^ I'm lovin' it. I bet $1 million that Northerner calls me pro-Afweyne not that I supported the former military junta but only because I hail from particual clan that have tribal affiliation with formal leader of Somalia! Noh? My immediate family suffered under Siyad Barre tyranny. But from the secessionist perspective, that’s irrelevant! It’s all about clan-politics and as long as you hail from a particular clan, you are guilty by association. It’s all about tribalism. Look at his reaction.

^Dow dow maxaa ii keentay, Pink_P is right May 18th commemoration is nothing but jingoism at its highest point where clannish pride is displayed and the birth of an “imagined" republic is celebrated. Amy, I only work 4-days a week. I don’t work Fridays. Rahima, all political junkies in politics section should admire my courage . I’ve become an open-minded fella . And in the spirit of capitalism, I’m gonna make money in the upcoming clannish festivities (duped as “national†day) by providing much needed services. Just think of what virtual flag waving in the cyber world can do for the likes of Lander and co. Ayoub, don’t even go there sxb . It’s fair game I suppose to remind u Inna Keenadiid’s well known poem composed for the likes of Yawle. Cabiidsigu siduu u yimid ##### weys calaqayeene, Kuwii coodka noo raaci jiraa, caaran waayahane, Annageyba cey nagu hayaan, cidaha qaarkoode,

Taking off...

^^^ Bit jumpy and emotional as always. And who was talking to Lander...any1? I wasn't Must be the spokesman of durriyada eh! Now we can't even converse with our beloved SOL family members eh! Even in cyber forum you are so tensed up you are this close to censor other independent nomads!!! Oh well, as they say in America...never mind. I thought we are big family here SOL kidos. What's up with this discrimination This is tough love sxb We call spade a spade...nothing more. Dear Amy, Kismayo cadeey is a lovely place so is Boorame and they all are Somali cities. No ain't creating divide here but you are. Positive is my middle name runtii...believe u me I'm all for progress but I'm not for secession. That's all! The challange for the narrow-minded folks is to differentiate anti-secessionism as a principle and negative jibes.
-
No that's not waht I'm telling you qallanjo. Peace, progress, and constitution is something to celebrate for but just because Britain colonized part of our Somali land illegaly is not a good differentiator and not something to celebrate for...that's what i'm telling you. Don't get all worked up now young lady There are mujaahadiin who put their neck on the line when Boorame was defending the regime so let the so-called warriors explain the flag-waving phenomenon.

^I hear u shez. Checkmate u r snake in the grass buddy. It was xaraka xaraka laa baraka Not other way around.

That's all good but u can do that without seceding . Don't u agree?

Happy Independence day reer Waqooyi aka Somalilanders. My company will be there selling flags in all sizes and shapes. We will also be giving out freebies like paint (all three colors) to give the more passionate jubilant youths the option of painting the flag on their forehead as a token of gratitude for the fallen comrades who sacrificed their precious lives for the good of the durriyada (don’t know what Boorame folks are celebrating for...must be Riyaale’s ascendancy). Remember y’all that song and if you don’t know the lyrics just lip sing with the blasting amplifiers......aan maalno hasheena maandeeqe milking she-camel exclusively is doable dream and as Tolstoy and Mr. Oodweyne will tell you Mr. Reeve, Lewis, score of in-laws among them instructor Iqbal, British MPs, that Humanitarian lady turned blogger are all making unimpeachable case for the secession and with AU in town this week you are the top of the world fellaz . Jingoism, Chauvinism, and clannish pride (disguised as patriotism) at display!

Qallanjo I like that attitude wallahi. We gotta talk friend and I have an offer you can't refuse. I like sharp people who have some sort of ambition in their blood. More power to shez. Remember though sis that most start ups end up failing. The reason being folks got excited and they rush to the venture with out robust plan. The other thing is that failure is part of the game. Actually is not failure let me rephrase that and say it's a bump on the road that teaches u a lesson. In any rate, I understand what you are saying here. One of these days is just phrasal click folks say in order to emphasize the thing will happen sooner or later! Yeah I got some cool ideas that, if acted upon, have a potential. Do ur thing shez and who knows if urs take off SOLers might seek employement from ur venture. Btw, ever heard this Linkedin networking site? Well u may wanna take look at it...it is really very useful for ambitious, business-minded like you.

Double post! plz delete this one!

Why? cuz women haven't been liberated "fully" yet! That's where u and other enlightened liberal girls come in. You should change this double standard at once! Only u educated fellaz who can speak and write English fluently can understand this macho bias. Now folks should call spade a spade and refer these cool homeboyz/girlz "sexually active". Equall treatment without gender bais right! Halima, abaayo Zaani is Zaani period regardless gender status. No one calls womanizer a hero! The only folks who admire them are them chicks whom get played by these casanovas. In any rate, you shouldn't overly concerned of who gets called what. Btw, wlc to SOL

I stand corrected. Many thanks Saabir. We're all trying to help Ms. Jasmine. I'm sure she is familiar with this subject. All she wants is what does the term mean in Somali. Now we al least agree this much: Gland is qanjir/qanjidh in Somali. Thyroid is a gland and hence Thyroid is a qanjir/qanjidh. I think that helps. I for one don't know one Somali term that can be used to translate thyroid. The one I provided as Saabir correctly pointed out is for parotid (I'm not even sure that's the right one). This brings home the difficult and inadequecies Somali language has when it comes to the especialized higly developed areas in Science and Legal professions. Jasmine if I were u I would heed the advice bro Brown has given u when he said that use the term qanjir/qanjidh and add brief explanation of what it does in terms of functionality. That will do it for u. Sue, I'm nit sure if I agree with u on fiix. I know there is this word feex that is used for some sort of ka soo bax that is permanent. the feex and buro are two different things lest u confuse the two. Not to mention bararka or badhadhka or the enlargement glands are known to experience in their ubnormal or if u will sick state.

Jasmine, thyroid = qaamo thyroid problem = qanjir barar (Northern Somalia) or qaamo qashiir (Southern Somalia). The description I just gave u in Somali is the one associated with the thyroid gland (qanjir). I could be wrong though. Hope someone in this forum give you the formal translation of this medical term. Good luck.

Impressive pics! Many thanks Rahima. Could u plz tell us, if u would, about the real estate market in Xamar cadde? What is the prize of a typical house?

Read what Ex-Prime Minister of Malasia Dr. Mahathir Mohamad had to say about different sects within Islam. Very interesting read, I thought... Islam the Misunderstood Religion 4/29/2005 - Social Religious - Article Ref: IC0504-2682 Number of comments: 49 By: Dr. Mahathir Mohamad IslamiCity* - As salaam alykum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu Dear Brothers and Sisters I would like to congratulate the organizers on the 10th Anniversary of IslamiCity for their effort. I would like to thank them for this opportunity to speak to my brothers and sisters in America. A few years back I spoke to a small audience of Muslims and non-Muslims in Oxford University regarding Islam and how it is misunderstood not only by non-Muslims, who think of it as an oppressive religion but also by the Muslim who claims it is the greatest religion which would save mankind but have not saved it. We can easily explain why the non-Muslims misunderstand Islam. But why did I say that the Muslims also misunderstand Islam. The basis for stating this is simple. We all know Muhammad the Prophet brought only one Islam, just one. But today we have all kinds of beliefs which claim to be the Islamic faith but the beliefs are so different and so inconsistent with each other that each condemn the others as not being Islam or Islamic, condemn to the point of labeling them as apostates against whom they are willing to fight and to kill. For example we are seeing today Sunni Muslims fighting and killing Shiite Muslims every day, each claiming the other is not Muslim. There were no Sunni or Shiite during the time of the Prophet . GMTY fellaz, Oh man! business is on my mind nowadays! Look how this Russian born student and his college buddy made it to the top...ONLY in America! Defining Google MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 2, 2005 Has there ever been a brand name like Google? Non-existent six years ago, it’s now a part of the global language, as in, “I Googled this,†or “I Googled that,†or “I Googled you.†To Google, a verb, is to get an instant answer by using the company's super-computer to look up anything on the Internet. What began as a school project is now worth about as much as Ford and General Motors combined, thanks to a stock that has roughly doubled in price since the company went public last August. And for the first time since then, Google has opened its doors, to let "60 Minutes" Google them. Lesley Stahl reports. Read on...
