  1. Xiin, don't put me on the hot seat buddy. Aight, I don't know. See what you have done
  2. Basically this is another term for laziness, right? If you have a problem of not getting off your behind to do something, aren't you a lazzy? No? Easy now.
  3. The problem is real. We are all concerned and many of us, the ones who care about their community, are struggling to find a way to cope with this problem. One of the mindbogling thing about Somali predicament in qurboland is the very parent (some) who supposed to handle the drug problem are themselves addicts. Basically some parents are qaat-chewers and the some kids are hashiish addicts. If I have to guess the odds are that there are correlation bewteen qaat-eaters and kids who turnout to be hashiish addicts. It is no brainer for if the parent (father) is out doing xamaali and when he gets home uu jilbaha laabanaayo then the kids will (a) think it is okay to get high and the method one uses to get that state is not important and (b)they will get too much leeway of doing anything they so desire. Too much TV (more than 2 hours in some cases) and incidently the message they got from TV is being tough, and harsh on women, violence, namecalling, streetsmart, drug use, and what not is cool and the way to go. Do that and all the chicks will be urs and u are the man of the moment...from there is downslide free fall. I know I'm rambling here bear with me...and other point is the fact that we are basically new comers to the west. While there are many other immigrant communities that excelled in this country, there is one thing that separate us from these other newcomer communities and that is: we are refugees not immigrants! There is distinction and that is immigrants especially economic immigrants, as often is the case, are the cream of the crop. That is not the case with refugees. They are cross-section of the country they fled from. The thief, the elite, the rich, the illiterate, the criminals, the afmiinshaar, and what not are what's made up of the refugees. And this fact reflects on their success and failure and how well they do in their new country. Well Somalis in here are refugees and many of them don't have formal education. Language barrier especially older folks is a problem in itself. This has a huge consequence on parenting. For kids become the conduit in which parents communicate to the outside wolrd. From mail to telephone calls and all other forms of communication are handled by the kids. How a parent who can't communicate to the law enforcement, educators, and other authority figures can deal with kids who do all the talking for them? Excuse the run on sentences...the post is unedited and I don't have time to proof read it now but I hope u got my point there.
  4. Why do Somali dumar like white guys? Who said they do? or are we making assumptions here? And even if some or few do like them white guys why should you care? Sometimes Solers' sweeping generalizations makes me wonder. Now the drama queens and their case iska waal...what's that all about if I may ask? Somali men this and Somali man that as if they are experts on the ins and outs of how Somali men live thier lives. How many of them have you dated? How many of them have you know up and close? I wouldn't be surprised if someone tells me that the loud ones who made a habit to badmouth an entire ethnic men go out with the very folks they diss on the cyber screen day in and day out. That is quite possible. Falaado iyo farobaxsi badanaa Waxaanba joognaa gacan ku gabad .
  5. Doesn't this article speak for the resilience of the Somali people? It really does.
  6. This for all the dilly dallies out there. Wanna find the truth about this infliction?...aight listen. Not sure? aight take a quiz to find out. So how did u do? Me...yeah it says I'm the dilly dally type (borderline) but I doubt it. I perform well under pressure especially when the deadlines are around the corner.
  7. Adduunyo. I knew in aad wiil hoog xiniinyo cadde ah tahay. What you don't realize is the fact that you have stooped to an all time low. Thus my ayaan daro comment. Awoowe Inna Mohamed Abdulle Hassan baa nin ay afka ka diriri jireen gabay markaa inna Abdulla Hassan ay la ahayd innuu ninkii raggi ah ee yaqaan hadalka xubnihiisa oo dee garnaqsan kara oo kolka laga gar helo karti iyo dadnimo uu isku celiyo leh u tiriyay. Ninkii waxaan markaa nin weyn qaban buu la soo shir tagay. Waxa laga hayaa inna Abdulle Hassan oraahdii caanka ahayd ee: Nimanyahow ileyn af laba daan leh baan hadalka deynayn Dulucda waa qofku marka uu qof weyn yahay waa in uu kala garan karaa sax iyo qalad waana inuusan wax walba ku hadlin. Waa in uusan siduu doona yeelin amaba waxuu doona ku hadlin. Hadalo qadaf ah baa jira awoowe. Addiguna kuma qabtaan dadka la dulmiyayna kaama qabato. Allow ma kula taliyay.
  8. Kix kix kix did I hear he did it first excuse line. Juma that's how kids reason. It goes like this 'I did this cuz he/she did it first'. This one is priceless wallahi According to his last post, Juma's thought process goes like this: He called my kinfolk's militia animals. He did that first. No one said anything. Well I couldn't take it aryaa ficilo aa i qaadey. So I wanted everyone to know that my heroes USC are not animals. To prove that they are human, I listed their acheivements: 1. USC militia gun-weilding boys are brave boys because they killed and maimed the spineless civilians from particular clans that had clan-affiliation with the late Barre. 2. They looted their neighbors, took their maacuun, alaabo, jiingado and drove them out of their dwellings because they belonged to the "other" clans. Look at them kids and women in refugee camps now...we did it. 3. They raped repeatedly young virgins who lived in the neighborhood because they shared great great grandfather with Inna Barre. ---- Now ain't that something. Nin ragga awoowe iska dhici the "others".
  9. Caaqil, Su'aasha qoraalka aad summada uga dhigtay jawaabteedu waa MAYA lama cuskado lamana cuskan karo xaniinyo kaneeco saa maba lehe. Laakiin waxaad iiga dhacdaa oo iga weydiin ah dadka iyaggu u istaagay in ay wax ka qabtaan gudniinka fircooniga ah maxay bi'iyeen? Si kale hadaan u dhigo weydiintaa: ma ololaha ka dhanka ah gudniinka fircooniga ah baa dhib u aragtaa mise kuwa ku qaraabta ama sida loo maamulo ama cidda caawisa yaad si u diidan tahay? Waxaan qabaa hawsha "ihraabka" la xiriirta iyo kuwa farta ku goda waa hawl siyaasad si xun loo fahmay salka ku haysa. Arrin ugub ah ma aha. Dadku sidoodaba hadaanay qadiyad lahayn amaba mabda' celiya weysaga bareeraan wax walba oo ay is yiraahdaan waad kaga guulaysaneeysaa kooxda ay markaa is hayaan. Taa waa kula qabaa. Is arag wacan awoowe.
  10. ^ I beg to differ and say this is as good as it gets for the young guns trying to fit in a place where "trying new stuff", "experimenting", "partying", and "having fun" is the norm. By having a circle of friends with similar background, they are better off than getting "jigging wid it" free fall, I say. The fresh year is a very difficult one. This sorority thing will come handy for the beginners
  11. OLOL has a good point. Sxb ur point is well-taken.
  12. The story was on the radio this morning. Here and there.
  13. ^An other ayaan daro. Juma brother self-examination is in order. Blve u me brother it is not about what u think. Cuqdad iyo naceyb will only consume you. Aduunkaaga iyo aakhiradaada midna uma roona walaal qabyaalada ceynkaan oo kale ah ee bal dib isugu laabo.

    Land of Punt

Didn't know that the Somali booty and the "mutton arms" existed B.C. Now u know.
  16. ^Very smart move The Answer to that question is YES. As to the disunity among Somalis in Ethiopia is as bad if not worse as Somalia no that does not sound right. Again remember there will always be friction among interest groups within any polity.
  17. Remember Ayoub Somalis in Ethiopia are not part of Somalia (not yet). They have never come under Somali state. And there is no quarrel within their ranks on the question of self-determination. You are comparing apples and oranges here sxb.
  18. I think we all agree with these two points: 1. Rape is a crime. 2. Victim should not be blamed for being raped. Is there any disagreement with these two points? No? Moving on... Now it is in the women's interest to lookout for themselves and avoid all the scenarios that might instigate or induce potential rapists out there to prey on them. We treat our assets with much care; right? We don't neglect our belongings. We make sure it is safe and secure. We do that not because we excuse thieves or justify their acts but we want to deny potential thieves the opportunity to rob us. The same philosophy applies to women safety and wellbeing.

    Dilemma

^ Can't add anything to that except it is not "nature" that's designing and manipulating creatures in a certain way (ignore this for we don't wanna change the subject here). Other than that you are on the money though. Questions: 1. Any kids with the current wife? Castro wrote: Do we really know why Allah has made having multiple wives halaal? It could be that we were meant to stray (biologically) and to lessen the burden of that urge, that avenue was opened. We all know that Allah does not put a burden on us we cannot bear. Bingo.
  20. Callypso, That was a hypothetical question. I do not excuse rapists in any way, shape, or form. I shall repeat that statement lest it does not get through ur skull. I don't excuse them period. Rape is a crime just like murder is. However, as any criminal act, intentions matter. So is the victims actions prior the commison of the crime. Just so you know, in the law, generally speaking aiding and abeting a criminal act is in itself a crime. In that hypothetical scenario, the victim induced the agressor to commit the crime. Still he is guilty of the crime. However, the victiom has a hand in the commission of the crime. Noh? That was not the point I was trying to convey though. Castro made a very strong statement. I was trying to remind him that he is human and there are instances where sexual urge might cloud one's judgment. Gotta go...

The two above articles are very informative articles. Somaliweyn waqtigaa ka hiiliyay. Waqtiga yayga hiishaye Jadamiyow kuma wareersheene, Walaal kuma iraahdeen inta wiiqa soo dhigo e. That one is too deep for Geedi's and Inna Yussuf's of the world, I suppose.
  22. How about: For girls Haboon Hibo Ebyan Idil Nasteexo Ladan Bilan Qorran For boys Mahad Galad Guled Zakaria Liban Hanad Warsame Good luck.
  23. Oh man! xabad sowda u said? Viagara is out, Xabad Sowda is in On a serious note, just so u know no manual however voluminous can keep the jealosy factor at bay. It will always be there and if u insist on goin down that road u will age quickly.
  24. To err is human. Remember that DA. Those who preach on Islam are human too and every now and then they will make mistakes. The ones that are humble and decent enough to correct, clarify, or retract their statements when they are wrong deserve our respect. Respect is in order!

    This I believe

Alright Khayr. I hear ya. U don't think this is a good idea. I heard that. U think this is a self-promotion of sort even though I don't see how nevertheless that thought of urs is noted. U aired ur take on this suggestion and u obviously don't think it's a good idea. Fine. Now "we" as u can read on this thread think this is a good idea. Some of us want to make it happen. Ur objection is noted but ignored. Leave it there buddy.
