  1. Why would anyone reject or try to stop peace among neighbors , especially in Burco. That is the big question everyone is asking these days in Somaliland. Last week East Burco influential elder " Boqor Buurmadow" and other called a " Shir" between east and west Burco community to discuss harmony and conflict resolution among them. As soon as that news hit in the airwaves, messrs, Faysal waraabe and Mohamed Kahin, the interior minister, jumped and denounced the incoming Shir. There have been many tribal gatherings in Somaliland throughout the years, yet what made this unacceptable is very strange. We all know that no government has the power to deny people to assemble freely for whatever reason, and usually these tribal gatherings call for harmony and peace. In fact, it was Ahmed Siilaanyo who called the first major tribal gathering before the election of 2010. Before that , leaders of Somaliland Cigaal and Rayaale never organized a tribal convention. Of course desperate measures were needed in order to gain power in Somaliland. Even Saleebaan Gaal, the chairman of the Guurti was forced to attend by east Burco clan elders , and were told explicitly to avoid hindering the ambitions of Siilaanyo who started the journey some 25 years ago. It was the first open clan politics and it did kill what ever institutions Somaliland had prior that. Since that day , no one would be able to put back the tribal genei inside the box. Now it is in the open. THey coordinated with future Shabaab terrorist like Ahmed Godane and friends and bombed the Hargeisa palace where Rayaale resided . Dozens died, but Rayaale survived. Still that was not enough for him to win the the coming election. He needed the support of West Hargeisa community that were mostly behind Dahir Rayaale. in order to switch that support to Siilaanyo, the criminal elements of the Kulmiye party went to work. THey revived disputed farm lands in Ceel Berdaale around Gabiley between the Dilla community and Gabiley community. Rwanda style radio inciter Dhuxul and others in Horyaal radio called for revenge against Rayaale and his community in order to get the farms . Few days later Kulmiye party operatives led by a known criminal and a killer who already killed people inside mosques in Wajaale area. With The help of renegade soldiers they put checkpoints between Dilla-Gabiley road . After letting go those who were related with the Kulmiye candidate C/raxman Zaylici clan , they kidnapped four men from Awdal and took them to the forest. They shot them and cut their bodies. Army chief , warlord Nuux Tani , has to beg them to release the body. That conflict and its after matter destroyed any good will between Rayaale and west Hargeisa community, At the end 90% of them voted for Siilaanyo. Those who kill and murder innocent people to gain power usually end up in a disaster. Stroke hit Siilaanyo days before election and never recovered to enjoy the power. The man behind that plot , Muuse Biixi , is now in charge, and I can assure that he will end up in disaster sooner or later. In 2015, just few years before the election, Wadani party was pushing to get support from the east Burco community, especially in Sanaag area and Burco. The same criminals elements started their plot and innocent people were murdered in cold blood. A Nomadic conflict with no resources to fight had broken between the two brotherly neighbors. That conflicts drags on till this day with no end site. Now, men of goodwill from east Burco, had seen the light and want to sit down with their neighbors and fix their disagreements. The biggest problem is that harmony among these two communities is bad news for Muuse and the Jeegaan alliance. Hargeisa is shaking and fools like Cali Warancade was even dispatched to denounce this Shir. Buurmadow had spoken and said, Muuse and others had meeting with west Burco and others to resolve their issues . He insisted that sitting with their neighbors and sorting out their internal problems should not be something that alarms the Hargeisa establishment( Waar ma dadka aanu deriska nahay lama hadli kartaan ayaad na leedihiin") WE are all aware that Muuse and Hargeisa oligarchs will dump east Burco for sure. It is not if, but when. Some say that he must ride that horse one more time during the incoming parliamentary election and after that he will switch and find a middle ground with the GX in order to rule comfortably with few remaining years. Today another minister joined the fray and demanded UAE revoke the temporary residence visa it gave to Boqor Buurmadow. In his twitter , he describes the Boqor as the enemy of the state by calling tribal harmony. Buurmadow also accuses the government of arresting those who supposed to capture the outlaws who committed the murders in Sanaag. He said, in both cases, those he sent to arrest and inform the authority for their location of the outlaws were arrested. He believes that the government is an obstacle for peace in the region. Yey, for the government, rapprochement between these two clans seems to be a death warranty for their monopoly of power. Besides, this is a normal thing in Somaliland. Tribal cards are usually a one time use phone card ( Mar haddi la xoqdo way dhamaatay). Cigaal used AWdalites against the east and GX in the nineties, now Muuse had used east Burco and he needs another life line to survive. It is the throat cut tribal politics of Somaliland. Who knows, Muuse might even ditch the whole east and build another false alliance and ride the useless and unrepentant Awdalites who never learn anything despite been burned few times. The East Burco community find themselves in conflict zones both in SAnaag and Sool. Just before Siilaanyo left the office they pushed him to find some kind of understanding between them and Khaatumo in order to avoid a constant conflict with their maternal cousins. Muuse had scrapped all those efforts and Cali Khaliif was humiliated along with proff. Samatar. If these conflicts drag on they will be the primary victims while Borama and Hargeisa is peaceful. Furthermore, SAnaag and even Togdheer, to some extent , are dying economically and declining population wise. Even before the curfew Sanaag was losing people who migrate to weast and their economy is non existent. A friend told me that Ceerigaabo, the largest town in the east, is slowly dying. A plot of land in downtown Ceerigaabo could not even fetch $3000 dollars , while similar lot will be 40,000 in Hargeisa and 20,000 in Borama. Even the divided city of Burco is losing people to Hargeisa. On the other hand , it is an African story where everyone goes to the seat of power. Just like Cigaal before him, Muuse is concentrating his efforts between Berbera--Hargeisa --Wajaale corridor, and Djibouti to some extent. In 2000, Cigaal warned NGO's not to pass east of Sheikh town due to security risks. Faysal Waraabe, the chairman of UCID , openly said that " there is nothing in Sanaaag, and no one will miss them if they keep making mischief". He too will lose if these two groups settle. While Sanaag is rich with natural resources and minerals no one will be developing due to the conflict between East and West Burco. For these any many reasons, it is very important for these neighbors to find common ground and ditch the blood sucking Hargeisa mafia who are taking advantage of the quarrel among brothers. Despite claiming to be a victim , Hargeisa will probably pay all the crimes it has committed throughout the years. Now, every stone will be moved to prevent peace. Just like the mob trying to kill the " witness for the prosecution" Hargeisa oligarchs will do anything to keep the war among brothers. This is dark ugly politics of Hargeisa , so desperate to prevent harmony. Who would have thought that peace among the people will be detrimental to others. Every man and woman of goodwill must work hard to organize and hold this convention of peace in Burco. Xaaji Aadan Afqalooc said: Dirxigaba Qudhunku uma uree wuu quutaaye.
  2. I do not understand why these fools keep flying to Kenya. Waar Bi' waaye meeshu xashkii maahine timaha ciida ka ceshada. Nin soori qaaday waa nin seefi qaaday.
  3. Sister, You can say what even you want and even kick me if you want. What else can I say about Somali women who are above and beyond others than " Gobsana Hablahayagu.
  4. He was also ambassador in Djibouti for three years. Unlike the third rate diplomats we used to see in Somalia UN envoys , this guy is a real career diplomat who has the backing of the USA.
  5. Barwaaqo, "Qaali Dumar" our favorite sister in SOL had joined " Canaasiira" who like to needle me in the vein from time to time. It looks like nineteen eighties , all the Somali alphabet movements are joining hands. WAxaad moodaa in Jabhadihii qaranka dumiyey ay isgaashaan buuraysanayaan : SNM, SSDF, USC and SPM. Allow sahal amuuraha.
  6. Waa la is dhacayaa. Soomaaliyeey Xoolahaaga meel gayso. Before it is too late , Somalis must move their money to back home.
  7. If Sheekh Yusuf Indhacade was in charge of certain region we would be all calling him warlord, yet you give pass top Madoobe. The era of warlords masquerading as genuine leaders is over.
  8. where do I start? OO, I know you like Djibouti but as a city state , it is too small to accomodate tens of thousands of foreign staff and their logistic needs. The whole Djibouti hotel and business infrastructure is based on few blocks in " Guutka" . they do not have airports or other amenities.. One thing we all agree. We are definitely all Soogalooti including me. A Somali is Somali regardless of where he was born. What bugs me is that we went Kenya, Djibouti and other places because there were other Somalis residing there. You are the one trying to kick other Somalis from Kenya and confiscate their business.
  9. At the moment, Kenya is in credit crunch. There is no money in the treasury due to corruption and tax evasion. The current government, which has left only few years before its term ends, had started a campaign to collect more taxes and introduce tough tax measures. Everyone in the region is looking how efficient Rwanda became and they all want to copy and implement. But, in Rwanda, Paul Kagame had started from the scratch and succeeded after hard work. Today, Kigali is called a little Chicago in terms of business and efficiency. Now, how could a president whose term is ending soon would be able to implement this huge tax reform at this stage. They have arrested the head of the national revenue agency and others were accused of corruption. They are investigating tax returns of five years ago retro effectively and they started raiding business and private accounts. They have frozen a lot of accounts. Due to these moves private and business people are withdrawing large amounts money of before it is taken over by the state. Confidence in financial security is going down. The moment the government decides to raid account , all will crumple. Foreign currency and cash is leaving Kenya en mass. Business confidence will evaborate and people will seek alternative save countries. Folks, Kenya is in trouble. To make matters worse, President Uhuru Kenyatta , just like the dictators next door, is trying to change the constitution by changing the two term limits. His vice president William Ruto has been implicated in corruption and other malfeasances. So, Kenya will be facing both political and economic problems sooner than we might think. When Somalia finance minister C/raxman Bayle told Somalis to bring their money, it wasn't just figurative speech , but a well founded fear of Somali assets in real danger. Somalis are not even first or second in terms of hard currency and wealth, but others are feeling the pressure already. These moves by Kenya might be a blessing in disguise for many Somalis. If large Somali wealth is repatriated back to Somalia, it might change the economic situation of the country. If Mogadishu is not safe, then go to Borama, Garoowe, Hargeisa and other places, and start something. The world is changing and Somalis must build their own than constantly roaming around like a nomad. Greed is dangerous and might destroy Kenya if they do not change. Uhuru want to be a king and rule another 20 years , and that greed will bring down the Kenyans. Folks, this is not partisan or political commentary from my side, it is the latest Kenyan problems that is happening as we speak.
  10. These guys think they are the only Somalis in Kenya. Guys , there are millions of Somalis from Mandhera to Wajeer and lake Turkana who are not all Apophis and company. If there is anyone who crossed the border it is Ahmed Madoobe and his Liyu.
  11. Folks, this is a reliable news from Halane compound. In other words , it is from the horse's mouth. A friend of mine just landed yesterday From Mogadishu by way of Addis Ababa Bole international. He works with donors and he resides in Halane. I didn't even want to wait a day or two and have the Aftir together and . Since I am having Kenyan blues kately, I decided to get the whole info through the phone. Here is the main points of our conversation. Galbeedi: How come this time you have to fly through Addis than your usual Nairobi route ? Halane: My agency usually rents the UN owned airlines which charges double than the private airlines in order to keep the UN fleet sustainable. Since Kenya announced visa requirements and other restrictions many of our staff had decided to fly through Addis. This is the second time I went through Addis and I really enjoyed. Galbeedi: How about other agencies like the world Bank, EU and others. Halane: Actually for the first time the World Bank held a training for Somali bank staff in Addis last week and others were planning to follow suit. It won't take much for other agencies to move quickly to Addis. The only group that has to find long term is the UN operation and their aviation hubs. Galbeedi: How about Somali ministries and other agencies that have ongoing contacts with the international community? Halane: There is already contingency plan from Somali agencies and ministries from education, healthcare, women' issues and other capacity building efforts by the international community to address and plan this issues. THey told the agencies that since Kenya doesn't allow most of these contacts had to be moved to other IGAD countries and within Somalia. So far, the best place is Addis Ababa. The Ethiopian capital is already an international city with welcoming culture and great familiarity for Somalis and international community staff. There are more direct flights from Addis to the world vthan Kenya. Galbeedi: In this fight , If the Kenyans could lose more than the Somalis, why do it in the first place? Halane: THey did miscalculate big time. THey even tried dirty tricks and low blow moves in order to escalate the issue. Reliable people told me that it was Kenyan paid European hackers who infiltrated the Ethiopian foreign ministry website and annexed Somalia from the map in order to create hostility between Somalia and Ethiopia. THere ametuer shenanigans are visible from a far distance. THey even sent people to Hargeisa and said Uhuru, dads boy , will visit Hargeisa at the end of the year. Kenyans airlines are losing money already. Galbeedi: Yet, so far Somalia didn't retaliate against these moves. why not? Halane: Somalia is acting like a mature adult in this saga , but, quitely hitting Kenya where it hurts. If Somalia imposes visa requirements before point of entry, it will make the international agencies and the flying public difficult to plan things. Government agencies already told their partners to set up their meetings somewhere else. Soon the the Meru Qat trade will be blocked. THey can sabre rattle as much as they want , but Somalia is using it's weapons gradually to inflict tough blows. Galbeedi: Do you believe like most of us that the whole issue is all about the Sea dispute and international court? Halane: yes and no. The sea dispute is part of the Kenyan grievances and they want Somalia to bring back the dispute back to African union. Neither Farmaajo nor anyone else could bring back the case. There are also larger issues in the region that may weaken Kenya in the future. The Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea future political and economic alliances are shifting the geopolitics of the regions from the Bantu side of east Africa ( that were his words not mine, usually I do not like using Bantu or looking down any human being) to the Cushitic side of the Horn. Besides, the economic growth that is expected in the horn is centred in Somalia and Ethiopia. In other words, Ethiopian an tapped population and the business know how of the Somalis. So, they trying to chew more than they can. Galbeedi: You did visit Kismaayo last month with members of the donor community. Tell me about the city and people. Halane: You know you and I hail from Western Somalia to Jigjiga and there are certain western ( Galbeedi) accent we share from those who come from Godey, Qalaafe and Somali zone in general. To my surprise, all the people at the hotels and other places I had met had Galbeedi and OG accent of Somali zone. I haven't heard any Jubba area accent. Anyway, everyone was friendly and the city was safe compared to Mogadishu.. Galbeedi: what do you think the fate of warlord Ahmed Madoobe?, is it the end of the rope for him or is he a survivor? Halane: The Farmaajo government had mobilized the local people of Kismaayo. There are no Gedo candidates this time but local native OG and others are empowered to oust him. Traditionally, Somalis do not re-elect leaders and Madoobe is not an exception. All of the other candidates are opposed Madoobe. He doesn't have any alliance. Most of the men who took over Kismaayo were either trained by Kenya or were members of Cabdi Illey Liyu police. THey might be tough , but are disliked by the local people. The time has come for the local Somalis regardless of clan to choose their leaders. Unfortunately for him, he is neither from KIsmaayo, Qooqaani, Gedo or Bu'ale. Galbeedi: how about if he refuses to hold and open election or refuses the verdict ? Halane: The international community had told him already about holding free election and the Somali government had issues guidelines for the regional election. He gas no choice but to hold an open free election or economic sanctions will cripple him. Kenya is pushing him to confront the federal government. Galbeedi: do the regional governments been squeezed by Farmaajo or it is the other way around? Halane: It is all about money and who controls that money. The regional governments had appealed to the American ambassador and other donors to receive aid money directly from the donors instead of through the federal government. Despite the fake promises made by the donors, the Somali government drew a redline and told that everything must go through them. Last week, Puntalnd leader Deni was told by the donors to do their process and needs through the government. That is why he is talking tough this weak. Galbeedi: I know you support the government, but do you think this reclusive guy Farmaajo is turning the tide against the Kenyans and other foreign nations? Halane: Government policies both economically and geopolitics take shape slowly. It is difficult for the regular people to notice, but Somalia is gaining traction in the world stage and the region. The international community sees Somalia as a nation that had survived through thick and thin. I know you are Ethiopia phopic but real cooperation will bear real fruit soon. People had to be patient. That is all folks. Hearing this stories made my day . I think we have cornered the Kenyans and might even defeat them without even firing a bullet.
  12. As this candidate said, bring the Burundi forces from Middle Shabeelle
  13. Cirro doesn't need to be a unionist at the moment. . He is the future leader of the Somali region. Time is on his side. He doesn't need anybody's permission to meet Farmaajo and talk as the leader in waiting. In 2017 before the election he met Farmaajo who had slim chance of winning and discussed about the future. Certainly it was the Cirro clan that started the SNM and started the whole thing, and the time has come for them to come home and finish what they started 40 years ago.
  14. Carro Daanood is just across the border to Mudug. They used to call Wardheer region but politics geot of the way these days.
  15. Ethiopia , a nation of " nations and nationalities " has no business of encouraging the dismemberment of Somalia. If there is any nation that has to disintegrate in the 21st century, it is the Yugoslavia of Africa --Ethiopia. I don't understand why Somalis worry about Kenya or Ethiopia ro recognize Somaliland. If there is anyone in Africa to disintegrate, it is Nigeria, Ethiopia ,and Kenya. Have you seen former Nigerian president OLusegun Obasanjo coming to HArgeisa and some fools even thought he came for " Aqoonsi". Nigeria was the nation who put down the Biafra separatists in south west of their country. He and others were working hard to keep Nigeria together for decades. British Somaliland came to a being after the versailles treaty of 1919 when borders between colonies were settled. By 1940, the Italians overrun and took over everything. By 1941-1948/50, Somali territories from Zaylac to Gaarisa and Jigjiga was ruled by the British. For most Somalis it was colonials chasing one another. So, Somaliland was ruled as a legal protectorate from 1919-1940, merly 21 years. In 1950 after the SYL opted for Italian rule and refused to be under British administrative mandate, the British started to curve up the land and had given a huge chunk of the protectorate to the king in 1954. There was even a real fear among the leaders that the rest of the protectorate might be given to the king. That is why the union was important. Anyway, a couple of dozen elders in Burco in 1991, can not change the map of the republic that is recognized and approved by national referendum 50 oday oo Burco ku shiray burburkii wadanka ka dib, ma bedeli karaan kharrirrada caanka ee Somalia.. There is difference between annexation and disintegration. THe fact is Ethiopia can not survive the way it is today. Their leaders rightly believe that a larger union in the region could be the only way to keep Ethiopia together. THat is despite our good relationship with the Ethiopian leadership, a good Somali leader must always plot to dismember Ethiopia. My God , we have so many weapons to make Ethiopia like Yugoslavia. All you need is Few millions and some trained spooks. Ayagaan kala diri lahaa.
  16. Well , there won't be any village if there is no country. That is the colonial game every nomad fighting for useless village. In 1991 Kenya had slam dwellers and farmers. The native Kenyans including the Somali Suju were not running any major industry or business let alone banking , import and export. IIt was dominated by Indians and other Asians and Europeans . in 2002 when they agitated for change , Daniel Arab Moi told that if Somalin style chaos come in Kenya, " You will dying like a cattle". They get rich of the Somali refugees. We sent billions of dollars and spent in Kenya. We taught them how to do business. We even gave some boost for the dormant Somali Kenyans . So be proud and stop worshipping the Kikuyo. I had Aftir last weekend with a good teacher who just came from Mogadishu and while talking about the Mogadishu problems, he told us about a conversation he had with the Turkish ambassador. He said , " the ambassador inquired and somewhat worried about Somalis expelling foreign nations" He continued, " you expelled the British (1963 after the annexation of NFD), America downgraded after the October revolution, and the Russians in 1977, and now the Emirates " He said I told him that As a friend , Somalia will fight and die with you, but if you look them down or show any slight of not being equal to you, they ditch you with New York Minutes. KIds teaching me how the world works. Saaxiib, thanks for the compliment. Anyway, it is all about what scientists call critical mass thing. We throw more of these to the world stage and might stick. who knows?.. Besides, no Gedo clan candidate is running. Why you guys have to make your bed with a warlord that his time had come to end. Falling Somali clans always back the wrong horse in critical times without thinking. During the C/laahi Yusuf government some HAG guys put their eggs on MUuse Suudi to challenge the government. Why not make the issue easy for everyone and let Madoobe loin Shariif Sakiin, Xaaf and others who must allow a new future?. If Somalis had to choose between OG Kenyan officers and Reer Gedo, we will side with the Gedo Somalis. THat is very simple.
  17. Eritrea is too small to challenge Turkey, but if Djibouti is willing to do little heavy lifting In am for it. Both Kenya and Ethiopia are no no in terms of deploying troops. It is a well known geopolitics around the world. You can't allow front states that share borders with you to deploy their troops. Besides, both the Kenyans and Madoobe troops stay in one city and few other towns. THe Somali army might just do that with little heavy mechanized trucks. THe Kenyans overplayed their hand and must never be allowed to stay. It is over.
  18. It is just misplaced fear. Besides, Jubbland is not their country and sooner or later they must withdraw. Farmaajo must kick the Kenyans out before his term is finished. That process of replacing them must start now. The Somali parliament must push a resolution to remove the Kenyans. Put 2000 Eritreans soldiers in Kismaayo, certainly they will do better than the Kenyans because Eritrean soldiers ten times tougher and fearless than the Kenyan cowards who now became contraband merchants. Debating and posting in these forum for the last few years had made me realize that those who are elected to run the country have a mandate and must be allowed the impliment their agenda. When they transgress we must speak loudly but they have a mandate to set their agenda including the future of Amisom . Ha Ina dhaafaan.
  19. I have already did. A friend of mine who has a job of writing diplomatic dispatches better than anyone or I should say , writes more like our own OODweyne and Tllamook is taking the task of making a good case for relocation of both the UN and EU offices from the Nairobi. MIda kale, waar Kenyaati baanu is haynaaye maxaa adiga kaa galay , Miyaad shaqo kale raadsatind. Waar ilayn aduunyadan anagaa aragnay.
  20. I just saw a travel advisory from government of Canada concerning Kenya. It reads: " exercise a high degree of caution in Kenya due to the threat of terrorism and high crimes" This foreign affaires bulletin was issued May 22, 2019. There was also a tweet by Adrian Bloomfield asking the EU to make arrangements if the childish behaviour of the Kenyans continue. Nairobi and Kenya are the third largest United Nations operations base after New York and Geneva. Billions of dollars are spent for various UN operations from South Sudan, Congo, Somalia, Ethiopia and the whole rift valley region. Somali members of parliament spend 3/4 of every month in Kenyan hotels and f keep enriching the aviation industry of Kenya. Since the Somali elites of both political and business can't spend the money they looted at home, Kenya is the las Vegas of the Somalis flying the weekend to Nairobi. Also, the EU bureaucrats do not want to take back the dough sitting in Nairobi to Brussels. The Kenyans had already lost the lucrative tourism business when they decided to occupy Jubba on the pretext of defeating Al-shabaab. Their soldiers are secluded in bases in and around Kismaayo port were they trade contraband goods and the eco sensitive caol. Encouraged By the Obama government, a nation whose soldiers never fired a bullet went to war. Obama is long gone but they still want to play in the big leagues by acting like an angry child. The conflict between the Sons of the old rivals ( Odinga and Kenyatta) had cooled off lately but could ignite any time when another election is called. The UNited Nations can not risk its operations in the region due to games of the Kenyan amateurs . Many of us believe that the time has come for the UN to move to a more politically stable country like Tanzania. Due to the high terrorism and other conflict issues can not sustain a stable operations in Kenya. Due to their inferiority complex , Kenyans might even embark a very dangerous and vigilante justice type of actions and try to rob the Somali businesses just like the Soweto and Johannesburg of South Africa. These lootings might create a war between the Somalis and the Kenyans, which will affect the whole region. Also, it is expected that the Kenyans might not accept the ruling on the Sea by the international court due anytime.. Despite its weakness and instability, Somalia is forced to enforce the law and defend its water from the Kenyans to either try to fish or explore hydrocarbons. This current Kenyan government could be a threat to the whole region just like Al-shabaab and others. Another issue that a lot of international media ignores is the original terrorism and bombing in the region had originated from Kenya and the Sawahili speaking region. The men who had blown the Daresalam and Nairobi American embassies in 1998b were Sawahili speakers and was led by a man Named Salah Al Nabyan. Some even believe that he was the man who created the coastal branch of Al-shbaab which was the original one before the rest joined the Islamic courts. In fact, most of the Al-shabaab elements that is causing havoc in the Kenyan today originate from the coastal regions of Lamu, Mombasa and other regions. These groups will exist even if Al-shbaab is defeated in Somalia. The United Nations must have a contingency plans to move their massive multi billion operation to another country. In my opinion, since Ethiopia it self is going a transition to democracy , the best place is Tanzania. I even suspect that a UN operation as large as this might already had plans and contingency just in case. If the angry Kenyan kid want to take the ball and a go home, then others have to find their own ball and keep playing.
  21. Somalia lead lawyer was A Somali lady. That is the difference. The Kenyans can do anything without the so called Muzungus. Somali pilots were flying Jumbo jets as early as 1972 where it was impossible. to see an African pilot.
  22. I agree . It is all about the sea. I was one of those who opposed the auctioning of the oil blocks last year. My main concern was that I thought it was premature for oil drilling while the country is not save security wise. Yet, looking at the reactions of the Kenyans It is worth to start the process . Others had argued that since oil exploration and extractions take longer , we might as well start the process. Somali parliament had passed already the necessary rules for petroleum extraction. As our Maakhiri1 friend said while ago: Drill baby drill. The rigs could come as early as next spring or summer. In the meantime we have to prepare to kick the Kenyans out of Jubbaland. Train the the Somali pirates as a navy and chase the Kenyans out of the sea. The Kenyan millenials were even talking about the pirates blocking the sea. Budhcad badeedi ayey na xasuusiyeen. Since I am a revolutionary , for me, this would have been a pretext for war against Kenyans in Jubbaland. Defeating and kicking them by force would have been a good moral boost for all Somalis. Siyaad Barre should have started the war of 1977 in Kenya. It would have been a cake walk and warning to others. If Farmaajo want an easy re-election, he must give 90 days for the Kenyans to withdraw from Jubba, and if they ignore the call, then mobilize the Somalis and attack them. Sometimes, I do not understand how foolish these Kenyans are. You occupying a parcel of Somalia and you are antagonizing Somalis. Heck, we have been looking for ean nemy for the last 10 years to transfer our anger other than the other tribes. THis could unite the Somalis. Ummaddu Cadaw ay iskaga jeesato ayey u baahan tahay ee Kukuuyada ku jeedi. In the meantime , a lot of Somali Kenyans who were pretending to be Somali nationalists have to answer a lot of questions. If the plan of Kenya all along had been to create a buffer zone and then annex, then Faarah Macalin who whose party under Odinga invaded must come clean.
