The Oromo nation is mourning for the last few days, after the senseless assassination of the beloved artist, singer/song writer Hacaluu Hundessaa. No one knows who are the killers are and the government of Abiy Ahmed is erratically pointing fingers to many places. The singer was jailled in 2003 for composing and singing Oromo freedom songs. He spend five years in jail. He composed his early songs in jail. In 2015, his song " Maalin Jira (my existence" gossiping the annexation of Oromoia land by the TPLF was the culprit that ignited the Oromo revolution that deposed the centuries long dictatorship. The man is a symbol of Oromo pride and nationalism. By far he is the top Oromo singer loved by millions. Last week he gave interview to the Oromo Media Network owned by Jawar Mohamed and criticized Abiy government. Yesterday, I speculated that the TPLF might have a hand in this to create mistrust among Oromo. Yet, evidence might lkead to other groups especially Amhara. The singer is contesting Addis to be included to the Oromia land and those who staunchly opposed any Oromo presence of the Ethiopian capital are Amhara. Today I met an Oromo quittance of mine and I said, to him, " I do believe the Amhara could be the killers". He immediately jumped and said, " don't say that because that statement might create a civil war in Ethiopia, and according the latest news, the government is accusing WAyaane on the assassination of the artist". To kill the people's heroes and those they hold dear has been always the work of colonizers to demoralize those seeking freedom and make them feel hopeless. June 30, 2020 OMN announced that Federal Police had arrested Jawar Mohammed on Tuesday. The media, whose owner is Jawar Mohammed himself who was linked to the killings of 86 people in October 2019, claimed that there was a clash between the Federal Police and Oromia region Security forces, as reported by DW Amharic service on Tuesday. However, OMN did not say details regarding casualties on both sides. It claimed that Federal Police members had to get reinforcements to make the arrest. Bekele Gerba, who is among the senior leadership of Oromo Federalist Party, is also arrested along with Jawar Mohammed. The location of their arrest is undisclosed. Jawar joined the political party last December the legality of which was questioned by the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia on grounds of Jawar’s U.S. citizenship. The arrest came a day after prominent Ethiopian singer Hachalu Hundessa was assassinated in the capital Addis Ababa in the locality of Gelan Condominiums. Police said on Tuesday that he was killed after he got into his car. However, Police did not disclose information about the identities of the killed although it has confirmed that it has arrested some suspects. Hachalu was interviewed by OMN a few days before he was murdered, and there was apparent coordination on the part of those who plotted the killing to make his death appear as if it is linked to the remarks he made over the Emperor Menelik. Oromia Regional State president, Shimeles Abdissa, said on Tuesday that the killing was an orchestrated one and was intended to bring about chaos in the country. He pointed fingers to Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) leaders and other political forces who he said were hired mercenaries. Speaking with breaking voices out of grief, Shimeles also said that political entities that are combining peaceful and armed struggle are involved in the campaign to reverse the reform measures in the country. Lencho Bati, a prominent Oromo activist, and politician who is said to work as an adviser to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government said the killing TPLF and Egypt are likely to be behind the killing. But it was executed through the agency of mercenaries hired from the Oromo community, he added.

I agree. Puntland had prime minister as a house Nigger who was based in Mogadishu. I do believe that in early 2009-2012, the whole federal government was, Puntland, Shhariif Ahmed and Shariif Hassan, they would have created Sool and Sanaag if they pushed, but chose to follow the HAG on these issues. The constitution will be " La jiifiyaana Banaan". It is illegal to give 13 To Mogadishu without basing any constitutional means. The provisional parliament says the upper house should be 54 based on 18 provinces. Some regions who are one and half provinces like Galmudug took 8 seats. They should have gotten 4 or maximum 5. At the end this amalgamation of regions must be abolished and the federal system should be based on the original 18 provinces. I would even suggest the abolishing of the Upper House. Somalia needs one single parliament and the executive branch. Yet, at the moment, Puntland seems to be isolated politically. It is on the verge of loosing Sool and Sanaag community for good; it doesn't have good relations with South west and Hiiraan, and by pandering to Banaadir seats Farmaajo is allying himself to the " Unaka and company. Also , in terms of constitution, it is only Puntland that is safeguarding and forcing the federal government to obey. Under C/raxman Faroole, Puntland decided to abandon Sool and concentrate to federal politics only. If Puntland had decided early the establishment of Sool and Sanaag as a self standing entity, it might have created a real ally and powerful region that by default could have eliminated separatists in Somaliland. Without Sool and Sanaag Somaliland could have been reduced as a small region of Dirta woqooyi. Instead they have concentrated obtaining authority to appoint the Sool region members of Parliament to Mogadishu. I think Puntland should self examine and change the course. Few weeks ago C/laahi DEni was praising Somaliland at the expense of Farmaajo and last week he was complaining about the fake Djibouti conference. The time has come for Puntland to build real allies and concentrate for those who share their Pan-Somalism and those who stand by the constitution. Also, Farmaajo and company are weak links when it comes to HAG agenda. While he had moved the needle on the federal government and the nation, his administration has not strengthened anyone from JUbba, Sool, Awdal, Sanaag, Puntland, Gedo and others.

I am not denying the peace building efforts of Somaliland. For me Ceel Afweyn is an orchestrated tribal and political war, yet as you said , it is very small in scale of things. Southern Somalia is much bigger not only in terms of population and geography, but also large mix of tribes while in the north there are three or four groups. Also, what is at stake in Mogadishi and Somalia is much bigger in the eyes of the world and Somalia around the world and the region.. That doesn't mean Somaliland is insignificant , but stable Mogadishu will mean the conclusion of of the past.That is why America intervened in Mogadishu and not Hargeisa. The problems of the south is exasperated by Wahabi and religious politics combined by the schemes of our neighbors, the gulf boys and the west. It is the combinations of many things. Yet, I do believe most of the blame should go to the southern leaders who can not srr the big picture and make tough decisions.

In 1991 Djibouti conference elected Cali Mahdi. In fact, after Caydiid and Cali Mahdi reconciled in late 1992 things were calming down before America intervened which targeted the most eligible man to lead Mohamed F. Caudiid. By 1994 when a war was ragging in the north, there were conferences and other constitutional moves to establish government. While everyone was talking about warlords in the nineties , trade and people moved from coast to coast. Before the Wahabi elements were introduced in Gedo in 1997, Southern Somalia was semi stable while tribal wars were raging in the North from 1994-1996.

What did happen in the north in 1991 and after. 1-Tribal war was raging in the coast. 2- late 1991 and early 1992, tribal war was going on in Berbera and Hargeisa, 3-C/raxman Tuur the SNM president was stopped in the middle of Hargeisa and his car was taken by militia. 4- Bombs, guns and mortars were flying within and most of the city was destroyed by tribal militia. 5-AWdal elders went to Berbera, Hargeisa and Burco to reconcile the Waring Habro tribes. 6-Borama conference was hels in 1993. 7- The tribal started again in 1994. 8- Burco was destroyed and refugees left the city and formed another town called Yiroowe. 9- Militia belonging to our own Suldaan occupied the airport and refused to give back to Cigaal administration. 10- a war to take back the airport begun and destroyed south Hargeisa. This are the few things that took place after 1991. Now I shall retire.

When a dictator overstays and rules over 22 years, he might think that every uprising could be the one that could finish him off for good. The last uprising was not instigated by the opposition or a grieving sub clan but a public outcry across Djibouti. Usually , before any major reconciliation summit takes place, technical committees pave the road and discuss the outstanding issues and leave the major sticking points to the leaders. Here in Djibouti, the summit failed the first day before delegates entered to the major points. Cumar Ghelle tried to save face by creating toothless committees to discuss the issues the second day. .. Both Abiy and Farmaajo were shocked when the unstable Muuse Biixi read the wrong statement at the conference. Before the summit started Cumar Gheelle made major mistakes by pushing some of the illogical demands of Muse Biixi including the exclusion of northern politicians in Mogadishu and those who hail from Puntland. Furthermore, Turkey and AU were also missing for same reason or another. W Somaliland demanded not to politicize aid (cash), share air space , fulfil all previous commitments and so on.. Unlike the earlier reports of mine which quoted a member of Farmaajo delegation, the Somali delegation was unprepared. Yet , having the legitimate power of the Somali state, they were confident to recuperate any mishaps. The instability and paranoia of the Somaliland delegation was visible already as soon as the process started. Saleebaan Gaal went to the airwaves and declared the frailer of the summit (Madaxweynaha anaa la joogay oo waa lagu kala tegay). Foreign minister Faratoon tried to correct him and safe face. Dr. Edna flowed and went to her usual rant. At the committee meetings, Somaliland seemed to be getting some concessions from the summit. The federal government accepted everything and wanted only to straighten the unity file by demanding an open society were people should travel without restrictions. That was huge No from the Somaliland delegation. If there was no Berlin wall, the people of east Germany would have abandoned communism long ago, and Somaliland politicians understand that an open society will be detrimental to the false history created for the last three decades. At the end the summit failed and we are back to the status quo. Yet, only a delusional leaders will celebrate the failure of their efforts. It was Somaliland that needed to resolve the air control issue, it was them who badly needed the money to build infrastructure and provide public services with this donor money. It was Somaliland who supposed to gain something and get out of the quagmire and economic stagnation. Yet, in Hargeisa Muuse is celebrating . He is presenting that Somaliland was not swallowed by the Farmaajo and his team including Abiy. For Muuse Biixi, why would you go to a conference without even gaining the minimum requirement? What did Muuse bring back home? nothing. After their refusal, all Farmaajo has to show the so-called international community is that the North doesn't have a capable leadership that could make deals. Although he did not give up anything, Farmaajo too has lost a lot of ground on this fake summit by despot Omar Gheelle. As usual, he is led by the nose by the American ambassador Yamamoto. Why you call yourself a president if you can not even take any major steps without your supervisors?. If the main reason was to get votes from the northern politicians in Mogadishu, Farmaajo is dead duck without knowing. It will be just circling the wagon again without sound leadership.
