Guess what, Somalis don't have BBC or CNN, so the only satellite channels are in Arabic or Somali, and from the old to young, none need a translator. I don't know if any of you are familiar with school system in Somalia but majority are taught in Arabic. From geography to bio, the english ones are a new phenomona.

Latin script is only easier to read if your a Somali in the diaspora. When I went back to Somalia, I've found that a lot of people find it hard to read the latin script. Arabic is universal for all Somalis, whether your 4 or 90, you'll be reading the Quran. Anyways, the oldest Somali to be written are in Arabic, by Yusuf Kawnayn if I'm not mistaken. Somalis are basically made up of different people that merged to form an identity. The northern identity from Saylac to Ras Casayr moved south right after the acceptance of Islam, and they settled in Marka and Xamar, others went as far west as Qalafo. At this moment they've developed a clan culture. The southern identity between the rivers accepted Islam about the same time, but a diluted clan culture reached them, so they're incorporated a lot of groups. By the 11th century Somali identity is fully created, groups were still being incorporated but Somalis were one, the 'dark berber'. In the peninsula at this time the non-muslims left were called gaalo so they were enslaved like the oromo. So Somalis don't share anything except Islam.

Somalis have been killing, raping and maiming each other over clans for over two decades. Now some 'Ethiopian' (its actually a kurd kid) gets a beating, then its Arabs this and that. What about the millions that have passed away due to the civil war and the drought subsequent to it. Anyways Arabic is the language of the Quran, Imam Shafici went as far as saying its fard to learn it, but Imam Hanafi said its not fard, which I follow in them terms. Arabic is a great and rich language, which our ancestors have loved, Somalis are basically considered Arabs. Somalis have filled universities in the Arab world for the past millenia that we had our own dorm rooms.

My family went back to kismayo while it was under shabab, they visited the farms by the Juba river. And the farmers were from our j.weyn brothers, and they said they were happy and living an ok life. This was before the drought. Would this be the same under a UN backed government, no, because Somalis don't know justice.
