Maakhiri, that is an old video. Farmajo was welcomed by leader of Easter Saudi Region and his deputy. Farmaajo didn't have any bilateral side talks with any of the leaders. He did participate in the big photo the Arab Leage leaders took for the Summit.

Here is Sudan. April 15, 2018 (KHARTOUM) - Sudan’s President Omer al-Bashir and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia Sunday discussed bilateral relations in a meeting held on the sidelines of the 29th Arab Summit in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. "During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the opportunities to develop it in various fields. In addition, (they discussed) the latest developments in the region and the efforts exerted towards them," said the official Saudi news agency after the meeting. For his part, Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour who attended the meeting told SUNA that the Crown Prince praised Sudan’s role in common Arab issues and its contribution to regional security and stability. Sudan is part of the Saudi-led which includes eight African and Middle East countries, in support of the UN-backed government of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi which fights Houthi rebels. In its final communiqué, the Arab summit reaffirmed its full solidarity with Sudan to safeguard the national sovereignty of the country and to consolidate peace, security and development. Also, the meeting declared its support to Sudanese efforts "to benefit from the initiative of international financial institutions for heavily indebted countries". Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Sunday dubbed the Arab League meeting the “Jerusalem summit” and criticized the U.S. over Jerusalem. The Monarque further announced a $150 million donation for the maintenance of Islamic heritage, Aqsa mosque, in the eastern part of Jerusalem

An asylum seeker from Norway, who was stripped of citizenship in that country, will be deported from Iceland. Mahad Abib Mahamud, who arrived in Norway in 2000 at the age of 14, was stripped of his citizenship last year because Norwegian authorities believe he lied about his actual country of origin; Mahad says he is from Somalia, while Norway contends he is from Djibouti. Working as a bioengineer at a hospital in Ullevål, he lost his job in the wake of the ruling, and headed for Canada, but sought asylum in Iceland. RÚV now reports that his case has been rejected, and he will be deported to Norway. Amongst the reasons for the ruling cited by the Immigration Appeals Board is the Dublin Regulation, a European law that gives signatory nations the power to deport asylum seekers back to their previous point of departure. The board also said that his case to get his Norwegian citizenship back is currently on the docket in Norwegian courts, despite previous reporting that Norway’s High Court already ruled in favour of the government’s decision. No official date has been set for his deportation to Norway

UAE suspends issuing visas to Somali passport holders
Dahireeto replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
It is very easy for Western educated arm-chair online warriors to say let us do this and that against UAE, but the hundreds of thousands of Somali business owners whose livelihood depends on trade with the Dubai and UAE, it is a disaster to hear this. Let us not be arrogant and play ego games with our people. The UAE refusing to give visas to Somalis is very very bad for the Somali community. The Somali government must fix this. -
This is old news. Ask Oodweyne who has been arguing that previous government signed the deal with UAE. Search the forum.

Excellent. Nabad iyo Nolol.

To be fair, Garowe-St. Paul sister city application started few years before Mogadishu-St. Paul. There should be courtesy to give each other a chance since all of them are Somali cities. What is the point of starting a parallel process so late? I know this because I live just outside of St. Paul.

Regardless, he did a wonderful thing. Nobody pays 50K for anything in Somalia. He is rare.

Samatar is the most honest man who comments Somali politics today. He never misses the point.
