  1. Salaamz, Question to the Advocates of 'AIDS Education ala Condoms' Since drug usage is a prevalent thing in society, do u think that IF Somalis in Somaliland or Somalia were using drugs and needles were on the streets and people getting high, that a good idea for them would be to educate them by setting up clinics were they good get 'clean needles' and use drugs in a 'safe environment'. This is what is being proposed in North America and not too long ago in the 80's, they changed the 'Abstinance Song' to 'well if u gonna go out tonight son/daughter, make sure u carry a CONDOM with you and practice SAFE SEX. Best EDUCATION is called SOCIETY, thats were we do most of our learning through our ENVIRONMENT. So if u create an environment of 'AIDS is out there so here's a free condom for your protection', you gonna get people 'grinding' a whole lot more and ******* children popping up everywhere. Sometimes, I am shocked to find myself hearing and seeing somethings that come out of muslims mindssss!
  2. Salaamz, Just wanted to ask a question to the nomads here. What determines the value of something i.e What determines the value of an IDEA, OBJECT,a PERSON ETC.??? For example, if u have $100 and u are in the middle of the desert and have a hat with u, and u go to a village to ask for some water. Now, the sun is blazing in that village and the people hardly having any clothing and little water but they are willing to give u some water. So u tell them that u have $100 and they opt for the HAT. Well whats more valuable-$100 or the HAT? Why did the villagers take the HAT instead of the $100? I think that its b/c the HAT was more VALUED to them b/c of what could do or SHOULD DO. Which is protect a head from the blistering sunlight. Hence, the PURPOSE of the Hat. So coming back to my questions earlier, What determines Values in our lives??? Fi Amanallah
  3. Voices: Head scarf ban Alma Levy, 16, left, points to her 18-year old sister Lila's headscarf, as they give a news conference at the headquarters of the Movement Against Racism and for Friendship Between People, or MRAP, Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, in Paris. France is grappling with a possbile ban on all visible religious symbols in schools, including veils such as these. THE STAR.COM STAFF French President Jacques Chirac is shoring up France's secular traditions by calling for a ban on conspicuous religious symbols in public schools. This includes Islamic head scarves, Jewish skull caps and conspicuous, large Christian crosses. This is the opposite of the Canadian and British model of multiculturalism. What's your view? The ban on head scarves in public schools will only drive young women out of mainstream society in France. Some will be forced and others will choose to attend Islamic schools for this reason. Chris Dobson, Toronto, Dec. 19 If the boys were asked to wear head scarves to school as well as the girls, then the custom wouldn’t last a day. The point is the delineation of the genders in extreme ways has no place in modern French secular schools. Anne Mandlsohn, Toronto, Dec. 19 People should wear what they wish. Bill Desmond, Kincardine, Dec. 19 Right on, France. These people are supposed to be blending into society, not standing out against it. Kenneth Oldfield, Belgium, Dec. 19 Living in a secular society does not mean eliminating religious symbolism from clear sight. Will Nham, Toronto, Dec. 19 Religion should have nothing to do with politics or school, and by removing an obvious symbol of religion, many problems will subside. Justin Gallego, Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, Dec. 19 This proposed ban is a disgusting example of the religious persecution and xenophobia that is all too common and accepted in Europe. Terry Bigioni, Chicago, Dec. 19 I do believe that the French government is acting out of fear. The Muslim population in France grows daily, and the French’s veil of secularism is sewn of Christian fibre. Robin Macklin, Charlottesville, Dec. 19 It’s not what the people are wearing but how they act towards one another that determine the barriers often faced. Irma Francis, Brampton, Dec. 19 Because this law regards all religious wear equally, I fully support it. Limiting people’s ability to identify and judge others based on their religion can have a positive side. As a secular state, France has the right to do so and perhaps other nations should follow suit. If this is directed against all religions, then nobody should take it personally. Adam Uppal, St. Catharines, Dec. 19 It’s a head scarf, people! The women who wear them aren’t shoving their religion down anyone’s throat. Carrie Coady, Calgary, Dec. 19 All this foolishness will create a bunker mentality in religious minorities that feel that they can’t get a fair shake. Kenneth Chisholm, London, Ont., Dec. 19 I salute Chirac in his attempt to homogenize French society and instil a sense of "Frenchness" in all the citizens of France regardless of race, creed or religion. Gareth Ridout, Boca Raton, Dec. 19 A woman wearing a scarf has to do with her private life and has nothing to do with politics or public life. Therefore imposing such law in the guise of the defence of secularism is nothing more than a way to attack Islam even in the public sphere. Kashif Hassan, Brampton, Dec. 19 In order to promote tolerance of religious differences, we need to celebrate diversity, not hide it. Setu Finne, ontario, Dec. 19 In Canada (Quebec) we have a "language police" and "cultural police" that work to support French Canadian culture by ensuring that all signs are in French and that all the margarine is the correct colour. Like Quebec, France is just running scared. Don Wray, Mississauga, Dec. 18 Canada should adopt the same attitude. The Christian community has been required to forego the Lord's Prayer and any mention of traditional Christmas/Easter celebrations [because they] have been deemed politically incorrect. Religious symbolism for other groups should be disallowed as well. Freda Stewart, Calgary, Dec. 18 What next? We should be accomodating our differences as well as our similiarities. Marie Reynolds, Toronto, Dec. 18 This move is necessary to protect women's rights [in France.] Under the cloak of religous freedom, Muslim extremists in France have intimidated women into wearing the Hijab, and prevented them from participating in the same opportunities that men have. David Markun, San Francisco, Dec. 18 What is so threating about wearing a Hijab and identifying yourself as a Muslim? A person should have a basic right to practice their religion which includes the Islamic dress code. Arica Mukri, Toronto, Dec. 18 I grew up in a mainly Muslim society. I find scarves are a manifestation of male dominance over females. I don't believe for a moment it is a religious requirement. It is very much a cultural marker. Not all muslim women wear the headscarves. Does this mean that their belief in God is more or less than those that wear them? I doubt that. In a secular society where there is a clear separation between Church and State, religious manifestations of any kind should be confined to places of worship and one's own private quarters. Christopher Assad, Ottawa, Dec. 18 This is outrageous. And contradictory. How do you advocate freedom for women to choose whether they want to wear the hijab and then ban the wearing of it. Mubin Shaikh, Toronto, Dec. 18 I fully agree. Religious diiferences are causing too many problems around the world. Less conspicious symbols will engender more unity among peoples. It is up to host countries to set standards that encourage assimilation. Willard Malcolm, Toronto, Dec. 18 A soverign country saying : "Those who come to this Country must adapt to its Culture". What a refreshing idea. Gerry Bourgeois, Toronto, Dec. 18 It's about time! Let us get religion out of our social lives. It has already done enough harm dividing people. School is not the right place to show our separateness. I applaud their decision. Ruhi Tuzlak, Toronto , Dec. 18 I think it is rather sad that the President of France supports such a measure. The so called "secular" clothing is very "Christian" way of dressing. The "secular" clothing of France has got its roots from the culture of France over the centuries that is fundamentally a Christian culture. Manu Dev, Ottawa, Dec. 18 I don't see how separation of church and state is served by the separation of people from their cultural symbols. France's reinforced secularism comes at the expense of two other pillars of personal feedom, namely freedom of expression and freedom of association. Robert Turnbull, Chicago, Dec. 18 I have always agreed with the U.S. melting pot. Multicultural differences divide us too much. People who come to Canada from foreign lands have concentrated on maintaining their norms and customs without trying to assimilate into this country's culture. There is the old saying, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." Otherwise why bother to leave your birth country in the first place? Pat Daly, Toronto, Dec. 18 I can understand the reason behind the ban on wearing religious apparel or symbols in school. By no means do I agree with it. If a person's religion requires the wearing of certain garments or other accessories, then that person must be allowed to wear it, so long as the safety of others is not at issue. Toby Cox, Toronto, Dec. 18 It's about time a leader had the courage of his convictions. Like sex, one's [religious] choice should be behind closed doors. If you leave your place of birth, you adopt the laws and ways of your new home. Wayne Colegate, Toronto, Dec. 18 Religion should be kept in the home. President Chirac's ban should be hailed rather than condemned. If it is forbidden by a religous law to not wear a head scarf or skull cap, then perhaps people should re-evaluate the country they chose to emmigrate to and consider returning to their homeland. Kamla Persaud, Toronto, Dec. 18 If we can not tolarate multiculturalism, can we claim to be democrate in principle? What a shame in this 'cultured' socity! Masud Ali, Toronto, Dec. 18 ANYONE SUPRISED BY THE REACTIONS/COMMENTS??? [ May 28, 2010, 06:05 PM: Message edited by: Libaax-Sankataabte ]
  4. Salaamz, Ok so the Saudi's do some terrible things and often concentrate on the 'hudud/punishments' side of the Shariah. Banning these female dolls and toy bears might sound 'a bit harsh' to us but inshallah if the intention is to perserve souls and the islamic culture there, then is it WRONG? Also, if they are not a great government and participate in harm activities, does that negate/stop them from banning what might be deemed as 'harmful' to their society? Its like saying, they sin, so why should they ban things. They might as well open the gateways WIDE OPEN and accept EVERYTHING. Fi Amanallah
  5. Doesn't this post belong in the 'JOKES' section. We already seen one 'WACKO MICHAEL' use Islam to help him out with the courts. Now, the rumor is that the biggest 'WACKO JACKO' is trying out the 'Black Movement' thing when all long he wanted to be everything but BLACK . PPPPPLEASE!
  6. I laughed and almost rolled out my chair to the ground and this was at work. All the time hoping that no one would notice and ask what I was laughing about.
  7. Salaamz, " CAT scans take the idea of conventional X-ray imaging to a new level. Instead of finding the outline of bones and organs, a CAT scan machine forms a full three-dimensional computer model of a patient's insides. Doctors can even examine the body one narrow slice at a time to pinpoint specific areas." For an illustrated example, follow this link http://www.colorado.edu/physics/2000/tomography/ and if you were wondering about MRI's The Basic Idea If you have ever seen an MRI machine, you know that the basic design used in most is a giant cube. The cube in a typical system might be 7 feet tall by 7 feet wide by 10 feet long (2 m by 2 m by 3 m), although new models are rapidly shrinking. There is a horizontal tube running through the magnet from front to back. This tube is known as the bore of the magnet. The patient, lying on his or her back, slides into the bore on a special table. Whether or not the patient goes in head first or feet first, as well as how far in the magnet they will go, is determined by the type of exam to be performed. MRI scanners vary in size and shape, and newer models have some degree of openness around the sides, but the basic design is the same. Once the body part to be scanned is in the exact center or isocenter of the magnetic field, the scan can begin. In conjunction with radio wave pulses of energy, the MRI scanner can pick out a very small point inside the patient's body and ask it, essentially, "What type of tissue are you?" The point might be a cube that is half a millimeter on each side. The MRI system goes through the patient's body point by point, building up a 2-D or 3-D map of tissue types. It then integrates all of this information together to create 2-D images or 3-D models. MRI provides an unparalleled view inside the human body. The level of detail we can see is extraordinary compared with any other imaging modality. MRI is the method of choice for the diagnosis of many types of injuries and conditions because of the incredible ability to tailor the exam to the particular medical question being asked. By changing exam parameters, the MRI system can cause tissues in the body to take on different appearances. This is very helpful to the radiologist (who reads the MRI) in determining if something seen is normal or not. We know that when we do "A," normal tissue will look like "B" -- if it doesn't, there might be an abnormality. MRI systems can also image flowing blood in virtually any part of the body. This allows us to perform studies that show the arterial system in the body, but not the tissue around it. In many cases, the MRI system can do this without a contrast injection, which is required in vascular radiology. Here is the link http://health.howstuffworks.com/mri1.htm Did you know that to get Cat Scans and MRI's, you have to wait for months b/c they cost so much. Unless you are a professional or collegiate athelete, then you get them right away. I'm in need of one real badly b/c of my left knee but have been giving the run around for months and just ordinary x-rays that don't show anything about 'Tissues and Cartildge' but just show BONE.

  9. Salaamz, Yes the Church is corrupt and yes they should be worshiping God not men. Now what makes Lauryn Hill such a saintly soul that she has a mandate to question her HOSTS and to question the faith of people? Its like coming to a CHURCH, a place were GOD is being remembered and worshipped and saying that the 'Priest is corrupt' during the sermon. You're not shedding light on the problem but rather hampering people's faith by putting doubts in their minds and what follows doubts in usually Disblief. Now you quoted one ayat, but say we follow your line of thinking on that ayat, inshallah. Mostly, we would have to negate other ayats that are in suras like Al-Ma'idah that speak about the Ahl-Al-Kitab and eating meat from them and marriage among them etc. because if you are saying that the Ahl-Al-kitab are all Mushkreen, then why would some of these things be permissable with them. (Now I must say that there are conditions to everything under which something must be permissible, so please nomads, don't go jump for joy and start eating at KFC's or BK's or getting married to your high school crush) Now going by the definition that Conscious M., is getting at, if the Ahl-Al-Kitab are Mushrikeen/Kuffar, then how come the rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) allowed them to live in Madinah during his time and offered them protection as long as they honored the islamic state and payed Jaziyah (a tax that Ahl-Al Kitabiyyes have to pay). Inshallah, I'm arguing against what Lauryn Hill did, her ACTIONS and not necassirly her WORDS. There is a time and place for everything. Unfortunately, Yankees are too arrogant to respect that, so they do and say what they 'feel like'whenever they want to. Fi Amanallah
  10. Salaamz, Geedid and to others that might have similiar thoughts that he is having-STOP! Smell the pollution around you and wake up to the reality that you live in. Patterns that occur in one community are ayats from Allah. As Allah says in the quran that He replaces a people by another people. Inshallah, muslims should pay attention to what happens to other religious communities b/c the world is for SECULARISM (against the Rule of Religion/Revelation/The Word of GOD). Now ask yourself, why is this? Fi Amanallah
  11. Salaamz Jawahiir said if they take her advice, they would probably try to find the true religion, ie Islam. I don't know about you but the people that I have met that complained about any religion including the catholic church, weren't exactly too fond of accepting another religion. So I disagree with you, people will not be exiting one religion to enter another religion. A minority of people might, but the majority of people become Kuffar. Its very dreamy and naive of Muslims to think that by 'Disproving' the validity of a religion, that people will come to know the 'truth' and rush on over to ISLAM. Its the 21st century and the popular WORLD RELIGION today is called MODERNITY & LIBERALISM and there lord is the MIGHTY BUCK. Religion is only practiced by most people when it is convenient and on a part time basis. And wait people who believe in the Catholic church are not outright Kafirs They are Ahl-Al-kitab/People of the Book and are not kuffars. why in Allahs name would you like the thousands who believe in the Catholic church to go on with such a corrupt irrational religion! You don't have to agree their religion or beliefs but its the Hikmah of Allah that they do exist and that Allah sent a prophet for them.
  12. Salaamz, I read it this briefly this morning. My question, what would lead the catholic church to invite this WACKO otherwise known as 'Lauryn Hill'. She was in an insane asylum not too long ago and she is soooo high on her self-rightousness. She was very disrespectful to the church and should get (fill in the blank) for her comments. What benefit would her comments make anyways but to make catholic people turn away from God and the Church and to what???? Mostly likely the majority would become outright Kafirs then, as this is the case with most people who have have found a problem with their religion. Lauryn Hill needs to get (fill in the blank) for making such insulting comments. There is a time and place for everything and a mannerism to get your points clear. ****** yankees have no respect for any of this or anybody but themselves and Lauryn Hill is nothing more than an 'ARROGANT YANKEE'. Fi Amanallah
  13. Jaka Allah Walaal for that piece about Istikharah.
  14. SNW,I agree with you. Never really saw it from that point of view, but you might be right. You know WAR IS DECEPTION and LYING and CHEATING are part of war and are Halal for Muslims during WAR. So I can't fathom why any muslim would rejoice at this 'MAN HUNT', prized 'American Guniea Pig'. Do you know what the Yankees do when they catch a Muslim? 1. Shave his beard of right away to humiliate them and cause the beard is a definite sign that ties the muslim to the Sunnah and distinguishes them from the Kufar. When they got him yesterday, thats exactly what they did. Not to see who he was, but to Humiliate him. Not b/c he is who he is, but b/c he is a Muslim. They could have given him a haircut too, but that wasn't important. In anycase, this incident is HUMULIATING for MUSLIMS and especially ARABS. What gives any secular government the right to kill people and dethrone their leaders??? And at the same time, deny the people of the country what they want??? Reporters once asked Rumsfield if the Iraqi people chose an Islamic Government instead of a Secular Democracy. After all if its a Democracy that the Americans are for, what if the Iraqi people voice that they want Islam instead of a Secular Democracy. Rumsfield's answer was 'No, we will not let that Happen' The sheer ARROGANCE of these Yankees. To dictate to Muslims what who they can have as a leader and who they can't. You know, they never treated that Muslim Murderer 'Milokavich' from Serbia. He's in Jail now, trying to get re-elect as president. Those American lead African leaders who rape their countries are never treated like this. Instead, they are sent millions if not billions of dollars in military aid by the Americans to keep them in power. So pppplease, spare me that talk of 'well he was a tyrant to his people'. I don't think that muslims should go to nonmuslims and say that capturing Saddam, is a good thing for iraqi's and the world in general. He was a tyrant 13yrs ago, or when he was bombing the hell out of his neighbours in IRAN. But there was no real need for him to be 'dethroned' then, so what's changed today?
  15. And since you're independant and self-sufficient I'll save my services for a woman who needs it and can appreciate a man that will take care of her. I'm looking for a woman I can provide for and protect. Someone who completes my skills not competes with them. By Underdog Hey, Underdog, there are plenty of women like that around. There just in their 30's or single mothers. But if you want younger then 30s and no single mothers, then get your ticket and head over to Somalia/Somaliland or Kenya where you will get run down by the ladies and really feel like a 'KING'. Hibo, take a different approach to brothers and maybe act more docile (gentlier). You don't have to try to convince every man about 'women's issues'. We are men after all! If you need some real romantic men, head over to Burco or aerghaboo. They don't know much about 'Women's rights' but they sure will know about a 'Women's heart' and how to steal it!!!
  16. kkkkkkkk And here I was trying to see if I can get a link to the viewing of this new 'Hot Video'.
  17. I agree and disagree with some of the authors view. When I have time to write properly, I'll add my 3 cents.
  18. By ARIANE BERNARD Published: December 11, 2003 PARIS, Dec. 10 — The police shut down a day care center and a kindergarten last week that were being run by Islamic militants, Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy told the National Assembly on Wednesday. Mr. Sarkozy said the centers, in two southern Paris suburbs, were of "Salafist inspiration." Salafist is a term used by some Islamic militants to describe their movement. The kindergarten and the day care center, which were attended by 42 children, were closed Dec. 2 after the local prefect received information from intelligence agencies that they were being run by Islamic groups. The prefect, Michel Delpuech, said the heads of the associations running the centers "are known to the police for their links with radical Islamic groups." "One of the two people was actually convicted for an offense involving an Islamic group," he said. The centers were shut down when the groups, which are officially registered as nonprofit associations for after-school activities, failed to meet various health codes and administrative standards, officials said. The kindergarten was run out of a former store in the Antony suburb. The curriculum for its 16 children, aged 3 to 5 years, involved daily prayer and religious education. The day care center operated out of an apartment in a subsidized housing project in Fontenay-aux-Roses. The establishments themselves were not registered. "When the police came to close down the two centers, they saw a 3-year-old little girl who was wearing a veil," Mr. Delpuech said. In recent months, the French government has looked at the possibility of passing a law that would bar girls from wearing head scarves in public schools in an effort to maintain France's tradition of secularism. "What we had there were people who were openly proclaiming their faiths and their desire to teach it to their children," Mr. Delpuech said. "We found many teaching items at the centers that marked a strong link to Islam. This is not, of course, a crime in any way, but the state must make sure that establishments that welcome children are safe and healthy. I had an obligation to close down these schools." Because the centers were closed for administrative reasons, the heads of the associations risk only minor fines. Officials said the police investigation was not yet complete, and prosecutors had not decided whether to press charges. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/12/11/i...l?ex=1071723600
  19. Carmel Kisses, Macaanti, I thought that you were part of my starters, # 3 to be exact. Whats this that I am hearing that while I've been working hard for your rotation next month (Collecting roses and perfumes for you!), that you've been falling for a 'PopStar'. Talloye, xaabayeen dhambey, waan eemaqledoonta and you'll forget all about him. Anyways, If a man's phone is always ringing, he got chicks calling him up and he is definitely a player. Carmel kisses, dhoqaa wa kaan and I can blow some sweet harmony in your ears! I'll ignore all those rings on my phone for you. So leave him and come back to you hubby! After all, were just newly weds
  20. Here is a link that can clarify some things about asharis and salafis. http://www.geocities.com/~abdulwahid/muslimarticles/ashari.html The majority of Ulema from the Sunni madhabs follow the Ashari Aqeeda.
  21. Salaamz, I think that it is a BLESSING IN DISGUISE, if they banned the Hijab at their Public Schools. Why? Cause then Muslims in France would wake up to the Reality that they are Muslims and not FRENCH and that they are in a nonmuslim land. So to preserve their deen, they need to segregate and not INTEGRATE. Oppression is good for muslims cause it UNITES THEM and makes them RE-DISCOVER THEIR ISLAM.
  22. Mabruk walaal! Its always good news to hear that a nomad is contributing to their people by building stable family units through marriages. Funny, how people's responses reflect their xaal and what position that they are currently in. Fi Amanallah

I am not alien to islam and I still think this mahram Idea is a buncha crock by Opinionated aka the DEFENDANT Who is no being represented by ATHENA ( Articling Student who is taking on a case that just might be too big for her to handle!) I don't think that the other sisters said anything remotely near to what the DEFENDANT aka "OPINIONATED" has stated. The other sisters that ATHENA, Articling Student, has mentioned stated hadiths and view points from the ulema but they never called the concept of Mahram a "Buncha Crock". Now Athena if the phrase "Buncha Crock" sounds Positive to you, please share with us some ways that it can be used POSITVELY, besides the example that your "CLIENT" has given. Fi Amanallah
