  1. 14. Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: Women and sons; Heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world's life; but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (To return to). Juz 3, Sura Al-Imran, v. 14 This ayat speaks about what all of us like. Land, Wealth, Spouses, Children etc. Its always been the same since Adam's time. Its just that these things have taken many forms and names. Fi Amanallah
  2. Salaamz, RP, walaal I won't spend time arguing cause then things become personalized and we get off topic. But you disagree with me and Alhamdulillah I can agree to disagree with you and stop a conversation at that if its not bearing any fruits. Baashi, you said it very eloquently. I don't think that I have ever stated that its HARAM for a women not to work. Let me tell you how EVIL and WICKED this CAPITALIST society is. Say you want to buy a home and on avg. the home is $250,000 (in a large city, these are the cheapest homes) Well the mortgage for that after putting 5% down (min. down payment) is say $1300 a month. These are conservative estimates. $1300 Mortgage (Principal + Interest) $150 Insurance $200 Property Taxes $300 Hydro & Utilities $100 Car Insurance $300 Food $200 Loan on 5% down payment $100 Credit Card Payments ------ $2650 TOTAL (You would need to be making $50,000-$60,000 to maintain that BEFORE TAXES) These are very conservative estimates and u're not living in a luxuray home here. So what situation does this set u up for. A DUAL INCOME family. Meaning, its already assumed that the Husband and Wife both have JOBS and have to be working. If you want to buy a decent home, condo or rent out, the expenses are so HIGH in the Metro Cities i.e. Toronto, London etc. that you need BOTH COUPLES working FULL TIME. I was thinking of this a few days ago, cause they rarely approve mortgages based on one persons income (a doctor that makes $125,000 can only get a $400,000 home by himself, but with his spouse, they can get a decent $500,000+ home that fits their lifestyle (and these are not mansions either!) I was trying to figure out in my head about maintaining Mortgages and rents and how it can be done with a single income home (i.e the Husband working). Well, these Capitalists new that under the old family structure of having Single Income families, won't give people the CHANCE to PURCHASE homes. But if they told Families that they could buy HOMES with both parents INCOME, well then that would give people a CHANCE to BUY HOMES. Its so EVILLLLLL and Insidious that we can't even realize it. (Its like you're eating some Ice Cream and it tastes sooo good so u get more scopes and u go for some more tomorrow and the day after, all along enjoying it and not noticing that u have gained 10pounds and u can't sit properly anymore cause of the weight gain and now have developed HIGH CHOLESTROL-not good for the HEART) Cause what this has done, is FRAGMENT the picture of what FAMILIES are suppose to be and how they should be structured, and family values etc. Families become so INDEBTED with Bills and Mortgage Payments that they stop becoming FULL time Families cause everyone is too busy making money and worrying about bills. (You notice this in your own families, when u only eat with each other during Ramadan and the rest of the yr,everybody eats at diff. times of the day!) They have STOLEN what we VALUED and replaced it with a lovely platter of the DUNYA. Its soooo SATANIC but like all satanic things, you can't see the EVIL in them, but only see PLEASURE and GOODNESS. Homes are becoming more and more expansive now adays to either rent or buy and these Capitalists/Corporations are taking into account the Dual Income families as the MODEL FAMILY to sell homes too. They are building CONDOS now that are not catered to Families and Children, slowly replacing the concept of Families again and limiting them to one or two children per home in a CONDO. So when I am saying something walaalyal, its not because I'm trying to be MEAN or Degrading. I have experienced these things and work in these types of environments. Wa ma Towfiq ila bil Allah Fi Amanallah
  3. Salaamz, Y'all can twist people's words and CONVICT them as CRIMINALS. Read CAREFULLLLLYYYYY before you jump on the bandwagon of ACCUSATIONS!!!

Salaamz, A man walks up to you and says - "everything I say to you is a lie." Is he telling you the truth or is he lying? Its a LIE (I cheated on this one!) What state is surrounded by the most water? HAWAI What is: The beginning of eternity The end of time and space The beginning of every end, And the end of every place. Tip: You are looking at it right now A woman has 7 children, half of them are boys. How can this be possible?

Salaamz, A man walks up to you and says - "everything I say to you is a lie." Is he telling you the truth or is he lying? The man didn't say EVERYWORD, so he is telling the TRUTH. What state is surrounded by the most water? HAWAI
  6. Salaamz, Just wanna know how some of you nomads deal with Headaches as a result of the fasting in Ramadan and No, Advil won't do cause u can't take anything when fasting. I didn't believe that people did get this headaches untill I got it yesterday and its starting to rehash itself today. Fi Amanallah
  7. Salaamz Nice Poem, Mashallah!
  8. Salaamz, X-quizt, I think that you need a HUGGGG!!! You got sooo much anger in you. You need more Positive somali male role models cause the way you speak of Somali Men is very demeaning and insulting. I don't think that any man in his right mind would prefer to sit at home and have someone else play the role of the PROVIDER in the family. It brings SHAME to the man, when he does that. Give it time, inshallah you're views will change because you will experience alot more. Fi Amanallah
  9. 2.214 Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden (of bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? they encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah." Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near! Am hasibtum an tadkhuloo aljannata walamma yatikum mathalu allatheena khalaw min qablikum massathumu albasao waalddarrao wazulziloo hatta yaqoola alrrasoolu waallatheena amanoo maAAahu mata nasru Allahi ala inna nasra Allahi qareebun Salaamz, This is an ayat that I came across from the 2nd Juz. Please feel free to post ayats that stand out in your readings. You can go to www.equran.org to get a transliteration in English, to make it easier for you. Fi Amanallah
  10. 86. These are the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter: their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped. Sura Al-Baqrah Salaamz, Just an ayat that stood out from the first Juz, that I came across.

    Ramadan Kariim

RAMADAN KAREEM!!! ENJOY THIS MONTH INSHALLAH AND GO VISIT THE MASJID AND FAMILY & FRIENDS
  12. Salaamz, I'm interested in nowing how other nomads will be able to do it, inshallah. As for me, I carry a small pocket book musxaf/quran book, so its fits into my bads and coats. So we the goal of inshallah reading the JUZ before the end of the day, you're mind becomes focused on it, when ever there is free time. Usualy on the Public Transit or a after some salats. As long as you break it down, you don't feel TOO OVERBURDENED. For Ramadan, what you can also you do is maybe grab a quran book and read it with the Imam during Tarweeh. Follow with him as they read. or you can have your own tarweeh at home, since most people only pray 8, and try to do it yourself. The more you break it down, the easier it becomes, inshallah. There is a secret to this b/c then the Job of what the QURAN is about becomes part of you.
  13. Salaamz, HADITH: The prophet (salallahu claiyhe wasilma said): ILLUMINATE your homes with the recitation of the QURAN, for truly the home in which there has been much recitation of the Quran, has increased in GOODNESS and it SHINES to the inhabitants of Heaven as the stars of heaven shine to the inhabitants of the earth." The prophet (salallahu claiyhe wasilma said):" Tow people will stand in the mountain of musk on the Qiyama, They will have no fear and will render no accounts, they will be free of wants of men 1) He who recites the QURAN for the pleasure of GOD 2) He who becomes the leader of a people who remain satisfied with him You know an Idea come to mind cause I've been doing this for the past few months with a group of brothers. What we do every month is to try to try finish reading the QURAN at the end of each month. Meaning reading a JUZ A DAY. HOW CAN YOU DO THIS???? ITS A CHALLENGE!!! Where there is a WILL there is a WAY. I thought that it was tooo difficult to do it at first with work and family life. I just wouldn't have time. Why my recitation wasn't that fluent, so it would take me a long time. Not a month for sure! Well nomads, I'm living proof along with the rest of the Ummah that it can be done. Since its RAMADAN, I want to pose this CHALLENGE and see how many nomads can come through. FOR RAMADAN, TRY TO READ A JUZ A DAY INHOPES OF FINISHING THE QURAN BY THE END OF QURAN, INSHALLAH. ITS A CHALLENGE!!! ITS A DARE!!! WHO BENEFITS???? ALL THE PARTICIPANTSSSSS Just post that you read a juz when u can in this thread and maybe an ayat that stands out. You don't have to come on SOL everyday to say u read a JUZ, but it would help other nomads to BELIEVE that it can be DONE. READING THE QURAN and FINISHING IT FOR RAMADAN. ITS A CHALLENGE!!! Question? Well, what if I can't read the Arabic? Then grab an English version and read it. NO EXCUSES!!! CAUSE THAT'S ALL WE DO-MAKE EXCUSES!!! IF YOU BREAK THE READING DOWN DURING THE DAY INTO SECTIONS, IT CAN BE DONE! FOR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, IT CAN BE DONE!!! So No Excuses! ITS A CHALLENGE!!! So I'm calling out some people on here to DARE THEM. I'm calling out MUJAHID, NUR, DARMAN, RAXMAH. ENTER THE CHALLENGE and DARE SOMEONE WITH YOU If the niyah is write inshallah, and 2 people Finish reading the QURAN at the end of Ramadan, then the job was done or even if some you nomads started to read more QURAN. Fi Amanallah
  14. Salaamz, I have spoken to some nomads from SOL and they share my doubt about other nomads not being able to handle the CHALLENGE for RAMADAN. They don't think that you have the DETERMINATION to actually make it come true!!!!
  15. Baseerah in Arabic means a sense that enables people to see without their eyes. It is thru Baseerah that we Muslims and new reverts are able to see the beauty of our faith and Deen, but unfortunately an agnostic fails to see because her perception and sensing electronics do not function properly so she fails to see the obvious because she is sick. So agnostics instead of seeking help, tthey try to change reality to fit their lusts intsead of changing their lifestyle so that their perception can focus on reality to seek their maker and make peace with him. It is not only the logic that they fail to understand, rather, they lack a crucial glow of light in their hearts that is limiting their perception of facts they witness. The Quraan describes them as blind, dumb etc. Other instances, they are described as living dead, due to their lack of this sensory perception. Allah SWT says: " A fa man kaana meytan fa axyeynaahu wa jacalnaa lahu nuuran yamshii bihi finnaasi, kaman huwa fi dhulumaati leysa bi khaarijin minhaa?" " How about a person who was DEAD so we made him alive ( with guidance of Islam) and we provided for him light with which he walks among people, ( is he like) he who dewells in darkness knowing no way out?" You Mentioned Baseerah and Agnostics, agnostics instead of seeking help, tthey try to change reality to fit their lusts intsead of changing their lifestyle so that their perception can focus on reality to seek their maker and make peace with him. The wording here makes some Nomads think that this doesn't apply to them. Can Agnostics be MUSLIMS too? Can Baseerah be LEARNED or is it HIDYAT from ALLAH? Baseerah in Arabic means a sense that enables people to see without their eyes. Well then this has to do with IMAGINATION. and if this is the definition of Baseerah, then what is the Best form of DU'A if the Blind can't see what the Seeing See. Anyways I have said too much....
  16. FS>..good argument...So Khayr..are you saying that all the muslim doctors, lawyers, etc...who have contributed back to their respected muslim communities are not by definition, fitting the right career by the will of ALLAH? I dont get it????maybe I need some more explanations... by Raula It's b/c what I am saying has something to do what you have REAL PASSION for and believe in-YOUR LIFE, DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS! Life is the best of TEACHERS provided inshallah that you become CONCSCIOUS. Hadith: "In life you are a sleep, soon as you die, you are/become AWAKE" Have you ever looked in the mirror or taken a picture last yr. and compared yourself to another picture that you took last week? You are a Diff. Person right. I mean you would look diff. in those two pics Well Why? If you can pin point that out then why can't you look yourself in the mirror and see that you are not the person you were yesterday and that you are CHANGING in BODY AND SOULLLLLL as you get older. and that what you do everyday does have an AFFECT on you. 17. Salaamz I would like to say Alhamdulillah calaa kulyee shey. On the nonserious side of things, I would like to thank Nafta for coming up with this thread. I would like to thank SOL founders for helping me with my addictions. I don't use my credit cards anymore to view a website I would like to thank OG MOTI for standing up for MENS RIGHTS ON SOL! I would like to thank Hibo Nuro and Nin Yaabin b/c Dhaqaankeyna baa na xaasoseesan. Abayo eyo Hoyo, aad baa oo maxadhanedeen aka Hibo Nuro and Nin Yaabin (gotta work on the spelling!) I would like to thank Sophist and Farah, for Mentoring us with the composition of sentences worthy enough of the Cambridge and Oxford Professors and Alumni's. I would like to thank Underdog for those Jokes. How come u stopped man, what the well ran dry??? I would like to thank Ms. Word for her Poetry. You know I can show you the MONEY, so sign the fax and return it,so I can help you build that house full of dreams. I would like to thank Opinionated for bringing out the 'OTHER' side of me. I would like to thank African for starting the PIMING game on SOL. I want a cut too!!!! Lets talk. I would like to thank HornAfrique, Samurai Warrior and SmithnWest for copying and pasting sooo many articles and teaching some of nomads about Nomad Politics. I would like to thank Darman for his 'OFF the Wall' posts. This was before he Changed. Now, he Just LOVES everyone. I Would like to thank Nur for some of his informative posts. I would like to thank Clown, Mindstate, Shaka Zulu and "there' sister Twisted Ayeeyo. You have a great Imagination. (Multiple Personalities???) and I would like to thank Xabel eyo Xabelaayo.
  18. Is this the normal OPINIONATED??? Cause you actually sound polite and congenial for a change. 'Pitbull turned into Golden Retriever' for a minute there, Anything is Possible! I like the adviced that you gave. Lucky, People gain Weight during Ramadan and I have seen some gain an Incredible amount of weight.
  19. Salaamz, So you want to change, do you? Maybe improve in some areas that you are weak in. Maybe build on your team work Maybe improve in your interpersonal skills K, My question How many nomads can spare a few minutes a day of their time (divided up ofcourse through out the day) to complete this CHALLENGE for RAMADAN??? It just takes a few minutes a day thats the only CHALLENGE. So who has a few minutes to spare during their day in Ramadan to LEARN some new things that can be SELF-TAUGHT, but needs GROUP WORK/NOMADSSSS TO WORK EFFECTIVELY
  20. Salaamz, I see that some of you have fallen in love with the slogan 'ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF SOMALIA' Well, what are some of the nomads defininations of a REPUBLIC? I'm not reading Plato right now but have some any of you read it. What is a REPUBLIC?
  21. Salaamz, Are people CURIOUS just for the sake of CURIOSITY???? OR Inquiring cause of a yearning to know and participate. The real reason why I'm hesistant is cause I DON'T THINK that MOST NOMADS can REALLY DO THIS or WANT TO DO THIS cause it Will DEMAND SOMETHING of their TIME!!!!! Judging from my experience, most nomads don't want to participate in anything for longer then a week TOPS. What I want to suggest inshallah, will involve participation during the entire month of Ramadan and the participation on SOL in terms of posting, doesn't have to be everyday, but participating in this 'SUGGESTED ACTIVITY' will involve personal DAILY PARTICIPATION in our personal lives. If done properly, you might not come out the same person you were, inshallah and hopefully notice.....
  22. Salaamz, Before I tell you..... Just want to ask a question or two. Do you like communicating with other muslims? Do you like having to looking forward to the next day b/c something exciting is coming up? Do you enjoy experiencing new things? Depending on the level of interest.....
  23. Salaamz, You know I was talking to some older brothers about this once and one of them told me that you don't have to. I was shocked to here that a muslim husband doesn't have to ask one his wives permission to marry another wife. (I don't have an ayat or hadith or fatwa from a famous alim on stand by right now!!!) But as time went by, and I hear the ladies on SOL crying about the 'INJUSTICE'. Well, it starts to make sense to me cause if a man was to ask each of his wives or his only wife if he could marry another sister, well in most cases probably 90%, the women would say 'OHHH, HELL NA, WARYAA, YA EEMALAYINESA (WHO DO YOU THINK I AM)'. It will never make sense to the ladies b/c women are not driven by pragmatism (whats practical) but by emotion (this is what I heard Oprah and Hibo Nuro say )
  24. Salaamz, Its the way that westerners operate. They are Cold and distant people that love their precious 'Personal Space' and 'Individuality'. When I went to the middle east a few yrs back and had some friends want to hold hands with me when talking and crossing the street, my eyebrows lit up. But in the muslim world, its a sign of brotherly/sisterly affection. It was a shock to me cause I been in western lands for the majority of my life.
  25. The soundtrack to the movie was really wicked what else can u expect from the Wu Leader-RZA. The movie was Grimey but grimey and filled with pussing blood EVERYWHERE! No real moral to the story and the action series too damn-Hollywood! How does a Samurai Master suddenly come out of his attonment period as well as his retirement for the past 28yrs just to help out some American Blonde take out her revenge. Even Killers in the past had Moral and rules, but this two bit, heroin addict looking American Blondeeee, breaks all the rules just for her own damn self. Its too Americanized!!! Plus, they could have made this movie its appropriate 2 and half hrs to 3hrs but they cut it into half for the sake of Money. They said that audiences couldn't keep up with a 3hr long movie cause people have short attention spans. Tom Cruise is suppose to be starting in a movie calld the 'The Last Samurai warrior' coming this christmas season-I'll pass on that for sure! Finding NEMO was definitely the movie of the year/summer so far. Hey Bishaaro, you got a real good memory to remember that song. Fi Amanallah
