  1. Waa shirkii waraabaha. This is the gathering of the old guard, failed politicians and warlords like Sharrif Hassan. Cabdikarim from Galmudug had failed within a year while he was the interior minister. THen he couldn't survive even two years as the leader of Galmudug.. If these characters are the new allies of Madoobe, please go ahead by all means. Kenyana waxaan leeyahay bal aynu eegno cida caano ka daataan. Reer Galmudug doesn't know their own interest. With Farmaajo at the helm, they could get a port, and a vibrant region , but with Hassan Sheikh and Puntlanders, they will be out of the power center completely. Beware of what you wish.
  2. The Oromo will rule for years to come or Ethiopia will be just like Yugoslavia or worse Rwanda. Former Oromia leader Lemma Magrasa and the current defence minister said that either Abiy will do his reforms and rule or will be disintegration and chaos. The ugly Amhara will get their own medicine if they keep pushing. THey are landlocked in Amhara region and soon Addis (Finfine) will be demographically Oromo, Guraghe and others including Somalis. The Amhara better be quiet and get to the program. Oromo are 45% of the population, coupled with Affae, Somali, Benshenguli, Guraghe and others will win any election hands down. When I was in Ethiopia, I talked to Oromo, Amhara, Guraghe, Harari, Tigre and others, and everyone except the Wayaane wanted to keep the country together. Believe me, despite the ethnic clashed and the sporadic communal violence, our faith and destiny is connected with Oromo. If they lose we will all lose, so, Mr.Somali nomad, follow your own interest for your own sake.
  3. It is an acceptable for the elite to do as they wish while prosecuting common citizens for traveling to Mogadishu. It is a good move by Muuse Biixi.
  4. Muuse Biixi waa in uu jeelka dhigaa Faysal iyo cida Kismaayo u tahriibta. Madaama aysan toos uga duuli karin Hargeisa to Kismaayo, waa in ay Nairobi sii maraan.
  5. I guess it was in 2011, in Hargeisa and Borama sipping tea under nice shade. The day Mogadishu becomes peaceful will be a great victory for Somalis. The people there probably don't even know how peace looks like.
  6. Couple of years ago Shariif Ahned was asked why not live among your people in Mogadishu?. He said there are no enough Amisom tanks to ride in Mogadishu ( Waar Xamar Taangiga Amisom ayaa lagu joogaa, inaguma filna dhamaanteen). It is the first time in 28 years that former Somali presidents sitting out in the open without fear. Is is a good sign. I wish every Somali leader would live among the people and add his good sense to the nation. I do not remember the last time i sat under a nice tree with 25 celsius weather.
  7. The Saudis should come to Somalia. We might save them from the Houthis. With air power all they need is tough soldiers.
  8. The Amhara Orthodox Church is losing power and prestige. Just like the Ukrainians church separated from the Russian church, the Oromo want their own church separate from the Amharic speaking hierarchy. The idea of Amharic priest being in charge of church services in Amharic is over, people want their own language.. It was Abiy Ahmed who reconciled the divided Orthodox church with one living in exile , yet they blame him of these these changes. The Ahmara cannot understand that freedom means people will choose their own faith leaders without their consent. Also, the protestant Oromo segment is getting bigger due to their connections with America. The selfish actions of these backward Amhara colonial tactics will lead to Rwanda style genocide if they do not lower their incitement. The old Ethiopia led by highlanders from the North is over.
  9. Oday gooni, Dhawr arrimood baa laga yaabaa in nimankan odayaasha ah ku kaliftay in ay caabo shubka Kismaayo doontaan. Waa aragtidayda. Gawshu sidaan haday ku socoto oo ciidanku guulo keeno, Hassan iyo Shariif hawshu way ku adkaanaysa. 2-Waxa laga yaabaa Imaaraadku in uu xulafadiisii hawl galiyey Kismaayana noqotay muran wax lagu kiciyo. WAxa afka qalaad lagu yidhaahdo, " wedge issue". Arrin xasaasiyad abuurta oo dadka xulafooyin u kala saarta. Rag badan ayay Kismaayo iske keentay from Hargeisa illa Nairobi. Mida kale tan Shariif leeyahay Baarlamaankii wuu aamusay, miyaanu ogayn awalba mooshinka iyo wax bedelku baarlamaanka kama imaanayn ee Madaxweynaha ayaa ragiisa ito dumarkiisa soo kicin jiray si ay u tuuraan raiisul wasaaraha madaxweynuhu tuurayo. Baarlamaanku hadaan gadaal laga karbaashin hoteelkiisuu iska jiifi. Jeneral Gabrihii igaadhsan jiray kuwa dawlada diidana imika majoogo.
  10. You know why I respect Tilamook? he is not emotional about politics like most of us. Sometimes, it seems he been there done that. Tolow ma ragii Madaxweyne C/laahi Allah ha naxariiste Mogadishu u raacay baa. Just wondering.
  11. This president of Somalia not only spoke fluently the language of the world, English, but also spoke with the tone of the modern world. He said" no one should be left alone in the age of interconnectivity and dependence", he spoke about sustainable development of reducing poverty in Somalia. Furthermore he outlined the security efforts of the Somali army and their African partners, and last but not the least , he touched the dispute with Kenya. While baby Uhuru still begging Farmaajo to bring the case from the court, Farmaajo insisted that only the IC would decide and Somalia would abide. Guys, sometimes, there is substance over style. I think we must applaud and thank the speech writer who really presented the Somali case to the world.
  12. Allah ha u Naxariistee, Siyaad died long ago. In fact, it is you guys who are obsessed with him and the events that took place 30 or more years ago. This president must be treated like those before him. When he is correct and on the right path , he must be encouraged and when he transgresses he should scolded and criticised. actually, for the last two years, I didn't see any real progress like army rebuilding and security issues, and I was leaning of even kicking him out to salvage the last two years. Yet, this year, we have all seen real progress on many fronts. * Somali army is not only getting stronger but also confronting the enemy in many regions. * The presiege of the nation is getter better on the world stage. *Ethiopia who was the original ground for the weakening of the state is finally cooperating with the national government. * Somalia has survived the gulf quagmire unscratched. * for the first time in twenty years we have seen a president and prime minister finish their term and reverse the revolving door. * it is fair to give the prime minister with his loyalty and hard work. They still could do better by tackling the Mogadishu issue. Yet, some had put their hopes for his failure for misguided reasons. I am supporting openly now " Nabad iyo Nolol" because I see the same gangs who destroyed the nation coming from the woodworks to dismantle this gains. THere is a difference between overthrowing a regime and destroying a nation from coast to coast. I see the old rebels and the religious extremists combine forces to weaken the government.THere is a fear that this man and his team might succeed what many before him had failed. The JUbbaland issue is becoming a political window of the failed leaders of yesterday, especially Hassan Sheikh to instigate a campaign. Many including Faysal Waraabe had put their hopes on Hassan Sheikh. We have no choice but to defeat Madoobe and company to move forward.
  13. At the moment we are neither following the colonial one or the non existent indigenous one. Rule of law and institution building can be copied from the developed system of the west combined with our Islamic tradition. We are in the stages of sixties or seventies. You do not need to reinvent the wheel. What does it take the for a city to create tax base from the citizens and collect garbage and police the streets. The truth is there are no developed indigenous system within Somalia. If you are backward in civic , labour and tax rules in your community, it is not a shame to copy from the successful systems. Our problem is we are not even copying things correctly. In Somaliland we are using the nineteen seventy system of centralized rule were city council secretaries are appointed from the capital (communist headquarters). It is combination of money things that hinder the development of the system. Poverty, leadership and backward looking culture among them. The indigenous system could be successful in terms of peace building and reconciliation, but not institutional government system. Warsame, The guy could have a good point if he chooses to advance or pinpoint the " Mogadishu based" government system or the notion that dictates without Mogadishu there will not be a nation state. he could have a great point to expand on that argument. History has shown that a lot of sacrifices have been done by Somalis to pacify that town. Also to say that as long as Mogadishu isn't peaceful their will not be a Somali state is realy crime committed against Somalis. There are millions of Somalis who would welcome to be the national capital. THe latest bragging of former president who seem to be using the tribal position of the capital proves the writer's idea that Mogadishu isn't sacrosanct. Despite the unfair advantage and billions earned in Mogadishu , certain segments of the Mogadishu elite didn't get message and the feelings of others.Somali should be based the concept of one town--period. Also, the idea of Mogadishu taking hostage of the national agenda is debate its time has arrived. Remember, the provisional constitution does allow the relocation of the capital if the parliament agrees on it. As I said,, Mr. Ahmed has a point on that , but he mixes that with the argument of dismissing the Somali nation state. The Somali nation state isn't different than the rest of the world. Culture, history, religion , geography and many things tie people together. It is a shame that it took 30 years to put back the nation, but a combination of many things made the conflict drag on . Do not forget, we had a neighbor like Ethiopia who unleashed the worst of any Somali ideology: tribal, warlordism, criminals, religious extremists and secessionists. We have to thank God despite all this plots we are still standing. Also, before the arrival of the colonial system we are free and independent and confederate tribes each roaming his own land. Some had old histories like Adal or the Ajuuraan or other Northern Sultanates. What united us was the Somali state that made as unique people who should have a place among the nation states. If that Somali nation state is no longer there, then we must all go back to our old tribal confederates and be our own entity. I can assure you that if one region separates, the Somali state will disintegrate with the seven or eight more wannabe nations.
  14. There is a breaking news in the Arabian country. The new American ambassador in Saudi Arabia , John Abizaid is a Pentagon guy who is opposed to any new military adventure. Bin Salman Jr. might be deposed. Even Sisi could be ousted. The Pentagon doesn't want anymore to be hoodwinked by Necons or corrupt gulf boys. The UAE is going through internal quarrel. The Abu Dhabi ruling class had destroyed anu chances of Dubai and other Emirates to prosper again. The axis of evil: Netanyahu, Bin Zayd, Bin Salman Jt. and Trump could be history within a year. A second Arab spring is in the works. This time no one will be able stop
  15. For us either Ethiopia or Kenya doesn't make a difference. Our country suffered because of the actions of Meles and Mengistu. If Ethiopia cooperates with our government and stops dividing our country through regional governments, we will welcome. Kenya, as a more democratic country could be our friend, but we can't accept them to use Madoobe or anyone else as a proxy to undermine our government. For us Puntland or any region just a regional or local government, they have no business of setting foreign policy or how we have to deal with our neighbors. Have you seen the the Oromo leader coming to Garoowe or Mogadishu? no. L have nothing against JUbbaland, but I can't accept a former president trying to put fuel on fire. Jubbaland needs a new inclusive election. It doesn't need outsiders to aggravate. Also, this will be a lesson for those who want to use foreign power against the national government.
  16. This kind of shoes are not used by non state actors. It is military grade equipment by a foreign state.
  17. This guys had saved Shariif Ahmed. If Shariif goes to Kismaayo and empowers the outlaw what would happen. How about if he tries to attacks the opposition and commits massacre. If he attacks and kills people, President Shariif will be responsible. Mudane Shariif dab ha gelin Kismaayo ee dalbo in doorasho xor ahi dhacdo. I will not say anything to Hassan Sheikh because he is using the tribal card to get some traction. The somali government is not no ones guest. If the locals are not happy about the national capital, then we must take the capital to Baraawe or Garoowe. Cidna marti loo noqon maayo.
  18. It is really boggles the mind that a uniformed army like these would be called a collection of Somali religious extremists who are self financing. Any rebel grouping surviving in the ragged mountains of Golis should look rough and hungry. Most of all should be wearing a traditional " Macaws" or normal pants. Folks, I could be wrong but these are foreign trained army deployed within Somalia. Just look at the matching military uniform, the weapons and the gear they are carrying. What is going on?. It is this a quick way to make money for Puntland ? Is the gulf boys sending their mercenaries again? The so called Daish haven't fired any gun lately at the Galgala mountains. Other than these Hollywood style pictures where is the real news about how they formed, were they come from ot how they finance or spend their days. Walaahi waa cajiib. Maalinba ciidan cusub ayaa noo imanaya.
  19. I think Hassan Sheikh went too law. For him to speak for Mogadishu people as patient people toward the government is just crude and tribal. Besides, these guys had their chance to govern and lost the election. They should leave the arena for new blood and others. Why they both keep coming. Don't they know that in Somalia you have one chance to lead and if you fail you are history.
  20. If these two guys go to Nairobi and became coyotes to cross the border, it will destroy their future political lives. If they ride the Kenyan helicopters would be even worse. Anigu waxaan qabaa hadda in labadaba la siidaayo oo ay ku biiraan budhcada xukunka boobtay. WAlaahi ayagaa ku ceeboobi.
  21. The Somali government of today doesn't need political martyrs .As he said, as a former president , has every right to visit wherever he wishes. He has a constitutional right to be a spoiler and visit Kismaayo. If president Shariif want to be spoiler and give a boast the KIsmaayo outlaw, let him be. I can assure you that the day he goes to Kismaayo, a city that elected three presidents, and be part of quagmire, his stocks will go down big time. Many people will consider him as one of the spoilers who want to take sides. As I said before, Shariif Ahmed isn't a tribal person or a bad guy. He is a decent man, but choosing to inflame the KIsmaayo conflict will only damage his prestige and standing. Waar ha safro oo asxaabtiisii maxakamadaha iyo Al-shabaabka abuurtay ha ku biiree siidaaya. Hana ogaado in Soomalia ay soo dhaaftay wadaad jabhad ah oo Kitaab iyo qori la ordaya si uu awooda u qaato. Let him join his buddies. KIsmaayo will be his political grave yard. Look, even Cabdulaahi Deni of Puntland kept queite and didn't say a word about these conflicts in KIsmaayo. As a serious leader, he doesn't want to be part of the spoilers. Deni Waa rageedi. Waa uu aamusay oo sugayaa sida ay wax u dhacaan.
  22. I don't think there is going to be a war between the federal government and Madoobe. Yes, Farmaajo is putting him a pressure, yet, if Madoobe is removed, it will be by the locals. The people of Jubba are turning against him already. Those who keep saying that Farmaajo will be chased out of the capital by certain tribe are mistaken. He is not a despot or dictator that needs to be overthrown. He is no bodies guest. The only way he will leave the power is ballot by box and elections. Khayaaliga la iska dhaadhicinayo ee reer hebel baa marti loo yahay iyo waxaas. Does Shariif Ahmed would assemble tribal militia today against the government and then try to be a candidate tomorrow? I do not think so. Waar la tali oo u sheeg in aanu is ceebeyn. Apophis , forget about 1991 or the useless tribal wars. I think we passed that stage.
  23. The legitimate national government of Somalia had said the election in JUbba was null and void. It also said that those who are going their must pass through Aden Cade airport. It wasn't up to the standard of former elections. Have you seen any video about people putting ballot papers in box as it happened in Puntland? No. You can't deffy government orders. If you disagree, go to the court and challenge it. They can't allow former president to give a boast to someone the government considers an outlaw.
