  1. My man BOB long time no see. Well it depends. Lil drama, deep convo, a whole lot of juxtaposition (three diff naratives/events), and mighty issues of public importance (current events). My man if you don't like politics and social issues of the day -- and I suspect that is the case for I haven't seen u where big men sip tea --I say u won't like it baaba. Keep labada caanteeyn in jeeb tuuga. Na'iga aw qa'aana yicaalka Jamengo -- there are no duqur yiaka am ha'ee. Xasib come clean for once and cagan u gaat folks from quus gumdi all the way to ladxiiska *big smile* Camel Boy and the spinner in the house Dr. Propaganda aka Dr. Love you might wanna go to Bit Torrent site Mininova.org for tuuganimo (piracy)
  2. Good one. Making rounds as I write. And it takes on the establishments, voter ignorance, and naivity of the youth.
  3. Widaaygay Gediid how life's been treating you lately? Great I hope. Baaba iska dhaaf ciyaalka xaafada ha iska baashaalaan e. Awoowe addiga kala habee oo dubahaagii khafiifka ahaa qaado oo wax dagaal iyo calool ku qaad ah yaanay dhicin. Babta ka gur.
  4. That's least of ur worries babe. If you haven't figured it all out yet, THEY will die out pretty soon. By the way the kids the program talk about are the ones with talent -- first row of the pack. They got degrees (not Women's studies, African studies toilet paper) but the degrees that matter in the "productivity" fast lane world. They are talented, got numerous offers, and can hop to different nest anytime they want. Heads up all the kids here -- check before u act up in the office That said, I do agree ur take on the post. Just got ticked of the age thang.
  5. No he means Man-Child squad.
  6. There is a nice movie making rounds in Theatres now. It is called Lions for Lambs by Bob Redford. Please go and see. It is not an sleezy kinda movie. Very simple, to the point, and only has three interwoven plots to make the poignant point. Why? cuz it has something to do with how politics, wars, voter ignorance, political theatrics, and drama driven, nanosecond attention span news cycle, corporate owned media come into play in all of these things. It is a brilliantly directed movie. Tom Cruise is repping the Neocons and he is giving voice to their world, Meryl Streep is repping as a reporter for big bad corporate and commercial driven media, and the big man Redford is that Prof who sees all but don't have what it takes to make any meaningful change. And here is where you come in babe. Prof is putting all his hopes in his students. Two of them whom he has high hopes flip on him. In the name of Jingiosm and Pax Americana they want to defend the mother land by going to Afghanistan. One third of the movie is a convo between him and this bright student who figured all out but don't want to do anything about the mess he so clearly sees it. Prof wants to convince that kid to pay attention to the politics and the drivers instead of keep keepoing on in the way of whining and what not. AfricaOwn you don't know me and I don't know you. We are conversing because we have (hopefuly) honest differences on secession. I oppose secession for a reason. You said lets fight it out referring to a LA's debacle. Babe you are not doing any fight. And as wise Prof pointed out in the movie don't become a garbage (clan politics) consumer. Whatever you do DON'T support one side of the skirmishes between Somalis in that far away sand dunes. Don't do it plz. It is not right to cheer from here. Not right at all.

  9. I have watched the entire segment and if I'm not mistaken the thesis goes like this: The gen under the miscroscope are spoiled, naive, expect too mich, need a lot of babysitting, and don't have that burning ambition for upward mobility, wealth, career advancement, and what not in the belly and hence they tend to walk away from the job if they don't like how the boss do things or their vactaion spot on the calendar is altered. The other thing the narrator emphaszied is the fact that this gen is a one who get used to "all are winners" idea. They are willing to go back and live with their parents and tata. Good news mag. 60 Minutes is one of the best investigative reports around.
  10. Dems' presidential debate on CNN. Wining Hilary a la lil girl is expected to have a crocodile skin tonight. Edwards and Obama are expected to put her on the spot again. This is for all political junkies who follow these sort of issues.
  11. Entangling Alliances by Rep. Ron Paul In the name of clamping down on "terrorist uprisings" in Pakistan, General Musharraf has declared a state of emergency and imposed martial law. The true motivations behind this action however, are astonishingly transparent, as the reports come in that mainly lawyers and opposition party members are being arrested and harassed. Supreme Court justices are held in house arrest after indicating some reluctance to certify the legitimacy of Musharraf's recent re-election. Meanwhile, terrorist threats on US interests may be more likely to originate from Pakistan, a country to which we have sent $10 billion. Now we are placed in the difficult position of either continuing to support a military dictator who has taken some blatantly un-Democratic courses of action, or withdrawing support and angering this nuclear-capable country. The administration is carefully negotiating this tight-rope by "reviewing Pakistan's foreign aid package" and asking Musharraf to relinquish his military title and schedule elections. By the time he complies with the requests of the White House sufficiently to continue to receive his "allowance," courtesy of the American taxpayer, his mission will be accomplished. A more friendly Supreme Court will be installed and enough of the opposition party will be jailed or detained to assure an outcome of the elections that will meet with his approval. All the while, our administration lauds Musharraf as a trusted friend and ally. So much for a War on Terror. So much for making the world safe for democracy. Free trade means no sanctions against Iran, or Cuba or anyone else for that matter. Entangling alliances with no one means no foreign aid to Pakistan, or Egypt, or Israel, or anyone else for that matter. If an American citizen determines a foreign country or cause is worthy of their money, let them send it, and encourage their neighbors to send money too, but our government has no authority to use hard-earned American taxpayer dollars to mire us in these nightmarishly complicated, no-win entangling alliances. When we look at global situations today, the words of our founding fathers are becoming more relevant daily. We need to understand that a simple, humble foreign policy makes us less vulnerable and less targeted on the world stage. Pakistan should not be getting an "allowance" from us and we should not be propping up military dictators that oppress people. We should mind our own business and stop the oppressive taxation of Americans that makes this meddling possible. Source
  12. ^No kidding. So that's what it is all about eh? Look awoowe this TFG is waht it is. Ethiopia is in Benadir doing what they do best killing some Somalis left and right and hugging the rest. They are driving this kareeto. The question becomes do you want them out yes or no? If it is yes then there are two ways of going about this biz. One is war and in wars as you might know by now costs a great deal of blood and treasure. Sacrifice is what is needed and by the way things are going now that sacrifice is not forthcoming from Somalis. Yes there are vocakl minority screaming from the comfort of their lazy boy chair and several sub clans taking all the hits. That's not how to win wars in this magnititude. Second is khidca. You render the E-factor irrelevant in Somali politics. Ya know where I'm going with this...tata.
  13. Originally posted by AfricaOwn: Why should all these entities follow SL path? They are all for the unity of Somalia or at least that's what they claim right? The secessionist are at least honest about where they stand..You're either part of the Greater Somalia without these mini entities or you're not. Laughable. But then again you are indicative of how grief stricken parents reliving in the past can brainwash seemingly intelligent grownup kids like you. What has honest got to do with it? The fiefdoms you have in mind sprung up because the state has ceased to exist and what that happens something however mundane or mini or what have u will and do fill the vacuum. By the way SL is another fiefdom mini state. What makes unique is 1)it wants to secede an 2) Its founders have put all their eggs in the colonial legacy basket.
  14. ^Now you know what it is like to be living in the hell hole Mogadishu has become, try to moderate your warmongering calls in the name of jingiosm. You, Kaligii-Muslims of the site, and other fake nationalists have shown their lust for war. Xiinoow, the "ayaan darro" can be stopped. The E-factor is the LCD of the equation. Asmara Group hit and run, provoke Tigre and go awol when goings get tough and tough get going, and the TFG's ********* is what made the situation ayaan darro.
  15. War ba'aa boowe waxan mooday in aa tahay nin damiir leh oo Islanimadu ka dhab tahay oo ka damqanaya ayaan darrada Benadir ka dhacday. Niman hoogayoo ba'yeey iyo ciil oo way leh oo is boohinaya oo leh annaga reer Habar Hashiish ah gobanimaanu sheeganaya oo gaalka iyo reer benadir haday noo sinaadaan warkayagu iyo warankayaguba waa cad yahay baanu aragnay. Awoowe bas weeye Allah guuleeyo dalkaaga nin wanaagsan oo wado fiican hayaad tahay ee waa ku kaa halkeeda ka miis.
  16. Wax badan oo aadan addigu haatan garan karin.
  17. Awoowe ducada aamiin horta. Awoowe gaalka madow Alamtara soo dhaaf. Ducada iyo quraankii wadaado mina Allahi laga jecelyahay baan u haysanee ee tolow saanada aad ilam abtiyadiin iyo seediyadiin aad ula fara baxsaneysaan halka ay ku haboon tahay bal ku jediya. Addiga Dr. Jaceyl ah waxu waa adduun e Riyale inta majin qaad ah u qaadid waxa tiraahda gunnimo weeye waxakani e bal cambaareyn iyo waxun ka sharqami hadaaddan biidh kale taraheyn.
  18. Awoowe waa touchdown. Seven points for SL team. War ma jiro. Haye hadde hadii tolnimo iyo Muslinimo aad xagaa iyo Benadir u haysaan oo dhagihiinu iyo afkiinu is maqlaan awoowe gaalka na la dila.
  19. Mogadishu is burning in case you haven't noticed. Don't have stomach for trashy propoganda boowe. Bilaa caleyk u yaraha kaadi todobaadkan.
  20. Do they have foreign policy? That's news to me buddy. I want justice for all awoowe. I want peace for the folks at home. I have a job. It is a rewarding job. I make a decent bundle the halal way. I have peace. I have security. I have a safety net. I have access to all of the government services. I lead a normal life here in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I don't need my clan nor do I need my sub clan. In the event my rights are violated or my security is endangered, I can call the police and they'll take care things. Why on the blue earth will I side with Inna Yey and his cabal. What's in it for me awoowe? I have the courage to stand for my conviction. If I'm convinced that the opposition or the transitional entity get things right I will support them. As things stand now neither one got it right. Waa wada lunsan yihiin. My heart goes out to the civilian and innocent residents who are paying the ultimate price. I do oppose Ethiopia. I am for defeating the Tigre forces. But I don't see a viable plan of doing that. Negotiated settlement is in the interest of the people on the ground. Any decent Somali who has the interest of his fellow Muslims at heart wants to end this prolonged conflict first. You are hung up of who says what without even examining the substance of what's being suggested. Pity! PS: By the way I'm for Somaliweyn
  21. Again one ought to look one's bottom line. This conflict has no end in sight. There is a reason for that. One way of ending is all out war. Each faction using all its cards a la by any means necessary. It is costly in terms of blood and treasure. One other option is to let things take its course and pin Somalis hope on unknown factors coming from sky. There is another option. Not perfect by any means. This one has to do with a paradigm shift. Changing the zero sum game mentality to more reasonable approach of ending this conflict through negotiation.
