Salams, 'ALLAH IS THE SECRET OF SECRETS-SIRR AL ASRAR' No mathematical or scientific rational arguement can or should be made to Prove Allah's existance and those who try to do so are in error. ISLAM is Super-rational and not rational. This is why the Ulama looked down open the philosphers and their rational explaination of the deen. Every explanation of Islam and Allah are based upon someone's level of Understanding and comprehension. We each have a different level of understanding of Allah and the deen and its limited because we are not GOD. No INSAN (Human) is capable of completely understanding the Being of All Beings, subhanhauwatacallah.

Salams, Do you ever think of why something happens to a people/a nation? In the quran Allah destroyed a people and easliy replaced them with another because they did not take his warning seriously and became deviant. I.e. The people of Noah, Yusuf, Lut and etc. Why are the natives today nearly non existent in the western world? Why are Somalians becoming the people without a country? Forget about Somali land, cause no one recognizes it around the world too. Surely, Somalis must have deviated from the Quran and Sunnah or else this would not have happend to them. Triblism in Somalia is tantamount to that of the Qureysh and the tribes that existed pre-islam in arabia. It was a big source of Jahil back then and it is what destroyed the somali people. Tribilism was their Deen and not Islam. I am asking myself some of these question too? The answers are always in the Metaphysical and not in the 'blame who' arguments.

Salams, Allah shakes you up because you are not taking his ayats (signs) too seriously some times. He did this to the people of Nuh, Lut and many of the other anbiyah and their people. For the sister that that said that this event has shattered her 'dream' of Islam and muslims living in Unison with the West, ARE YOU AWAKE NOW! Alhamdullilah this has shown us that most muslims are weak and there are many ulama who are munafiqoon. As a muslim, if you are getting too comfortable with your deen, then there is something wrong with it because if you live in the qurba, then expect your deen to be tested over and over again. If it isn't being tested, then that means you are selling your deen and soul for the dunya. If you want the Akheera, you have to sacrfice the dunya.

Salams, Waryadha! Anyone seen this movie. I watched this movie last night. Xasoostee dhalkanee ba eesoogalay. The theater was huge and the crowd was large. I went to the early show last night and the crowd was Lively!!! Let me tell you this, Ain't No Crowd like a Somalian Crowd. We are ghettttto to the last letter and were not afraid to bum rush the floor and stampede over others. LOL The movie as usual started late. Let's say 1hr later than it was suppose to start. Islammahana they were Wildin' Out. Hustling to get to the front of the crowd by Any Means Necessary. So as the door opened up, the stampede began and every one was for themselves to catch a seat. I'm loving it cause I haven't seen so many somalis at one place feeling so good before 12am The lights become dim and the movie credits come on. The somali music is turned on and starts to blast in into your earns, entering into every ones veins. The crowd is singing and clapping right along. $10 for all this and I've already got my money's worth and the movie hasn't begun yet. The movie beguns and its constant laughs from start to finish. Not because the movie is funny but because of everyones reactions and comments. Everyone is a director in the theater and yelling at the screen telling the actor what to do 'Dhogkun ya hoo, Run for your life' one girl beside me yells loudly. When there is an action seen or a song and dance routine in the movie the crowd gets up and is clubbing and licking shots in the air. LOL!!! Money paid for movie $10 Money spent for popcans that were smuggled into the movie $3-$4 The atompshere- A++. The Memory and Nostaligic feeling- PRICELESS!!! COMING TO A THEATER NEAR YOU!

BEING TWENTY - SOMETHING They call it the "Quarter-life Crisis." It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now. You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you. You look at your job... and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you. Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't. One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try to realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward. You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person. One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap. Getting wasted and acting like an ***** starts to look pathetic. You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision. You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself... and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender! What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.

Salams, Here's my two cents of Venting!!! - Don't like the fact that some how I ended up growing in the west where I can't feel 'free' to be muslim without getting cut off from society. My parents migrated to the West not for Allah but for Dunya and now I have to suffer for it. -Hate the fact that I'm in my mid 20's and I'm struggling with my deen more than I did when I was in my teens. -Don't like the fact that I have been living in a single family since I was a child. -Don't like the fact that my mom's husband just took off and they got a divorce when they just bought a new home. Now, I can't move out to get married and the longer I live under my mother's roof, my deen is in jeopardy cause I don't have control over my house (even though I pay most of the bills!) -Can't stand the fact that Most Black men seem to run away from their families. Irresponsible!!! -Ramadan is almost done and I have to wait another yr. just to see that there is a muslim community out here. The Masjids are packed but the day after, they're empty and we all return to the same pre-ramadan condition that we were in. -Can't stand the fact that I can't seem to trust the next muslim or somali to help you out when you are in real need of help and advice. Most people don't care about you and when it comes time to test your relationship with them, they usually end up failing and cutting you off short. -Can't stand the fact that I got a younger sister who's in here 20's and she makes life miserable for everyone in the family. No matter how much you try to reach out to here, she still breaths fire!!! She's like a dragon and she feels any feather that comes down on here as if it were a Brick! On a lighter note, -Can't stand senior citizen or chinese drivers. -People with sausage breathers on the train or bus. There is nothing worse thatn Sausage Breath. To add, why don't people check there breathes before they get on Public Transit with people! -Every women that you look at seems to think that you are trying to hit on her especially Somali Sisters. Please, God gave me eyes and just cause I'm looking at your direction women, don't mean I'm checking you out. -Why are there so many pop ups on the net. Can't stand those Ads. -Why do we have to work from 9-5. Why can't we just be paid for the amount of work we do and just come in whenever we want to. I'm not a morning person, as you can see! I had a quote from the quran before where in the Kuffar tried to wage war against the muslims during on of the sacred months that fighting was prohibited for muslims. The kuffar wanted to use this agains the rasul (sallallahu caliyhe wasilm) and his sahaba. They wanted to use their deen against them to defeat the muslims. In this day and age this is the exact thing that is going on. The kuffar erect a societies based on interest and loan muslim nations money with interest knowing well they can't pay it back. They have a anvy ship stationed at every harbour in the muslim world knowing that muslims can't object to it because we dont' have money to defend ourselves and the only weapon we could use against them they bring Ulama to tell the Muslims Ummah that its Haram. It's the 21st century, do you want to just give up and set in some cave or just assimiliate with them and lose your deen. I want non of that. The only ulama who help the ummah combat the kuffar through their ijtihad (their advice to the muslim community based on their knowledge on how to combat daily issues thru the Islamic culture (quran, sunnah, seerah, sayings of ulama etc.)usually get shut down quick and labelled. In 2:217 when the Kuffar decided to attack the muslims during the sacred month, Allah sent down an ayat saying Fighting during the sacred months is allowable and is the most during those months. FITNAH IS WORSE THAN KILLING (Causing corruption in the land). Why was this ayat sent? P.S. We are participating in a healthy discussion here and that is what it is. I'm here to show that there are many views in the deen. You can agree with the one and disagree with another one. But islam is not One Narrow way of thinking.

Salams, The question then is How do you chose what to follow if you don't have enough knowledge? Are you your own shiekh/Imam? If you said Yes to the latter, then this is what many of the agnostics and kuffars say too. They say that they follow their own spirituality and take a little bit of what they like from every religion aka A deluxe pizza. Truth is this means that they would be committing Shirk because they are so engulfed in their hawa (their ego's) so much so that they think that they are better then all the religious traditions, subhanallah!!! This goes for many muslims too. You can not choose your way in the deen. You need a guide. You need to follow inshallah a shiekh/Imam and adhere to their advice 'He who has no Shiekh, the Shatan becomes his Shiekh' and I'm not talking about a dead sheikh but a Living Shiekh/Imam. You can not pick and choose Shiekhs according to what you agree or disagree with them (as many muslims do). Schools of Fiqh and Schools of Thought (Aqeeda) are different. Schools of thought are a way of thinking .The two main schools of thought in Islam are the Sunni adn Shia and within are many subschools such as the Ashari's, Mutuzalayites, Salafis,Ithanashari (12 Imams), Ghazzalis (I think!) and so on. Then there are the tariqa's that look at things from a 'Bigger Picture', a more metaphysical and intellectual outlook towards the deen and life. Since we live in the West now, its difficult to follow one school of fiqh. Inshallah, an Imam/Spiritual guide/Shiekh would be able to discern whats best for his followers. This inshallah is a great topic and when that requires more indepth discussion which I hope we can continue with time, inshallah. People always ask since there are sooo many views in Islam, which one is right and which one should I follow? Remember this, Islam is not an Individual religion but a religion based Community (Jammat).

Salams, If I'm not mistaken, the Canadian Miss World Contestant made a statement in supoort of the muslims saying that 'ofcourse, its disrespectful to muslims to have this pageant during Ramadan'. This is why she was not sure if she would be allowed back into the pageant. Did you know that a Deputy Governor (Senior Muslim Judge)in Nigeria issued a fatwa asking for that female writer's 'you know what' to be served (preferably with some coscus on Eid!)

Salams, I'm sure u must have heard of the situation in Nigeria by now. Alhamdulillah, there are some people of the ummah that would defend the honour of the rasul (salalallahu caliyhe wasalam). This incident inshallah, should remind the kufar and the munafiqoon to be more respectful of Islam and islamic personalities. The nerve of them to hold it in a muslim nation and on ramadan. I'm glad that those whores were rushed out of there so that there pedicures and hair wouldn't get messed. Although, there are things that the usual critic can pin point about the situation, the job was done. Allah has used this situation to protect the diginity fo the rasul (salalallahu caliyhe wasalam).

Salams, You know comparing Somali kids who have grown up in the west with single parents vs. a holistic family (both parents being present) and this also extends to the larger muslim community, parents play a HUGE ROLE in shaping the character of their children. Single mothers just can't do the job and are often too lax on their children interms of disciplining them. Were as in the holistic family, the father always reinforces that role of being strict and adhering to principles. No matter what the environment, the parents play a bigger role in shaping the character of their children because they are the ones that censor much of the negativities that come around their children. But both parents stand losing their children if Deen is not the primary player in the families life. 'A good tree often bears pleasant fruits'

Salams, My examples are very common and occur every day! The reactions that I have gotten so far from the males, have been predictable. Let me ask this question the men who replied back, after the Sept.11th incident when muslims where being targeted and being harassed in the North American and in Europrean streets and subways, did u think to yourself this-The muslim men are safe because they can easily assimilate into the culture but the muslim sisters are not and therefore a very visible target. Reason being their Hijab is very visibile. During those days, did any one of you muslim men who disagree with me decide to share the pain of the sisters and look visibily muslim ('He who imitates a people, is from them' and this is a hadith read bukhari or muslim!). This is a rhetorical question because I know the answer to it already. Most muslim men in the west are oppressive towards women. Double Standard big time!
