The Presidential Palace, the UNDP office and the Ethiopian Embassy were attacked by three separate suicide car bombs that exploded within minutes of each other. This is what happens when you welcome the terrorist thinking they are refugees and they can enjoy your freedom, peace and live a better life instead they turn on you, Somaliland needs to deport all refugees from ****** and Somalia, all ****** refugees should be handed over to Ethiopia, also that includes Oromo refugees. We will see the attacks keep watching the full video. Somaliland is peacefull and democratic nation they attacked somaliland at a time they were doing their voter registerations, gearing up for its presidential election, the people of somaliland will not tolerant terrorists or sympathize with them, they want to hold us hostage but the free world will stand against their barbaric acts and eliminate them for good. The terrorists want us to be part of their evil and satanic actions and that fake nation called Somalia that does not exist, however we refuse to be hold hostage and we will fit back. In the mean time Somaliland needs to search all those refugees homes, close down their little shops, monitor them, build better security in this sort of buildings by building barriers so trucks or cars can not access the building. They need to create huge space between the main roads and important buildings. They need to seek the assistance of the US, UK and France to eliminate this satanic and sick evils for once. Cawords who can not even fight instead they blow themselves on innocent women and children. We feel you America, we know what you facing. We are with you the free and democratic world, we now know how dangerous this evils are. ====================== We need all Somalilanders and all peace loving people wherever you from to help this innocent people by making donations or by any other means. Alot of people have been wounded and Somaliland lacks the basic medical facilities as its not a recognized country yet so it would be great if people from the US, United Kingdom, other parts of Africa, EU or Asia could reach out for Somaliland and help this people. If you are from the West i advice you to pass this video to your friends and colleagues and try to find out more about Somaliland and how you can assist. I know you all count and can do something, everyone counts when it comes to fighting caword terrorists. Jahil foqol jahil JB, internet blogger extraordinare baa taxay. Isn't it our responsibility to analyse and reject any interpretations of the Quran that contradicts how the Prophet(peace be upon him) ruled? 1. Shariah is not hudood/Punitive law. Who is "our"? By "Our" do you mean the Individual? the ulama/Islamic scholars? he legislators/burocrats? on the other hand, is one that is open to analysis and criticism. Expand on that a little bit. Does an Analysis follow criticism? If so, why? Is there room for "objective" Analysis? Is there need for "further" analysis if we have 1400 yrs. Islamic scholarship?

Is media selective in their reporting? = Yes. But that’s another subject it doesn’t take away from the heinousness of this miscarriage of justice under the Islamic banner. And why does one trump the other? What you are essientially advocating for is hearsay. It doesn't have to be necessarily true or the exact information is not needed. All that is needed is hearsay. e.g. Report - Serenity is a lazy co-worker. Response from co-workers - "Oh, we always knew she didn't pull her weight. Always on-line chatting." So now we see Serenity under that light - the Lazy Co-Worker.[/b] Secondly, I think that you people have a problem with the whole idea of stoning an adulterer. Its gruesome to the western sensbility. This reminds of the ayat in sura al Baqarah, Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But God knoweth, and ye know not. verse 216

You people are gullible to the sensationalism of the media. Now why would an english paper give a damn two pennies about a "stoning" in somalia. Unless ofcourse, it serves their purpose - Sensationalism via Villifying muslims. When the wadaads clean up the streets, is that a worthy article? When the wadaads give back properties to their owners, is that in the english papers? when the wadaads open up schools, is that in the english man's papers? You are all gullible individuals. The same people who cheer on Obama just because the papers Cheer him on and ignore his foreign stance i.e. allegiance to Isreal and continuation of American foreign policy

The Politics section is an endless pit of arguments - SubhanaAllah! I wasted precious work time on here today. Duke and others, how do you keep your jobs and manage to be in here ALL DAY?

I don't think ThePoint has a Point to make. It is just sentiment. Your angry and you want to point a finger at the wadaads.

Sabir iyo imaan walaal. One day near the end of ramadan, I was at the masjid and just as I was leaving, I heard this young 20's something egyptian brother on his cell phone calling various masjids to have janaaza prepared and done for his father - who just passed away. He was having difficulty with getting what he wanted (it turned out he wanted the janaaza at a particular time because of relatiaves flying in). It is sad witnessing that and at that same time a stark reminder of what is a sure thing for all of us.

What is much worse than handing over people to your enemies is suicide bombing. I'm afraid it's not even a comparison. And the 'good wadaads' have intorduced this fitna to Somalia and bear full responsibility. And the gall to claim the mantle of islamnimo. What this does: Give reason to hate wadaads Bring about old clan conflicts in that region Give the U.S. reason to come to Somaliland Have the weak of Iman doubt DEEN Massive arrests to make it look like Justice is being sought Ngonge, You always speculating and doubting - whats new?

The concept of the Birthday ritual is antiethical to Religion. Religion is Theocentric (centered on GOD) and modernism of which the concept of Birthday is part of is centered on the Individual - Nafsani. There are great souls in the islamic tradition who's birthday's have been celeberated and they were celeberated because their lives where Centered on GOD. Ofcourse, with some of these practices people went to extremes with their devotion. Office politics have to be played well but at what points should you draw the line?
-
From my experience, the translations and the 'abridged versions' always distort the authors work. The western bias always seeps through the English translation.
-
So i'm at the office and I get a co-worker pass me a birthday card. There is already a 'mandatory' birthday card signing (according to the birthday gal at work) coming up at week's end and I get a Pop Quiz like this before the Test day. I didn't sign today's card cause I just had it with this bullying. Its a new office and everyones new here and the social networking is in full form. What to do people? I don't even celeberate my kids birthdays and now this office politics is backing up against the corner - Principle or Strategy or Sell Out? Any one had a similiar experience?

^^^^ Preach on sista souljah, preach on! Do tell about the transformation of the farmer into a ford plant worker who is measured by 'Efficiency' . Is education only a classroom thing? Do we stop learning once the bell goes? But now, kids with degrees are often heading home to carry on playing video games, because you need a master's degree where the previous job required a bachelor's degree, and now you need a PhD for the job that once required an MA. So true....I got friends who PH.D's and are now indebted for the rest of their lives to pay for their education and their partner has a Masters, so the two of them are now caught in the dissmal cycle of: WORK Daycare Pay Loans One thing that the western mindset ignores and its that WE ARE ALWAYS LEARNING. Be it the subject is good or bad for us. The only time we are not learning something is when we are asleep.

Originally posted by Nur: Thanks for the good observation of the institution of Baitul Maal Al Islami ( Islamic Wealth Depository) is where public wealth is stored to be dispensed for the public. Its where the Zakat funds are stored and where welfare payments are administered for the poor or government spending on public projects in an Islamic state. The Bank on the other hand is a private institution whose sole business is lending money for profit. The Banks securitize the loans the give, in essence they have the same wealth in different forms all the time ( Collaterals or deposits) and as time ticks, money is being generated with time, a risk free business. As for wealth management, Allah entrusted wealth in our care so: First: We earn it equitably ( Fairly) Second: We spend it wisely ( Not wasting it on forbidden activities) Third: We share it with those in need in three ways: a. Loan with no interest b. Gift. c. Poors Due( Sadaqa) While wealth is in our care, we invest it and grow it by circulating it in the community, so that everone has access to wealth to generate more wealth through entrepre(Nur)ial activities . Contrary to usury based Wealth Management, Islamic Wealth Management is benevolent, community oriented to satisfy the needs of all segments so that evil is not committed due to poverty. ( crimes are mostly driven by unfair financial disparities in a society, prostitution, drugs, murder etc.) Why is Islamic Wealth Management Community Oriented and not individual oriented? If I want to be rich and just pay my zakat, then whats wrong with that? Islamic Wealth Managemnt takes many forms such as : 1. Investment in public infrastructure 2. Investment in Education 3. Trade Finance ( Muraabaha, Mushaarka etc.) 4. Investment in Manufaturing ( Istisnaac) 5. Investment in public and private Housing. 6. Investment in Agriculture ( Ijaara, Istizraac) What I fail to understand is how 'Islamic financing' as practiced now is a feasible option for a muslim in non muslim lands. If an Islamic finance schemes will resell you a home that was at market price originally for $300, 000 and not give it you halal at $350, 000 or ask you to pay a whopping 25% on a downpayment compared to some mortgage companies asking for 5% or less, then is it a viable option for the muslim (meaning something realistic) or does it just put us at an economic disadvantage? Nur, I am in agreement with all that you said in this thread. Good discussion. Fi Amanillah

Nur you said its meant to circulate to benefit the community like a vital blood vein What about the concept of Baytul Mal? Islamic Banks are on the heals of Modern Banks, they have translated the terms and practices, but the spirit remains the same, the Maqaasidul Shariica ( Moral of Allah's law) is being violated. That is what I meant by the "spirit" or Maqaasid Ul Shariica, my dear sister. is it Halal? That is a tough question, the best thing I can say, is: Allah says in Quraan : "Fattaquullaha mas tadactum" (Beware Allah as much as you can). Its a personal call, for me, in a time when my sphere of influence is limited, I use personal judgement I can sleep with at night and look myself in the mirror in the morning after. Islam and Banking don't go together. I agree. Just explain to the nomads the idea of 'Wealth Management' in the Shariah. Whats the purpose of Wealth? Why accumulate it? Is there a confusion of principles here? Are Capitalistic ideas being "Islamized"?
-
Salams, Nur by extension then your response raises the question: Is attending the janazza/funeral of a non-muslim something halal or haram in Islam? And in the example you gave of the jewish boy, was the boy of puberty age which would make him a 'man' and 'responsible' in the eyes of the Shariah or was he a "boy" in all definition. Fi Amanillah

female reporter attends prayer meetings at an important British mosque which claims to be dedicated to moderation and dialogue with other faiths. She secretly films shocking sermons given to the women-only congregation in which female preachers recite extremist and intolerant beliefs. As hundreds of women and some children come to pray, a preacher calls for adulterers, homosexuals, women who act like men and Muslim converts to other faiths to be killed, saying: "Kill him, kill him. You have to kill him, you understand. This is Islam." Worshippers are repeatedly told they must lead separate lives from non-believers and not tolerate other religions. Christian teachings are described as "vile and disgusting, an abomination." And at private, invite-only prayer meetings linked to the mosque, the reporter films the leading preacher from the women's prayer circle issuing strict dictats on women's personal freedoms - decreeing they must not travel far without a male member of the family to escort them, and instructing them not to integrate with British society or work in a non-Islamic environment. To the nonmuslim sensibility this is crazzzzzy to the muslim senisbility, this is correct! Muslims are different and you can't control their beliefs or thoughts. Brit reports are a bunch of wankers!

Palin rebuts rumors, says daughter pregnant Module body Mon Sep 1, 4:57 PM 22 What's this By Steve Holland ADVERTISEMENT ST. PAUL (Reuters) - The 17-year-old unmarried daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child. Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, according to aides of Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, the aides said. The Palins, in a statement released by the McCain campaign, said Bristol "came to us with news that we as parents knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned" and that their daughter "has our unconditional love and support." "We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates," their statement said. Senior McCain campaign officials said McCain knew of the daughter's pregnancy when he selected Palin last week as his vice presidential running mate, deciding that it did not disqualify the 44-year-old governor in any way. McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" that have circulated on liberal blog sites. According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in April to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother. PRO-LIFE GROUPS OFFER SUPPORT Palin is staunchly anti-abortion, and pro-life groups welcomed the decision to keep the child. James Dobson, an influential Christian evangelical conservative, said his Focus on the Family group had always counseled young mothers to see their pregnancies through, "even though there will be of course challenges along the way." "That is what the Palins are doing, and they should be commended once again for not just talking about their pro-life and pro-family values, but living them out even in the midst of trying circumstances," he said in a statement. Charmaine Yoest, head of Americans United for Life, said, "We join them in welcoming this new life." The McCain campaign was outraged by the blog rumors. "There's no doubt that liberal blogs such as one called www.barackoblogger.com and some in the mainstream media were pushing a false story about Gov. Palin's most recent pregnancy with fervor," said senior McCain adviser Nicolle Wallace. A senior McCain official said its camp had no evidence that the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama was pushing the story, but said the blog rumors circulating on websites that appeared to support Obama had the effect of being "a real anchor around the Democratic ticket." OBAMA OFFENDED Speaking to reporters in Monroe, Michigan, Obama said he was offended by the McCain aide's statement and that he considered people's families off-limits. "We don't go after people's families. We don't get them involved in the politics. It's not appropriate and it's not relevant. Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. And if I ever thought there was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they'd be fired," Obama said. Obama also said: "This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor or potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories." The news broke as Republicans gathered in St. Paul for their convention to formally nominate McCain and Palin as the party's candidates. Palin is only the second woman picked as a U.S. vice presidential nominee. In the short period since she was announced last Friday, Palin has helped to energize the Republican Party's conservative base, giving McCain fresh energy going into the campaign for the November 4 election against Obama and his No. 2 Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware. (Additional reporting by Caren Bohan and Ed Stoddard) Politricks at their best. Since when did it not matter what your family does or what you do in your home in Politics???
