Sxb, it is the other way around, I’m afraid...from my part it was trivial post engaging with a cyber friend...or so I thought. I guess this Oromo thing that I keep throwing at u is getting ur nerve Do u see how u r getting out of line in assuming all sorts of things...taking a leap of imagination: picturing me as an old fella with bald and bit of belly, suffering mental and physical deterioration (senility), with wrinkles, who used to do things... And see how u ate back ur own words...now u r just being witty prankster passing time right? At least own it up Well I will age with grace and will raise kids right...thank u for the advice, it is a good one. Now Gediid - the young, handsome, energetic, athletic pal that u r - can't u at least face Somali chicks without this Xabasha mask and this danaanash lousy pick up line? ***Mumbling, disoriented, the old man can’t find his bakooro...finally finds it and goes to the exit and start walking with all the three legs...mumbling in a repetitive mode: grace with age n don’t write on the SOL forums, raise them kids right, grace with age...don’t.......***

Nothing Is that ur final answer sxb. That will do for an answer... In the old days there was no self-hate and the fact that we r Somali was not an issue. Oromo lingo definitely was not useful... But congrats u figure it out nowadays anything that is not Somali can get u nice *** in some circles...what a joke! Back to the nite club, there is no more to it than picking up chicks who are there for the taking (for self-hating ones by mascular non-Somali fella...it does not make any difference), social drinking (to put it politely), pumping n grinding (called a dance of sort), digit swapping for the long haul (as opposed to one nite stand game), and having a good time you know! Unless u go there to watch others having good time or stand in the sideways to stare...nite club is a way to socilaize for some. Those who avoid Somalis cuz they do want to remain anonymous cuz the ones they went out with before had blown their cover...hey by all means do whatever works for you to keep your affairs private...But DON NOT generalize or degrade all Somali women or men... leaving and signing......"sail on, good time never been so good
-
Gediid, Excuse my ignorance but I always thought nite clubs are there for those who wanna have good times...ahem butt-shaking, Pumping n Grinding (with consent mind u), getting high on alcohol, the music, and the ultimate thrill: getting a hot chick - that is if u didn't come with one. What else is there? PS: I was prophetic on the Bus stop scenerio with exquizite, the nomad eh!

I for one have no issues with Sophist’s posts...let me say that right of the bat. He is a talented nomad and most of his posts are interesting, informative and at times unnecessarily challenging to the “less read” fellas whose English is a second language - the qaxootis like me that is. In some of his posts, he tends to ornate and diffuse! It is not surprising at all, if some of the nomads notice the archaic diction he uses. After all Sophist does use archaic diction in a pompous way I guess Samurai Warrior made an interesting point when he observed the fact that there is a subtle difference of the way American and British folk write and that reflects in the way Somalis in the NA and UK write. I don’t know about UK but here in the US, instructors go in a great length to impress upon their students the need for clear, simple, and short composition in their writing communication. I have to agree though every nomad has a right to write the way she/he pleases and feels comfortable. However, in a cyber forum like this one, posters will definitely get some feedback - and that is a good thing. My feedback: simplicity and clarity is the way to go  Sophist plz keep it coming I do enjoy your posts.

Somalis in America: The Challenges of Adaptation July 15 – 17, 2004 Macalester College St. Paul, Minnesota Check here for more details In the meantime, what are the challenges of adaptation we Somalis face here in the West?

Home sweet home is Somalia for me. I feel home when I am with Somalis who I can relate to and with whom I feel safe...! You see I convinced myself that if given the chnace (peace, the rule of law,...) I would be succesfull in Somalia way much more than I am now. Oh! where else would I get a 1000 acres of land legally with a bargain! I've just had it with this system of riba where it takes 20 years to own a home (1200 square feet mind you) and end up paying 4x more than the original price. The down side is of course over there the services are not as good as the ones we have here in the West and this tribe label (regionalism) that you have to deal with. In time, Somalis will be peace with themselves and Somalia insha'Allah will be the promise land to all of us.

Just another day in the calendar. I hope that as a country we learn from our mistakes.

Same here No sympathy for him. But I very much question the legitimacy of the prosecutors. They too have blood on their hands.

Originally posted by Mutakalim: The purpose of this thread was to enquire about the rational legitimacy of Religious Irrationalism (not a contradiction mind you). Mutakalim, Do you believe in the supremacy of logic and deductive reasoning OVER the revealed truth: the Divine book (Qur’an)? How you reconcile them in the event they contradict? Can they contradict? Is there limitation to what we know or can know? What is the criterion of truth or put it differently what is it that you use as the basis to reach the truth? I’m asking these probing questions in the context of religion “irrationalism” and this rationalizing/legitimizing business you wanted us to discuss in this thread.

Baashi, you’ll be opening the door for a very lucrative business there, sxb. They'll attack hospitals every day of the week. Possibly! And we don’t want to encourage the ransom-taking gangs by giving them incentives to do more. But what if this is not a ransom. What if this is compensation paid in lieu of legit grievances stemming from medical mistakes made by the good doctor? We sure do know that there is no venue for legal recourse for the woman to get the compensation other than “xeer”. After all, this part of Somalia is anarchic where you need militiamen of your own clan to get justice. They shouldn’t disrupt the hospital but now they did; how best this standoff can be resolved? lol Baashi true, as NGONGE said, tan taajir baad ku noqon kartaa! And the pessimist in me (the dominant one in schizophrenic arsenal of personalities) agrees. You blew my cover there! Caan geel...how am I gonna make mo dawg now .

50 Camels 1 Camel = $70.00 US (estimate) 50 x $70.00 = $3500.00 Do you want this quarrel to end and the hospital function so the poor and sick can get the help they need? Someone has to pay the money! whether the woman is entitled the compensation is immaterial. If we pay $20.00 US, 175 of us can reopen that medical facility! Anyone? for hor Illaahey!

"What is Islam’s stance concerning such an act? Can such an atrocity be justified in Islam? Does Islam allow Muslims to behead civilians and prisoners of war? Please answer me urgently. Jazakum Allah khairan for your co-operation." The answer is posted on this website. The prominent Azharite scholar, Sheikh `Abdul-Majeed Subh and the eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`i Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef both stated that this act "CAN NEVER BE justified as an Islamic act" That being said, one must put this event in context. There is a website called Iraqi Body Count. All these casualties were perpetrated by Judeo-christain forces in the name of liberty and a bid to defeat the "evil" aka Islamic radicals (in their book) to tip the balance of power in the region for Isrealis favor. Our outrage should be directed to the growing U.S. messianic instincts. There is no need for hating poor, wronged Iraqis. Even his own father blames his son's death to the "sins of Bush and Rumsfield".

^^My favorite song "dadka ha iska weyneyn" by Mooge. Words of wisdom in these lyrics. Cumar Dhuule is by far one of the best in my book. Qaraami songs: Shimbirayahow heesa By Magool. Gododle waa gediisii By Mooge, Magool and Hibo. Qadar dhacay By Ahmed Naaji. BTW, Libaax just in case you need qaraami songs, I have a good collection in MP3 format.
