  1. Another myth of the kacan debunked is: the kacaan argued that Richard corfield was helping landers who were British lackeys against the dervishes even though the bulk of the top commanders of the dervish were landers: "From July to December, 1912, the Dervishes had remained concentrated in the Gerrowei district; and the Ain Valley was left deserted not only by the Mullah's forces, but also by the lawful occupants, most of whom were afraid to return to this danger zone. Amir, the Mullah's uncle and emissary in the Og (onlf) country, spent this period of quiescence in obtaining supplies of food, clothing, and ammunition from Abyssinian sources. No reply to the Commissioner's suggestion for an armistice had been received, and there was no doubt that the Mullah was temporising to see whether the formation of the Camel Constabulary was a prelude to a Government expedition, as was generally rumoured. In December, however, he established a small party of 150 Dervishes at Ainabo, with instructions to win over the las canod folk to his cause. The various sections of the tribe were offered the return of all stock captured during the past three years if they would but join him ; and a reward of 100 camels would be made to any individual rifleman or horseman deserting to the haroun. The Mullah pointed out to the Las canod folk that they had been severely punished for their allegiance to an infidel Government which afforded them no real protection ; and they were advised to throw in their lot with their own kith and kin. If they declined these terms, they must step aside entirely and afford the Dervishes a free passage through the valley. One month he allowed for deliberation and upon their decision depended their future safety or destruction" The mad mullah of SOMALILAND by Douglas jardin
  2. 2 hag 2 landers and the Abdulle hassans mother are buried in taleex: the dervish but the kacaan made it appear to be a tribal movement. Cambulo we have been had Saxib. Hahah
  3. Cambulo here is your sources and proof bro jut removed the tribal names but its a document so read it for yourself Author(s): W. A. MacFadyen Reviewed work(s):Source: The Geographical Journal, Vol. 78, No. 2 (Aug., 1931), pp. 125-128Published by: Blackwell Publishing on behalf of The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute ofBritish Geographers)Stable URL: http://www.jstor.org/stable/1784443 . South of the main cave-well is the considerable tomb of 'Abdullah Hasan senior, well plastered inside and out; it is now said to be empty. Adjoining this on the west is a walled garden with massive gateway and guard-house; the rest ofthe wall is not more than 5 feet high and plastered. There are still odd bushes and signs of cultivation to be seen, but the comparatively deep well in the middle is dry. To the east lies a row of four tombs. The most northerly is that of one Soldan Nur of the (Lander) tribe; the next two, neither being plastered. and the first with the top left unfinished, are those of Hag notables whose names my Somalis did not know. The most southerly tomb is that of a man of the Lander tribe. The isolated tomb still farther east is that of 'AbdullahHasan's mother. All the tombs are provided with narrow but very massive wooden doors, swinging about vertical extensions from top and base of one side. A little east of Soldan Nur's tomb is a shallow nulla, seen as a dark line in the photograph, and known as Hed Kaldig, the Place of Blood. This was the execution ground where those to whom the Mullah had taken a dislike were shot, with or without torture. Had such anticipated trouble and escaped, any members of their families on whom hands could be laid, including women and children, are said to have been shot in their stead, and their bodies left for the hyaenas. After the capture of Taleh pious Somalis collected the quantities of human bones found hereabouts and gave them burial. However this may be there are no human bones about now. According to Jardine the R.A.F. bombed Taleh on 4 February 1920, and set fire to brushwood huts inside and outside Silsilat, but did little damage to the main structures, which is not surprising. The place was attacked by our tribal levies under Captain Gibb on the evening of February 9; 'Abdullah Hasan had already fled, and by the morning of the 10th the levies were in com? plete possession. A detachment of the Camel Corps remained for two or three weeks to demolish the fortifications. Dar Ilalo,Taleh, and Falat were severely damaged and made unusable, and the strong points fronting Silsilat were partly destroyed. Razing such a structure would have required much further work and explosives, so that a considerable part has been left with little damage. It will remain as a relic of that rather remarkable person its builder, the only Somali who has so far created substantial buildings in his country
  4. Sultan Nuur was a lander sultan who is barried there he was the cofounder of the dervishes and died defending the fort and the British had a bounty on his head and the kacaan portrayed him as English friendly: when this document proves the mad mullah begged the British http://www.smi.uib.no/sa/06/6Kapteijns.pdf And the above is backed up with a letter sent In Oct/Nov 1900 sent to Hayse-Sadler the governer at the coast begging for help: (removed all tribal names) “The Gerad Ali Farah, the Sultan of the (las canod) made so bold as to send a message to the Consul-General to the effect that his old friendly relations with us remained unchanged although, owing to the evil influence of the Mullah, his orders were no longer obeyed by his tribe. For this act the Sultan was treacherously murdered by the Mullah's command ; and the bodies of the twelve principal sheikhs in the (las canod) country were seized.”

Cambulo did you know two of the top dervish commanders were hag and are barried in taleex??? The hag did more for the dervishes then those the kacaan argue did? Haha

Look at the oil in the somali region of Ethiopia most of it is taken by the state only according them with the basics. Good luck to them inshallah they should try and hold on to as much as they can.

The state itself offers a lot but the government primary responsibility is to defend and maintain the state: step 1.

It's joint committee of three each based in Hargaisa as a temporary arrangement. We get our share and control our airspace. They control their airspace. The movement of politicians was rejected along with everything else and if mugdisho screws up it will still be in SOMALILAND. What sovereign state shares joint control of it airspace with what it sees as a province within Somalia?? To sign this is to admit to being equals. How can you be an equal of another authority and claim jurisdiction of all of Somalia ??? The way I see it in time it Strengthens Somalilands hands because it is more capable as a state then the state that argues to represent them in the international arena this will backfire on Somalia in the long run and benefit SOMALILAND.

Clannism led to the abuse of power and injustice, clanism led to the etempt to exterminate entire groups of people and reward others, clanism led to the death of millions across the nation and a civil war based on clanish interest, clanism led to the current kismayo issue and the permanent peralysis of the Somalian state. Without clanism or clanish agenda or clanish desires Somalis would not be in this mess. It will remain until we can create a structure to control it.

  19. ^^^ in terms of strategy siad barre had no idea what he was doing. He aligned with the Soviet Union then the U.S.A. Then lost both to Ethiopia. He had no actual sincere communist beliefs he just wanted to see how much he could get. Ethiopia had a strategy the only reason why the Somali Republic lost to Ethiopia is because of the mistakes made in aligning wither powers and poor international relations with other countries particularly the soviet communist block. It was so bad yemen supported Ethiopia in that war.

  22. ^^^ SOMALILAND is a multiparty democracy one man one vote that has held many elections, has regional and local governments all without mr Burundi and mr Uganda. The day you achieve that you can boast but before that in the eyes of logic you are beneath their system. In the 21st century you are a UN trusteeship In all but name and you are ordered and pushed around by third world African states. Your own president bought his presidency on a flawed 4.5 tribalist system so who are you to lecture SOMALILAND.
  23. ^^^ he was just in naiborbi the other day talking about somaliweyn to the khatumo crew Saxib this is fake news. It would be best if all somalilanders could live in one state and work together but Cali Galayd hasn't sucked enough blood yet. I highly doubt this is the case Galayd would have o resign his Somalian parliament seat before coming but its his country he is more then welcome.

The ssdf was the first and it was the biggest flop in the history of rebelian they ended up surrendering even though they had new weaponry from Ethiopia and this is the time Abdullahi Yusuf stuck a xabashi flag on somali soil. The somali government supported the og people in Ethiopia. After the failure of ssdf. SNM movement based in Ethiopia at the time asked for arms. They only received light arms an petrol. Once the SNM had taken control of what was then the north. State collapse allowed southern rebels to pick up arms government arms not ethiopian because by then Ethiopia ad Somalia had a treaty not to support rebel forces in Ethier country
