Salaamz, No body caresssss about religion in Somalia, people just care about Food and Shelter. Look at who the people accepted to lead them, he certainely doesn't look like his priority is deen. So your question walaal is worthless b/c there is hardly anyone to ask that really gives two shingles about religious diversity in somalia or anything that has to do with religion and somalis get the kind of leaders they DESERVE!!!

(Sounds Totalatarian? ) But we live in a Democractic world right, none of dat DARK AGE business? Just flip throught the channels, your local papers, internet sites and local radio and tell me what messages do you hear? Are they not of a similiar Message with a similiar Tone and even Language? Inshallah, if you notice that and what theme they carry with it and why they are given the 'FREEDOM' to 'STAY IN BUSINESS' den, inshallah, you might be able to seeee what I seee. If you are in a position to be Daee in Islam, in a position of Dawah, going the route of Media or your own MEDIA whether it is Videos, movies,Internet etc.. is not the wayyy to go about. Just let your CHARACTER do the DAWAH for YOU and the DEEN, INSHALLAH! I remember an ayah in the Quran wherein Allah (subhanahu wataala) tells the Rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) that If He were to have All the Correction Situations i.e. Tribal alliances,Peace, Money etc., he (the rasul) would still not be able to UNITE the HEART of the BELIEVERS, but it is Allah that Unites and Guides!!! (If anyone has the exact quote, feel free to ref. to it inshallah) In anycase, the point is, you want to Participate in something with FALSE HOPES and Illusions. Why go to 20/20 for? What u gotta prove to people? He sang for them for the 9-11 benefit concert and on many occasions spoken agains 'terrorism'. Why in the world should u still HUMULIATE yourself? Fi Amanillah

Caajib walaahi! It can be explained but there will always be problems, just be patient (isbir!) I don't though that ANY MOTHER would cause such a distrubance with her son's family to the extent that her son would become divorced. Its caeeb for the mother to have a child of hers become divorced, so don't worry Sis, she's just SHOWING YOU LUV DIFFERENTLY IN HER OWN WAYYY Fi Amanillah

Woman spends a month caged with 6,000 scorpions New record holder will remain on display in mall until Saturday KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — A Malaysian woman has broken a world record by enduring 32 days enclosed in a glass box with 6,069 scorpions, suffering seven stings in the process, her sponsor said Tuesday. Nur Malena Hassan, 27, will remain in the case, on display in a shopping mall in the eastern city of Kuantan, until Saturday, said Bohari Rahmat, whose biscuit company sponsored the stunt. Late Monday, Nur Malena surpassed the previous record held by Kanchana Ketkeaw from Thailand, who spent 31 days in a glass box with 3,400 scorpions, Bohari said. Bohari said he hadn't talked to Nur Malena since she reclaimed her record, which she first won in 2001 by living for 30 days with 2,700 scorpions. "We don't want her to lose focus, thinking that this is enough," Bohari said. "If we can reach 36 days, it will be more difficult for someone else to beat us next time." Sujatah Nair, a spokesperson for the Malaysia Book of Records, said video and other documentation were being sent to the Guinness Book of Records. Nur Malena, nicknamed Scorpion Queen in this Southeast Asian country, has been stung seven times by the poisonous arachnids since she began the stunt. "She was stung on her leg three times last Wednesday and could not walk, but she's recovered," Bohari said. "She left the room on Saturday for two minutes to cut a cake and celebrate her 27th birthday." Otherwise, she has left the room only once a day for a 15-minute bathroom break. Nur Malena has built up resistance to stings after five years of training, but can pass out if stung three times within a short span. A doctor has remained on standby to treat her if necessary. Thousands of Malaysians have visited the mall to observe Nur Malena in the room, where she sleeps, eats and performs Muslim prayers, moving very carefully to avoid upsetting her dangerous roommates. With all the Scorpians, she still does Salat and holds her Wudu for the WHole day except for 15minutes. Amazingggg! Masha Allah, you goooo girl! What do you think of her people?

Salaamz, You know what Secularism argues about in this point is the question of 'CAN YOU REGULATE/CONTROL MORALITY?' Secularism's response is-What people do in their HOUSES, is non of 'OUR BUSINESS'. The state can not control morality in otherwords and how we can we judge, if we are but HUMANS that error too, right! I'm sure u've heard the phrase 'Only God can Judge Me' The Islamic View-What you do IN YOUR HOME affects SOCIETY. Why? B/c you are part of the muslim ummah and every muslim is part of that house (the house of Islam) which is constructed on SOLID foundations (Quran and Sunnah) with many different BRICKS (Muslims). So it should actually be a SHOCK to a MUSLIM to see a Muslim Majority state actually not BANNING what is HARAM in the first place. Fi Amanillah

Originally posted by Rahima: Khayr, in a bid to be macho brother, you are trampling on the teachings of Islam. There is no harm in a man helping his wife with the house duties (it takes a real man to do so), for two reasons: 1.Rasulallah used to help his wives with the household duties, and 2.It is not compulsory for a Muslim wife to do household choirs. Hadiths: "The best of you are they who behave best to their wives." "The best among you is the best in his treatment of his household, and I am the best of you in my treatment of my household." Salaamz, Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet said, "All of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards. The ruler is a guardian and the man is a guardian of his family ; the lady is a guardian and is responsible for her husband's house and his offspring; and so all of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards." Bukhari What do I concurr/learn from this hadith? -MAN is Guardian of his family -Women is a guardian and responsible for her 'Husband's House' and 'His Offspring' -Both are Guardians and they both have DEFINED ROLES (confusion in this part is a new age thing!) So contrary to how some want to TWIST my words, here is one proof that supports my so called 'VIEW', Rahima! And as for those throwing a fit cause I mentioned 'SEX' in a sentence, well here is another proof for my statement! Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "If a woman spends the night deserting her husband's bed (does not sleep with him), then the angels send their curses on her till she comes back (to her husband)." Salaamz, Maaaan, I'm getting flashbacks to days when I actually had to do research when making posts in here and other nomads would make meaningful contributions. Needless to say, times have changed and I guess Winter is Done because we hardly engage in these discussions anymore. SOL is mostly a Gender war ridden site. I can't believe I wrote some of those posts, Allahu Akbir! I'm impressed at what other nomads and I have use to write, MashaAllah! Fi Amanillah

Salaamz, I THINK THAT IF THE ADMIN. HAD MADE UP THEIR MIND ALREADY, THEN THEY WOULDN'T HAVE SET UP A THREAD THAT WAS 'OPEN' FOR DISCUSSION. SHEEKADHA MARXOOREY BAA LAXEEDEY LAXA AND WOULD BE A DONE DEAL. TRUST ME ON THIS, IF YOU HAVE A 'JUST SOMALI language THREAD' FORUM/ROOM, I WILL THINK TWICE ABOUT ENTERING IT B/C IT TAKES ME TOOO LONG TO READ IN SOMALI LET ALONE WRITE IN IT AND I AM A PRETTY PATIENT PERSON TOO. This is SOMALIAONLINE, if this was SUUJISONLINE and we made a room for 'SOMALI WRITING' then I would understand And Yes, I'm right about my OBSERVATION, it is the LADIES that SCREAM the most and yeah, ADMIN. leans towards them more. Originally posted by Rahima: [Whilst this is true, I believe both you and brother Kowneyn are missing a vital point. Could it be because you are both Somalilanders If it were that the people of Somaliland were all God-fearing Muslims and those from the south were kufaar, then your point would be legitimate. However, since this is not the case, the point in this case is not applicable and becomes somewhat redundant. We are speaking about two groups of Muslims who when it comes to Islam are basically the same, both sin and both do good. Let us be honest, it is not like fighting does not occur in Somaliland, however we can say that it is less than the south, which can be attributed to many factors. However, I guarantee you; it has nothing to do with the point that Somalilanders have more taqwa than the rest. The south also has people who fear Allah and who wish for peace. Islam teaches that a Muslim is to correct his brother in an effort to maintain the unity. Rasuallah even instructed that the Muslim helps his brother if he is oppressed or even if he is the oppressor by advising and apprehending him. In this we learn an important point, as Muslims we unite on all the points which are correct however we correct one another on those which aren’t. Moreover, let us look at Somaliland; do you seriously believe that the Somaliland government and its system of administration is based on Islam? I think not! It is based on the ideals of democracy (which we all acknowledge are against Islam), therefore, how can you justify its secession and furthermore argue the point that they have separated on the notions of taqwa and birr. This is ridiculous; any person with any understanding of the kalima can see that this is not the case. If on the other hand you are to reason that Somalia is also in the same boat (which would be correct), then does it not become the responsibility of those who understand Islam to apply Islam in their politics by maintaining the unity and establishing an Islamic system of government. To build a house akhi, you need to start from the bottom. Somalilanders are not completely innocent of the state our land is in. Everyone including Somalilanders have played a part in the agony of our nation, so let’s not use the innocent card when all are guilty. We all suffered and we all oppressed, so let’s be fair. Just a small point though brother Salafi, You seem to be dead against certain shuyuukh in Saudi Arabia who wish to make an Islamic difference in their homeland, yet you are a fervent supporter of Somaliland. How can that be? This is contradictory. You paint the Saudi situation with one stroke and the Somali situation with another. Please explain, may be I’m missing something here  . Salaamz, I agree with Rahima on some of her points. Reality is walaal, Most are BLINDED by Nationalism and we often Dismiss things due to our Passions and attachments. I've read the Somaliland 'CONSTITUTION' and it is SO INSULTING to the DEEN. - It wants to Use the DEEN, but yet the PEOPLE and man made Laws come before the DEEN. - The Ulama are only used for 'trivial' things like 'Quran classes' and 'weddings' etc. Major issues like 'WHO SHOULD WE DO TRADE WITH' or 'SHOULD GAAT be Banned' or 'WHAT SUBJECTS TO TEACH KIDS' etc., well leave DEEN out of that. -Somaliland is a SECULAR STATE and it tries to Disguise ISLAM in certain colours but it really seperates DEEN from STATE affairs. I once wanted to put up the Somaliland Constitution for Discussion after I read it but thought that I'd be like a 'Naaef' and get slaughtered in here for insluting the 'SACRED COW' aka Somaliland. P.S. My family is from Burcao and caaergabo, so I don't disagree with Somaliland b/c of North/South issues. Fi Amanillah
