if I were in a position to approve such targets, I would do it all day long and put my support behind it. The only one advocating for innocent civilians being killed is you, except there is a small correction to make - you are for innocent muslim civilians being killed. Maybe Cara should give you a 15min. free psych evualition. Should we actually get a return for a her B.A. in Psych. that it is collecting dust.

Your a gaal who wants a secular system for somalia because of your own interest!! thats all what this is about.. That is exactly what its all about - self interest motivation to turn Somalia into a Secular state again (like in the Siyad Barre days, looking all european and adopting euro culture). Ailamos and B are just not being honest with themselves. They want a Somalia that advocates for what is in their hearts - secular liberal ideals, that come into conflict with our deen and way of life.

Blessed wrote: how do we reconcile this with secular ideals that oppose these fundamental tenets of the Quran? to which ailamos wrote back: A very good question, the answer to which I currently do not have and would like to know if someone else does. Ailamos, you already picked a side which you have been advocating for. The world is built on hierarchies (top - low, old-young, rich-poor, best-worst etc.) and therefor, you can not have to equal things. Secularism advocates for the total eradication of religion by seperating reality from religion, religion in the marketplace from religion in the home etc. Whereas religion aims to include GOD in everything, be it the marketplace, the workplace or the bedroom etc. When there is a conflict between the two (which is almost always) you have to pick a side and secularism doesn't accept anything that is a threat to its existence (hence why niqabs are being called for banning, you can't have polygamous marriages, you can't preach certains parts of the deen related to gender issues - openly etc). You can't reconcile the two diametrically opposed world views. Everyday, you are being asked to make a choice. For those that don't agree, I dare you to have a conversation with your classmates or coworkers about the issue of khaneeism in Islam and the punishment for it (and tell them that you believe in the punishment for it because that is what Islam says) and see what can of reaction you receive or reprecussions come your way.

Karl saxib, Pay attention to this ayat Also, Allah Ta'ala says, "And never (O Muhammad ) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fasiqoon (rebellious, - disobedient to Allah and His Messenger, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). (9:84) If going to a nonmuslim funeral is halal under all conditions, then it would mean that you approve of their actions and decision i.e. them not accepting islam and if that is the case, then why bother be a muslim because after all, my neighbor was a good person and I don't have to be a muslim to be a good person (the logical rationale that would follow ref. to somalicentrics agruments). Hey, I went one time because all my coworkers were going (a funeral home - eulogy/cremation ceremony) and I later found out that my actions were wrong. So please ya ikhawni (those who still profess Islam) don't confuse sentiments (our feelings of obligations and duty to others, our personal perferences) to what is right or wrong.

Can anybody give me the list of muslims scholars that the U.S. approves that I can follow? If there are no scholars, then a list of U.S. and its approval board countries(the usual suspects) figures that are deemed to be towing the party lines. How about an edited version of the quran and hadith that is published by penguin books or that I can downnload off the apple stores?

Bismillah Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance) It is not permitted for a Muslim to pray or visit a non-Muslims funeral or their non-Muslim's relatives funeral. This prohibition is clearly stated in the Quran. Allah Most High says: “It is not for the Prophet and those who believe to pray for the forgiveness of idolaters even though they may be near of kin after it has become clear that they are people of hell-fire.” (9: 113,114) The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was prevented from praying for his uncle Abu Talib by Allah Most High. Similar was the case of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (Alaihis Salam). Allah Ta'ala says:"Verily, you cannot guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom he wills-He knows best those who are guided." (28:56) Allah Ta'ala says: "Ask forgiveness for them, or do not ask forgiveness for them! If you should ask forgiveness for them seventy times- never will Allah forgive them." (9:80) Also, Allah Ta'ala says, "And never (O Muhammad ) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fasiqoon (rebellious, - disobedient to Allah and His Messenger, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). (9:84) From the above , we understand that Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was ordered not to pray or stand at the grave of the hypocrite, Abdullah ibn Ubay. However, this does not only apply to hypocrites but to unbelievers also, as they disbelieved in Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). If a non-Muslim relative has no other relatives to bury him/her, then it will be permissible for the Muslim to only bury, not to pray or supplicate. (Ma'ariful Quran Vol. 6 Pg. 433/437) Offering condolences at the time of bereavement: It will be permissible to visit a non-Muslim to offer one’s condolences for a family bereavement. (Ahsanul Fataawa Vol. 4 Pg. 243) It is stated in al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya: “If a non-Muslim dies, one may say to the deceased’s father or some other relative of his: “May God recompense you with someone better and honour you with Islam, and that He bestow you with a Muslim child…” (al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya, 5/348) Thus, it will be permitted to visit a non-Muslim in the event of a family bereavement. And Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best. Link

I answered before I had my coffee....thanks for the heads up mate. They are both in the same league.... I am sorry that I am not familiar with all the athiests - Just mostly the SOL ones!

Layzie, Its not halal in the shariah for a muslim to be killed by a non-muslim and muslims can't hand over muslimeen to non-muslims e.g. somalia handing over a somali to the U.K. etc..

Dawkins is cursed in this world and the hereafter (how do I know - cause he advocates for kufr while he is crippled and can't go to the washroom by himself)

Interesting discussion and the only with some clarity is Maaddey. The point of contention is: - the whole Idea of an American Idol style poetry contest in the muslim world? - Insulting muslims and the ulama on T.V. and being applauded for it (it is a sign of fusuq and not iman).

You need to be a little crazzzzy to understand craziness.

But this is glamourized and encouraged by rewarding the Poets on Television with an audience and money. What was once scandolous and private, is now being encouraged and praised. For what - for progress, freedom, self expression? It is mimicing shows like American Idol and the X-Factor etc. It was Doha Debates before, wherein any part of the religion could be questioned and voted on and now it is a poetry competition (with a mixed congration, money to be won and a name to fame to be bough), wherein anything goes. There is no modesty in such an affair and islamic norms are not taken into consideration because that is not the focus at all. Hooryaaaaaa!!!

How many somalis are there in Beijeng or Shanghai? By the way, what does your pen name mean?
-
They did a study on Oprah with women, men and attractiveness. They found that as soon as some women found out how much a man paid, their attractiveness towards that man jumped dramatically. He wasn't ugly no mo! I remember once when I was youngered and was working for "free" (the free part I found out, once my pay day come around and I was told "Sorry, didn't you read the fine print" ) that one of the bosses said " Money can't buy you happy but it sure can RENT IT for you!" Money can and often does buy you Power and Prestige which translates to RESPECT. There isn't such a thing as unconditional love in this world, its all conditional on the size of the wallet.

Sherbeen, What's your stake in this? What is in it for a romanian young buck? - Are you muslim? Are you part somali? Do just have itchy fingers? -Are you missionary?

I have seen one for dahabshiil and it fed a bad image - broken families (husband gone off somewhere far to work, family somewhere else to live. Hubby has to send wife money via dahabshiil.) It was a sad depection of bad choices made by somalis.

whatever you say about him (and on the day of judgment he may turn out to be the biggest zandeeq Allah ever created), today, now, he is a million times the man that you are. You are not making sense at all. Wa iskaa xadhalisa saxib. Why don't you respond to the overwhelming evidence posted by Kashafa?

Just as you asked me to give the scholars the benefit of the doubt - you must give the benefit of the doubt to those dissenters. You are asking too much saxib of Ngonge, way too much saxib. In anycase, this thread is about Al-Azhar Heads being appointed by the Eyptian government. Which means ultimately that anything that they write or say has to tow the line, has to be pro-gov. agenda and not to the contrary. It means that the deen can and will be comprimised (a suite and tie wearing, clean shaven arab "alim" - what connection or allegiance to the deen does his image portray?
