On a bit of a tangent, I was watching the news the other night, awaiting to hear something about the conflict in that region. To my amazement, the first thing that the news caster in their segment said, as they showed pics of palestenians in a shop, was that "Business is Booming in this part of town", as the poor tailor was frantically making bullet proof jackets for his people. Like get the fuuuck out of here. These people are getting shiiitted on, no lights, no water, no sewage, lack of food, the world spits on them - and all the stuuupid newscaster could say was "Business is Booming" for palestenians

Just this past week Israel did show that they hold the 'arabs' as hostages when they took three of their fighter jet planes to visit the summer home of the president/king of syria. Just to remind him, that he shouldn't help his fellow arab and muslim palestenian folk. Reality Check 101!

Anyways, I don't see why there should be a debate about this at all.

Originally posted by Ibn Abbas: Brother did this competition used to take place during the days of the companions or even the era of Muhamed SAW If yes Please present the Sahih hadiths and the Quaran to support this (and we will write poems to the best of our ability) If no Then it must be bidha in which case you want us to do an act that the best of genereations did not do. Saxib, Maybe this can be of some help to you There were some very fine poets among the Prophet’s companions, the most famous of whom were Hassan ibn Thabit and Abdullah ibn Rawahah. He encouraged them to use their talent to refute the unbelievers’ accusations leveled at him, his companions and Islam. They were more than a match to the idolater poets who resorted to lies, abuse and false accusations. But the Prophet also appreciated poetry that often expressed human wisdom, even when such poetry was by a non-Muslim poet. Amr ibn Al-Sharid mentions a report by his father who says: “I was riding behind the Prophet on the same mount when the Prophet asked me: ‘Do you memorize any poetry by Umayyah ibn Abi Al-Salt?’ When I answered in the affirmative, he asked me to recite. I quoted one line, and he asked for more. He kept asking for more until I had recited one hundred lines.†(Related by Muslim, Ahmad, Al-Tirmidhi and Al-Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad.) It should be mentioned that Umayyah ibn Abi Al-Salt was a pre-Islamic poet who included much wisdom in his poetry. Much of what he said is universally acceptable as he extolled moral values and enshrined ideals of justice, freedom, courage and truth. When the Prophet’s companions were doing together something of importance, or facing danger, they might chant some poetry to express their unity of purpose. This is something common to all people, as we see the fans chanting support to their team during a match. One of the more difficult times the Prophet’s companions went through was when the Arab unbelievers colluded with the Jews and marched toward Madinah, pledged to annihilate Islam altogether. The Prophet ordered a moat to be dug outside Madinah, to deny the attacking army easy entry. The Prophet shared in digging it like everyone else, because the digging had to be completed within a short period of time. As they were engaged in this great effort, the Prophet’s companions chanted a rhyme saying: “Had it not been for God’s grace, we would not have known His guidance, and we would have neither given charity nor prayed. Our Lord! Grant us serenity in this difficult time, and steady our footsteps should we engage our enemy in battle. It is the other party that is the aggressor; but we will never yield to their persecution.†As they repeated this rhyme, the Prophet would raise his voice twice repeating its last word, abayna, which means “we will never yield.†But this was not the only rhyme the Prophet’s companions chanted as they were digging the moat. Another one repeated particularly by the Ansar may be translated as follows: “We are the ones who have given firm pledges to Muhammad that we will strive for God’s cause as long as we live.†The Prophet answered them with rhyming phrases, but not in prose, saying: “The only true life is that of the hereafter. My Lord, grant your bounty to the Ansar and the Muhajireen.†(Related by Al-Bukhari, Muslim and Ahmad.) Source

Eerie feeling to be looking around hoping the angel of death has left the building! It definitely sounds scary. I don't know how those people at Morges and Forensic labs do it.

I've gone into some of these female clothing stores (not by choice ofcourse ) and Moedesty's statements have truance to them. Most female clothes are very tight and cleavage centred-by design! It is what is fashionable and marketable. In that sense, females have a limited a choice. For modest clothing, they have to go to speciality stores that are expensive or the a muslim clothing store.

Originally posted by Ilhaam: The worst job I've ever had was working some marketing company that sells knives. It was the summer after I graduated from HS and I was eager to find a summer job. So after some searching, I found an Ad in the paper for this company that would pay $15/hr and needed students, no experience required. The interview was grueling, they took 2 at time and threw questions at us one at a time. After 3 days of training (unpaid of course) and paying $145 for a set of knives as a demo kit for my 'clients'... I had to make a list of names I would contact, family, friends, neighbours etc. and try to sell them $ 1000 dollar knives. Then I had to beg (pardon me, ask)for them to give me referrals to their friends, because we were not going to to do door to door soliciting as they promised. Yeah right! When your family and friends did not want to buy $1000 knives you had no other choice but to solicit  Imagine a stranger showing up at your doorstep with a bag full of knives  What an ingenious scam! You pay them $145 and work for them for bascially-free. I bet they knew you couldn't sell knives for $1000. So they made there bread and butter of you, the 'customer' aka the Employee. You got Punk'd! A slaughter house is just plain-sicking. 4000cows a day  Do you know how much one cow weights? nuff said. Counting the Till at the end of the day is a bit of pressure. I think thats why some employers count them every few hours, instead of a day end till count. That furniture job sounds back breaking, but at least you didn't have to lift that kind of weight up a ladder or carry it on a titled roof or walkway.

Salamun caliykum nomads, The other day I went to try out a 'cash' job over the weekend. I do have a full time job, during the weekdays. This job entailed working on roof tops of houses and fixing their shingles, putting on new ones. Those shingles are about 50kg a bag approx. that require hand lifting on a sloped roof. 50 bags or more in total. Take into account that the sun was over our heads and we only had 3 guys (bossman was working part time, going on extended leaves during the job) to the roof in One day. The owner was very greedy and was trying to squeeze out as much as pay as possible by finishing a house, a day-re-roofing. To make a short story shorter , we worked from early morning until sunset, with no lunch (boss/owner said that he would provide lunch and only came back with coffee and coke (of which I wanted to blast in his face) and no breaks. I've done that jobe before but we at least had lunch and breaks. This owner/punk was thinking of $$$. In anycase, I was sufferring from heatstroke, along with another guy who was 300lbs. I didn't stay until sunset and was like 'We didn't take the Boat, we Flew over here-so wrong n###a' and decided that was it. Well my body did that first and the fact that I could barely walk or sit or talk anymore. Nomads pls do share some of your most Horrific jobs and job experiences that you have had.

Let me ask you for the record, as a person who has no belief in Allah, or any other form of faith , what gives you the motivation or drive to dedicate your time so much to discredit everything Islamic or devine? I am sure that you can live more meaningful life without the trouble, and since you have no expectation of a life after death and hence no justice to expect, this life must be it, therefore, you must be getting a kick at chicks, chicks and chicks according to your published profile on this site, for that reason wouldnt it make sense for you to spend the rest of your life where they are plentyful and easy? unless of course you are getting them elsewhere and you are financing your lusts somehow by spreading ignorance on this site, which leaves me baffled as to who would pay you a salary for this dedication for decadence. For us Muslims, the motivation is a good life after death, we belive in a day of judgement and a justice for all matters worldly including the battle of teh camel, and that is the reason for our dedication without a pay. Can you say the same? Johnny Boy you had that coming....

Muslims join Da Vinci criticism Audrey Tautou and Tom Hanks star in The Da Vinci Code film Roman Catholics in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay) have received Muslim support in protests against the release of the movie, The Da Vinci Code. Film censors have cleared the movie for release in India on 19 May. An umbrella organisation of Islamic clerics in Mumbai have labelled the film as "blasphemous" because it spreads "lies" about Jesus Christ. One Roman Catholic activist has gone on what he says is a "hunger strike until death" unless the film is banned. 'Violent protests' "The Holy Koran recognises Jesus as a prophet. What the book says is an insult to both Christians and Muslims," Maulana Mansoor Ali Khan, general secretary of the All-India Sunni Jamiyat-ul-Ulema, told the Reuters news agency. The Da Vinci Code has generated controversy around the world "Muslims in India will help their Christian brothers protest this attack on our common religious belief," he said. His stance was supported by Syed Noori, president of Mumbai-based Raza Academy, a Muslim cultural organisation that organises protests on issues concerning Islam. "If the government doesn't do anything, we will try our own ways of stopping the film from being shown," he said. "We are prepared for violent protests in India if needed." A Roman Catholic activist, Joseph Dias, began a hunger strike on Tuesday which he said would be continued until the film is banned. Earlier this month hundreds of Catholic demonstrators gathered outside a convent school in Mumbai in protest over the film's release. I will continue my fast until they ban the film Joseph Dias, general secretary of the Catholic Secular Forum Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown explores the premise that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and produced children, whose descendants are alive today. The Catholic Secular Forum has described the film as "offensive" because hits "certain basic foundations of the religion". India's Central Board of Film Certification said Tuesday it would give the movie an adult rating if the film-makers agreed to a disclaimer at the start of the movie saying it was a work of fiction. "There is a visual of self-flagellation and limited amount of nudity in (one) particular scene," board member Vinayak Azad told the AFP news agency. "It has got adult content." One of the three Catholic representatives of the five-member board, the Rev Myron Pereira, said that it was cleared because the contention that Christ married was "fictional". "But it does not portray anything in an obscene fashion," he said. "People can protest about anything since we live in a democracy." It is estimated that there are about 18m Roman Catholics in India, with 500,000 living in Mumbai. The Christian community comprises about 2% of India's population Source

"> Its a very catchy song and performance. The man has got his own 'dusty foot' style. They asked him about Freedom on one show and his response was 'This might seem strange but freedom comes from Purification of the Soul'. He sounds like KOS but there is more pain in K'naan's voice and hunger (he's almost as skinny as the Olsen Twins )
