  1. After the election of Galmudug, the federal government must allow them to manage their affairs and should not interfere again.
  2. Good job. Ilaahay Ummad ma bedelo Ilaa iyagu bedelaan qalbigooda. This reconciliation and and agreements in Galmudug is straightening the unity of the Somali people.
  3. Yes, he was the intelligence chief who replaced Getachew Asefa. This is a great move by Abiy. A loyal Amhara .
  4. Even Showa is Oromo land today. The TPLF could be rehabilitated if they stop hindering the reform. Eritrea in the North and the rest of Ethiopia in the South Tigray can't go anywhere at the moment.
  5. The TPLF are photoshopping to spread propaganda. Actually, general Asaminew was a member of those who opposed the Derg. in late eighties. Besides how 28 years old photo is similar to current picture of the general. The Ethiopia of 1970/80 or even 90 will not come back. Despite their education, sophistication and history, Amhara can't reverse the federal Ethiopia of today. The Oromo territory has borders on every region except the Tigray. If Abiy is not allowed to proceed with his reform , the Amhara can kiss good by to Ethiopia. We know Abiy is danger because he is dismantling the Northern highlanders hegemony on power. Today, he needs a strong anti Amhara leader in the Somali state, and with support of Afar, Southern nations, Benshaguli-Gomez and some reform minded Amhara in Addis , he could win easily. I know some Somalis want the old Ethiopia to come back for survival reasons, but that dream is dead. I never thought in million years, the Northern highlanders will be cordoned in their area. Both the Amhara and the Tigray are landlocked. Unlike Somalis, Oromo, Afar, and others they do not have access to regions with sea access.
  6. I don't think you have enough passengers to go three cities. It will be mostly Garowe, and Boosaaso will be few times a week until you build trade and other commercial connections.
  7. If this town gets just two years of peace, it will surpass everything Somalis did for the last 25 years.
  8. Xaaf has done the right thing. He made a mistake when he trusted the evil Ehlu Shaytaan by giving them everything a year ago including a prime ministerial job for the Suufi guy. Along the way , he made some mistakes when he became the spokesman of the regional government during the dispute of the gulf. Puntland used him and had thrown him out when it became too hot for them. Despite his past , he is a Somali elder and must be allowed to retire with his pensions. I heard that foxy man Mr. Candulaahi Deni had got some deals through the federal government that will bring business and cash to Puntalnd. Aviation minister Oomar and the federal government had helped Puntalnd to get direct flights from Addis which will also bring Qat directly from Ethiopia so Deni can tax and make some cash. The Addis-Garowe flight of Ethiopia airlines will will allow Puntalnd, Galmudug, and Sool diaspora from EU and North America directly to Garowe without passing through Hargeisa or even Mogadishu.
  9. Anyway, As I said before, this Khayre guy is very confident, and he will not be going anywhere until we cash in the oil in the Indian ocean.
  10. We have to ask the people back home. We diaspora had lost a lot of Somali vocabulary. Maybe Mr. Coofle of SOL would know. For me the closest would be " Maanguurin"
  11. Mr. Janan is negotiating on behalf of Ahmed Madoobe. The exit strategy of Ahmed Madoobe is in full force. I think it will be a nice handshake which will allow him to live either in Nairobi or Dubai for a while. If I were Farmaajo, I would have appointed Ahmed Madoobe as the minister of defense or some kind of national security post. As a tough man he could crush the insurgents in Mogadishu and surrounding area.
  12. Are we the only people who fall and couldn't get up. Nations travel through rivers and mountains until they become mature and stable. I don't know when we developed this mentality of never forgetting and living always with regret. Our nomadic culture has always been characterized as tough and resilient. We used to bury our dead and exercise patience while willing tomorrow for better day. It was one of the best qualities along our generosity and fearlessness. This so called government thing is foreign to us. It supposed to improve the lives of the people and provide security and comfort, yet we transformed it as means of enriching the tribe and live off of the poor people. We keep celebrating villages where even the biggest one doesn't have basic water. Waar an ooye albaabka ii xidha.
  13. It was the " Bluugle" that was raised in Hargeisa 26 june 1960. Subsequent years that followed , especially the first nine years, men , women , young and old used to go " Beerta Xoriyada" to take part of the " Bandhiga Calan saarka" Not only people used to party until midnight , but those who feel sick or anxious were taken to the party: Waar way bugtaaye bandhiga geeya ayaa la odhan jiray. History couldn't be changed because of the growing pains of nations who go through wars, quarrels and other calamities of life.
  14. There’s no even a simple pully system to bring up the water. It must be done by hand. Ridiculous. I agree with both of you guys. We are living they way people lived 2000 years ago. You might find a town with tens of thousands of people and no one knows hot to change a nut and bolt. Cities are filled with land cruisers and false universities where everyone graduates as a clerk to work for non existent office work. Every hotel in Mogadishu has Kenyan technician to fix the light and the air condition. Yet, I can't blame the wandering nomads if there is no one to introduce them these methods. Usually, it is the ruling class, the business community and the government that introduces these technical know hows. If You a make the countryside rich and valuable they could afford themselves to bring these mechanical things themselves. A man with 50 goats should live comfortably. As Talaabo said, The person who supposed to help is "those who are in a position of responsibility will consume it selfishly"
  15. When I heard the news about a meeting in Kenya, I said, how stupid is the Farmaajo government to host these talks in Kenya. Either they realized the last minute how awkward this is going to be considering the Kenyan feud and canceled, or Somaliland officials leaking the meeting to the media without confirmation from Somali government. Maxaa Kenya geynaya. Go Turkey or other places.
  16. Why not give the millions of dollars allocated for the ministry of water resources to Amoud foundation. Certainly the people of Somaliland will have water across the land. $152 million spent in Hargeisa water project alone.
  17. Here 2 million meals in Kismaayo during Ramadan. Bottom, water wells in Sanaag.
  18. Above, one of the 20 wells they dug throughout Somaliland. Here congresswoman Ilhan Omar for Amoud foundation.
  19. I agree . 1/3 (Hararghe) of the Oromo will always be our allies despite some land disputes. AS you said, the Amhara are really ruthless and intolerant. OO, is there any tendency among the Amhara to separate if they can't get the old unitarian Ethiopia?.
  20. Why he doesn't leave the stage like the others to manage the Puntalnd affaires.
  21. Herman J. Cohen‏ @CohenOnAfrica "Failed coup in #Ethiopia's Amhara state was an attempt by ethnic nationalists to restore Amhara hegemony over all of Ethiopia that existed for several centuries prior to 1991. That dream is now permanently dead." I heard the same thing. A friend of mine told me that an Amhara wo-worker told him that about 1500 Amhara notables had been detained since the failed coup. It is now or never. Abiy must crush the Amhara for good. It is the only way . Also , Abiy must investigate whether the Saudi and UAE despots are behind some of the Amhara political activities. They and Amhara are both against freedom and open society. Abiy needs to reform and change the current configuration of EPRDF immediately. Somalis and Afars must be added in equal numbers like the rest of the four groups. If voting comes, Somali, Afar, Oromo will vote for him and gain majority easily. Furthermore, Mustafe Cagjar must be very careful. No one appreciates his unitarian Amhara talks in the media. We might even need a tough Somali in our Kilil who confronts the Amhara head on.
  22. At peak production, Hibernia, in Newfoundland , Canada can produce 220,000 barrels of oil a day. The platform sits atop an enormous gravity base structure (GBS) that sits on the ocean floor. The GBS is specially designed to withstand the impact of sea ice and icebergs, and can hold 1.3 million barrels of crude oil in its 85-metre high caisson. The Indian Ocean doesn't have any sea ice or icebergs.
  23. Well, you do not need to secure KIsmaayo , Baraawe or Hobyo. The Indian Ocean is safe. Small frigate can patrol the whole area to fend off pirates. Turkey just sent a drilling ship off of the Cypress coast for drilling. It doesn't take much.
