect for Human life: Every single deposed leader lived in Sudan, even the one who was overthrown when travelling came back to Sudan and became leader of opposition party. Sudan is one of the few countries that has a communist party. Culture: Generous. Forgiving culture not forgetting. Arts and literature is held in high regard. Nationalities are known and have varying music and languages, but are polite and cultured to each other. What the media portrayed about Darfur was wrong image. Like all of us they have their bad aspects as well, but in my view they are best in the continent. If we all copy good side, we will be much better than we are today.

Egyptians would sell anything at any price anytime anywhere they can, but they get dumbfounded when facing the Sudanese. They have now completed a circle around them, where only Israel and the pro-Israel media is on their side. Turkey is annoyed by Egypt, Qatar sees them for the cowards they are, instead of being a reconciliator they took strongly one side for some billion dollar. If Egypt was not so short sighted could have got money from both Gulf sides. Sudan will take its water next year. Expect Ethiopia to have joint/shared military base in Sudan at border of Egypt. Egypt is being turfed out in chaotic Libya, by countries far far away. Too much selfishness and total disregard for Libyans. Typical Tigray lol.

A new batch of Turkish soldiers have arrived at Turkey's military base in Qatar ." (In last 24 hours) "The closure of the Turkish base was one of 13 demands by the Saudi-led group of countries in order to lift their embargo on Qatar." The Saudis must be at wits end how to get out of this. Only Turkey can make it happen. Both US and Britain cannot or maybe do not want.

Egypt's case is so weak "the Ethiopians did not ask for our permission otherwise ones the dam is filled we will not lose water" there are even high officials in Egpt that have sopken in their own media on this. From some reading In Eritrea its 50-50, but in Ethiopia Tigray Orthodox are almost 90%. There are more than 9 nationalities in Eritrea and 4 nationalities in Tigray Ethiopia. 5 of the nationalities in Eritrea and all 4 of nationalities in Ethiopia Tigray are shared common with Eritrea-Ethiopia.

Holac, Since according to some members here, I am Tigray: Militarily the relative comparison for this purpose is not David and Goliyad. You can take out a lot of Egyptian hardware out of the comparison (Items that would not be of any use for this purpose). The places Egyptian planes can fly from: Eritrea not allow, Sudan not allow, Djibouti not allow, Kenya not allow. If Egypt tries by deception from South Sudan (Ethiopia is there almost everywhere) and Somalia even if not able to prevent Egyptians will tell the Ethiopians. Ground forces is not possible. But I have no experise or experience in military so one can throw away my estimations. Egypt knows if it goes to war, no more Nile water from Ethiopia. According to the British from past century there is more than 20 places where the river can be diverted to completely different region with farmers labour and hand tools in a good day. There fore the British before and the Egyptians now only have one option, to physically occupy Ethiopia. That anyone can guess. Egypt had prevented World Bank and IMF from investing, but just the other day Egypt is now calling for the World Bank to get involved. Sudan is the key here and Sudan is 100% with Ethiopia.

To add to the greatness of the Turks, they are renovating and preparing for visitors and researchers the whole place around Negash in Ethiopia (Tigray). The mosque there is I think one of the less than 10 oldest and original ones in the world. The Turks are spending money and expertise in renovating the place. It is mosque and burial grounds of the first companions. I would also like to add for the Sudanese. Most generous people. The Egyptians never defeated the Sudanese in all their conflicts. The Egyptians always have to come with Ottomans, French, British.. even to attempt. The Sudanese are also most unique in Africa in the fact that every single one of their leaders deposed by coup or not lived, died and burried in his own country. They refused to join ICC for the sake of Sudan, helped him get out of South Africa who would have arrested him..etc. That is character on his part and Ethiopians as well. The first TFG set at Arta Dgibouti fell apart for agreeing to allow Egypt not only to set bases, but resettle people and farms for its food in Somalia. A good example of this is how Addisu Arega Kitessa, Oromia Regional Communication Affairs Head and by extension Lemma Meggersa, has spread falsehoods regarding Somali victims of ethnic violence in Oromia Region. One of those treacherous moves is his recent media engagements, both national and international, in which he even claimed that there were more Oromos who have died in Hawi Gudina. His constant lies about either the score of those perished or the circumstances surrounding the deliberate and coordinated attacks that resulted the loss of so many innocent civilians in an undeserving death, just adds fuel to the fire. These and other misleading falsehoods that lack both professional integrity and respect for the rule of law will only fuel the current unrest and hasten the march towards mutual quagmire. What has also taken me aback was the fact that the Oromia Regional government will adopt the talking points of those forces that are hell bent on destroying the current Federalist structure word by word and sentence by sentence. If you think I am just being hysterical here or may be connecting dots that are not even there, closely examine the Oromia Regional Government’s position regarding the reasons behind the #HawiGudina&DaroLebuMassacre and check the rubbish that Jawar Mohammed, OPride and the likes shared on social media in the immediate aftermath of the massacre and two days before even the Oromia Regional Government would acknowledge what happened and see it for yourself. Addisu’s lies has reached wide and far even to the corridors of respected news organizations like the Routers and Aljazeera English. These lies only add insult to injury if the Oromia Regional government through it is head propagandist is not even acknowledging the circumstances surrounding their death. The other big ‘fake news’ that was making headlines, though it can be easily traced back those same colluding and contriving forces, is the fact that these events were triggered by a Liyou Police attack on Oromos in Hawi Godina and Daro Lebu. But the truth lies in the simple answer to a basic geographic question __where did this happen? The mighty answer is around 200 km west into Oromia Region. If the Liyou Police can carry attacks in the center of Oromia, it shouldn’t take them that much to conquer Addis Ababa soon. These sustained and well-coordinated media campaigns conflated border clashes that are due to fraudulent 2004 referendum and other factors __mainly fight over control of grazing land and other natural resources, with premeditated massacres against ethnic Somalis in Oromia Region either under the nose or suspected involvement of Oromia security apparatus. Sadly, what this incident laid bare is the reality that propaganda and incitement has real consequences. The sad reality is that these so-called activists’ social media pages, opposition media outlets like OPride, OMN as well as OBN and Addisu Arega Kitessa are all working in tandem to cause mayhem. In an avalanche of propaganda and widespread misinformation, it is even hard to distinguish between two supposedly opposite sides. It is hard to tell where one ends and the other one starts. By now, we should all understand what damage reckless and unfettered propaganda can cause. The other unfortunate reveal of this tragic event is the fact that both national and local media barely covered this horrendous attacks, notwithstanding the biased media outlets like Addis Standard that have become the voice for the dark forces. Finally, what happened in Hawi Gudina and Daro Lebu is pure savagery. Hundreds of peaceful, terrified and defenseless civilians were slaughtered using ‘machoo’, the proclaimed weapon of choice for Jawar et al. and dumbed in to a ditch.Those who are using priceless human life as a political chip have blood on their hands. This is also what break down of law and order and the abdication of the Federal Government’s sacred constitutional duty to uphold its citizens’ unalienable right to live would look like. Holac, You are right. The only 3 countries that ever stayed long in Yemen are the Habeshi, the Persians and Ottomans. Every body else even the British was dispatched in short order. The egyptians still remember and even recent I saw an article on Al-Ahram of how they were humiliatingly defeated in Yemen (under Jamal Abdelnasser no less). The Houthi are not problem for Turkey. Just consider the warming and even heating relation of Turkey-Serbia, since the Albanians tried to deal with Europe and America bypassing Turkey. The problem is Saudi Arabia. If by some incident the Saudi stumbles, you will see very fast Turkey getting in with Qatar money. The Iranians and Russians and also the Chinese will also back Turkey. It would be so good to see Turkey both sides of the sea and all other empires reduced status. If we are no where to do ourselves then the next best thing is good enough. The biggest loser will be Pakistan which is so deeply vested with the Saudis. What do you think the possibility of Yemen continuing as one country. The Southerners do not seem committed to a united Yemen. Every now and then they change direction.

History is repeating, of course with different appearances and methods, but the players are all projeny of the ancestors. The Chinese were great power 3 times before in recorded history and now are coming back. The Persians were great power twice in recorded history and they are coming back with changed name Iran. The Roman Empire of Rome is in Washington DC. The Byzantine empire, Roman Empire east is in Russia and they are coming back (with some moral support of Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia etc). Even the Ottomans are coming back as Turkey. Turkey is not hiding its intension of supporting peoples that the Ottomans ruled, to be strong each in their locality. I read a piece of news today that the Sudan handed over to Turkey the old Port and Island of Suakin, about 60km south of Port Sudan for Turkey to rebuild it and use it as a base. It will put Turkey close to Israeli base, Egyptians, Saudis (this place was port of departure and return to Mecca Medina in old times, before modern ships, aeroplane etc. If Turkey establishes bases in Somalia (including Puntland and Somaliland) and in Sudan, there will be hope for the people of Yemen. galbeedi, Not so easy and not so fast. Every factor you mentioned is actually the weakness not strength for Amhara. The Diaspora is only looks one when cursing and Cussing Tigray. The moment they try to organize they splinter down to districts and sub-clans. There are at least 10 to 12 organizations with functioning web sites and radio broadcasts in America, Canada, Europe and Australia. The Amhara hate the Tigray not so much because the Tigray are in power, but brought all other nationalities that the Amhara could not accept to be in any postion of governing. As for business, its fair to say the Tigray, and Shiek Al-Amoudi (who for so many reasons is classified as Tigray by the Amhara and Oromo) and Gurage (another nationaliy that has common, but competing interests with Amhara which is Ginbot 7) are dominant. The Hareri (who are also for many reasons considered Tigray) and others have also their share in business. As for infrastructure, if you have time do some reading what the Amhara were saying during the Arab spring times. Apparently some George Soros financed training was given by no less than trainers from Pora the Serbian, by taking a group from the Amhara to Kenya. It didn't work. Its very hard to influence Ethiopia from facebook unless you are calleous enough to get some villagers killed as is happening with the Oromo. Consider also the fact that the Amhara region is inhabited by other nationalities like the Agew who will never side with the Amhara against the Tigray, since they suffered and were decimated during Amhara rule. This group is quite significant in the Amhara region. The reality on the ground is a lot different than what it looks or how is presented on the Internet. As for PM, I agree you are correct that a Tigray PM will not work. The Tigray also do not seem to be going that direction. The best thing to do is leave the man that is there, or bring from other nationalities. BTW Illey is considered PM material by many, if he improves his Amharic and most importantly his English. Such consideration is probably why the Tigray want to convert the EPRDF into a political party and bring in the Afar, Somali, Benshangul, Hareri and Gambella, which are all closer to Tigray than to the other parts of EPRDF. The South supports this, but the Oromo and Amhara at this time are dead set against it.

Exactly Che, The border skirmishes between villages, hamlets for water wells, grass lands etc is nothing new. The only thing new as you said is now in the age of facebook everyone is using it to embelish their support, which in many cases is fake. If one wants to have a good perspective and reasoned understanding of the bordering issues, one can ignore governments and other propaganda outlets and simply ask the question: Both OLF and ONLF were part of the current groups ruling Ethiopia. Both left for the same reason (separation of their respective regions from Ethiopia). On the face of it these two organizations should fully co-operate co-ordinate...but never did. Why? Come fast forward to current situation, the Oromo mostly diaspora are convinced that the Somali will be one of the critical roadblock on their way to dominating Ethiopia. The Somali is also equally convinced that an Oromo dominated Ethiopia will not bod well not only to Somali Ethiopia, but to the rest of the Somali. That is the crux of the issue. Blaming Illey or Tigray may sound good talk, but will not contribute anything to the issue at hand.

Mogadishu (HOL) - A former Alshabaab insurgent commander who defected to the Somali government was flown to Baidoa on Sunday evening. The militant commander who has not yet been named did not mention had surrendered to Somali government last Month. The plane carrying the commander landed at Baidoa Airport. Abdulle Issack, Southwest state Military officials confirmed the arrival of the militant saying the plane took off from Diinsoor where the man had been since his surrender. " The man who was Alshabaab commander defected to the Somali government. He was transferred to Baidoa where he will stay till the authorities decide his fate," said Issack. His defection comes barely two months after former Al-Shabaab leader, Robow Abu Mansur surrendered to the Somali government. Robow decided to surrender to the government after he fell out the militant group. The group launched multiple attacks to eliminate or capture the Robow. Since Robow joined the government, Al-Shabaab lost a number of its fighters who sought an official government amnesty. The gulf arabs cannot connect properly being Bedewin, a lot of windfall money, and excercise of power/influence from that money. Look at this item: Tunisian government officials said the UAE had banned Tunisian women from flying to or transiting through its territory. Tunisia has banned Emirates airline from landing in the capital Tunis after a number of Tunisian women were prevented from boarding its flights. You are correct as to Moslems having the highest, but some surprises: Protestants have same birth rates. Afar about 90% Moslem has closer birth rates to the 90% Orthodox Tigray both lowest in their groups. Education of women is identified as a big factor. Women that have gone to modern schooling have less children.
