The cornerstone for the huge tadjourah port and railway project has been laid out: jeuneafrique.com. Always envied my sibling trips as dad did the market study for the old mineral water plant there and regularly led students by sea back then. An historic and multicultural (Cushitics, Arabs, Ottomans etc) port city with a record of 13 centuries of sea trading key to regional commerce, recently eclipsed, this scheme is expected to revive this part of the country along the other projects and booming regional mining exports, oil and other sectors (huge potash reserves to transit locally, pipeline for S. Sudan crude exports, refinery etc). Mining Prospects & Exploration: Djibouti is at an early stage in terms of exploration activities for hydrocarbons. There is a limited amount of data and although exploration activity has picked up elsewhere in East Africa and Yemen during the last 25 years, Djibouti remains very much underexplored. However, Oyster Oil is confident, based on its work to date, that a number of potential oil bearing basins...(Oyster Oil & Gas) Oyster Meeting in Djibouti with President Bonanza gold grades In East Africa, grassroots exploration in the Ethiopian Rift Valley and extending into Djibouti has identified multiple gold-bearing veins with some surface gold values exceeding an ounce per tonne (32 g/t) of gold. Stratex’s success in the region attracted Thani Ashanti, an AngloGold Ashanti JV company that has become an important Stratex partner and is funding a package of exploration licences in Ethiopia and Djibouti – the “Afar Project”. AngloGold Ashanti is also a substantial shareholder in Stratex International (11.52 per cent). The most exciting recent development is the partnership’s discovery of the Pandora epithermal vein system in Djibouti, where a gold-bearing vein up to 2.5 metres in width is exposed over approximately 1,500 metres. Drilling should start in the first half of next year". Saudis in the aviation sector approached the Enac (fr) graduates at my younger bro workplace but he's aiming for 2 years of exp. before leaving for the gulf (he's more and more of a wadaad). It seems a trend lately for people to opt for there. There is something I admire deeply yet can't understand about people wholly passionate about a field; I've always been much more of an eclectic dilettante equally pasionate about history, healthcare or economics etc (informally). Thierry is well-rounded, albeit maybe not much into sciences; it's impressive by Somali standard. So, Ngonge what do you advise me to opt for and what would fit me?

It's all cool as long as I'm getting humus? food therapy seems familliar with this "organic"choco. Have been told about local sheikhs working with others and publishing, they want their party legalised before the soon to come parliamentary elections in jabuuti; seems even one of the religious pres. son is on their side. Sh Abdillahi Nuh is his well known scholar, other famous preachers like Sh Abdourahman Bashir, professionals etc are involved too behind a canny "freedom, democracy & anti-corruption" banner (including this local women group); a scenario a la Misr is possible. Interesting times indeed. Maybe I should task Thierry with providing a coherent economic plan

It's funny Juxa you complained about T. Air., at least the flight safety is covered; with Daallo ten years ago, I litterally jumped into the plane at the last minute by paying by card when it was already supposed to take off from Roissy, "yeah it's delayed, gimme your card and go hurry up to the tarmac its there" or something along those lines; of course had to borrow bros macawis etc when I arrived home since the luggage had to be retrieved days laters at their office in downtown Jabuuti. I seldom complain about that as long as safety is ok and not overcharged (it was cheaper than air france). Would have checked near Nice or Paris now, get bargain quality clothes etc but even easyjet seems not so cheap at times. I understand xamar is around $400 more than jabuuti but I guess the separate return ticket betweem them is not very different.

Renewable Energies However, on the horizon is the potential to generate massive amounts of power in Djibouti by exploiting the country’s geothermal assets. Located at the junction of three tectonic plates, Djibouti has significant geothermal potential, and with many points beneath sea level and lying on the Great Rift Valley, drilling presents a more viable and affordable option to many other places.[...] The government of Djibouti has already given the green light to one such project, reaching agreement for a $20m programme with the Global Environment Facility, World Bank and OPEC. The development phase will be in the form of a public private partnership. The drilling of exploratory and production wells is scheduled to be completed by 2013 with generation capacity of 56MW coming on stream by 2018.[...] Early next year, a €35m desalination plant and an adjoining windfarm supplying 20MW, will begin construction with a view to completing by the end of 2014. There is also a 62MW wind farm being proposed for the Ghoubet region. By 2018, Djibouti has the ambition to be one of the first countries in the world to have 100% of its electricity consumption from renewable energy. asc all; so just fixin (moving a bit) a tooth can cost thousands; maybe Stoic would do a discount lol Is Norf phone on today? where did the last episode ends? shaaric falastin or elewhere? this suspense is good for morosity... Alhamdulilah for the sun, run in the park in order; you guys should count your blessing, plus you got endless free sauna and hot water. Cant understand btw why Xamar costs much more when Turkish Airl. to Jabuuti is around 600 euros.

Come to think about it, it's all free; some even got into Islamic univ as adults with scholarships and housing for their families or get some wealthy sheikh to sponsor them. You'd make such a charming and riveting Islamic talkers for all those foot fans or ladies Anyway, glad you are having fun, I'm torn between escaping the gloom, dental treatment that requires presence every trimester (had to drown the shock with latte and pastrie when this orthodentist just offered a quote; the french one looks like a bargain); may try Turkey while managing some other issues; dilemmas never end you see but one can look at the positives. I'm sure you noticed food vocabulary seems very familiar: khubs maca samak etc ; Though I need lots of revision and practice myself it's always a pleasure to help if you want or got skype etc. Try evening Islamic classes sxb, the town got at least one good place for that.

lol Norf; you just need survival structure and words (much of it already familliar) since those phrases or 400-800 words account for almost all you'd hear. Try madeenah serie/mastering series by palgrave, you already read the script, pronounce well etc so the rest shoud be flowing. The madeenah series book is ok for beginner, one of the bros at the mosque will be glad to assist you (book1 plus the mastering book2 is a good mix), it's just that words in mastering 1 are more for say diplomats (btw, the lahja in SA is closest to standard arabic or Quranic one, which is great). There is arabi beyna yadeek serie but I guess you are after basic speaking and understanding and can wait for more grammar or less recurrent vocabular (once at intermediate stage after few weeks, the rest is largely self-study and according to your reasons for learning, either religious or others). Of course, never be shy to speak, and think in your new langage, start by enumerating your actions and stuff or kitchen wares in the morning: "sa'ashrab finjaan qaxwa macal khubs" "al zubda filthalaaja" "maada yuriid Ngonge tilka saaca, al kalaam cindahu maayakmalshi" to mix the lahjas :D Ps hope you found your way to the red sea for swims

^^I think he'll be doing just fine with few chapattis/fish; I hope you will wait for us for bigger things Can't think about anything other than the sea and maybe few towers or venues over there. Got a sms from the consulate so the biometric, free replacement passport is ready; what about a short cumrah trip Ngonge?

AfricaOwn, Norf is a known asset to our community brother; it's counterproductive that we focus on mere misunderstandings. N.O.R.F wrote: ^I have nothing against him. His party didn't make it so maybe he should just retire from politics and treat people in a hospital. That is the drama with democracy, esp when clan issues or emotions count more than the rest; you can only treat few people as a doctor but a clinician can impact on and save many more lives as minister or president if sincere (he said apparently too that he can do so much more in politics than as a common DR). All the big issues such as water and hygiene or nutrition litteracy (both areas account for most health problems esp. in Sland where infectious diseases are the most common issues) but also healthcare on the curative rather than preventive side need urgent focus and to be placed as a top priority; this is what really matters alongside small-scale infrastructure scheme on the economic side. But that can only be tackled by uncorrupt leaders focused on those twin priorities, with supportive elites and medias (not resisting proper taxes and stopping distractions with irrelevant issues and other divisive matters).

Thanks AB bro, sounds a good idea when fully implemented. N.O.R.F;897098 wrote: He called me back today Maybe I pronounced Wyre wrong? So if I settled there, I would have received those calls too? didn't receive yet the one in question btw. Wyre, Norf is as harmless as can be bro; the only alarming thing with him is that you may get the urge to kidnap him just to get him to share his full wisdom and experience Would have loved seeing T. babysitting now he's sole in charge

Che, just told you vit D is important for all and every reason. seems a fast langage app for learners with similar langages that fully exploit similarities (it seems even better or ideal along the softwares "Tell me more" by auralog). You'd almost learn Spanish for fun if you could spare few weeks if speaking french or italian. Come to think about it, I should get credits from a reputable institution for langages and other skills; is there a way to gain much credit or admission into a selective school or program based on it (langages, programming, advanced maths etc) in the USA or Canada?

Local election polls results in Somaliland 2012
Abu-Salman replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Save for charismatic visionaries, politicians always follow the masses and the medias (themselve a big liability despite some positive sides); long overdue medias regulations and mass litteracy and publishing for ethics, equality and health awareness will shift the focus on those real issues. -

Freedom? Justice? All that really matters now is for elites, traders and big companies to be properly taxed (including annual property taxes) with discretionary budgets or locally high salaries for polticians to be scrapped in favor of basic care and food subsidies for our vulnerable masses. Its not grand visions or a matter of decades but sheer will, esp with so many templates or examples. -
Buenos noches, vitamin D es un desfio constante para todos Che, es importante para saludad y genes (didnt google it, never thought sp were that similar to french now that many former comrades returned from cuban medical schools and have got a club along local experts sent in).

They say Med Hashi was the father of the anti-corruption drive but then got frustrated; his companion Dr Gaboose got his Ummada party; some individuals are outstanding but not the parties it seems... -

I would never dare imagining Norf as lacking in vision or sophistication (not gonna spoil my planned trip); seriously, it's hard for even very educated people to fully realise that proper healthcare and equality are what really matters and that this core priority requires much less resources than thought. I realised that mostly because the family was heavily involved in the local health reforms and the case studies of many regions or countries that are very progressive despite little resources; all that need vision and focused elite (or democracy seems a recipe for chaos and suffering). -
I don't bother with it, their slowing down etc but avoid downloads etc from corrupt sites. If you must, try panda cloud or maybe old timer avast (both free, try tucows for downloading safe freewares).

Local election polls results in Somaliland 2012
Abu-Salman replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
^It's only to be expected given our mentalities; lost much of my youth idealism; even a tripling of the per capita GDP will not help much without proper elites and mentality change. So you guys have given up on Sland turning into at least a Jordan or at very least Jabuuti with less inequalities? -
Had wonderful surprise at the consulate; young staff were smiling, offering sweets...and free passport! As incredible as this sounds, they offered a replacement and biometric one for the remaining 2-3 years validity period "due to administration's fault" so no need for a new one or any fee, even the photo was offered (just waiting for an sms this week); no legendary arrogance or names prejudice at all (was apprehending excuses and missing piece). Went out beamingly "merci, au revoir" as we shared jokes too. Helping this distressed bro with his meal was maybe involved.
