I'd like to get a sense of the student population on SOL and what they're studying. For the sake of Somalia, I hope there are more physicists than political scientists

I think the only ethical answer is to flip the switch... regardless, someone will be killed, and it seems unconscionable to me to allow the train to keep moving towards five people. Five killed, or one? I would choose the latter. So you have chosen to assume agency. Now what if it was a sword in your hand and had to kill one to use his/her organs to save 5 people?

US Iran deal, the Isolation of Israel and the New Shia power

Khadafi;987785 wrote: Ditoore, I dont know if you have ever been to Egypt but nobody forbids you to pray in the mosque, Though if your trying to get power, weather your an islamist, secular or communist whats certain that you will rot in some prison cell. If Sheikhs were the answer then Saudia Arabia would be answer right? The constitution of Saudia Arabia is as they say 100% based upon Sharia. Just as your video of Qaradawi, I do agree with him that we have not seen even a needle being produced by the gulf. Nassers Egypt was not 100% perfect but during his time the arabs could draw some inspiration from it. They (Egyptians) have gone from inspiration to zero influence. Remember that Egypt is the bread basket and cultural capital of the arab World. What is with people equating Islam with Saudi Arabia? War, the place is the exact damn opposite. It's Islam as a dress but what's inside is rotten. The only losers in this agreement btw is Israel and their allies, KSA & other gulf powers. -

LOL ^ 27 minutes a day! Brother, qosol baa u dhimaan gaaray. Somaliidu waa sida and increasingly so. However, I hope the qurbo-joog can bring back a little work ethic with them. -
Safferz;987722 wrote: lol, I'm sorry to break it to you but "in the real world" they exist, regardless of your need to erase the existence, histories and lives of people and families who are both Somali and Christian by claiming their statistical insignificance. I don't really care that this seems to personally offend you, your butthurt doesn't change history and fact. No use in continuing this discussion, circular logic is exhausting and pointless to reason with. Your immunity to BS is amusingly amazing. It's as if you respond to every lazy retort with reason and deep contemplation of the issues being debated. lol silly you. Anyway, here are the unicorns, again. http://somalisforjesus.blogspot.com/ There is (dead) pastor in there with the name Yacqub Maxamad. Blew my mind.

Xaaji Xunjuf;987503 wrote: Surely yes the Koonfurians are in a political crisis remember the Prime minister and the President are having a their usual cat fights sidi caadadu u ahayd. I think they told the Turks to give them more time no official statement there is still a chance for the talks to happen first week of December. Honest question: When the North eventually takes its rightful place as a regional state within the federal system, will you protest in the streets? Will you call for the independence of an entity named "Somaliland" from Somalia? if so, can you please provide your arguments here? Thank you.

The Turks want to open a consulate in Somaliland.

There is such a thing as "Republic of Somaliland" outside of Somalia? How could it be? Why didn't anyone tell me? Did the Somalis invade Yemen? How many kilometers before we take over Makkah? So excited, mates! Helicopters! -

Hawdian;987549 wrote: That madobe guy is fareed doesn't give a shit about somali isku abtir si stuff in Xamar just minds his business with Kismayo and seems to be a calm politician . Calm and Madoobe? Have you been under a rock the last 10 years? Saciid should have pulled in his family a long time ago. He will have a good amount of support from HG because of his wife and because he is very close to those on his mother's side. In hindsight, he should have warmed up to SAHAL a long time ago considering he was surrounded by hand-picked Da**adiids. Still, he has a chance because Farole and Co. know that whoever will replace Saciid will not be from their corner. And, of course, they gain tremendous political capital if he stays and they had something to do with it. The biggest loser in all of this is the President. He alienated a lot of good men when he made ridiculous demands as to the cabinet during the PM selection process. Da**adiid's infiltration of the government has made him some enemies in the parliament. There is little doubt that the next PM will not be as calm and willing to take a backseat as Saciid has done. The next PM can only try to undermine the Da**adiid project because he will look at what calm and deference did to Saciid. The President's best option, if he wishes to avoid a power struggle with his next MP, will be to promote from within. Of course, "within" cannot mean a dam-jadiid member or else he loses the majority of parliament. If there's a way the President can win in this situation, I certainly don't see it. Except, promote Fauzia to PM while he "searches" for a replacement for the next 3 years.

On SOL, I most revel in the "Somaliland just built half a road," or "Somaliland minister just shook hands with Britain's Foreign Minister's assistant's ex-girlfriend" type of threads. We understand that there are some of you plenty cadaan sycophants who celebrate each time a white man rents a hotel in Hargeisa. But have a bit of pride mates.

Haatu;986752 wrote: You're mixing things now awoowe. Of course our region is the least developed, no one denies that. What I'm denying is the notion that we're not demanding our rights. Kenya today is a changed place and the Somalis are making strides. This is why Mandera County received the biggest county budget I believe. From now on we will only blame ourselves for our underdevelopment as the central government is at last giving the area decent money. It is the practice of colonists to spend more on the unruly regions to keep a tighter control on that population. They also pay their native police force a higher wage so that they oppress with more vigor and enthusiasm. Higher budget means nothing. The man who writes the check dictates its allocation. Of course, as we see in the documentary, security issues are paramount at the moment. It would be unwise for that money to be used in any manner that is not spying on, corralling, and caging those unruly and disloyal locals.

Alpha Blondy;986652 wrote: it's a shame Abdi Warsame's victory was engineered. it sort of ruins/taints this invincibility and cult-like like following he's amassed. . he only won after redistricting. all things considered, i think it's pitiful that he's paraded around these boards as though some sort of Jesus-like figure. he won in a majority Somali area. y'all redrew the election constituents boundary and that's why he won. smart idea. he didn't win fairly. he knows that, we now know that. and LSTooow, abti......i'd appreciate it very much, if you stopped posting this sort of misleading information for our common cordial relations and overall decency. thanks. Al. The correct term is "gerrymandered." Alpha, this is a fundamental tactic in American elections. This is does not mean that Warsame's win was less impressive. To the contrary, it was more impressive. Warsame managed to gerrymander the district to fit in more of his electorate. These districts are arbitrary and are constantly re-drawn according to the desires of political aspirants. Republicans have managed to capture the House of Representatives primarily using this tactic. He not only won fairly, he won strategically. As a political junkie, I call this move, BRILLIANT. The man has a long, bright future in politics. You might as well jump on the bandwagon.

Apophis;986393 wrote: Certainly not. There's no evidence you can present here which would show: all thought lead to words, action, habits and finally into character, as you imply in that sentence. The way I see it, you (and others) are really finding the word problematic because of your "qurbo-joogness", where you've been taught, directly and indirectly, to act and think in a politically correct manner. The Horn, fortunately, does not suffer from that nonsense. It is not the source of the medicine that matters. Rather, its ability to cure. Sheikh Muhammad Abduh, a great Muslim scholar of the 19th century, once said: "I went to the West and saw Islam, but no Muslims; I gets back to the East and saw Muslims, but not Islam." He meant that Muslim had the aqiidah but we were and continue to lack the adhaab (manners) of Al-Islam. Western folk may lack the aqiidah but their human to human interactions will leave little doubt that they have the adhaab. We must strive for both.
