  1. Thanx Rudy! Now I can stretch my feet a little more in the mornings and yell 'I pay my taxes too-damn it' to my neighbors. Moving to the East Side has been nice.
  2. Ngonge, Participate in the 'Open Letter' and other threads as this thread kills your 'credibility'. Re: "I aim to cause mischief, my dear. This is why I’m posting this on the general section and not the Islam section. Now loosen your hijab a little and give me a reply other than the usual stuff." and 4 pgs worth of gibberish proved that. Castro, You must have a nice job saxib cause we always seeing you around every other minute. When we don't see you, it must be your 'day off' work
  3. ^^^ Yet, more posts to use as MANURE for my garden. Ahura, Young Farmers Association? Yeah Right~ I can imagine you being part of a 'Reader's Club' or a 'Bollywood Fan club' but not the Young Farmers Association. Stoic, Did you know that People are more inclined to get outdoors and exercise when their surroundings are greener? How about Children with attention deficit are better able to concentrate or follow directions after they have beeen around natural settings.I know this may sound a bit sappy to you or anyone who is reading these words, but it is a fact that there is a correlation between a greener community and the average physical excercise.Gardens makes communities/houses livable. I agree and it helps with our 'state of mind' and disposition, as well as helping has reflect on God's Bounty and Generosity .

  5. Assalamun caliykum, Waryadha, Have any of you nomads any experience or familiarity with GARDENING? Do you know of Any sites that might be useful? I want to try it out inshallah and since we are in March, it might be a good time to start-or am I too late?

  8. Bigot Definition: A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own. Source Main Entry: big·ot Pronunciation: 'bi-g&t Function: noun Etymology: Middle French, hypocrite, bigot : a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices Source Some comments made by Naden on this thread She was proselytizing about the purity and wonders of Somalia when everyone knows the hundreds of thousands who ran with their tail between their legs know how desolate it is. Naden, how did you and your family manage to run ohhh, so well 'between your legs' into the wonderful land that you currently reside in? I said it earlier in the thread and I will say it again. Anyone who gets all excited about this return to the earth crap, give your kafir/western passport to someone your age in Somalia and stay there enjoying the caano geel and no one would be the wiser. She is the one who finds the Western world objectionable and describes a Utopic Somalia. My call for anyone who does that to return to Somalia is a simple extension of their arguments. Arguments that are shallow and self-deceiving. When you find a place intolerable and a threat to your faith, don't waste your breath trying to get others to see things your way, simply leave. Again, put the Quran on the table and back away slowly where I can see your hands. You don't scare me. Keep repeating that to yourself, sooner or later you will be delusional enough to never explore any issues of poverty and lawlessness. Again, I wasn't the one who brought up the contrast between the two. The sister's post repeatedly paralleled Somalia vs. the West. And honestly, I used the Cheney pellets equivalent to disagree with the original post's thesis statement. The next time I run across a trite argument that paints a romantic, glib view of today's Somalia, I will point my kalashnikov up their asses and pull the trigger The next time I run across a trite argument that paints a romantic, glib view of today's Somalia, I will point my kalashnikov up their asses and pull the trigger
  9. Posted by ThePoint: What is a 'return to earth crap'? Not quite sure what such a subjective statement really tells one. So she mentions positive aspects of somalia - she automatically has to give up her western passport and live there? This is hyperbolic nonsense. You may as well say - 'oh you don't like it here in the West because you're protesting Guantanamo Bay etc - Give up your passport and go back home'. This is BS - and this argument is moronic and generally used by bigots. It's interesting that a Somali is using the inverse of this latter argument. Excellent Points!

She was proselytizing about the purity and wonders of Somalia when everyone knows the hundreds of thousands who ran with their tail between their legs know how desolate it is. life here is so stress free, you see people who might not even have anything to eat but they never frown or get depressed, people here have strong faith and trust in Allah, their culture and faith is so untainted by kafirism. What the hell is that all about? Coming from someone who probably has both the passport and the money to go for this rapturous excursion and then run back to the west. No one wants to be hungry and the looks on their faces are not peace but resignation to agony. A stress free life leads only to people being hungry, faith alone doesn't build hospitals and schools. it seems the ones in the west take the western individualistic culture, but the ones here masha'Allah it makes me so proud of my country I said it earlier in the thread and I will say it again. 14. Kashanre, Mabruuk saxib, you and I are in the same 'group' according to SOL's Master Spammer. Its a pleasure saxib for you and I to be known as 'like minded' nomads, Alhamdulillah. Naden, Do a little SEARCH on SOL for that Topic that you went off on a TANGENT with. It has been discussed on SOL several times.

Our goal is not to maximize our pleasures here, but to reach the house of eternal pleasures. Once we embrace this perspective, it brings joy to this life as well, but it is a materially different kind of joy than one finds in obeying one's basal desires. The Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, said, "The coolness of my eyes lies in offering Salat." Let us heed the wake-up call from the Prophet saw : "I have not seen anything as dreadful as the Fire whose evader is asleep and anything as desirable as Paradise whose seeker is asleep." I agree, this is good advice, jazaAllah khayrun!
  16. Originally posted by Xoogsade: How materialistic is it to alleviate poverty and provide communities with the means of education and jobs? There is Hierarchy in all and for the Muslims, that is not that at the TOP of the Hill. For if that was the case, then Capitalism would be the ideal Political theory to follow for Muslims. Alleviating poverty has to be done under the Islamic Parameters re: Zakat, sadqa, eliminating riba sources etc. Likewise are provisions for education and jobs. A Muslim party can't have a heavily sided-Horizantal platform re: allocating funds and resources. The Methodolgy can't become the PURPOSE of the Islamic state/Party. Did I get you wrong or you were saying Hamas based their campaign on materialistic agenda? Granted, eradication of corruption and ensuring all the wealth goes back to the community in the form of services was their platform, I fail to see how that would be wrong islamically.Isn't that the responsibility of governments and if they fail in that they should be relieved of their duties so someone else who can do that be put in place? The mistake is in participating in a system that has been set up to curtail RELIGION re: democracy. Once you have done that, you are playing in an 'alien field' wherein the rules and regulations are already SET UP for you to LOSE. Where is Islam, when people go hungry and jobles-thats what the people will ask? But Islam didn't promise FULL BELLIES and Heaven on Earth....Hamaas made those promises, at the very least-implicitly, through participatiing in an democractic election. People want dunya driven things like you have stated, and that is their Priority ABOVE ALL ELSE. So if tomorrow, there is no 3 course meal on the table, then the people will get angry and accuse Hamaas of 'FAILING THEM'. The deen is there to do WHAT IS RIGHT regardless of peronal preferences. The deen is not their to 'FILL BELLIES'. Thats not the aim, its a Part i.e. trying to do justice on earth, but not the Whole aim of the deen (To be Slave of God, Prepare us for OUR return to our Lord). This idea of governments staying in place forever and leaders staying on unchallenged is what put islam where it is. There is no accountability although some islamic governments are better than others. What is wrong with Stability and some sort of Permenance?... The Amirs would be checked by the ULAMA that is the Ideal. I am of the preference that infact, the ULAMA should be the leaders and it is amongst them that leaders emerge from, for afterall, they are the best in the islamic community. Look, Democracy feeds People's EGOS/XAWOS. Plain and simplely, why else would people support it. It sounds very enticing when you tell someone-You have a say (doesn't have to be Right or Wise...but hey, You have a Say). Next time, go and ELECT what DOCTORS you want to be at your Local Hosiptal based on their Campaigan Platform, or what they said to you and your friends etc...Sounds sttupidd doesn't it!

From, my observations, Somalis though they have many children aren’t very child friendly. Intaa wey ka cabonayaan about the sacrifices that they make for their children, their always ranting and raving about parental rights but pay little attention to that of the child. Honest to Allah, they depress me. Blessed, I whole heartily agree with you. A large number of Somali mothers do find their children a burden, but who can blame them? 3 or 4 children, only 1 year and half apart, no support from the useless husband/father. He won't even lift a finger to help her around with the children, forget the household chorus. We wonder why these mothers are so bitter towards their children? They are angry, they feel like slaves and most importantly all that hate feeling she has towards the no good farah is taken upon the child/children, since he isn't home for her to hate on him, she will hate on the next person, and that is the child. Getting back to the poster and his perfect little world. It doesn't surprise me that you would agree with Women finding motherhood a hobby nowadays, everyone knew that was coming. How you can still exist in society just shocks me. Really, you are not even funny anymore. Let’s say some women might actually find motherhood a hobby, what is wrong with having hobbies, and especially a child as a hobby? Atleast women won't run out on their children, hobby or not. Women will always stick by that child, whether she wants to or not, where is the man? Where are the Farahs? Thousands of miles away, pretending to be single and courting other females so he can make more women bitter? What does a man bring to the table? Absolutely nothing. They can't even get a decent paying job nowadays, therefore that whole saying of MEN BEING "BREAD WINNERS" is out of the door. All I am saying is, a woman is everything to a man, where as the man is nothing to a woman. All of you men out there, you have atleast one woman in your life in the following categories. A mother, A wife, A sister, An aunt, A grandmother. If any of those above choose to find motherhood as a hobby, that’s their prerogative PS:Much love to the mothers who love being with their children, happy and willing to sacrifice, if that means no life outside of the child, much respect 2 you for making that decision. I just wish I can say the same about the fathers. Lets give an Honorary P.H.D. to Layzie GGGG Hating all the time on the faraaxs. Making motherhood A HOBBY is an insult to the GIFT of motherhood and if ANY mother views motherhood as a HOBBY or treats it so....then her competency as a Mother is to be seriously QUESTIONED and Assessed!!!
  19. Salamz, Saxib, JZK for the article. When do kids start to show certain distinguisable traits? Is it at 18months as the article states or 2yrs etc.?
  20. Like I said before I reject the Sunnah, I explained my reasons. I'm not trying to dissuade you from adhering to the Sunnah. It is your right to worship anything you please. Just like it is my right to worship who I please -- God and God only. B/c you explained your 'Reasons' does not give you a 'RIGHT' to yell 'I'M A KAFIR' on here. We are nomads and by in large-MUSLIM. Thats were our identity and values stem from. Rejecting the Sunnah is clear KUFFIR. No ifs or buts about it. If I were a Mod. I would DELETE the comments that you made on this thread in a hearbeat. Abraar, don't bother responding to him as his 'PURPOSE' has been unraveled by MMA and in SB's writings on this thread. SB, Allah yahdeeka!
  21. Salamad, ^^^ I enjoy reading the wonderful experiences of nomads in their visits abroad. Very good observations about the diff. in Worldviews of nomads in somalia and those abroad in the west. Modesty, Sounds like your having a nice time-Dubai, Xamer... by the way, are you Fishing down there?

Cheers [/QB] I agree with some of things you said in the rest of your response. But at the end, you confused 'Personal Liking' and 'Irritation' with what is GOOD and what is RIGHT. Alhamdulillah, calla kuliye xaal... This danish newspaper is feeding the fuel for their own fire. To conjure up a bunch of Murtaadeen/those that left islam and a bunch of munafiqeen who make their fame and fortune from bashing ISLAM, is damn insult and a real spit in the face of all muslims. This is pure shaytanic and as a muslim it bothers me and is very humuliating to muslims for such people to be allowed a 'Mic' or 'Pen' to mouth their shiiidh at our Deen. LaacuntAllahi caliyheem!
  23. Salamun caliykum, I agree with Abraar's definition and explanation. JazakAllah khayrun walaal. Making a 'methodology' that 'Purpose' is wherein the confusion lays. Hence, why literacy->good grades->good job is a Methodology and should be always EXAMINED under ths scope of 'PURPOSE OF LIFE'. What has happened is that the Purpose of life has been RE-DEFINED and often BLURRED for those that believe in Religion. To the point, that ALL METHODOLOGIES i.e. what books to read and should be taught in school, how to get a job, where to live etc. have become SELF-SERVING.
