Some r very corrupted..they engage excessevily uncontrolled or indulgence in drink (alchohol)and sex (in groups..often fresh chicks). Ironically they r good at studies! They often help out the freshmen and women! Mostly white..I just couldn't relate to them when I was at school! If u r interested in getting easy white chicks Friday and Sat. nights is ur chance. I don't know about other schools though. don't associate with them if u can't control urself...it is very tempting.. Good for ur resume..wit good gpa ofcourse..u know the greek letters (for Eng. and IT majors). There u have it.

U must been kidding!! What is Faqash? Xamarawi? I take it as anyone from Benadir area. If that is the case then u have real problem in the near future? U have family that is elimanating approx. 2/3 of ur chances of getting a Somali husband. C'mon Sis u don't care about this guy...or do u? Fellow ur heart..nomads said! No! Nonsense. What u need to do is: 1)Go and get a BIG Muscular Jamiacan guy. 2)Gather all ur imediate family and ur so-called friends in ur place. 3)Ask what they think about ur new man! If they don't approve him then go and get urself a real MUJAHID Isaaq guy and repeat step 1) and 2). Keep doing that cuz eventually they will approve one of them and BINGO! u get urself a MAN! What's more ur family is happy as well as ur friends. Shukri will be a loved one whose name is not mentioned in the gossip sessions! WOW! Perfect world! There u are sis! It's a tough world...huh! Sorry if I get ur nerve I didn't mean to but be loyal to ur family only when they r right! Ur friends...hmm! watch out they may get ur Xamarawi. Just a thought,

Well, They do hang out 2gether! Depends what school u r @. It is very very very difficult to be with ur own kind if they r not in the same dept(e.g Engineering vs. Business Management)..and campus is very big. So may be u r in different situation but from what I know they stick 2gether. Also if u getting behind on ur classes u don't wanna seen let alone been with..u wanna aced on that class. Mpls is a good example: Go Wilson library!!!!!! They even have associations. They love each other. I don't know about London though u may be right.

Kowneyn, Wahhabism vs. Suffism To u one is wrong and the other is right huh! Well bro, No need to argue on this ok it is so simple: All u need to do is to make distinction between the primary sources of Islam (The Quran and the Sunnah) and legal opinions of scholars on specific issues, which may vary and be influenced by their times, circumstances, and cultures. Such opinions and verdicts do not enjoy the infallibility accorded to the primary and revelatory sources. In this case Wahabi was a scholar so was Al-Qasali and other suffis. We love them all and pray Allah and say Raliyalahu canhum' What the fuss is all about! We, the nomads, pray Allah for u and say 'Allah yahdiika Kowneyn' Don't confuse urself and all of us, the nomads.

Naasir, I only know four Somali women who have M. degree and 3 of them work and get paid pretty well. The other one is Italian-educated and couldn't get a job here in US. From what I gathered, they wish that they could have a "quality" time with their kids and they r always looking for a family member to trust for baby-sitting task! How lucky are those men who have educated wifes @home. Imagine urself in their shoes! 1)Ur kids will get help on homework, reading, religion, and wat not! 2)Hospitals..no need for translation their beloved mother would be there reciting their medical history. 3)If need be she can get employed at no time. Educated ones know and would be thrilled to get them releived off work and let her attend to her beloved children if they have men that can handle the tasks in front of them. Such a lady deserves a man who respects, helps, and values her talent and tries to find a part time slot so she can keep her talent on track for the family sake. And u consider that a setback?????? I wouldn't work for somebody else if I could be independent and sure I will be grateful to anyone who let me stay home and let me play with my kids and same time puts bread on my table. Women r same! When it comes to kids they value the time with them. Housewives! huh it is has bad connatations but how about Mothers! Try to frame ur statements with mothers in it? I think i have to stop there. That is my take on ur question.

I wouldn't mine who other ppl mary...marriage is always good. If u were my sister(blood)though and come to me for advice I would say NO! don't do it! But if u r just telling me ur decision I would support u (financialy, emotionally,..100%). But I can understand why ur close relatives would not like to see u getting involved in that type of relationship. Many parents just can't relate to other non-Somali in-laws plus the language barrier and wat not. What u think about the kids and thier grannies that cannot understand each other? Dating = social engagement with a connataion! Dating...negative and unnecessary! On this side of the globe Dating is not like shukaansi or akhris as we know it! It is more fun and Baashaal and all kinda qooto if u know what i mean! For Lazygirl to come out and brag about the dating as it is OK..is really very telling.... ASSIMILATION...all the the nomads who r wannabees...good luck! Don't get me wrong just a thought!

Hmm..freedom or equality? nuh...can't do it!! Well, these two are the two sides of the same coin! This should be clear to all of us. In a utopia where every soul gets what he/she wishes for, there are no difference between the two anyway. Back to earth though! you may state your choice to an authority that has the power to deny you both of them or grant you one as it sees fit. In the interest of all of us nomads let me enlighten u about Kritikal_Mind's tautology. Ali is free under the eyes of whoever! But Ali is unequal to Jamal under the same authority cuz Jamal is a from nobel class like blue blood and what not (House of lords in Egland!!) On the other hand Scorpion is equal to Nuune but she is not free to wear her hijab in her college cuz the law says that's forbiden (Turkey??). Where does this lead us?? For the nomads who chose equality if u meant equal to everyone under that system including those who call the shots. That to me means that you are free as well cuz u may be able to change the rules if you are equal to have same say on the matter on hand. On the same token if you are free to run for public office then you are equal to those who are running for the same seat. Hmm..sound too simplistic if so then this is what you need to factor in if u are about to scream and say but look America... Aha! Now plug power, wealth, education, and majority(demographic sense) in that equation and it all comes together. Kritikal_Mind need to have tea and flip the pages of whatever philosophy or sociology book he is assigned to and find better challenge for him and us, the nomads...lol just a joke Should we then say both are unalienable right in which no one would dare to grant or deny our right to these gifts from Allah. I think that will do it! Just a thought.
