War Drums: Pro-Russian Eastern Ukraine Evacuated
galbeedi replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Che, These Russians must let go their former colonies like everyone else. They stil hold the people conquered by the Zsar in 19th century, and those who were taken over by the Bolshivik since 1917. Not only Ukraine, but others must leave the yoke of the Russian bear including Azerbaijan, Khasakhastan, Uzbekistan, Dagesatan and Chechen regions inside Russia and even the Tatar republic. LIke Yugoslavia Russia must let go other nations. Putin murdered 80,000 Chechens , and he still bombing civilians in Syria. Having nuclear weapons doesn't make one superpower, heck Pakistan , India and others have it. I hope Ukraine to be the quagmire that will weaken Putin and company. -
Xaaji waan ka hadhay boqortooyada, I wish they were hounrable. That is a good point. I was just reading an article by the British telegarph today, and they mentioned how Djibouti is becoming the Berlin of 1950's where the western nations faced the communist block. EVeryone is talking about the Chinese base. No one knows how many soldiers are in the base or how they even they landed through the air or by ship. The Chinese don'r intract with the local and don't leave their base. The western diplomats don't know what is going on behind the barbed wires and the concerete building.

Kulahaa waa sawirkii ugu dambeeyey. they are making Fahad a super spy unknown to the people. Who knows , since the Mogadishu media made him the power behind everything, he could be the deputy parliament speaker and all hell will break lose accusing him of running the parliament

Most of Somali social media and other internet sites took the bait from the Omar Geelle family and proclaimed that an attempted coup has been foiled by the regime. We were told that Djibouti police chief colonel C/laahi Cabdi have been arrested and military chief general Zakariye is under investigation. Also a dozen or so officers were either detained or put under house arrested. Furthermore, the Djibouti budget minister was also arrested for authorization the theft of $1.5 million dollars from the Djibouti central bank. No one excatly knows the main reason behind these moves, but our informed Djiboutian friends beg to defer what the Omar Geelle family is masquerading as foiled coup. Couple of unusual events had taken place prior to the recent arrests. Few weeks ago, a recording of private conversation between Omar Geelle and the police chief have been released to the media. In the conversation Geelle was asking the police chief to deliver a threatening message to one of the opposition members. In it Geelle said, " Tell him that he could insult me or say whatever he wants against me , but if he interferes with my children and their business, I will put a pullet in his head". THe old despot means business. XAbad baan madaxa kaa saari. There was a debate whether the recording voice was authentic or doctored. Yet, the biggest dilema was how this private coversation between these two powerful men had been recorded and released. Later it was revealed that the police chief have been recording the enemies of the regime for the last 15 years. Unbeknown to many people in Djibouti, including the Geelle family, the chief also acquired a very sophisticated spyware equipment since 2015. The chief got the Pegasus Spyware which can be covertly installed on mobile phones and other devices These spywares allowed the police chief to track calls and have access to speakers and even cameras. The man knows the extensive actions of Omar Geelle including his dealings with Somali bankers who facilitate money transfers throughout the region, his connection with Biixi family and even the long going conflict in Sanaag that was difficult to stop. The Djibouti opposition says that there was even a recording of Geelle saying he either had to depose Farmaajo or assassinate him. Furthermore, all kind of nasty things by the Ivorian son in law of Omar Geelle have beeb circulating inside Djibouti for months. Since SOL is a family site, we will not discuss further those alegations. The Djibouti opposition believes that the police chief had recorded every conversation he had with the president and other intelligence officers close to Geelle and his wife. No one knows the reason, but he probably thought to use these recordings if his life were threatened by the Geelle family. Omar Geelle had killed many years ago Yasin Yaabe, the police chief before the current one and the chief of the Gendarmerie in mysterious ways. The former police chief had died in jail and the other one died due to suicide. His family said the man had five bullet wounds which is contrary to a suicide. As of now, the justice ministetry had released a presecutorial comunication claiming to be investigating " the police director and the budget minister" for the release of audio recording and other crimes.. So Geelle had issues to deal with. So, the family decided to take advantage of the opportunity to settle scores and prepare for the future. Despite the public appearances, Geelle is sick, old and weak to handle many internal issues in Djibouti. It is mainly handled by the wife and group of clansmen who are in charge of the security apparatus.. THe head of the republican guard, the military chief and the intelligence chief who are all cousins manage all issues pertaining to security. These Mamaasen men intend to eventually pick up the next leader of Djibouti. Folks, the internal power struggle of the family had started. The security men, with the help of the police chief want to install either the oldest son of Omar Geelle, Liibaan, who is a construction businessman not interested in politics or their own close cousin from the family. All that talk is only for future considerations when Geelle expires or incapacitated by illness. The wife wants to crown her own son whom she had with the former prime minister of Djibouti who is Affar. While Omar Geelle was chief of the secret sevice and chief cabinet, he forced the late prime minister of Djibouti to divorce his wife accusing him of being drank. Some say that the former Afar premier would not had accepted to divorce his wife unless Omar Geelle had some damaging information from the man. Geelle then married her . She had a dauther and son from that marriage. Now , Najiib Abdalla Kamil, the son of the former Affar prime minister is being groomed to take over from his step father Geelle. Just last few weeks he was appointed the " the director of the directors". A bogus title that puts him in charge of supervising government ministries. Soon, just like Hirsi Gaab of Somaliland and Omar Geelle in the eighties, this kid is going to be " Chief of Cabinet " . In order to rise up and prop his way, the Djibouti opposition is claiming that he was the one who cashed the $1.5 million-dollar withdrawn from the central bank while forgeying the signature of the budget minister. The minister had denied authrozing the money and claimed his innocence in front of the parliament, but was arrested this week. In order for the wife to crown her son, she must eliminate the old guards and the Mamaasan clansmen who are on the way. The biggest them of all is Zakariye Sheik Ibrahim, the septuagenarian general who is in charge of the army for the last 40 years, the head of Gendarmerie and the police chief. AS of this week, the police chief is under arrest ,and he has been already replaced by a close family member from Omar Geelle subclan. Zakeriye is being investigated and the head of gendarmerie has been replaced by an Affar man. The next move of the family will be to depose the so called , " Harsul Jamuri" chief with some new face from the family. For years, I used to hear how this Najib guy hated Geelle and might even kill him one day due to what he did to his father. The wife also might get the opportunity to remove the Geelle clansmen who denied her family the full control of the state. Yet, we have been all fed about a coup attempt by a police chief who was the only none Mamaasan seniour officer in the whole security apparatus. It is had to sift through the disinformation from all sides at the moment. Either the released recording of two weeks ago between Geelle and the police chief was a plot to frame the later, or as our Djiboutian freinds calim, the man has some damaging information from the family and he will either be asked to furnish the secret or die in jail. They usually paint the walls of the jail with some dangerous chemicals and the prisoner develops some serious respiratory decease and he dies within a year or less. Either way, whether he talks or not he is a dead man walking. Meanwhile the raw sewage is flooding Djibouti streets and public service salary has been delayed for the last few months. On the otherside, Tony, ther Ivorian son in law, is flying with private jet and has even brought former premier league players from Ivory Coast to come and play in Djibouti. If this corrupt family tries to hold on to power for another 45 years, Djibouti will collapse from their greed. In the late seventies, one of the sons of Siyaad Barre got a Yugoslavian girl freind and suddeenly he made ger pregnant and he wanted to marry her and bring to Somalia. The late president said: " Waar ayadoo gabdhihii Soomaaliyeed dalka Buuxaan miyaad la i odhan wiilkii madaxweynaha ayaa naag Ajeeniba guursaday" Wiilkii qandhuuftiisii bu dib y leqay. Djibouti waxa helay qoys gudaha ka qudhmay.

. He was a dealer before he became prime minister. He has certain western coroprate culture in terms of how he conducts his business, being early and making his supordinates accountable. Yet, as a guy born and raised in Mogadishu, the issue of national unity and and Somali history is not relevant to him like Farmaajo or C/laahi Yusuf. Hassan Sheikh treid to deal with Ahmed Siilaanyo and when he foundout the games the Hargeisa regime was playing he downgraded the relashinship and focused on the main issues. Personally, I do not trust Hassan Khayre on the national issues. He is a dealer who could sell many valuble things if he isn't supervised by a president. Shariif Ahmed is the same on these issues. He congratualted the north for 18 May day. What that tells you?. The disapearance of Muudey, Dalxa and CAli Yare and others might signal the weakness of N&N from the outside, but Ali Faqi from South West is coming and could take the speakership. It is realy hard to predict , but I would watch how Mahdi Guuleed moves. Whether he remains N&N or being bought by the opposition.

THere was this Somali cab driver in Calgary who picked up two loud Nigerian ladies. THey told him they want cthe losest and faster route to their destination. After few exchanges, they did ask him where he came from and told he wasv from Africa. Where in Africa they demanded, and he said east Africa. THey asked where exactly? and he told them Somalia. Did you guys know Somalia? He said they jumped up and said " Of course , we know your president Farmaajo who is one of the most honest president Africa, you guys are lucky we wish we had one like him instead of the thieves we have in west Africa. When he asked how did they know this? they said their NigerianYoutubers discuss discuss this and how kicked out UN crookes and others. Nigeeriyaankii ayaa leh Farmaajo ii Geeya. Of course, his foreign policy success which put Somalia in the map again, but the security issues and Al-shabaab threat is still present.

Farmaajo todobaadkan aan ku jiro waxa u bilawday sanadkisii lixaad. As they say , certainly time flies. This week we are entering the sixth year of the Farmaajo administration. Those who live in the harsh winter weather like us, we always welcome the coming spring with better things on the horizon. And despite what Rooble or others say, this election cycle might not end until the end of spring. We will be lucky if the election takes place around April or even May 2022. Yet, according to many , especially the loyal opposition, The sixth year of Farmaajo could come and go without any significant changes affecting the major issues facing Somalia, especially security. While the national army is taking back some towns in Galmudug or pacifying Beledweyne for the coming elections, no major towns in Jubbaland or Lower Shabbelle had been liberated by the Farmaajo regime. We heard the news about the Turkish trained Gorgor (The Eagle brigade) confronting and fighting Al-shabaab in central Somalia and South West regions, but at the moment, for the sixth year in a row, Gorgor and those who proceeded them haven't liberated any major towns. Marka, Qoryooley, Sablaale, Baraawe, Jawhar and many towns in Middle Shabeele were liberated by the Hassan Sheikh regime. Farmaajo sent soldiers to Gedo which was already controlled by the Jubbland allied forces, rather than confronting Al-shabaab in Bu'alle and Jilib. The later town is one of the richest towns in Jubbaland in terms of natural resources. Both the former favtory of Mareerey and Faanoole agriculture program is located in Jilib. it is central town that connects Baraawe, KIsmaayo , Bay regions and Gedo. Holding Jilib made the extremists much richer. Travel between Baidoa and Mogadishu road is impossible as well as within middle Shabeele and the capital. Any government institutional improvement made by former premier Khayre was destroyed during the time of Rooble. Folks, we are almost square one in many major issues. Despite the success of the Farmaajo government achieved in managing government finances, including paying soldiers on time and gaining some praises in the foreign policy, not much has changed in terms of securing in the south-central regions of the country. The country had been thrown in to wrestling political match since September 2020 which later developed in to embarrassing power struggle between the premier and the president. The polarization of the country is at the lowest level in the history. The selection process of the MPS had not only become corrupt and illegal, but also bizarre and comical. A similar scenarion of corrupt practises of selecting the members of parliament took place in 2016, but this one seems to be the record year with open daylight theft and overpowering those who failed to get muscle. The biggest theft of all had taken place among the northern delegates. Before these corrupt maneuvers and vote buying took place since 2012, The election of 1969 was one of the most corrupt in Somalia. Ballot stuffing, sidelining legitimate contenders and the registering of over 80 parties, destroyed the trust of the Somali public had in democracy and elections some fifdty years ago. No wonder in 1969 when the military took over the country , there were celebrations throughout the country and specially the north western regions where the late premier Egal hailed. In fact, Egal handpicked his men and chased out many prominent men who later joined the " Kacaan" as bureaucrats and leaders. I am afraid that if these shenanigans in Mogadishu and regional towns continue, the Somali people might rise up and reject the whole thing. That could set the clock back to another decadecor worse. As things stand today, most of the HAG politicians who encouraged illegal Inserection seem to be losing support. HAssan Sheikh is out of the sight with no meaningful support other than few pockets from the north. Shariif Ahmed is the Dahabshill, Buurmadow , Cabdi/Hashi/Samatar gang candidate, aided by Uhuru and Omar Geele . C/laahi Deni, who is the real challenger of Farmaajo is hiding these days and working behind the scene. The Dayano family aided by Reer Bari oligarchs had wounded him badly, but that doesn't mean he is giving up. Deni is a hard nosed man who is mostly self made. In 2016, Cumar Sharmaarke and company asked him to refrain from running for president to avoid crowding the field and splitting the Puntland vote. He refused and run winning 18 votes. Deni, as a card cayying Muslim Brotherhood member, he has no any simpathy for either C/weli or Sharmaarke. He could have probably kicked Faroole in the teeth , but the Garoowe based Aaran Jaan oligarchs are very powerful to mess with. Anyway, unless unkown man ridding a dark horse shows up the last minute, this contest is between Farmaajo and Deni. At the end, if the HAG want to get rid of Farmaajo, they have to swallow their Puntland antipathy and join the Deni Wagon. Ahmed Madoobe is getting many conflicting orders from Uhuru who is pushing him on one side and his buddy C/laahi Deni who fought with him in the trenches. On the other hand Farmaajo is ready to begin his sixth year with familiar faces. My sources tell me that Mr. C/caziiz Laftagareen will be running as the speaker of the parliament and Mr. Qoor Qoor will be the next premier under Farmaajo, and the kid named Cali Yare will take over in Galmudug the land of trouble. If the stars are aligned for Farmaajo, his next government will be led by truely tested men who have the same outlook and the direction Somalia should take. With Cali Guudlaawe setlling well in Hiiraan, the fourth man in the Farmaajo caravan is full. As we speak, again, the biggest losers in Hiiraan are the HAG branch of Hiiraan based in Beledweyne. They rooted for anarchy and supported the dwelling armies of the old general Xuud seeking some retirement cash another unkown fake general and Al-shabaab. When the healthy and good looking soldiers of Gorgor showed up early in the morning, the Beledweyne citizens gave the soldiers tea and milk. Guudlaawe landed and all seem to forgotten and forgiven. In military jargon, the way the military boys apear in uniform disarms the opposition in a serious way. Good job. Waxaad moodaa in dadka laka Ilaalinayo si aysan u wada hadal oo u heshiin. Kuwa Hargeisa jooga marka laga reebo Xaaji Xanjuf iyo xertiisa sidaas oo kale armay u soo dhaweeyaan ciidanka qaranka. Be very affraid Xaaji. Other than Jamaal, the current planning minister, C/raxman Beyle and foreign minister C/saciid, the rest of the cabinet will be flshed out with few ecxptions. If Farmaajo comes back, Deni will prepare his retirement, and Ahmed Madoobe will be replaced by OOmaar, the Jubbaland native who preparing his inserection to oust Masdoobve in Nairobi, probably with the blessing of Uhuru Kenyatta. Nin reer Gedo ah ayaa waxa uu yidhi, " waar ninkan Farmaajo hadal yaqaan ma ahan, karti badana ma leh, haddana dadka haddi cod laga qaado, isagaa loogu shubi, siday wax u jiraan?. Inta aanan su'aashaas ka jawaabin, C/laahi Deni oo dayaarad ka soo raacaya Djibouti ayaa yidhi, " haddii dadkan reer Djibouti oon weligood Farmaajo arag haddi la yidhaahdo cod u qaada isaga iyo Cumar Geelle waxa laga yaaba in Farmaajo guulaysto, Tolow dadka miyuu sixray? It is hard to answer why people like the reclusive man who hasn't done much, yet adored by many Somalis. There arec probably many reasons. here is few : 1- Most Somalis indentify their political leanings due to their clan. geograpgy or the past history of Somalia compared to the current climate. Everyone agrees that Farmaajo isn't a man known to be tribal. Even Reer Gedo will tell ypu he doesn't care about his clan. Even C/laahi Deni publicly said that Farmaajo might not be even a member of the D block( Waar ma hubtaan ninku in uu D yahay). 2- As they saying goes, " if talking is money, silence is golden". Somalis have been arguing for ages and everyone has his own opinions about evetrything. Suddenly, there is this man that doesn't say much, yet everyone asumes that Farmaajo is working for Somalia to atke its place among proud nations and his silence is interpreeted as no nonesense man working quitely for the nation. 3--In general, the Somali people see Farmajoas a clean living man that doesn't steal the public purse. Due to the work of Dr. Beyle, the international financial instutuions have praised the financial management of the the Farmaajo adminitration. Futhermore, the ugly moves of premier Rooble by focusing the UAE cash at the central bank, and the accusations of stealing public land, had semented Farmaajo's image as the honest president of the new Somalia. Yet, he most imporant answer that I usually give to the question of the Gedo man and Deni is this: The Somali people has been calculating and recording what those who destryoed the national government since 1991 has been doing from Hargeisa to Garoowe, Mogadishu and beyond. No matter how many evil that took place in Somalia in the eighties or the dictatorial system of government, people are nostalgic about the regular and predictable life they had before the upheavel. When I was in Mogadishu in the eighties as a student, I considersed that town to be my own town like those who were born there ( Muqdisho cid baa kaa xigta ma rumaysnayn). People are tired of those beating the tribal drums, yet couldn't pacify or create a system in one single village. After many false promises and stagnant systems of government with zero ability to move up or change their situations, People hate their own local leaders and would prefer a national government and FArmaajo fills that void. He is a hope of good things to come for many Somalis. From Hargeisa to Hiiraan we are all nostalgic of the days of the Kacaan, the Somalia of 1985. A man in Hargeisa says, " in 1982 we had water and we didn't even pay the bill because we we sivil servants, yet in 2022we have no water in Hargeisa although we are willing to pay" . Every Somali that is looking for national government is looking FArmaajo. Dawlada qAranka fArmaajo ayaa laga urinayaa. aNow what the alternative leadership rapresent in the eyes of the people? Here we asume that preception is almost realty. You say Shariif Ahmed and and what comes to mind? Islamic courts, Al-shabaab and chaos. While Shariif is a good man, he is the product of that chaos and without that is he won't be here. Waa kuwii masiibada iyo Al-shabaab inoo keenyay.Hassan Sheikh whom I consider to an able man who achieved a lot in very short period, including creating Galmudug, South West and welcomed Jubbaland, furthermore clearing many town from Al-shabaab, has serious credibility issues. We might be all tribal, but no one likes a president who sits in the middle of the clan and proclaims " Mudulood waa Qaran". Also, unlike Farmaajo he couldn't hide his financial transuctions discreetly, thus he is labeled as corrupt. Waa Tuug ayaa u baxday. Finally, C/laahi Deni has issues including allying with foreign governments to sideline Farmaajo and some obstructions of the national elections. Those are all political narratives that could be explained or projected as mere political attacks. Furthermore, there isn't much money to be stealed provincially compared the 2 billion dollar yearly federal budget, and Boosaaso port matter is negotiated by C/weli That is why I am saying that the only man who could confront Farmaajo in the public arena is Deni. Anyway let us hold the ugly auction and get over with it.

Afars are blockading trucks heading to Tigray, especially feul and the TPLF is trying to break the Afar by attacking them. THis Abiy guy had made so many mistakes. Almost everything he says or touches becomes disaster. He can't win wars and can make peace, in the meantime chaos is increasing within the country. Some people believe that the Afars had became very close to Eritrea and Abiy is affraid of their growing power. So far no help had reached for the Afars from the Ethiopian army. It seems the TPLF army is still intact and could cause more problems. The Afars should stop threatening Tigray proper and let the relieve trucks proceed to avoid more suffering of their people.

Maakhiri1, Who would have trained Somali soldiers by thousands with less than six years. mIllions of monthly budget support since 2012, medical facilities and scholaeship for Somali youth.? Only time will tell if the Turks are willing to import our goods, but first we have to clear Al-Shabaab from the most productive land of the country.THey did give as legs up, but the rest is up to us to negotiate and cut better deals. OUr biggest weakness is to love others without condtions and hate others without looking for our intrest.

Che, THe trucker protest had cribled Ottawa, Canada's capital for almost 10 days. THey want vaccine passport for truckers eliminated. Police couldn't do much other than give few tickets and charge some mischief behaviour. Towing truck companies had refused to tow the big rigs. The big issue is the American truckers and other pro Trump guys might copy this and shut off American highways. What can you do three hundred truck convoys blocking bridges and border crossing? Police have resources, and the military can't act against civilians. This is not Egypt. Trudeau is calling their actions illegal and refusing to meat. If he doesn't act quickly and make a deal, the supply chaines of the country could face serious shortages. These are not the anarchist kids marching for the envirnment or BLM people rioting. These are the most productive members of the economy who are very serious about their intensions. Calling them names or small minority will not cut it. Here in Alberta our premier cancelled vaccine passaport effective imediately as of midnight last night. Two years is more than enough. People had lost businesses and livelyhood. THe left is becoming authoritarian yhese days. WE have enough medical dictatorship, it is about time to open up the economy. The truckers had earned this by supplying essentials when everyone else was sheltering in place and hidding in their houses.

Biden couldn't have been president without the support of black people. Congressional black caocus is one of the most powerful in congress. Of course they mostly concentrate on black issues, but as African economic power grows, so does their imput. THe Amhara diapora had turned the tide by focusing the black community, and even voting republican if America doesn't change its policy. One major issue the Hargeisa crowd doesn't understand is no one will back a " none issue secession". How can Ethiopia entertain seperation while Tigray and Somali Galbeed is mulling to get out? it is a none stareter. Bashir Goth and company had made few bucks in this saga.

MMA, trade volume is probably a two way. This report doesn't break down import and export.

The opposition fought hard for the last election while waiting over seven years of Ahmed Siilaany. Add probably another six years of Biixi, that is a life time for a Somali opposition to wait for their turn to rule. To create crisis and unnecessary obsticles when the presidential election is just months away is nothing but a day light roberry. I don't think any opposition which have been ready to contest within the next six months would accept to be fragmented with bogus opening of parties. Hold the bext ellection which is due within seven months and then organize municipal elections in two or three years in order for them to serve full year. Again, there is no precedent where political parties contest without nothing to win. When you run a race, you must win atleast a medal. This nothing but a power grab.
-
Mr. BX, I welcome your measured and to the point response which is the custom here in SOL. On the issue of renewal of the parties, as tradition dictates, the political parties should have contested the last municipal election to measure how many support a party has in towns , villages and cities. it was complete deception from part Muuse Biixi to hold these elections a year later to concur the so called ten years. it is very strange and unusual to held elections within a year of the other. Besides, how could parties contest without nothing on the line. No one in the real world holds elections for parties to contest without no seats on the line . Xisbiyada ayaa tartamaya keligood aduunka kama dhacdo. Niw if we flow the logic of Muuse Biixi, parties will contest without nothing on the line in May 2022, and five months later another election for the president. That is three consecutive elections in less than two years. He should hold the presidential elections in November and then open the parties for renewal, anything else is power grab and to destroy the opposition

This news is just in from Abu Dubai. It isn't confirmed yet by Somaliland, Ethiopia or others. A source in the gulf nation said the Emirates are very reluctant to abandon Berbera yet, but their activities in Berbera indicate otherwise. Even locals in Berbera see the attitude of the port managers lately as vultures. They are charging a fee for every car that enters the port and port service levies had doubled. Some might even see this sas a means to recoup their investment as quickly as possible. The Emirates had invested some money in Berbera and increased the tonnage of the cargo, but also had collected millions of dollars for their service and had exported millions of tons of precious stones collected from Somaliland in their ships without paying any taxes or royalties. Also, despite their supposed investment, the activity of Berbera port had decreased year over year. Just as Boosaaso is almost drying up due to disagreements with DP World which manages the port from a distant in Dubai, Bebera could face the same fate soon. We might argue about UAE and their intentions, and some might say, they will not leave a strategic port like Berbera, but the Ethiopian position is very clear. Last week the finance minister, the soft spoken Ina Ali Shire, has quietly dropped a bomb shell saying " Ethiopia no longer owns any shares in Berbera. In fact, the real word was , " Ethiopia no longer wants any shares from Berbera port" In order to reach the elusive recognition, Somaliland had thrown itself to the most contentious issue that involves the second biggest economy in the world--China. THe Chinese had raffled feathers every country that tries to recognize or give any institutional acknowledgement to the island of Taiwan. From Lithuania to Honduras, China has raised its economic power to punish those who challenge the "One China Policy". Yet, the Hargeisa Maamul, which is out of touch of the real world, thought by recognizing Taiwan, it may get some badly needed attention from others. Well, the Asian dragon have noticed the attention seeking girl and might even crush her.Actually, they don't have to do much to punish. THe Chinese had appointed an envoy for the horn of Africa , and the first order of the business was to punish this ignorant transgressor who dared China. In the early seventies, the late American president Richard Nixon , wanted to put wedges between the the two communist giants, the Soviet Union and Mao led communist China. In order to bring China closer to the west, he had to change a long held American policy. America dropped the Republic of China (Taiwan) from the UN and offered not only recognition of the representative of the real China, the people's republic of China, but also accepted China to join the veto welding five permanent powers of the security council. Since then everyone flowed the one China policy. Unbeknown to the Hargeisa crowd, Somalia was one of the first African nations who recognized the people's republic while many countries including Ethiopia and others recognized Taiwan as the real Chinese government. That was the reason the Somali embassy in Beijing is at stones throw from Tiananmen square. Well, who needs history these days. The Hargeisa entity is the only place in the continent of Africa that is looking to challenge and confront the Chinese dragon. Soon we might see Chinese flagged ships and other Asian ships who could refuse to dock Berbera. If Ethiopia, which has only less than 5% of its trade through Berbera, flows the Chinese orders, this huge empty port has to feed only the market of less than 2 million people of Somaliland which already has 75% unemployment rate. The Ahmed Siilaanyo family took $5million dollars a year deal, took even the rent of 2018 in advance and settled in a Dubai mansion. Another fool called C/weli Gaas, cashed few millions and sold Boosaaso for peanuts and lectures as from Nairobi. Allah Doori Dembigay Galeenba Garan Maayaan. After 30 years and and less than $300 million dollar budget , Soomsaliland is seeking still attention.
-
MMA, He is trying to pull off, but the opposition will not accept this in a million years. He could pay some guys to form new political parties who couldn't even get 5% support, or eat up some of the opposition votes by dividing them. At the end he will back down or the broken boat will sink with everyone on board.

While third world democracy is full of corruption, nepotism, rigging and other machination to rule for a long time, the Somaliland style is its own league in terms buffoonery, illegal maneuvering and quite ugly stupidity. I know I have used a lot of adjectives to describe the ugly maneuvering of the ruling party Kulmiye, yet at the end it makes the whole project as fake. How can a political party expire? Is there anywhere in the world a political party expires after gaining popular support? some nations have certain thresholds to enter the parliament and claim seats in order to reduce sectarian parties or the fragmentation of the nation. Some have 5% threshold and others up to ten, but there is no way a party could just disappear after winning seats in the parliament. How can a legitimate party who had just secured 30 or more seats in the last election which took place just six months ago has to start from the scratch. THey had municipal and parliamentary elections in May 2021 and both UCID of FAysal WAraabe and Waddani of C/rahman Cirro won the majority of the seats and the mayoral seats of the major cities. Yet, four months later Muuse Biixi said political parties will be dissolved and a new contest will begin. He claims that every ten years the formation of political parties must start and everyone must start from scratch and the top three winners will contest the next presidential elections. Traditionally, the municipal elections or the parliament were the Barometers for the new parties to contest and show their support through seats. That was already done. Most polls in Somaliland show Waddani as the most popular party, and by forming a coalition front with UCID, certainly Muuse Biixi will lose the next election which must take place in November 2022. So, in order to sideline this issue, he created a fake crisis by claiming that every party in Hargeisa will expire next M May 2022 and in order to contest the next presidential election all new and old parties must contest. Another dilemma is how can parties contest without any prices to be win. One must run elections to either win seats in city council, parliament or the president. How can a party measure its support without no price to contest?. Only in Hargeisa. How it is possible for a party that won 30 seats in the parliament just six months ago has to run again for legitimacy again? The opposition was always fragmented due to the shifting positions of Faysal WAraabe and his UCID party who for decades helped Kulmiye win by taking advantage of the division. Finally, this summer the opposition came together and formed a united front to defeat Kulmiye. In order to avoid defeat and create uncertainty and political crisis, Muuse said , " political parties are open" Xisbiyadii waa la Furay". Allright they are , but a presidential context which is due soon must take place first. If ten parties register before the election, plus the existing three, that means they will all contest the presidential parties, while the current rule says only the top three parties could only contest. It is ridiculous. It is a sick joke by Kulmiye. Muuse knows very well he will lose, but as usual, he must manufacture the usual crisis in order to get another extension. For the last 12 months he was riding the Taiwan caravan, and now the fake recognition debate in the British parliament. This people should know that I could contribute few dollars to my local member of parliament, help him canvass few Somali/Canadian doors, and later ask him to bring a bill to recognize the Borama massacres by SNM or narrate the history of the new Adal Republic that want to be independent. It doesn't change much the reality on the ground, but certainly it could generate few headlines and some YOUTUBE discussion. Furthermore, the one-man supreme court, again only in Hargeisa, where the highest court is based by the opinion of one man who already created more confusion than clarity. It boggles the mind that these people can't even copy basic things like courts from around the world. It is becoming more like a fake democracy than one based on rule of law. But hold on, the Hargeisa crowd always measures itself with Al-shabaab infested southern Somalia and say, " Oh we are better than the south-central Somalia" . indeed, you are better, but when are you going to grow? How come this guy couldn't even walk after 30 years?

I am really disappointed that this naive doctor who is newfie to the current Mogadishu wrestling match had been baited to attack Dr. Beyle for petty reasons. This is going to be the most corrupt and illegal election to ever take place in Somalia. In 1969, while the death of the president Sharmaarke hastened many events, some of the corruptions perpetuated by SYL was the main catalysts of the " Kacaanka Barakeysan" to take place. Thousands of Somalis around the country welcomed the coup after being fed up of the shenanigans of the election. This three people were elected including this fellow Ina Xaashi Abiib, a lady and promement scholar and elder Dr. Mohamed Huseen Hadi who was former director of Somalia olympics. Rooble brought 70 of his fake delegates fro the market while 20 from AWdal also came. The elders complained about these new people at the seat whom they never saw. Before the vote took place DR Hadi addressed the combined group and ask the vote for their conscience. " Ha ii eexanina hana iga eexanina laakiin Aakhiradana idinkoo eegaya xaqa fuliya" he got 98% of the vote. Unexpectedly both Dr. Hadi and the lady are for Farmaajo and this doctor is accused to be friend of Fahad Yaasiin. Now, despite the gerrymandering of Rooble and company these three could vote for Farmaajo. No wonder the conflict resolution committee suspended these three seats due to complaints. Will see what happened. So far as of today, 118 people are elected. The imaginary break down of the count is as flows. This is not accurate, it is mostly from N&N crowd estimates. leaning to Farmaajo: 68 Leaning to Opposition coalition : 15 Leaning C/laahi Deni 18 Leaning to Khayre: 17. I am surprised Khayre is right there on the top.

Ethiopia appoints full ambassador to Somaliland
galbeedi replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
There is a big difference between national ,regional or even international news making the headlines or planted news and fabricated news. This news was given to Hiiraanonline to pave the way for the real news that supposed to be released a day or two by Somaliland Maamul. Few years ago a Somali/Ethiopian man who was a veteran ambassador was sent to represent Ethiopia in Hargeisa to represent Ethiopia to process mostly visa and other trade related issues, yet no one even said he was an ambassador. The real news is Ethiopia no longer owned the 19% offered by in Berbera port while DP World took almost 60%. Finance minister Mr. Cali Shire said this week that Ethiopia no longer owns the 19% offered by the Maamul and now DP world owns 65% and Somaliland 35%. We haven't seen any document, public meeting or ceremony for change of shares other than the words of the minister. Yet Hiiraanonline published that news two days after the earlier headline Bal adiguba is qabadsii, ' Ethiopia Dekeda Berbera waxa kuma leh oo way ka baxday mashruucaas iyo Ethiopia oo safiir Somaliland u soo magacawday" Zaylac port development there was a meeting between the Biixi administration and Ethiopia in late August about the future development of Zaylac port. In the light of the military threat posed by the TPLF of the Djibouti--Addis train and the disruption of some local clans between Djibouti--Diredhabe line, Ethiopia begun looking alternative ports and routes in the region. Nothing was concluded, but the Somaliland Maamul waited the outcome of the war hoping like many Somalis in the region and Djibouti for eventual victory of the TPLF or setting up of a new administration allied with the Tigray Junta. As soon as the defeat of the TPLF became apparent, Biixi and company had launched a big lobbying campaign including spending $2 million dollars in Washington alone. Some of the campaign spread headed by some American think tanks was headed by Michael Rubin who wrote an offensive piece accusing Ethiopia of invading Somaliland, flowed by another lobbying effort in England where a former disgraced conservative party member party introduced a private members bill. Well Lobbying efforts and money could take you that far but won't produce anything meaningful. I even saw Mr. Kayd, the current foreign minister who used to own a " Qat Mijilis" in Ottawa, came back home in Canada and sponsored couple of advertising pieces in the local papers pushing the anti China and pro Taiwan memes to ride the current political climate of the China vs Canada /USA issues. This fool should have known that Canada is one the for front nations who oppose separatist movements around the world while dealing the French speaking province of Quebec which from time to time agitates for separation. I know personally the Somali foreign minister and his travels in the region is mostly related to the lobbying efforts of Somali to have a seat at the next Africa SEcurity Council table to have a real impact on the coming discussions of the withdrawls of the Amisom troops. In his last meeting with Ethiopian leadership, the Abiy administration proposed to build the ZAylac port with 100% of the cost and ready to spend $250 million dollars and push a head the Zaylac--Borama-Jigjiga highway already approved by the African development bank. In return Ethiopia will own 75% of the shares and the rest will be owned by Somaliland. Biixi was clearly told that the project will go ahead only after it is approved by the federal government of Somalia. If he rejected, it will done through the local clans living in the region. He was also told to stop the campaign in the western media about Ethiopia invading. He was told that Ethiopia will not interfere with territorial integrity of the Somali republic, and if any development takes place, it will be done through the internationally recognized government. Before he arrived in Addis, the Oromo speaking media had even released the news of 150 elders from Awdal received by Ethiopia. I can assure you that it was just five people including the UGaas, but Ethiopia decided to plant that news in a different way. In other words , Biixi was told that this project will done either with you or without you. After Biixi came back from Addis, he never said one single word about the what took place in Addis. He just started his usual attacks on Farmaajo, and that crazy woman Edna Aadan even lost her mind saying" there is no such thing as Somalia". Soon after, Djibouti broke the Somalia arms embargo and sent couple of dozen trucks of weapons to Somaliland. Some people are saying it was bought by the Biixi family from the international market and then passed through Djibouti. Furthermore, the Awdal coast and western part of the region is flooded with Somaliland militia. I can't confirm yet, but we have reports indicating some of the weapons proceeded to northeastern Somalia to reach some militants in the Sanaag mountains. THe Zaylac port is a grave threat to both the Biixi clan and the Djibouti despot. THese two groups will do anything to stop it including trying to bring foreign forces to Somaliland. This is the only Somali entity trying to bring foreign force in its soil to survive just like the one in Djibouti. Certainly strange things are going on in that region. We are flowing couple of developments and will share with you guys in the next few weeks. The same group who offered Berbera port in silver plate are refusing for others to develop. Folks, the 30 year pax Tigranga is over and as such borders in the region might change to reflect the current reality. -

It is a fake news from Hiiraan Online. This outlet is a well known separatist mouth piece . Things are getting bad bad between Biixi and Ethiopia. Folks I have a big news on this many others including the Zaylac port project. Talk to you today after work. Xaaji will be very disappointed. -
I could be wrong with my analysis, but when I say overthrowing government by popular uprising, I don't mean despots taking over the power like Egypt and Sudan. Before ISIS showed up in 2014 in Iraq, the Syrian opposition was a popular revolution by the people, yet, a soon as they were close to overthrow the despot, they were branded as " Al qaeda" affiliates or terrorists. When was the last time you seen armed Sunni groups taking power by gun after deposing a dictator? THey are not even allowed to win by the ballot box let alone by a gun. The gulf is guilty by unleashing the Wahabis, but the Iranians have also blood in their hands. THe Iranian Mullahs are using religion to unleash their sectarian wars in the region. Religion is a tool to attain power in the region. Furthermore, the Wahhabis and Iran are the main protagonists who are serving those who have unleashed the chaos theory to destroy many MUslim nations. Imagine , Al-shabaab is going to Lamu coast of Kenya to destroy infrastructure than hurt a single Ethiopian soldier for all these years. We need to understand the big picture in order to defeat this mence. Of course. THe TPLF were a colonial post in the horn of Africa and their sponsors were in disinformation campaign to bring them back to power, but they misread the public opinions of the Ethiopian people.
