Be prepared to become humbled and very patient. Ibti, Your advice was terrible and very pessimistic. U still married?

Blackberry is not cool and sexy anymore. If they can secure big contracts with the financial firms and generate the buzz again - they might stand a slim chance. Too many issues and too many delays.

What are some of you going to say in the qiyama when such men are ahead of you and you are asked about what your excuses were? I once saw a one legged brother trying to stand up straight by himself for salat. It was a sight to behold.

Where does the saying of Habir Wadaag come from, if the relationship names are based on the Patriarchy? Good discussion

I am also proud of Zam Zam Mohammed Farah who ran the 400m while fasting and with her hijab on. Even though she came in last place, she never completely sold out. She could have just ate and drank before the race to gain energy but stood her ground. Baraka Allah feeka! Now on to Usain Bolt....i smell a new world record.....that boy better not jog the 100m like he did in the qualifying heat.

Why you drunken bastarrrd....did you also drive after you drank that....ofcourse, anything is doable in Hargeysa as long as you carry that green leaf currency.

History was made! The British press on Mo Farah's win.

Finally a Somali in the news for good thing. So today, all your Somalis in Britain are British. Just don't efff it up tomorrow, or else you are all back to Somali refugee status. Kudos, to Farah! -
Put some fil fil (black peppers) on it too. Just don't mix it with the honey and eggs or else you might lose more hair. Heck, its a worth a try and if it works send me a message cause I need to patent the idea. Another word of advice - do not get a line up or a fade any more. That line passes the equator saxib and yes it is true that your choice of the qalanjoos decreases with the biddar unless you go back to Somalia/Somaliland/Puntland/Ina Hiblayo's 5 acres or Habir Cuulosis 20 hectares. In which cases, all that will be accepted is that you have white teeth and make dahab shiil money.

I was just thinking of this today. Hyundai has made great strides in the last 10yrs with their new models. The Sonta and Gensis have become sexed up and do not look like nerdy japanese cars like the toyotas. Hyundai's affordability, durability and sleekly fleets have made them capture an ever greater market share in the auto sector for sedans, mid-size cars and small 4x4 vehicles - in the past 10yrs.

I can in many ways relate to what this young lady in the video is saying. She feels that her skin colour has become a disability for her and that she is often devalued and pegged into a socio-racial class because of her race. The afro-american or any person of color will always feel displaced in this society. We have been displaced and have sough pyschological refuge in the standards set by the dominate white class. After all, they dictated: when we could become "free", when we could "move from the back of the bus to the front", when we could "vote" and what neighbourhoods and jobs fit us the best (ghettos and manual labor jobs because black people are naturally built like donkeys - tough). Just because Montell or Robin has become a little richer does not invalidate the argument. Exceptions prove the rule because they are after all exceptions. Signed, A Lifer refugee that seeks refuge in God

What is strange is how the nafs works. We forget and forget that we are in a state of forgetfulness most the time. The story of Iblis and Adam comes to mind. When Iblis out of pride said about Adam to God - You have created him from clay and created me from Fire. A sign of the pride from Iblis that ousted him from his close proximity with God because of that sign - Pride (marked with forgetfulness of the nafs).
-
Truely, they are all forgetful (ghafiluun). While the Believers strive in the path of God during this Ramadan, the rest of the world watches the Olympics - not mindful of God (olympics at their greek origin where a tribute to the Greek Gods). I saw the world preoccupied in the opening cerominies today, while most muslims were preoccupied about Ramadan (fasting, praying, reading quran, weakened energy, purification of the soul through the siyaam).

According to the new age mottos, morals and values change with the time. Definitions are always interpretive and relative. Case in point being the idea of the nucleus family.

but it was not a stunt designed only to shock, but one aimed at underlining a problem. And the problem is not 14-year-old grade 8 boys buying booze, but of anyone wearing a burka or veil, rarely being questioned. They should be arrested for coercing a 14yr old into buying alcohol under age. What they did was unacceptable and the police should charge them for this ridiculous circus act.

Strange how shallow all their reflections are. This is what the Quran says about self-reflection, of when one leaves this world and is finally awakened by the Qiyama (Resurrection) { يَقُولُ يٰلَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي } [89:24] He will say, “O Would that I had sent ahead (some good deeds) for (this) my life!”

Are you asking if ignorance negates the law? Case in point, X drives at 60mph per hour but the zone stated 40mph as the speed limit. Officer pulls X over for speeding. X's argument to the Officer for driving over the limit is - I didn't know that this was a 40mph zone. "Verily the hearts are not satisfied except with the Rememberance of Allah"

NGONGE;753830 wrote: Erdogan and his lot had to change names and colours for so long before they became acceptable to the Turkish army and world powers. The older incarnations of Erdogan's party would not have dreamt of doing half the things (and concessions) they're doing now. . and changing the colors of each "islamic political party" in the arab spring revolutionized nations is what is being pushed for by the dominant powers that be. Why else would Cameron, Obama and their French counterpart have meetings with the leaders of these movements and work tiredlessly to get them to meet their concessions. On a more insidious note, the push for voting on the changing and creation of constitutions firs, before party elections is more of a threat to the muslims because it is set to undermine, to undermine and to undermine more - the shariah and the influence of shariah in these muslim countries. How so? Simply put, by having all selected or elected parties come under the banner of constitutionalism and not the shariah. So that when something like free expression comes up for the young bloggers, a potential ruling islamic party can not curtail that aspect of the consitution (the right to freedom of expression) by citing any part of the quran, hadiths and islamic rulings. By default, the Shariah will become Null and Void - which is the ultimate aim of the shayateen. -
What happened to Bahrain, Syria and Yemen? Are they not allowed to have their revolutions and why is old lady liberty and her allies silent about those nations?

For the Christian world, it is definitely the birth of Jesus/Isa. For the ahl al kitab (jews, muslims and christians), it is the story of the creation of Man (this includes the creation of Hawa). For the majority of people, both events are not relevant and important because they point to religious dogma - which is by and large a social taboo. Che, do you know what they call black people in Boston? Hint: Its the day of the week everybody dislikes.

Yunis, and why should they govern like the Turkish party? Has anything changed there is that party came to power? -
The symbolism behind Hawa being from Adam's Rib is an antithesis to the thinking of our times. For women to have been created 2nd and from a Man's body part - that is blasphemous to the modern Apple generation psycho fanatics. The birth of Prophet of Isa is a testament to the God's attribute as the Creator and the Fashioner. For all things are possible with God and God can break all the rules to make a statement. To prove that God is Greater then what he has created, what he has said and what has done.

Salams, With the emergence of facebook, twitter, blackberrys and iphones, came a decline in attention spans and intelligence in people. Hence, discussions about islamic values and principles are no longer tolerable (the irony of the liberal mindset - All is acceptable except God) and reflections are a thing of the yesterdays. SOL has been a victim of that as its users are not drinking canoo geel but rather drinking the Apple flavored Kool-Aide! The SOL of 10 years was new and exciting and the site back then provided a platform for English-fluent Somalis to engage in meaningful dialogues. Unfortunately, that is not the same anymore because of the changing internet Somali demographic and the overall populus somali mentality - whichis an oxymoron because they are no longer somali in custom and mentality. By this, I mean the majority are no longer Muslim in personality and their allegiance (what is in their hearts, manifested in their writings and arguments) is no longer with Allah and his rasul (salallahu calihi wasilm). JazaKa Allah khayrun for your efforts and good demeanor.

Such comments can not come from the lips of someone that has submitted to Allah and is a Muslim.
